Abstract

This research background is the low skilled interpersonal communication from student. Social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support are factors suspected influence student interpersonal communication. This research is aimed to describe and examined: (1) relationship between social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support with interpersonal communication; (2) together relationship between social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support with interpersonal communication. This research used quantitative approach by using descriptive correlational method. The population of this research were 670 students of MTsN Parak Lawas Padang. The sample were 251 students that were chosen by using Proportional Stratified Random Sampling. The instrument that had is the scale by using the Likert scale model. The data research was analize by descriptive statistics, simple, and multiple regression. This discover research show: (1) there was a relationship between social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support with interpersonal communication; (2) there was together a relationship between social self-concept, student perception regarding parents social support, and peer social support with interpersonal communication.

Abstract

Self control is very important in daily life because self control was not developed well yet that can make  individual has potential to make negative thing so individual must be developed their self control in smartphone usage. The purposes in this research are 1) To produce information service module to developed self control in smartphone usage  that is materially and appearance. 2) To describe the module level of exposure by the BK teacher/counselor. This research used development research by following ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) as method of this research. Subject of trial  in this research consist of 3 experts to test the feasibility and 5 BK teacher/ counselor to test the module usage. The research was conducted by testing a product of research and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The result of this research showing that 1) Information module service to developed self-control in smartphone usage valued worthy in terms of material and appearance. 2) Module usage is in the highest level. So the prototype of an information service to developed self control in smartphone usage module can be utilized by BK teacher/counselor to help the students in developing self-control in smartphone usage.

Abstract

Old age is a natural process experienced by every human being who will reach old age. Old age is not a disease, but a normal process that cannot be avoided. In incomplete sentence old age many problems faced by the elderly both physical problems that have decreased and mental problems such as depression, stress and anxiety. Problems that occur in the elderly are important things that require attention and care. Hypnotherapy is one way that can be done in the elderly to reduce the problems that occur, especially regarding mental health such as anxiety. Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic method that uses hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is a direct response to the causes or roots of a problem, and what makes people enter hypnosis is the verbal suggestion. This paper tries to explain the concept of hypnotherapy and aspects related to hypnotherapy, which are aimed at reducing mental problems such as anxiety that occurs in the elderly.

Abstract

Students as social beings cannot be separated from various activities that involve other people. Related to this need, interaction becomes a decisive part. The most important element in interacting is having good self-confidence and interpersonal communication skills. The problem of self-confidence and students’ interpersonal communication skills has become more widespread. Role playing is one of the right techniques used to overcome this problem. This technique aims to prepare students to take on the role of people, to develop insights about unspoken attitudes, thoughts, and feelings, which often determine the behavior of others, and to increase self-confidence and communication skills through student participation in implementing challenges communication faced. This text will explain how the urgency of developing self-confidence, and interpersonal communication can be developed through role playing.

Abstract

The learning process in university level is quite different from the former education levels so that the students need to be adapted to. The students, in fact, were still unaccustomed to the learning style, unserious and frequently absent from the class, did not do assignment as they were required, and did not submit the tasks on the time they were due. This research was intended to describe the students’ learning style and learning skill and its implication in Guidance and Counseling service. This research could be classified into descriptive study. The population of the research was 1021 students in the Faculty of Education of UNP. By using purposive random sampling technique and Taro Yamane formula, 287 students were taken as the sample. The instrument of the research was the scale of Likert model. The data obtained were analyzed by using percentage technique. The correlation between learning style and learning outcomes was tested by using Chi Square, and correlation between learning skill and learning outcomes was tested by using Spearman Rank Correlation.  The results of the research revealed that: (1) the learning style dominantly applied by the students of the Faculty of Education of UNP was visual learning style which was used by 49.13% students, (2) the learning skill of the students of the Faculty of Education of UNP was in average category (68.18%), (3) there was a significant correlation between learning style and learning outcomes, and (4) there was a significant correlation between learning skill and learning outcomes. The implication of these research findings toward Guidance and Counseling Service was it was necessary to cooperate with other related parties to optimize the students’ learning style, learning skill and  learning outcomes.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to look at the socio-emotional developmental stages of preschool children. The study has been conducted in two preschool classes of Sekolah Kebangsaan King George V, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The data collection has been done via a survey questionnaire that has been administered tofifty preschoolers observed in both classes. Data collected was descriptively and inferentially analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 20.0. The main findingrevealthat the repondents’ psycho-socio-emotional development is equivalent among genders, as well as between the age of five and six years old. This initial information would help teachers to affectively prepare the guidance programme for these preschoolers when they enter elementary classes.

Abstract

Structuring the direction of national education brings learners ready to face the competition of global competition. Physical arrangement, the psychic's independence is continuously pursued. School counselors will continue to draw their duties and the nature altruistick attitude acts as a safety practitioner in dealing with cases - cases that occur in the school environment. Counselors as recruitment of competent and humanistic skills to support teaching philosophy that learners are given a role in the implementation of the curriculum. Abstract

The phenomenon of multigenerational labor provides new challenges in the world of career. The difference of values and objectives of each generation can influence individual’s career choice thus career counselor need an approach to be able to help clients identifying their work values. Social Cognitive Career Theory (Lent, Brown, & Hackett, 1994) is a fairly recent approach because it provides a perspective based on specific self-efficacy beliefs of each generation. Due to period differences, the values adopted between one generation with another generation have been resulted in different personal accomplishments and thus different career choices. Individual from the Traditional Generations will tend to choose careers which provide firm loyalty as his personal accomplishment, whether individual from The Baby Boomers will tend to choose careers which provide prestiges, facilities, and positions. The X Generation lay their personal accomplishments on freedom and balance between career and family. The Y Generation which known as digital natives tend to choose careers which give them freedom and creativity to work by utilizing high technology. Similiar to their former, the Z Generation not only tend to choose careers which give them freedom and creativity but also expect feedback from the experienced people.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yang dipengaruhi oleh regulasi emosi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan regulasi emosi, hasil belajar, dan identifikasi hubungan antara regulasi emosi dengan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X, yang terdaftar pada tahun 2014/2015 sebanyak 284 orang. Jumlah sampel yaitu 166 orang siswa, yang diperoleh dengan teknik simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi regulasi emosi yang dimiliki siswa berada pada kategori sedang, hasil belajar siswa berada pada kategori tinggi, dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara regulasi emosi dengan hasil belajar siswa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini diharapkan guru BK dapat menyusun program kegiatan pelayanan bimbingan dan konseling berkaitan dengan pengenalan emosi, pemicu munculnya emosi, pengendalian prilaku agresif, serta motivasi diri melalui berbagai jenis kegiatan layanan BK. Materi tersebut berguna untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam mengelola emosi yang muncul dalam proses belajar di sekolah.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to measure the level of resilience of high school students in West Sumatra. This study involved 378 students in atasse-West Sumatra secondary school, the data in this study were in the form of political data collected using the TIRI (Taufik & Ifdil Resilience Inventory) instrument developed from the theory of Reivich & Shatté, (2002) in the form of Likert’s model scale and analyzed data using the Rasch model approach. The results show that most students are at a high level of resilience. In addition, there are 38 students unsuitable in providing answers or outliers, showed there are traces of fraud, or answers the instrument by guessing. The quality of the TIRI instrument given to students is superb for identifying post-disaster resilience conditions, as seen from the reliability value of the item (.99).
