Abstract

Objectives. The ability to lay-up is a multi-coordinated of motoric skill. This ability is consist of eye, hand and foot coordinations. Lay-up skill is kind of closed skills but it is not easy to be done, because it requires throwing skills and the ability to make a good check marks. This check mark consists of steps and coordination of throws into the basketball ring. As they get older, children abilities will increase in terms of coordination developments, and the aim of this research was to determine the ability of children to lay-up aged 6 to 8 years old. Materials and Methods. The quantitative research method is used in this study with a test and measurement approach as a tool for obtaining its data, where description analysis is utilized to explain about children ability in doing lay-up. There are 117 students as its sample which 28 students aged 6 years old, 29 students aged 7 years old and 50 students aged 8 years old. Lay-up test being done for five times with a ball size 5 for every student. Results. This study shows that children aged 6 and 7 years old tend to have the same ability to lay-up, meanwhile at the age of 8 years old children, there has been experienced a two-fold increase compared to children aged 6 and 7 years old. Conclusion. The result provides an evidence that an increase in lay-up ability in basketball occurs in children aged 8 years. Keywords: (Basketball , Lay-Up , Motoric Skill, Coordination Movement).

Abstract

Objectives. This research was motivated by the lack of physical condition of volleyball players at SMPN 37, especially regarding physical endurance. This research aims to develop an endurance training model that will also increase the endurance of volleyball players at junior high school. This model was developed use the ADDIE model,analysis, planning, development, and implementation, which consists of 5 stages: analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. Materials and methods. These five stages are carried out through training program analysis, material analysis, and analysis of volleyball player characteristics. Then, the validation test was carried out by three validators, namely two expert team validators and one language validator. The practicality test was carried out by a volleyball coach and 12 volleyball players. After the model was categorized as valid and practical, an effectiveness test was carried out by carrying out a multistage fitness test (bleep test). Results. The results of research on the development of an aerobic training model for the endurance of volleyball players in the validity test obtained percentage data with an average of 86.19% categorized as very valid, practicality tests by volleyball coaches with a percentage of 90%, and players with a percentage of 83.88% categorized as very practical. In comparison, the effectiveness test was 83% in the very effective category. Conclusion. Based on the results obtained, the aerobic training model for endurance volleyball players is categorized as valid, practical, and effective, so it can be concluded that it can be applied to endurance volleyball players. This model is also an alternative form for trainers and teachers delivering material and exercises.

Abstract

Objective. The purpose of this research is to apply the basic techniques of Indonesian soccer philosophy, namely attacking transition-defending, at SSB Pamong Praja Garut. Materials and Methods. The research employed an experiment with a one-group pre-test and post-test design, and was conducted at SSB Pamong Praja Tarogong Kidul Garut. The population consisted of 16 players, and the following instruments were used: First Touch test, passing test, dribbling test, heading test, shooting test, and soccer playing skills test (GPAI). SPSS version 26 was used for data processing. Results. The average values of the pre-test and post-test results are as follows: First Touch (pre-test 52.50 and post-test 69.38), Passing test (pre-test 218.13 and post-test 266.88), Dribbling test (pre-test 44.56 and post-test 52.69), Heading test (pre-test 49.50 and post-test 59.94), Shooting test (pre-test 81.88 and post-test 122.50), and soccer playing skills (0.3379-0.3857). Conclusion. Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that the application of the basic techniques of Indonesian soccer philosophy, namely attacking transition-defending, has a positive and significant influence on the improvement of the average values of the pre-test and post-test.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a basic motion model for running for children U-10 years at the BTB eight futsal club. This basic movement game model is adapted to aspects of growth and development and the characteristics of children under 10 years of age packaged through physical activity in a game that focuses on the basic motions of running. This R&D research uses the ADDIE approach, while the steps are: 1) Performing Analysis, 2) Designing, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, 5) Evaluation. The sample of this research is children under 10 years old. The results of this study were 13 play-based running motion models which were arranged according to the characteristics of growth and movement development in children under 10 years of age and were appropriate to be applied in training and learning the basic motions of running in children under 10 years of age.. Abstract

Objectives. This research aims to discover the description of cardiopulmonary endurance in basketball athletes trained by the Gayo Lues district, which will be carried out in 2023. This research is classified as quantitative research using a field test and measurement approach to components of cardiopulmonary endurance. Materials and Methods. The population in this study were all basketball athletes trained by the Gayo Lues district, totaling 23 athletes consisting of 10 male athletes and 13 female athletes who were taken using saturated sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using the Harvard step test instrument. The data is then analyzed using average statistical analysis and frequency or percentage distribution analysis. Results. The research results found that the cardiopulmonary endurance ability of male athletes had an average value of 70.1 and was in the medium category. For female athletes, cardiopulmonary endurance was found to be 65.7 and was in the medium category. Conclusion. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the cardiopulmonary endurance ability of basketball athletes trained by Gayo Lues district, both male and female athletes, is still in the medium category.

Abstract

Objectives. Based on observations, it was found that extracurricular participants at SMAN 1 Jeneponto required further mastery of the basic techniques of Smash volleyball. To address this, an experimental study was conducted to determine the effect of two types of training - the hanging ball training model and the drill smash training model - on the smash skills of these participants. The research method utilized in this study was a group design. Materials and methods. The study focused on participants of the volleyball extracurricular activity at SMAN 1 Jeneponto. The sampling technique used was proportional sampling with a sample size of 16 participants, and the groups were divided using ordinal pairing. The analysis techniques employed included descriptive test analysis, data normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. The analysis was conducted using SPPS Version 26.00 at a 95% significance level. Results. The data analysis shows that both the hanging ball training model and the drill smash training model have a significant impact on the smash skills of extracurricular participants at SMAN 1 Jeneponto. The t-values obtained for both models were much higher than the t-table value of 2.365, indicating a strong impact. Additionally, there is a significant difference in the impact of the two training models on the smash skills of the participants. Conclusion. Based on statistical analysis, it has been determined that the drill smash training model is more effective than hanging ball training. The analysis revealed that the observed t value of 7,000 is significantly greater than the t table of 2.145, with a significance level of 0.001, which is well below the alpha level of 0.05. In other words, the evidence strongly suggests that the drill smash training model is the more effective of the two training methods.

Abstract

Objective. This quantitative descriptive study aims to determine the volleyball bottom passing ability of Binamu State High School students. The data collection techniques used are tests and measurements. Materials and Methods. The population in this study were students at SMA Negeri 1 Binamu, with a sample size of 22 students. The instrument used in this research was a test, namely the Brumbach forearm pass wall-volley test. The data analysis technique used is a descriptive percentage. Results. The research data shows that the maximum score that students can achieve is 39, and the minimum score is 24. The research data that has been classified shows that the ability to pass under volleyball in PJOK Learning at SMA Negeri 1 Binamu is in the "inferior" category at 13.6 % (3 students), the "poor" category was 18.2% (4 students), the "Enough" category was 36.4% (8 students), the "good" category was 22.7% (5 students), and the "very good" was 9.1% (2 students). Conclusion. Thus, it can be concluded that the ability to pass under volleyball in PJOK Learning at SMA Negeri 1 Binamu is in the Sufficient category.

Abstract

Objective. Many universities have reported that the basketball learning process is unstimulating and repetitive. This study aims to introduce a novel approach to basketball learning by investigating the impact of flip book-based audio-visual media on the learning outcomes for lay-up shots in basketball games. The research will focus on determining the effectiveness of this approach in enhancing the learning process and improving the overall performance of players in basketball games. Materials and Methods. The study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design with an experimental approach to examine the effects of basketball learning courses on the lay-up shoot skills of 30 students belonging to the PJKR STKIP Pasundan Class of 2021. Cluster random sampling was used to select the participants from the original population of students. A test was conducted to evaluate the movement process of basketball lay-up shoot skills, and the data analysis was performed using a t-test approach with the IBM SPSS 25 program. Result. The study's findings revealed a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest values. The average value of the difference was -1.371, with a standard deviation of 0.907, and a calculated t-value of -11.575 with a degree of freedom of 29. The significance value obtained (2-tailed) was 0.000, indicating that the difference was significant at 0.05. The posttest value was greater than the pretest value. Conclusion. Based on the findings, it can be inferred that fundamental lay-up shooting skills in basketball games can be significantly enhanced through the utilization of flip book-based audio-visual media. This suggests that there is a need for educational instructors, including lecturers, teachers, and students alike, to adopt innovative teaching approaches that promote student motivation and optimize teaching and learning interactions.

Abstract

Objective. Physical education teachers play a crucial role in promoting successful learning by nurturing critical thinking skills that make the learning process more innovative. However, the lack of adequate facilities and infrastructure poses a significant challenge in achieving successful learning outcomes, particularly in badminton education. To address this issue, this research employs a modified learning media that utilizes recycled materials to enhance the learning outcomes for badminton long serve. Materials and Methods. The study was conducted among fourth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Islam Ngabang, Landak Regency. Researchers employed a classroom action research method, which included two cycles of data collection and analysis. The study utilized a descriptive research type and employed observation and test techniques for data collection. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and quantitatively based on the results of observations of activities and skills. Result. The study employed two cycles with four meetings each to evaluate the effectiveness of a certain approach. In the first cycle, the participants achieved a final average grade of 79.67 with a 68% completion rate, which was considered unsatisfactory. In the second cycle, the approach was refined and the participants achieved a final average grade of 90.67 with a 92% completion rate, indicating a significant improvement. Conclusion. After conducting extensive research, it has been found that modifying the learning media by utilizing second-hand products can significantly enhance the longevity of badminton services. This study highlights the effectiveness of such an approach in improving the overall performance of badminton players. By employing this technique, players can optimize their skills and achieve a higher level of proficiency in the sport. The findings of this research are valuable and can contribute to the development of new and innovative training methodologies in the field of badminton.

Abstract

Objective. Nutrition is a crucial factor that significantly affects a person's overall health. A person's nutritional status is influenced by various factors, and one of them is their understanding of nutrition. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, nutrition has become a hot research topic, especially for researchers who are also teachers. In this research, the independent variable would be the students' nutrition knowledge, whereas the dependent variable would be their nutritional status. The primary aim of this research is to establish the relationship between nutritional knowledge and nutritional status. The findings of this study could help in encouraging students to share their knowledge about nutrition with their family members and become advocates of good health practices. Materials and Methods. For this particular research study, a sample group of 50 students from class X of SMA Negeri 2 Merauke was selected using a purposive sampling technique to obtain accurate findings, the research employed quantitative research methods, specifically the Spearman Test, which aimed to test correlation. Result. The findings of the study indicate a Spearman rank correlation coefficient of 0.804, suggesting a strong correlation between the two variables under consideration. Moreover, the coefficient of determination analysis reveals that nutritional knowledge factors account for 38% of the variation in nutritional status, with the remaining 62% being influenced by other factors. These results underscore the importance of enhancing nutritional knowledge to improve nutritional status. Conclusion. Maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle is crucial, especially during these times of the COVID-19 pandemic. While teachers at school play a significant role in imparting nutrition knowledge, it is the collective responsibility of everyone to prioritize healthy living. By doing so, we not only increase our fitness levels but also contribute to the overall quality of our family's economy. It is essential to recognize that nutrition knowledge is just one of the many factors that influence our well-being, but it is undoubtedly a crucial one.
