Abstract

Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis that is known by the name of binahong leaves have medicinal properties traditionally as wound healing. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of leaf binahong extract ointment on graze and to know the effectiveness of the leaf binahong extract ointment as wound healing. This research used experimental research method. Simplicia powder of binahong leaf was extracted using a maceration method. The result of maceration extracted by using a rotary evaporator, the extract obtained are formulated into ointments. Binahong leaf extract ointment made within 5 concentrations that is a concentration of 20%, 25%, 30%, 35% and 40%. The subject of research in the form of a rabbits that amount 3 tails were divided into 7 treatment groups ie negative control (ointment base), positive control (Betadine ointment), ointments leaf extract binahong 20%, ointment leaf extract binahong 25%, ointment leaf extract binahong 30%, ointment binahong 35% leaf extract and leaf extract ointment binahong 40%. Rabbits are scarred on the back with a wound length of 2 cm. Ointment leaf extract with various concentrations carried out the effectiveness test against the healing of scratch on the back of a rabbit that has been injured. On testing ointment was done organoleptic test, homogeneity test and pH test. The data were processed statistically using ANOVA analysis with SPSS method. Results of the research and the results of statistical analysis that extract ointment. Binahong leaf had effectivity on a scratch wound. Binahong leaf extract ointment concentration of 20%, 25% and 30% have given the effect of wound healing, where as the concentration of 35% and 40% give a more effective healing effect. Effects similar to the positive control, namely ointment binahong leaf extract with a concentration of 35%, whereas the leaf extract ointment binahong 40% have the best effect.

Abstract

Red cabbage flower (Brassica oleracea L.) contains antioxidant compounds with strong activity potential. This research aims to make antioxidant gel preparations using HPMC as a base gel containing red cabbage flower extract with concentrations (% b/b) for F1, F2 and F3 are 5%, 7,5% and 10%, which are then evaluated and tested its antioxidant activities. Testing antioxidant activity is carried out by the determination method of IC50 using the reagent DPPH (Difenil-2-Pikrilhidrazil). From research acquired the value of IC50 for ethanol extract red cabbage flower and vitamin c as comparative compounds is 47,10 ppm and 6,30 ppm. Antioxidant activity of red cabbage flower ethanol extract in gel preparations in each formulation has a IC50 value of 80,15 ppm (F1), 59,71 ppm (F2), and 57,48 ppm (F3). Evaluation ofgel preparation includes homogenity, organoleptic, viscosity and pH. The physical properties test results of gel dosage showed that all the preparations of the homogeneous gel, have a pH between the 5,30-5,70 corresponding to the skin pH, with a viscosity value of 3000-3700 cps, and have a coverage of ≤ 7 cm. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that red cabbage flower ethanol extract can be formulated in an antioxidant gel with the best concentration is 10%.

Abstract

White skin of watermelon and the liquid of kepok banana tree trunk empirically widely used as hair growth, In addition ethanol extract white skin of watermelon and the liquid of kepok banana tree trunk has also been scientifically proven able to accelerate the growth hair of the rat. However the research activity of the combination of the two against the hair growth has never done. The purpose of this research is to know the combination of both these extracts which can give of the most activity is good for hair growth. Ethanol extract of white skin of watermelon extraction is done by of maceration using a solvent of ethanol 70 %, as for getting the test sample is liquid of kepok banana tree trunk done by cutting down banana tree trunk approximately 50 cm above the ground surface then the stem of banana leaf his satin-the core then covered with plastic and silenced for one night. The results showed that the combination of liquid of kepok banana tree trunk and Ethanol extract white skin of watermelon (2:1) have a long hair growth activity higher than the positive control (Minoxidil), While hair growth activity of weights lower than the positive control (Minoxidil)

Abstract

Ambon banana peel contains antioxidants that are used to brighten and moisturize the skin. Antioxidant can delay and prevent free radicals on the skin. The purpose of this research was to make a sunscreen cream preparation from ethanol 70% extract of ambon banana peel with good physical quality, activity of antioxidant and Sun Protection Factor (SPF) and the stability of sunscreen cream. The antioxidant activity test used the DPPH method while determining of SPF value in vitro using a UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. The results of this research indicate that extract ethanol 70% of Ambon banana peel can be made sunscreen cream that has good physical quality. Antioxidant activity ethanol 70% extract from ambon banana peel with inhibition value of 88,12 ppm, while cream preparation of formula 1 (5%) the inhibition value was 117 ppm, formula 2 (10%) the inhibition value was 107,11 ppm, and formula 3 (15%) the inhibition value was 92,04 ppm. The SPF value of ethanol 70% extract Ambon banana peel was 33,30, in cream preparation formula 1(5%) was 8,61, formula 2 (10%) was 11,65, and formula 3 (15%) was 13,72. The stability of the cream preparation is stable at 25℃.

Abstract

Free radicals are the one form of reactive oxygen compounds, which could disrupt the production of DNA, lipid layer on the cell wall, affecting blood vessels, and the production of prostaglandins. Therefore, it takes antioxidants because its ability to inhibit free radicals by means of donating one electron on free radicals. Synthetic antioxidant compounds often have side effects is not good, so much sought after alternative antioxidants from natural ingredients, one of which is bisbul fruit (Diospyros discolor Willd.). Based on research, bisbul fruit has a strong antioxidant activity. The purpose of this study was to isolate the active compound bisbul fruit extracts which had antioxidant activity. The isolation method used thin layer chromatography method and chromatography columns, continued using FTIR spectroscopy method and LC- MS, while the antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. The results obtained had antioxidant activity IC50 53.51 ppm. The spectrum of FTIR spectroscopy was obtained that the compounds had a hydroxyl group which could be assumed as a phenol or alcohol. While the results of the LC-MS spectrum of compounds having a molecular mass of (m+H+) 631.95 m/z. The results showed extract the ethanol bisbul fruit had a strong antioxidant activity and possibility compound antioxidants was Goshonoside F4

Abstract

Melanin is a substance that gives brown or blackish brown on the skin. Tyrosinase is the main enzyme in biosynthesis of melanin. Utilization of breadfruit leaves based chemical compounds therein such as flavonoids and tannins which are derivates of phenol.Then tested of tyrosinase inhibitory activity.The purpose of this study was to determine the power of inhibition of tyrosinase at ethanol extracts 70% and ethyl acetate extracts of leaves of breadfruit. Acquisition of extraction by maceration, subsequently evaporated by means of separation (rotary vacuum evaporator). Maserate were obtained for a each standard series of concentration 2000; 1000; 500; 250; 125; 62,5; 31,25; 15,63 ppm and kojic acid as positive control with concentration 500; 250; 125; 62,5; 31,25; 15,63 ppm, then each sample tested the inhibitory activity of tyrosinase.Based on the results of the study for the highest tyrosinase inhibitory activity shown by ethyl acetate extract of leaves of breadfruit, because it value smaller IC50 than ethanol extracts 70% of leaves ofbreadfruit. The value IC50 the ethyl acetate extract was 245,43 ppm, while the value IC50 the is 3143,21 ppm. However the activity of tyrosinase inhibition of ethanol extracts 70% and ethyl acetate extract of leaves of breadfruit was lower than kojic acid as positive control that has a value IC50 is 19,36 ppm, because the smaller the value IC50 The greater power inhibition of tyrosinase.

Abstract

Lagenaria siceraria, known as water pumpkin seeds containing compounds alkaloids, phenolics, tannins, flavonoids and steroids. The above compounds are potentially as antibacterial. This research aims to know the effectiveness of the inhibition of the growth of the bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Based on the results of the research it is known that phytochemicals may be screening the content of water pumpkin seeds (Lagenaria siceraria) namely alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, steroids and phenol. From the results of testing the effectiveness of antibacterial water pumpkin seed extract with ethyl acetate solvent, hexane and water is able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. However the antibacterial activity of extracts of water pumpkin seeds using solvent hexane has a zone larger than drag the extract water pumpkin seeds using the solvent ethyl acetate and water. Comparison of antimicrobial activity of the solvent on the third with variation concentration of solvent shows a meaningful difference in inhibiting the growth of bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. It can be seen from the p-value < 0.05 (p = 0.000).

Abstract

Mangifera indica L. is a plant that has antibacterial activity. One of the plant‟s parts that has antibacterial activity on mango is the seed. Natural antibacterial content in the form of tannins contained in ethanol extract of Harum Manis mango seed is considered being effective towards Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, which are the main cause bacteria in diarrhea and other skin infections. The objective of this study is to obtain a good and effective formulation to remove Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureusbacteria in order to produce natural hand- made antiseptic gel preparations. The diameter of clear zone produced by gel preparation of hand sanitizer ethanol extract of mango seed on Escherichia coli bacteria with gel concentration of 2; 2.5 and 5% respectively - 10.86, 1.74, and 13.15 mm, while on a positive control, it is 7.47 mm. On the other hand, the diameter of clear zone in Staphylococcus aureus with gel concentration of 2; 2.5 and 5% respectively - 10.14, 10.58, and 12.83 mm, while on the positive control, it is 7.43 mm. Based on Anovaone way test followed by Duncan test show a significant difference (significant effect) between the concentration. It can be concluded that the preparation of 70% ethanol extract gel having antibacterial effectiveness towards Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus and effective gel preparation evaluation results are at 2,5% concentration

Abstract

Storage is one of important process in the management of drug and medical devices.This study aims to evaluate the storage system of drug and medical devices in the Restu Farma Pharmacy. This is a descriptive research which carried on by direct observation and interview. This research was evaluate arrangement of drugs and medical devices in Restu Farma Pharmacy. This research show that in Restu Pharma Pharmacy the drug and medical devices were arranged by type of drugs (tablets, syrups, intervereous liquid and injection). The Restu Pharma Pharamcy‟s warehouse was as the drug and medical devices in Restu Pharma Pharmacy ware house was arrange by type of drugs (tablets, syrups, intervereous liquid and injection).The storage in the warehouse at 75% and the service room at 85% is [compliance with Permenkes No. 73 of the years 2016 about standard of pharmaceutical care at pharmacy.]

Abstract

Plant soursop (Annona muricata L.) is one of the Annonaceae familia. This plant has well-known in the society environment and it has been using as a traditional medicine. One of benefits of the soursop is can used as an algernative of cancer treatment. Until now not yet known scientifically whether soursop leaves have anticancer activity.This study aims to determine the potential toxicity of bioactive substances from the ethanol extract, of ethyl acetate and n-hexane of the soursop leaves as an anticancer agent by using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. This experimental As many as 100 larvas were use as research objects which divided into 3 groups. Each group consist of 10 larvas and the group repetition were done by randomly, three times per group. The extract concentration used in medium is 500, 100, 10 and as a control 0 ppm. Data obtained from counting the number of dead larvas (letal concentration 50 ppm) after 24 hours treatment. Based on the data obtained from LC50 of extract ethanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane soursop leaves then determined by using probit analysis. The water content which contained in simplicia (drifed leaves) is 6,49%. The probit analysis results show that the ethanol extract have LC50 values of 86,45 ppm, 92,81 ppm of ethyl acetate extract and n-hexane extracts 37601,05 ppm. The distribution of ethanol and ethyl acetate extracts of soursop leaves in the experiments shown any potential toxicity against Artemia salina Leach, while the n-hexane extract of soursop leaves show no any potential toxicity to against Artemia salina Leach larvas.
