Pelita Masyarakat
PELITA MASYARAKAT, is a forum for disseminating conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the field of community services. Pelita Masyarakat Journal has a goal for scientific publication of the results or conceptual servants of the ideas and ideas in the field of community service. PELITA MASYARAKAT is published in one volume, twice a year, September and March . Every writer who has an article can send the manuscript by following the writing guidelines. Authors who want to submit their article manuscripts can be done online. Each article addressed to the editorial will be selected through the Desk Review and Initial Manuscript Evaluation process by the Editorial Board. Next, the article will be sent to the Bestari Partner / peer reviewer and will be entered into the next selection by the Blind Peer-Review Process. <![CDATA[Denai Lama Village is one of 19 villages in Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency, which is known as a tourist village with a diversity of biodiversity, including garden ornamental plants that can be used to make handicrafts with economic value. To further develop the potential of yard ornamental plants, through the Medan Area University Community Service Program, the team offered the idea of making oshibana crafts, which is the art of flower arrangement using unused leaves or flowers. Partners in the activity are young women and local PKK mothers. The purpose of the activity is to provide information on the potential of yard ornamental plants to become creative products that have economic value. Implementation of activities with the method of presentation of material and information related to the potential of ornamental plants and the practice of making oshibana directly. It is hoped that this training will increase insight into the utilization of yard ornamental plants into products of economic value. This craft art can be used as decoration for various souvenir products such as bags, frames, key chains and bookmarks.]]>

<![CDATA[Simple Emergency Management (SEM) training is training on how to treat or handle people who get an accident or illness that suddenly comes before receiving help from medical personnel. can recognize how to treat patients with cases such as sports injuries that need serious treatment. The training this time was conducted for the students of the An Nisa Orphanage Jaten Karanganyar. There are 50 beneficiaries from the An Nisa Orphanage. The purpose of this counseling is to provide understanding to the residents of the orphanage regarding the first handling of emergency cases, especially in sports injuries so that the emergency situation does not spread to other things. -Things that are worse. The method used is the lecture and simulation method which is assisted by the emergency team from Kusuma Husada Surakarta, namely the Kusuma Nursing Car (KNC). After evaluating the residents, it was found that 90% of the residents understood how to take the first action in a case. Emergency.]]>

<![CDATA[Kampung Sanan Malang has long been known as a center for making tempeh. It has been a long time since the Sanan Malang Tempe and Tempe Chips Production Center Association was established, which has 636 tempe producers as members. Some of its members have been able to process tempeh into various types of preparations. The innovation made in 2021 is named Character Tempe, namely tempeh in the form of animal characters, or fruits. During the trial period, character tempeh was produced using plastic cake molds. The problem faced is that members of this community want to be able to produce this tempeh with a larger production volume, and a more varied product. The reason is that no craftsmen have been able to make their own character models that are more varied as desired. Craftsmen also have not been able to make their own molds. The solution offered is training: making character models using plasticine, training on printing these models using RTV food grade. At the end of this activity, the craftsmen have the ability to produce processed tempeh characters quickly and with good quality so that they become a new Sanan Malang specialty product.]]>

<![CDATA[The Permana International English Program (PIEP) is one of the learning institutions in the city of Pare, Kediri which was just established in 2021. The pandemic condition due to the Covid19 virus has hampered the institution's promotional activities. The existence of a website and social media can be used as a means of marketing. Managing the content of a website can give customers trust, make the agency look more professional, and can attract new customers. This community service activity aims to provide website management training and help produce more interesting website content. The stages carried out in this community service activity are conducting discussions with partners, helping to prepare interesting website content, and conducting content management training for PIEP as partners. The results of service activities are in the form of developing a website for PIEP that can be accessed from anywhere and has interesting content. The website that has been developed has been tested and can run well. It also been advertised using the Google Ads service. Website Traffic visitor shows an increase in visits during one month of installation on Google Ads.]]>

<![CDATA[Traditional batik products made by artisans in a community or region are often not aware of the importance of protecting their work through Intellectual Property Rights, especially brands. Even though the potential for the development of traditional batik products can be optimized through brand protection. An example is the traditional batik work produced by the people of Kampung Pesilat in Madiun Regency. Kampung Pesilat's batik creations already exist and have been passed down from generation to generation until now, the batik craftsmen still carry out small-scale production. This research will examine the proper brand protection for the development of traditional Batik handicraft products. This research is legal research, namely normative legal research. <![CDATA[Islamic boarding schools are part of the Islamic education system which has the aim of forming a civil society that is in line with government programs. Islamic boarding schools, which are known as institutions that focus on Islamic religious education, have undergone changes with the inclusion of general subjects. The goal is for students to be more responsive to the times. Santri have assets that need to be explored because santri are a group of students who are educated with a unique pesantren culture. The students have talents and interests that need to be explored and developed. One way to do this is by empowering productive santri groups. The method used in this program is the Socialization of the program and Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) involving all targets so that youth can be empowered by removing all assets owned to form a Joint Business for Mutual benefit. This service seeks to facilitate the students by providing training such as the delivery of Entrepreneurship material, the formation of productive student groups and the provision of operational assistance. The results of the training show an increase in skills and an increase in the desire of students to become entrepreneurs and the formation of productive student groups. This community service is a real effort and role of the University of North Sumatra to provide benefits to the community.]]>

<![CDATA[The humanism approach as a movement raises awareness of human values aimed at the students of Bina Agung Private Middle School, Sunggal District, with the aim that students can avoid the dangers of drugs and promiscuity both within the school environment and outside the school environment. The implementation method is carried out by lectures and discussions with students. The results of this community service show that the humanist approach to students is very effectively used as a means to make changes in the mental revolution of students to avoid the dangers of drugs and promiscuity, because this can interfere with learning and reduce student achievement at school. In addition to the humanism approach that is applied to students, it is also carried out with a preventive approach to students by providing an understanding of the dangers of drugs and promiscuity and accompanied by teachers.]]>

<![CDATA[Increasing financial literacy is very important related to skills in making financial management accountability reports for non-profit organizations to realize transparency and accountability. Accounting information and financial reports generated will provide convenience in decision making by management, our team and students carry out community service at the Gathering Forum (Fossil) Mosque Prosperity Board (BKM) Medan Tembung District, located at Jalan Bayangkara No. 411 Indra Kasih Village, Medan Tembung, to be precise, is located at the Al Imam Indra Kasih Mosque in Medan. The implementation is carried out by socialization using the lecture method and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). In this method the community service team leader conveys and presents material related to the title of community service delivered while members distribute material and participant attendance is then carried out by discussion and question and answer methods. The implementation of community service provides benefits for mosques and the community, especially scientific provision in compiling financial reports.]]>
