Abstract

Cooking is an art to process raw materials into ready to eat dish with a proper cooking methods. To be able to cook well and properly people needs training at the right way. Pelita Harapan School of Hospitality and Tourism carry out community service cooking training activities aimed to the cooking club at Permai Senior High School Pluit Jakarta. The purpose of this community service is to share cooking skill and knowledge to the member of cooking club at Permai High School Pluit Jakarta since they need assistance to improve their cooking and food presentation skill. Pre test was conducted before the training to find out the basic skill and knowledge of cooking especially gurame fish, the ending of community service activities was carried out the post test to determine the effectiveness of the gurame cooking training that had been done. Cooking training activities to the member of cooking class Permai High School Students has a positive influence because the cooking club member became more skillfull and understand in processing gurame into various Nusantara Recipes.

Abstract

Consideration from a public health perspective on covid-19 prevention and control for the tourism sector is needed as a recommended approach to be taken by the tourism sector. Community service activities are carried out by handing over some equipment to prevent the spread of covid-19 in welcoming new normal conditions at tourist destinations, which can be used by Pokdarwis members in serving tourists. Prevention equipment includes face shields that can be used by ticket sales officers, parking attendants, tour guides, handsanitisers to maintain the cleanliness of every tourist who will enter the Klayar tourist destination, and cloth masks used by Pokdarwis members in providing services to tourists. Covid-19 pandemic has led to new behaviors in the community, which is much more concerned about hygiene, health, and safety factors, including for tourism destinations

Abstract

The Sosok Peak tourist destination in the village of Bawuran has abundant natural resources in the form of Moringa plants. Until now, the community has not been able to use Moringa plant to be used as a variety of processed products and has a resale value. This community service program aims to increase the knowledge and skills regarding the use of Moringa leaves. To train and grow an entrepreneurial spirit to the community so that it can improve the economy of the Bawuran village community. The targets of community service activity are the people of Bawuran village, Sosok Peak’s tourism manager and the merchants. The method used in this community service is carried out in several stages including identification, socialization, training and assistance. Community service has provided several benefits to the community, namely an increase in community knowledge about the benefits of Moringa and its use as well as introducing an entrepreneurial spirit. For traders, they can increase their knowledge about processing various food products that can be sold at Sosok Peak. For the tourism manager, this training can create a product image (typical food) for the Sosok Peak tourist destination.

Abstract

Local Wisdom Approach on Social Aspect in Berastagi Night Tourism. Tourism is a strategic aspect that becomes a significant part of urban development. Night tourism is the kind of tourism which innovative and potential to develop. Berastagi is one of the popular tourist attractions in North Sumatra that has night tourism destinations. But nowadays, the negative image of night tourism that attaches to community life always be the obstacle in its developing process. Approaching the local wisdom in the night tourism social aspect is necessary to be held to create harmony between the night tourism and community. The descriptive qualitative analysis has been carried out with study the data from depth interview and field observation. Abstract

Customer satisfaction is the key to winning business competition today, including the tourism business. but in the field there are still many tourism people who still ignore this at this time. A phenomenon that is often encountered is cheating in business, attracting prices too high to achieve big profits in a short time, and much more. Therefore, it is very important to do counseling on how to manage good tourism services with a 5-dimensional approach to excellent service, especially for prospective tourism destinations that will develop. To find out the effectiveness of this program, a test of differences in understanding of participants has been carried out regarding excellent service, before and after counseling is conducted. The test results through different tests showed an increase in participants' understanding of excellent service after counseling.

Abstract

The Training on Implementing Health Protocol of Hotel’s Employees in New Normal Era The pandemic of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) causes the decline of hospitality sector in Yogyakarta Special Region. All hotels’ occupancy level significantly decreases due to the number of tourist visit that is falling. This circumstance results to the temporary closure for almost all of the hotels. The closure causes the hotel employees’ laid off until an undetermined time and the deceleration of regional economic growth. However, the expectation to revive hospitality sector appears while entering the new normal era. The hotels that were previously shut down because of the inability to cover the operational cost are now able to re-operate with the requirement of being capable to apply health protocol for preventing and controlling Covid-19 in accordance to government standard. Therefore, hotel industry players, especially the employees, are necessary to get the training on implementing health protocol in hotel environment. It aims to meet the guests’ needs of clean, healthy, safe and environmental friendly excellent product and service. Thus, the guests’ trust can be regained and hotel sectors’ activities are able to be run well

Abstract

Donokerto village is one of the pioneering tourist villages that has good potential in terms of diversity of tourist attractions. In addition to tourist attraction, as a major factor triggering visits, homestay is one of the main strategic sources of income to be taken into account in every tourism village management. Remembering Homestay is a basic necessity for every tourist who wants to visit the village for a longer time. As a tourism village that is being pioneered, Desa Donokerto does not yet have human or community resources that understand in the ins and outs of Homestay management. Therefore, the AMPTA Yogyakarta Tourism School in collaboration with PUM Netherlands Senior Experts held a community service with the theme "Training on Managing Homestay in Donokerto Village". This community service activity was carried out by the presentation method and then followed by panel discussions. The recommendation from this service activity is that managing the right homestay is a crucial factor in creating a safe, comfortable and tourist-friendly village. For this reason, it is expected that the community in managing the homestay must meet the criteria for product, service and management aspects.

Abstract

Donokerto village is one of the pioneering tourist villages that has good potential in terms of diversity of tourist attractions. As a Pioneer tourism village, the village of Donokerto requires qualified human resources for tourism services, especially as a tour guide. Therefore, the AMPTA Yogyakarta Tourism School in collaboration with PUM Netherlands Senior Experts held a community service with the theme "Guiding Training in Donokerto Village". This community service activity is carried out using role play and simulation methods, namely by trying to directly deal with tourists and service instructors providing evaluations. The recommendation from this service activity is to increase the ability of foreign languages and public speaking for the community as potential tour guides

Abstract

Socialization of Tourism Awareness as an Effort to Develop Community-Based Rural Tourism in Fatukoto Village. Rural Tourism Development is a government program to build a village tourism system and improve community welfare. In 2019, the Ministry of Tourism collaborates with universities to build tourist villages in East Nusa Tenggara Province. One of the villages is Fatukoto Village as a pilot rural tourism that has natural potential in the form of Pine Forest, Kaenka Lake, and Fatunausus Marble Cliffs. This community service seeks to increase tourism awareness for the people of Fatukoto Village through the SAPTA PESONA approach. The method chosen in implementing this community service is community education in which there are observations, interviews, documentation, focus group discussions, and socialization. The number of participants who took part in this service activity was 30 people aged 17-50 years. The result of this community service is the formation of a tourism awareness group in Fatukoto Village and a tourism work program in Fatukoto Village such as plans for cultural activities, regulations on the cleanliness of tourist attractions, and commitment to building Fatukoto tourism villages.
