Hipotenusa Journal of Research Mathematics Education (HJRME) is a peer-refereed open-access international journal which has been established for the dissemination of state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of mathematics education. This journal is founded under Department of Mathematics Education FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung. Starting from 2020, HJRME would be published two times in a year (February & August). All submitted manuscripts will be initially reviewed by editors and are then evaluated by a minimum of two National Reviewers through the double-blind review process. This is to ensure the quality of the published manuscripts in the journal.

Abstract

This study aims to develop didactic design on counting rules for senior high school. The didactic design is designed by considering two things the result of the test analysis of learning obstacle instrument and learning trajectory. This didactic design consists of four meetings obtained through the three formal stages performed in the study. The first stage is prospective ie didactic situation analysis before learning in the form of hypothetical didactic design including pedagogical didactic anticipation (ADP), second phase metaped analysis is notthe form of design implementation phase, and last stage is retrospective analysis which is an analysis that relate result of prospective analysis with metaped analysis nottik used to formulate empirik design. The research for preparing the didactic design begins with the provision of difficulties in learning the material of the counting rules and the analysis of the teaching materials. The results of the learning obstacle test show that students experience learning barriers that are categorized into three, namely ontogenic obstacle, didactical obstacle, and epistemological obstacle. The didactic design was implemented to 35 students of class XI in one of the senior high school in South Jakarta. Based on the results of research, didactic design developed this can be used as an alternative teaching materials concept of counting rules to minimize student learning barriers.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan mata pelajaran yang abstrak. Pembelajaran matematika membutuhkan media agar konsep matematika dapat teraplikasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga menjadi lebih konkret bagi peserta didik. Namun, beberapa guru matematika tidak menggunakan media dalam pembelajaran, terutama media yang berbasiskan teknologi informasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah guru matematika menggunakan perangkat teknologi informasi sebagai media pembelajaran di kelas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dengan skala Likert. Sampel penelitian adalah 35 guru matematika SMA di kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 82% guru matematika di Padang Pariaman belum memanfaatkan teknologi informasi sebagai media pembelajaran matematika di kelas.

Abstract

Various problems in the world of education still require concerted thinking efforts; one of these problems is in the field of mathematics studies in schools. This may be due to the way the lesson is delivered that is less effective, for that a teacher can create an interesting learning atmosphere so that it is not boring. A teacher must be able to choose a teaching system that is in accordance with the program of teaching and learning activities. In this study the method used is descriptive quantitative method, data analysis using statistical formulas. To find out student learning outcomes, the writer conducted an essay test. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that: "The average mathematics learning outcomes of students who are taught using varied teaching methods are more than the average mathematics learning outcomes of students who are not taught using varied teaching methods". Thus, it can be said that the application of various teaching methods has a positive effect or can improve mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Talk Write terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan quasi experimental design dengan bentuk nonequivalent control group design. Jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak 47 peserta didik kelas VIII tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 salah satu SMP di Lampung Selatan. Pemilihan subjek berdasar pada pendapat guru, terpilih peserta didik kelas VIII A berjumlah 23 peserta didik sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang diberi model pembelajaran Think Talk Write dan peserta didik kelas VIII B berjumlah 24 peserta didik sebagai kelompok kontrol menggunakan pendekatan saintifik dengan metode diskusi. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik. Data hasil uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji t, dan uji skor N-Gain pretes-postes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tidak terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran TTW terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik; (2) peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write tidak lebih baik daripada peserta didik yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik dengan metode diskusi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a difference in the average learning outcomes of mathematics and which one was the higher average of mathematics learning outcomes between students who used Problem Based Learning and Problem Solving learning methods. This type of research is experimental. The data analysis technique uses the ttes formula. The results show that: (1) there is a difference in the average learning outcomes of mathematics between students who use the Problem Based Learning and Problem Solving learning methods at SMPN 2 Metro, it is known that based on the calculation of the hypothesis test obtained thit = 2.60 and tdaf = 2 ,00 so thit > tdaf. (2) the average learning outcomes of students who use the Problem Based Learning learning method are higher than the Problem Solving learning method in mathematics learning for class VIII.

Abstract

The purpose of this researc was to describe (1) students ability to complete story test before usedproblem solving approach. (2) students ability to complete story test after used problem solving learning. (3) the significant difference of students ability to complete story test before and after used problem solving approach. This researc was to pre experimental design, and this design is one group pretest-posttest . this research did to the threeth grade students at SDN 1 Saya, there have 24 students with 14 boys and 10 girls. Data analysis on this research are normality test, test of homogenity, paired sample t-test, and n-gain test. The result of this research: (1) Students ability to complete story test before used problem solving approach look on the pretest shown that value average of the students are 42. (2) Students ability to complete story test after used problem solving approach look on the pretest shown that value average of the students are 75.83. (3) It shown that signifanct difference of students ability to complete story test before and after used problem solving approach.Keywords: Ability to complete story test, problem solving.

Abstract

The learning process involves three important components, namely subject matter, learning activities and assessment (evaluation). Planning each learning scenario needs to always keep in mind the nature of the material to be studied by students, student readiness factors, and student motivation to learn, because what students will learn must be aware of the meaning and benefits for students and for their future lives. Efforts to raise the motivation of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Natar South Lampung in learning mathematics have been carried out by teachers in their field of study in various ways, such as providing opportunities for students to ask questions, and designing learning in the form of group discussions. Based on the fact that t arithmetic is between t < t with a significant level of 5%, the value of t = 0.98 < t = 1.76 so that Ho is accepted, the study shows that the average ability of students in the initial test of ability to learn mathematics has increased.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur kemandirian belajar siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatan Hands-On Activity dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen berupa angket kemandirian belajar matematik siswa yang terdiri dari 23 pernyataan (13 pernyataan positif dan 10 pernyataan negatif) dengan respon berdasarkan skala likert skor 1 sampai 4. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu kemandirian belajar siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Hands-On Activity tidak lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Akan tetapi, meskipun pencapaian kemandirian belajar siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Hands-On Activity tidak lebih tinggi dari siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, jika Hands-On Activity ini secara konsisten diterapkan dalam pembelajaran maka bukan tidak mungkin akan memunculkan indikator kemandirian belajar dalam sikap siswa.

Abstract

This literature review will discuss the development of challenges or disfficultie for elementary school teachers and students during the Covid-19 Priod in dealing with change incurrent education pattens. The teacher, as the key to successful learning, seeks to increase creativity in teaching. The teacher need to increase creativity and inovasi in dealing with online learning problems. The purpose of research literature is to provide an overview of the creativity a teachers in innovating during the distance learning process. This research uses qualitative methods with literature studies. The results also show that there is a descriptive significant difference between students' Multiple Intelligences ability with the creativity ability and teacher strategy development during learning amidst the implementation of SFH or Study From Home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Intelligence describes the individual's ability to complete tasks to achieve goals.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills in online learning by using instructional video media. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects were students of class VIII in a private Junior High School in Bandar Lampung City. There are two classes in this study, namely the experimental class consisted of 33 students and the control class consisted of 33 students. The experimental class received online learning using instructional video media, while the control class used the method without giving intructional videos. The research instrument used a mathematical communication ability test. The results showed that the inprovement in mathematical communication skills in the experimental class was better than the control class
