Abstract

The K-12 Education Program is a new education curriculum in the Philippines that further develops students' skills and concepts in different strands to prepare them for tertiary education and exhibit competence as lifelong learners; however, its implementation has several drawbacks. Thus, researchers identified and analyzed the typical issues that Sultan Kudarat State University –Laboratory High School SHS students faced in implementing the K-12 Education Program and dealt with those challenges and coping strategies. This study employed the qualitative research design, specifically, the phenomenological approach. Focus group discussion and individual interviews were employed to get the needed data. Based on the study findings, students perceive the new curriculum as a significant burden, with the top challenges of having more years in high school, lack of assistance, and learning facilities. They also agreed on the benefits of the new educational system, which include more knowledge and learning, increased competency, and future career chances. Despite the difficulty adjusting to the K-12 program, they tend to cope with the challenges using various coping strategies such as time management, adjustment, acceptance, peer support, as they are aware of the program's value to their academic advancement. As a result, this research can assist students in preparing for the obstacles they may face in senior high school and recommend possible coping mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in the results of the application of speech development to the formation of object vocabulary in deaf children. The approach used is a quantitative approach with the Single Subject Research (SSR) experimental method in the A-B-A design. The A-B-A design used has three phases: 1) Before the intervention/treatment is given, 2) when the treatment/intervention is given in the form of speech development (B), 3) after the treatment is given (A2). The results of the study showed the mean level of the baseline-1 phase (A-1) 43.43%, the intervention phase 47.07%, and the baseline-2 phase (A-2) 51.48%. Then, in the intervention phase (B) to baseline-1 (A-1), there was a 50% overlap, while in the intervention (B) to baseline-2 (A-2) there was no 0% overlap. Each session experienced an increase, although not significantly. The influence of the intervention on the formation of the object vocabulary of deaf children can still be said to be quite increasing because it has increased both before being treated and after being given treatment. Thus it can be concluded that the application of speech development is sufficient to increase the formation of object vocabulary in deaf children. The application of speech development is very important for deaf children so that deaf children are able to function their speech organs well and so that deaf children are able to communicate with other people, both the implementation of speech development is carried out in class or providing additional classes outside of class hours.

Abstract

The study on the Psychological Effects of Blended Learning among the Faculty of Sultan Kudarat State University was conducted to determine the blended learning and its psychological effects on the teachers. The result shows that modular learning is satisfactorily implemented while online learning is moderately implemented. When it comes to the psychological effects of blended learning in terms of teachers’ anxiety, the teachers are moderately experiencing it and in terms of teachers’ distress and boredom, the teachers are seldom experiencing it. The top 5 issues and concerns on blended learning are also asked.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the development of a solar-powered submersible pump system without the use of batteries in agriculture. The submersible pump system used a solar drive to run it. The implementation uses a combination of solar trackers, water storage tanks, power converters, and stabilizers. The results of the study explained that solar trackers increased the efficiency of solar units that track the sun throughout the day and convert solar energy into DC electrical power.

Abstract

This study explored the lived experiences of athletes of South Cotabato in the new normal. This study was done: (1) to determine the challenges of the athletes, (2) to highlight the positive responses in the situation, (3) to introduce a new framework to cope with the new normal. This study is viewed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic which is best applied as athletes transition to the new normal. It employed a qualitative research design relatively with the phenomenological approach which includes multiple online in-depth interviews from five participants. The result showed that there is a decrease in the level of physical activities engaged of which is rooted in the number of challenges that athletes are experiencing. Furthermore, significant findings explained the ways of how athletes can cope up, with mobile games as a stress reliever, increased attention in home-based training, increased value in academics, strengthened family relationships, and rest. We also developed a sustainability program that assists coaches, trainers, and parents in monitoring the athletes' well-being during the quarantine period. The study concluded that it has resulted in some negative effects on the athletes’ bodies and in the development of their skills. However, there have been emergent opportunities for positive takeaways, as well. This study provides a framework for athletes and coaches to maintain optimal performance in the new normal.

Abstract

UV-VIS spectrophotometry is one of the methods used toperform qualitative and quantitative analysis of organic andinorganic compounds. However, until now there has been nofurther research that studies and describes the detailedanalysis of UV-VIS spectral data in terms of determining thestructure of chemical compounds. Therefore, this papercontains guidelines that are used as information on how toread and interpret data from the UV-VIS spectrum in termsof determining the structure of chemical compounds. Stepson how to analyze the UV-VIS spectrum are presented. Thispaper is expected to provide useful information forresearchers and novice students who are studying UV-VISspectrophotometry.

Abstract

This study determined the development and evaluation of Lessoncast in learning selected Basic Technology concept in Ilorin Metropolis. The study adopted a design and development model type. The population for this study was 5 educational technology experts, 5 computer science experts and 5 basic technology teachers were randomly selected to participate in the study. Two research instrument were used in this study; a developed lessoncast on basic technology; an experts rating questionnaire for the selected experts. Percentage and mean were used to answer the research questions. The findings indicated that Lessoncast in upper basic technology can be successfully developed for teaching upper basic technology. Educational technology experts agreed that developed lesson cast satisfied the required expectation. This study concluded that the visual aids or materials such as lesson cast work as a powerful tool in the classroom and can be used to enhance the teaching of basic technology in Nigeria. The implication is that if Lessoncast is properly integrated into teaching and learning, it will concretize the teaching and learning of basic technology concept. Therefore, the study recommended that schools should make resources such as the Internet and computers available to basic technology teachers so as to design and develop appropriate classroom learning and teaching materials that would help to explain concepts in basic technology better.

Abstract

There is a need for a method that will shift the attention to the learners, while the lecturers play the role of facilitator of learning. One of the methods that can promote this learning style is Study Technology. Study technology is a student-centered learning technique that helps the learner to study successfully by providing solutions to all barriers encountered in the process of studying. This study investigated experts’ Evaluation of flex billboard on study technology for teaching and learning.  The findings established that the flex billboard is efficient to create an awareness on study technology and it can be operated without the use of electric power supply. It was however recommended that curriculum planner should include in its curriculum, orientation programmer for the pupils on study technology as this will aid or enhance learning process.
