Abstract

Advances in digital technology growth have become a learning solution when the Covid-19 pandemic has had a lot of positive effects in the world of education. Technology becomes a tool for some learning problems. One of them is what happened to students of State Elementary School of Lialang. The problem with the first-grade students of State Elementary School of Lialang was that there were students who find it difficult to learn and have difficulty understanding the material. The author's purpose in assisting students is to help students who do not understand the material given by the teacher. The excellent community service work program that the author does in the field of education is a mentoring program for first-grade students’ learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The activity was carried out for 1 month in July 2021 in Lialang Village, precisely at State Elementary School of Lialang, Serang City, Banten online and offline. The online learning process used Whatsapp Group Video Calls, while offline learning through visit once a week 5 to 6 students go to school for 2 hours by complying with the Covid-19 health protocols. The authors hope that the program that be implemented goes well and after the implementation of this program can help first-grade students who have difficulty in the learning process. In the future, the authors hope that the learning process during this pandemic will continue to make students enthusiastic about learning and can make the Indonesian people smarter even though trough different modes.

Abstract

Character education is an effort to build individuals to become good individuals who can benefit themselves and their environment. One form of breakthrough made by the government to implement Character Education makes Strengthening Character Education (PPK), where the program is aimed at schools in Indonesia, starting from early childhood to high school levels. Purwakarta Regency also implemented a program created by the government by applying it to farming activities. The program was named Tatanén di Balé Atikan. It is a program launched by the Purwakarta district government to build character through activities to preserve the environment. This program is prepared for students as a form of protecting the environment. This article discusses students' dedication to the school environment in carrying out a government program, Tatanén di Balé Atikan at UPTD SDN 2 Munjul Jaya. The program at this school aims to raise awareness of caring for, protecting, and preserving the surrounding environment. This program utilizes plastic waste to be employed as decoration as well as community service to clean up the environment. This activity is carried out as a community service to organize the school environment and create an ornamental garden by utilizing used goods such as greening. The Program results are expected to make school residents grow a sense of love for the environment and also maintain cleanliness.

Abstract

The occurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic has made the learning system in Indonesia change from offline to online. Online learning requires teachers to creatively and innovatively deliver subject matter because online learning depends on the ability to use technology. Some teachers at the Islamic Elementary School of Sirojul Athfal have not been able to use technology properly and faced difficulty to make learning media so which creates monotonous learning and makes students less interested in teaching and learning. Hence, students do not understand the material presented. To the problem above, the author held training on the Canva application used to support learning media creation for teachers at the Islamic Elementary School of Sirojul Athfal, Limo sub-district, Depok city. The method used in this activity is to provide training on how to use the Canva application. This activity is intended so that teachers can use the Canva application to create a variety of fun learning media to make students interested in participating in teaching and learning activities. Canva is a graphic design application that can be used to create digital learning media such as interactive presentations, e-modules, learning comics, educational posters, and so on. This training was carried out from early July until the end of July 2021 through an offline class at the Islamic Elementary School of Sirojul Athfal. The program targets in this activity were 2 teachers. Through this training activity, teachers can create interactive and fun learning media for students so that they can attract students' interest in learning The teacher feels this activity is very useful and hopes to continue.

Abstract

Google Meet and Power Point are applications and media that are often used to help with online learning or distance learning. The process of introducing the Google Meet application and Power Point media as a form of effective learning activity platforms during the Covid-19 period. The program purpose is to make students of State of Elementary School of Sindangmandi, Baros District, Serang Regency not bored in participating in online learning. This program is the goal of the UPI 2021 Thematic Field Study program as a community service in the field of Education. The method used is to provide assistance to the teachers of State of Elementary School Sindangmandi about the use of the Google Meet application and Power Point media. It is intended so that the teachers can use these applications and media as online learning media in online learning. The authors hope the workshop and assistance will bring effective learning because of the interaction between teachers and students. The assistance was carried out during July 2021. The assistance was carried out offline at school and the discussion stage was online through WhatsApp groups. The target of this program is the teacher council of State of Elementary School of Sindangmandi who were still not familiar with the use of the application. With this activity, the teacher of State of Elementary School Sindangmandi can succeed in making Power Point media and use them in virtual meeting through Google Meet.

Abstract

The Bendungan area is one of the areas in Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency. The rapid spread of Covid-19 and its impact on various sectors was also felt by the Bendungan community. This Community Service is motivated by the existence of fully online learning as a result of Covid-19 when there are rumors that online learning is less effective because there has been no maximum preparation from field implementers, parents, and students, as well as in terms of regulations and facilities. online learning infrastructure. Therefore, the author has the desire to conduct an initial study as the basis for an action program to increase the level of effectiveness of learning, because there should be no missing learning content during this pandemic. The purpose of this program is to find out the effectiveness of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at the elementary school level in the Bendungan area, Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency. The program method used is a review of learning assistance method through a survey. The instrument used, namely the Google form questionnaire which was distributed online via the WhatsApp Group. In this study, there were 30 grade 3 students. Based on the results of the program, namely the lack of effectiveness of online learning due to obstacles One of the obstacles that make online learning less effective is the student economy, internet connection, and teacher-student interaction. So the preparation of the assistance program needed by students is in the form of a facility and psychological assistance program. Facility assistance programs can be carried out by related agencies and authorities but also by non-governmental organizations. Meanwhile, psychological strengthening assistance for students must involve parents. The results of this survey program are expected to become the basis for policymakers to resolve similar problems

Abstract

During the pandemic, all levels of education, including kindergarten, were required to use technology as a medium for conveying learning messages. This community service aimed to develop the ability of teachers to digital literacy at the Pembina Kalianda State Kindergarten, through education and assistance on the procedures for making digital comics and using the InShot software application. The approach used in this research is gradual training and mentoring. The target subjects in this community service were the teachers of the Pembina Kalianda State Kindergarten. The stages that are passed in this program are preparation, implementation, and assistance. The success of this community service program can be seen through data from interviews, observation, and documentation results. The results showed that by introducing technology users through education and assistance on the procedures for making digital comics and procedures for using the InShot software app, teachers at the Pembina Kalianda State Kindergarten could identify and begin to recognize Digital Literacy and could create digital-based learning media, namely Digital Comics and know how to use them (InShot app Digital Comic). Digital literacy through Digital Comics can attract the attention of teachers to know more about digital-based learning media for AUD and help improve the quality of teachers in providing lessons to their students so that teachers can innovate learning media in kindergarten

Abstract

GCompris is an educational game with many choices of game categories that are suitable for early childhood. Introducing the GCompris educational game application as a form of learning activity at home so that children can continue to study comfortably and not easily get bored with parents of students at the State Kindergarten School of RA Kartini, Majasari District, Pandeglang Regency is the goal of the 2021 UPI Thematic community service program activity as a form of community service. The method used in this activity is to provide an introduction and socialization about the use of GCompris educational game learning media for children. This activity is intended because kindergarten students need learning media that are not boring while at home. The socialization of the introduction of this educational game was carried out from July to September 2021. The socialization was carried out offline at school and online through the WhatsApp group. The program targets in this activity are 10 parents of the State Kindergarten School of RA Kartini students. Through this activity, parents of students at the State Kindergarten School of RA Kartini can find out educational games that are useful for children as digital learning media and can be accessed easily at home. At the end of the program, parents feel the benefits from understanding the potential of the application and how to introduce to their children.

Abstract

The use of effective learning media for students is a non-negotiable need. Especially during the pandemic, the online learning system requires teachers to be creative in preparing interesting and fun teaching materials for students so that the information conveyed in learning can be effectively accepted and understood by students. In today's world of education, infographics can be a new option for teachers in delivering lessons to their students. By using infographics as teaching aids, it is as if we are telling a visual story to our students. This community service in the form of a workshop aimed to help elementary school teachers of the UPI Serang Campus Teaching Laboratory Elementary School in improving their skills in making infographic learning media. It is hoped that the results of this community service is to make Teaching Laboratory Elementary School teachers to be able to make infographic learning media to be an alternative in presenting learning media that support an effective and fun learning process for students.

Abstract

In the current era, a kindergarten teacher or educator must be smarter in sorting the available digital content based on children's developmental achievements but still freely and easily accessible. Mobile application is one preferable media that can be utilized. This community service aimed to (1) introduce and provide training on the use of android application-based digital learning media for preschoolers to kindergarten educators in Serang City, Banten, and (2) examine the level of satisfaction of kindergarten educators regarding content presented in the Giat Bergerak and EduGame MARU applications. This community service used online training methods through the Zoom application, targeting 45 early childhood educators. Stages of activities include preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the results of activities. The Giat Bergerak mobile application consists of content for gross and fine motor activities, educational games, and information on children's health and safety; while the EduGame MARU application contains content introducing and playing simple concepts of numbers, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. Furthermore, on average above 90% of early childhood educators who participated in the program expressed their satisfaction with the Giat Bergerak and EduGame MARU applications which were seen from four aspects, namely content quality, alignment of learning objectives, feedback, and motivation.

Abstract

Mentoring students while studying is something that is very much needed in covid-19 period because it becomes an effort so that students can achieve their goals in learning. In students’ mentoring, it is also carried out in order to foster self-confidence, have a sense of comfort when learning, grow attitudes and noble behaviors that are creative, innovative and desire to move forward. An effort to achieve learning goals it is not easy so that learning intentions are needed that grow in the child himself, so that children can think well. Young learner, especially at the elementary school level, is where children need concrete objects in every delivery of material given by the teacher. The concrete forms given by the teacher will make it easier for students to reason or imagine something, it can also be something interesting and fun. Through this thematic community service, authors conducted student assistance which was carried out at Ma'rifatul Ulum Islamic Elementary School, Kaliwedi Sub-district, Cirebon, West Java. It is an effort to achieve goals in learning and make PowerPoint media as an alternative for teachers in delivering a material so that the concept of the material being taught can be responded well by students. The assistance for 123 hours through social media platforms is carried out for grade II and V elementary school students The result of this program is that students become motivated to learn during this pandemic after the implementation of blended learning. This assistance is considered very useful in increasing the willingness to learn and can be developed in other forms.
