Abstract

This study aims to determine the types and patterns of errors that occur in short story writing in trilingual students of grade VII at Tzu Chi International School, so that the types and patterns of language errors can be used as guidelines in compiling teaching materials for short story writing in an international schools (SPK). The method in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The source of the data for this research is a short story that written by grade VII Tzu Chi International School students. The results obtained from 32 samples there were 316 errors consisting of errors in spelling, diction, affixes, and sentence structure aspects. The most language errors were in the spelling aspect, totally 114 errors (36%) including errors in writing capital letters, writing pronouns, writing prepositions, writing acronyms, rewriting words, writing numbers, using absorption words, and using punctuation marks, then errors on the diction aspect, there are 85 errors (26.8 %), including errors in finding the appropriate form (suitable) with the situation and the sense of Bahasa Indonesia native speakers. Errors in the affix aspect 80 errors (25.3%), which included errors in the omission of the affix field and in the word formation, errors in sounds that should have melted, but were not melted, errors in the yielding of sounds that should not have melted, replacement and shortening of morphs, and the use of inappropriate affixes and errors in the aspect of sentence structure as many as 37 errors (11.7%) including excessive wording and use of elements, unsubjected sentence errors, unpredicated sentences, and ambiguous sentences. Keywords: Language errors, diction aspect, spelling aspect, affix aspect, sentence structure aspect and ability to write short stories

Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of bilingualism and multilingualism, as well as language attitudes in the people of Subang. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. The data source is a list of the intensity of language use and language attitudes used by the people in Subang in their daily interactions. Respondents in this study amounted to 103 respondents based on social indices such as differences in gender, age, and level of education. The research instrument used is the instrument "Basa Urang" from Chon. The data analysis of this study used the model recommended by Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of the study concluded as follows: 1) the people of Subang are bilingual and multilingual people; 2) the language attitude of the people of Subang to local languages, national languages, and foreign languages tends to be positive. Keywords: bilingualism, multilingualism, language attitudes, siciolinguistics

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to identify the types of socio-cultural and educational values found in the film Fir Family using the semiotics study of Charles Sanders Pierce's concept. Data is obtained from screenshots of each scene and dialogue that contains socio-cultural and educational values. Cemara Family film contains 6 socio-cultural values according to Spinger, namely theory, economics, solidarity/gotong-royong, religion, art, and power. As for the value of education there are 9 educational values from 12 educational values according to El Mubarok. Found 4 educational values that belong to the category of embodied values. These values include the values of courage, peace, confidence and potential, as well as naiveness. On the other hand, there are 5 educational values that fall into the category of giving values. These values include loyalty and trust, respect, love and compassion, selflessness and kindness and kindness are found in film scenes and dialogue. Cemara Family is a film released in 2019 directed by Yandi Laurens and the main cast of this film is Abah played by Ringgo Agus Rahman. Mother, played by Nirina Zubir. Euis is played by Zara JKT48, and Ara is played by the daughter of singer Widy B3, Widuri Putri Sasono. The film Keluarga Cemara emphasizes the 'true story' of young Indonesian families who must dare to slam the steering wheel when the main job that has been pursued so far must fall because of various problems. From being a Director in a company, to being a building porter to becoming a Gojek motorcycle driver to keep supporting existing families. Abstract

The research aims to analyze the ideological clash in the Perempuan Bersampur Merah novel created by Intan Andaru through characters and sacrifices and background. The research Approach use qualitative approach to describe shape, impact, and exploitation ideology through figures and characterization in social group. The research method is used bibliography method. To analyze novel’s elements Intrinsic use Charles Morris semiotic structure approach, An Analysis Discourse Critical model Norman Fairclough is used to analyze novel’s elements extrinsic. Based on the research results, The flow of Perempuan Bersampur Merah novel was jumping not sequentially with chronological event. Plot framed with event from the past. Character main is Sari. Theme is about human feeling. Room and Time relate with events in Banyuwangi in 1998. The ideology formation of novel is depicted by Intan Andaru as following : The ideology of society group that against culture infatuation that links with witchcraft clash with The ideology group people who think witchcraft and infatuated is culture that must be preserved, Next The of group apparatus and party weak security that should be give protection clash with the ideology of group vigilante society group oppressive dominant witch doctor with the stigma of a shaman witchcraft clash with group helpful shaman treatment Then ideology of equality and Justice voice group clash with ideology of group people who are trying cover events ever was happen. Keywords: Analysis Discourse Critical, Ideological clash, Perempuan Bersampur Merah novel.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of perceptions on learning models and linguistic intelligence on the ability to write short stories. The research method used is a survey research method with multiple regression analysis. The research sample amounted to 50 people. The results of this study illustrate: (1) There is a significant effect of perception on the learning model and linguistic intelligence on the ability to write short stories for state high school students in Sukabumi District. (2) There is a significant influence on the perception of the learning model on the ability to write short stories. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to show the cosmopolitan behavior of the characters in the novel Kapas-Kapas Di Langit by Pipiet Senja based on a review of the sociology of literature and its implementation for literary learning in SMA/MA.  This research is qualitative, with a descriptive method, and uses content analysis techniques on a primary data to be studied.  The data that becomes the object of research is a novel entitled Kapas-Kapas Di Langit by Pipiet Senja.  The results of the discussion found an analysis of 7 (seven) cosmopolitan identities as many as 26 findings, including (a) global or local hybridization that has common interests as many as 3 analysis findings, (b) competence (intercultural) in respecting local cultural diversity as much as 2 analysis findings.  , (c) willingness and openness to involve themselves in cultural diversity as many as 6 analysis findings, (d) mobility to travel as much as 1 analysis finding, (e) refusing the "tourist" type approach as many as 4 analysis findings, (  f) desire to be able to feel variations in citizenship and postmodern as many as 4 analysis findings, and (g) critical attitude towards their own nation and country of origin as many as 6 analysis findings. Keywords: Cosmopolitan, novel, sociology of literature.

Abstract

This study is to analyse the methode and material of Bahasa Indonesia Business Comunication for foreigner textbook level 1 students published by UMN Press 2019. This study uses qualitative describtive approach. The data source used is the BIPA Comunication Business textbook for BIPA level 1 students. This research focuses on the feasibility of method and content aspect. The instrument used is in the form of an analysis sheet of the textbook feasibility assessment theory based on Hartono (2016) which analyse in each unit on. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the BIPA Business textbook level 1 students is “quite feasible” to use, with an eligibility percentage of 90 %. Most of the shortcomings of the textbook are caused by the lack of links and references as well as the incompatibility of the material and vocabulary with the learning targets and elements of BIPA Comunication Business level 1 competence. Keywords: Methode; Material; Bahasa Indonesia for foreigner.

Abstract

The novel Revenge of the Orphans by Sintha Rosse tells the story of the life full of struggles of the main character in achieving his goals. This study aims to describe: (1) the psychological aspects of the main character based on Sigmund Freud's theory; (2) educational values in the novel Revenge of the Orphans; and (4) the relevance of personality aspects and educational values in novels with Indonesian language learning. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data in this study are in the form of paragraphs contained in the novel and the data sources for the study as well as reference books related to research. The results of this study are the discovery of (1) personality aspects of the id, ego, and superego of the main character, namely Malik, (2) educational values, namely religious values, moral values, social values, and cultural values, (4) the relevance of personality aspects and education values in novels with Indonesian language learning.  Keywords: Novel, psychology literature, educational value.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze self-actualization and educational values contained in Sintha Rosse Kamlet Bocah Penghalau Kera novel based on Abraham Maslow's humanistic psychology. The research method used was descriptive qualitative method and content analysis technique. The results showed: 1) Self-actualization was found to be more dominant in this novel as much as 60% % while the value of education was 40%. Eight groups of characters who show self-actualization are found entirely in this novel. The most dominant self-actualization, namely. From the self-actualization data found in the novel Bocah Penghalau Kera, there are 8 groups of self-actualization, starting with the most frequently occurring ones: (1) independence-independence 25 quotes (23.81%), (2) peak experience 18 quotes (17.14 %), (3) focused on democratic issues 16 quotes (15.24%), (4) creativity-appreciation 15 quotes (14.29%), (5) interpersonal relations-acceptance 11 quotes (10.48%), (6) social reality-awareness 10 quotes (9.52%), (7) spontaneity-sense of humor 6 quotes (5.71%), (8) needing solitude 4 quotes (3.81 %). The most common educational value found was the value of divinity education, which was 36 quotes (51.43%), followed by the value of moral education as many as 12 quotes (17.14%), the value of aesthetic education as many as 10 quotes (14.29%), the value of social education is 8 citations (11.43%), and the value of cultural education is 4 citations (5.71%). In this novel, the author provides an example of making life more meaningful through self-actualization of the protagonist, maximizing all his efforts, developing his talents and potentials, never giving up on achieving his goals and achieving the desired success. The author also conveys good values so that readers can wisely take lessons that are expected to be applied in everyday life. Keywords: Self-actualization, educational value, pshycology, character, novel Bocah Penghalau Kera.

Abstract

The research objectives are 1) To describe the elements of the characters, characterizations, settings, and plots that shape the struggles of the characters in the novel "Ibu Ketika Surga Itu Harus Pergi" by Utami Panca Dewi. 2) Describe the struggles of the characters in the novel "Ibu Ketika Surga Itu Harus Pergi " by Utami Panca Dewi. 3) Describe the implementation of the results of the struggles of the characters in the novel " Ibu Ketika Surga Itu Harus Pergi " by Utami Panca Dewi in learning literature in Junior High School. The research used is qualitative research, namely finding something useful based on existing facts, by producing descriptive data. The method used in this research is the sociology of literature method. The conclusions obtained from the research of the dominant struggle are the values of patience and unyielding spirit. For the analysis of the sociology of literature there are aspects of beauty, history, and sociology. In addition, the relationship between the author and society is also influential in the sociology of literature research. Social background, ideology, and social integrity influence authors in making novels. The relationship with the community in the story shows that the sense of social, familial, empathetic, and caring is still very high.
