Abstract

Increasing tourist activities in Batu City makes agricultural land conversion unavoidable. This research aims to determining the lost economic value of food commodities due to converted agricultural land area and labor shift. The conversion area of agricultural land in all areas can be identified through Landsat image 8 ETM+ in 2017 and 2021. An overlay analysis using ArcGIS 10.2 software with 7 variables was then utilized to determine land capability and land suitability. Then, it was combined with the survey results of 334 land price points to determine the distribution of agricultural land prices in Batu City by using Kriging interpolation analysis. The results of the research show that the agricultural land area has decreased in the past 4 years by 169.96 Ha, with a lost economic value of approximately 5 billion Indonesian rupiah. The agricultural land price in Batu City is divided into 4 classifications. The results indicate that the agricultural land price is high, so it accelerates the agricultural land conversion. Therefore, the government should pay close attention to land conversion.

A community is a forum where individuals gather to form a group that takes the initiative to start a process of activities that can improve the situation and condition oneself to carry out positive actions to solve community welfare problems. In addition, the community plays an active role as a forum for distributing various information and promoting tourist attractions. This study explores tourism promotion through a community, especially cultural tourism in Ternate City, North Maluku, Indonesia. This community is called the Ternate heritage Society Community (THS). This study used an ethnographic qualitative approach, and data collection was obtained through observation,  interviews, and documentation. This study was conducted in Ternate City using Charmaz's approach. The results of this study show that THS has used a community branding strategy as a form of cultural tourism promotion in Ternate City. Based on the findings, the community covers two aspects—Branding and medium of Promotion. In terms of branding, it can be defined that branding of a cultural community refers to cultural identity, agent of change, and internalized cultural values. Six indicators formed this definition—existing role models, establishing community categories, being motivated, timelines, and character uniqueness of the community. Regarding the medium of Promotion, THS has been an agent of Promotion by optimizing digital marketing for millennials. Future studies are also suggested on promoting cultural heritage to the youth.

Abstract

Food security has become a global problem in the midst of a war which resulted in an increase in fuel prices followed by an increase in the price of basic necessities, especially our main staple food, namely rice. Overcoming this, the government is expected to pay attention to the welfare of farmers so that farmers are still able to produce to be able to meet food needs in the country. This requires the government's attention in providing counseling and training to farmers in increasing their ability to adopt technology to be applied in the agricultural sector so that production output can be increased and maintain sustainability in the domestic agricultural sector. Technology adoption theory is the main focus in improving the welfare of farmers, this is due to the benefits of information technology as a supporting sector in the production process so as to be able to increase output in a shorter span of time. The higher the ability of farmers to adopt technological developments, the higher their ability to cultivate production land which is able to increase production yields so that it will be followed by an increase in farmer welfare.

Abstract

In this century, consumers as product users are becoming more critical and picky in their product selection due to technological and economic advances in the global market. Competition in the industrial sector and client satisfaction necessitate constant innovation by companies. A company that prioritises quality rather than quantity will have an advantage in the global market because not all companies can achieve and sustain high levels of quality. Wahana Interfood Nusantara Company is Indonesia's most complete cocoa bean processing company under the SCHOKO brand. The company processes raw cocoa beans to produce high-quality chocolate and cocoa products. One of the products that experienced a defect at the company was the white couverture chocolate product. The problem statement of this study was what types of defects contribute to the poor quality of white couverture chocolate, what factors contribute to the defects, analyse of the data collected during the production process of the product to come up with root causes and identify the optimum solution. This study uses the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). They obtained 5 Critical to Quality: broken, cracked, peeled-off, soft, and porous. The DPMO value was 4788.49, and the Sigma value was 2.496, which means that the white couverture chocolate production process is in Indonesia's average Sigma value industry. It was found that 80% of the most dominant defects were peeled off (38.5%), cracked (28.7%), and broken (25.3%). Suggestions for improvements are given to carry out regular machine maintenance, conduct employee training, and carry out SOPs correctly.

Abstract

The research aims to; Finding the substantive responsibility of ad hoc judges in deciding cases of gross violations of human rights based on the principle of distributive justice according to Aristotle. Find personal arrangements for the procedural responsibilities of ad hoc judges according to the provisions of Indonesian legislation. Evaluating administrative responsibilities through oversight mechanisms conducted on ad hoc human rights judges. Normative juridical methods are used in research. The results of the study that ad hoc judges decide cases of gross violations of human rights do not consider the legal elements of gross violations of human rights.    The evidentiary procedure is weak because ad hoc judges are institutionally independent and personally not because the influence of the chief justice is still there. Bawasmari's internal oversight is inadequate as the judge's disciplinary examination is not transparent. This research aims to 1) Find the substantive responsibilities of ad hoc judges in deciding cases of gross violations of human rights (HAM) based on the principle of distributive justice according to Aristotle. 2) Find the regulation of procedural responsibility of ad hoc judges personally according to the provisions of legislation in Indonesia. 3) Evaluate the admi nistrative responsibility through the supervision mechanism carried out on ad hoc judges, more specifically judges in human rights courts. This research method uses a normative juridical approach or an approach that examines the law as a rule, also called doctrinal legal research, because this research is conducted or aimed at written regulations. The results showed that the responsibility of ad hoc judges in deciding cases of gross violations of human rights should use the elements of the law of gross violations of human rights (HAM) but the fact that it is ruled out means that the judge's decision is considered unfair because it does not comply with existing legal standards, as well as the responsibility of judges in applying the evidentiary system in the legal process is weak. It was also found that the procedures for resolving gross violations of human rights have been implemented, but currently judges are institutionally independent and personally not so, therefore their decisions are certainly not fully independent, because they are influenced by many factors such as the influence of the head of the court or other issues from outside the judge. The internal supervision mechanism by the Supervisory Board of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia is still considered half-hearted because the quality and integrity of supervision is inadequate, as seen in the process of disciplinary examination of judges that is not transparent.
