Abstract

Background: Patients after undergoing arthroplasty surgery will experience several changes in carrying out functional activities and daily routines. This is due to altered joint and muscle function due to decreased strength and limited range of motion after arthroplasty surgery. Post-hip arthroplasty conditions require comprehensive treatment so as not to cause impairment/disability that will interfere with function and gait. How effective is the early postoperative exercise program in preventing further decline in ability and speeding recovery? Methods: This exercise program is given since the patient has finished surgery and is gradually progressing to standing and walking exercises. This research was conducted on patients in the inpatient room of RS Ortopedi Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta. Assessment and evaluation of post-hip arthroplasty results using the Harris Hip Score functional index before and after being given an exercise program. Results: The statistical test showed that the data was not normally distributed (p<0.05) and the results of the influence test using the Wilcoxon Test showed that there was an effect of early postoperative exercise on reducing pain (p=0.005) and increasing the Harris Hip Score (HHS) index. The result of the action is that there is an increase in functional ability in post-hip arthroplasty patients. Conclusion: Based on this study, it can be concluded that the program of giving exercise therapy as early as possible in post-hip arthroplasty patients can accelerate recovery and improve functional ability.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the infectious diseases that causes many deaths in the world. One of the successes in reducing the death rate due to TB is with anti-tuberculosis treatment efforts. However, adherence to treatment is a serious problem because the results are still far from what is expected. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of adherence and what factors affect TB patients in treatment during the pandemic. This research was a descriptive analysis study with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples was as high as 261 people. The measuring instrument used was the Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS). The validity and reliability showed that all questions were valid with a correlation value of > 0.396 and a Cronbach coefficient of 0.803. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the factors influencing adherence to taking OAT in TB patients were age, education level, employment status, marital status, location of residence, and income level. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed the dominant factor having the most influence on compliance was the level of education. Respondents with a high school education level have a tendency to have a good compliance level of 22,077 times compared to respondents with a lower level of education.

Abstract

Flexibility is ability of a joint, muscles and ligaments around it to move freely and comfortably within the maximum expected range of motion. Flexibility is influenced by many factors such as anatomical condition, gender, body mass index, age, physical activity, injury, and training experience. The hamstring muscles are primarily fast-twitch and powerful movement types, so that the hamstrings are resistant to overloading but tire quickly on excessive repetitions. Excessive activity that involves contracting the hamstring muscles will cause the hamstring muscles to experience decreased flexibility. The purpose of this study was to prove the difference in the effect of giving neurodynamic slider and neurodynamic tension on increasing hamstring muscle flexibility. The method of research is experimental research with pre-test and post-test research design with control group design. The sample in this study was 32 dancers Rantaya Putri Alus at SMK N 8 Surakarta. where Group 1 given neurodynamic sliders and group 2 given nothing. Neurodynamic slider interventions were given 3 times/week for 4 weeks. Evaluation of hamstring muscle flexibility measurements using Active Knee Extension (AKE). The result in the treatment Group 1 is p = 0.000 (p <0.05) with a mean difference of 25.56 ± 7.36 with an increase in the AKE value 18.16%. Its concluded that the intervention of neurodynamic sliders can increase hamstring muscle flexibility.
