Entalpi Pendidikan Kimia is a journal that aims to share findings, result and review of research done by scholars in the filed of chemistry education. Entalpi Pendidikan Kimia Journal publishes either research articles or reviews that relate to the field of chemistry education. Abstract

Research and development (R&D) is a research to develop and produce new products. R&D is used in this research to produce a new product in the form of a scientific approach module using probing and prompting questions on acid and alkaline materials along with revealing the validity and practicality of the module using 4-D development model. There are 4 steps taken, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Time and cost limitations prevent the disseminate stage from being realized. Questionnaires for validity and practicality are instruments used in collecting data. Using the Aiken's V formula in data analysis, the validity category was obtained for the validity test with an average V value of 0.90. For the practicality test of the teacher and students, the very practical category was obtained with an average percentage of practicality of 87% and 85%, respectively. From the results of the study, it was concluded that the module was declared practical and was also valid for use in the learning process. This research is suggested to the next researchers who are interested in conducting further research in order to reveal what has not been done in this research. Penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) merupakan suatu penelitian untuk mengembangkan dan menghasilkan produk baru. R&D digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan produk baru berbentuk modul pendekatan saintifik menggunakan pertanyaan probing dan prompting pada materi asam dan basa disertai mengungkap kevalidan dan kepraktisan modul menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D. Ada 4 tahapan yang dilakukan, yaitu Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate. Keterbatasan waktu dan biaya menyebabkan tahap disseminate tidak terealisasi. Angket validitas dan praktikalitas adalah instrumen yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Menggunakan formula Aiken’s V dalam analisa data diperoleh kategori valid untuk uji validitas dengan nilai V rata-rata sebesar 0,90. Untuk uji praktikalitas dari guru dan siswa diperoleh kategori sangat praktis dengan rata-rata persentase praktikalitas masing-masing sebesar 87% dan 85%. Dari hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa modul pendekatan saintifik yang menggunakan pertanyaan probing dan prompting materi asam dan basa dinyatakan praktis dan juga sudah valid digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini disarankan kepada peneliti berikutnya yang berminat melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut agar dapat mengungkapkan hal yang belum dilakukan dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

Currently the 2013 curriculum applies scientific approach in learning activities to develop self-potential by sharpening the mindset of students to be more active and creative. To realize these goals, learning methods and media must be carefully selected. This research will produce an e-module based on a scientific approach with probing and prompting questions for hydrocarbon material. The probing and prompting questions are used to familiarize students with answering questions so that the development of students' thinking patterns can be maximized. Research & Development (R & D) is a type of research that is used with 4-D as a development model.  The 4-D stages include: define, design, develop and disseminate. The disseminate stage was not carried out due to time and cost limitations. The research was only carried out until the develop stage, namely the validity and practicality test. Validity and practicality sheets were used as data collection instruments. The e-module validation was carried out by 5 validators, while the practicality of the e-module was carried out by 3 chemistry teachers and 30 students of SMAN 12 Padang. The research data processing used the Kappa Cohen formula. The e-module validity values obtained were 0.87 and the practicality values by teachers and students were 0.88 and 0.83.  Based on these three values, the hydrocarbon e-module based on a scientific approach with probing and prompting questions is declared valid and practically used in the learning process. Saat ini kurikulum 2013 menerapkan tahapan saintifik dalam kegiatan pembelajaran  untuk mengembangkan potensi diri dengan mengasah pola pikir siswa menjadi lebih aktif dan kreatif. Untuk mewujudkan tujuan tersebut, metode dan media pembelajaran harus dipilih dengan cermat. Penelitian ini akan menghasilkan e-modul berbasis pendekatan saintifik dengan pertanyaan probing dan prompting untuk materi hidrokarbon. Pertanyaan probing dan prompting digunakan untuk membiasakan siswa dalam menjawab pertanyaan sehingga pengembangan pola pikir siswa dapat dioptimalkan. Research & development (R & D) merupakan jenis penelitian yang digunakan dengan 4-D sebagai model pengembangannya. Tahapan 4-D meliputi: define, design, develop dan disseminate. Tahap disseminate tidak dilakukan karena keterbatasan waktu dan biaya. Penelitian hanya dilakukan sampai tahap develop, yaitu uji validitas dan praktikalitas. Lembar validitas dan praktikalitas digunakan sebagai instrumen pengumpulan data. Validasi e-modul dilakukan oleh 5 orang validator, sedangkan praktikalitas e-modul dilakukan oleh 3 orang guru kimia dan 30 orang siswa SMAN 12 Padang. Pengolahan data penelitian menggunakan formula Kappa Cohen. Nilai validitas e-modul yang didapatkan sebesar 0,87 dan nilai praktikalitas oleh guru dan siswa sebesar 0,88 dan 0,83. Berdasarkan ketiga nilai tersebut, maka e-modul hidrokarbon berbasis pendekatan saintifik dengan pertanyaan probing dan prompting dinyatakan valid dan praktis digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The 2013 curriculum emphasizes students to be active in learning independently, have the skills to think and act, be critical, independent, productive, good cooperation and communicative. One of the curriculum demands can be realized by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in the learning process. This study aims to produce PBL-based worksheets on colloidal system materials that are valid and practical. The research implementation uses the R&D method. The development stage uses a 4D model consisting of define, design, develop and deploy which is limited to development due to time and cost limitations. The research was conducted by testing the validity and practicality of the resulting LKPD. Based on the research data obtained, 5 validators have a validity of 0.87 with a valid category. Practicality that was carried out to 3 teachers had a value of 91.67% in the very practical category and practicality to 30 students of class XI IPA had a practicality value of 88.5% in the very practical category. Abstract

Electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions are one of the materials in SMA/MA class X chemistry. The materials of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions can be understood well through their macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic representations. This study aims to develop interactive PowerPoint learning media based on guided inquiry on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution material for class X SMA/MA which is in accordance with the characteristics of the material and the demands of the 2013 curriculum. (define, design, develop, and disseminate). This research is limited to the develop stage. Testing the validity and practicality of interactive PowerPoint learning media based on guided inquiry on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution material using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The subjects of the validity test of this interactive PowerPoint learning media were three chemistry department lecturers and two MAN chemistry teachers. The practicality test subjects of this interactive PowerPoint learning media were two MAN 5 chemistry teachers and twenty MAN 5 Mandailing Natal students. The data obtained from the questionnaire were processed using the kappa moment to obtain the k value of each validity and practicality test item. The interactive learning media of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions produced in this study had a validity k value of 0.86 and practicality by teachers and students obtaining k values of 0.895 and 0.89, with very high criteria of validity and practicality. Larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit merupakan salah satu materi dalam kimia SMA/MA kelas X. Materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit dapat dimengerti dengan baik melalui representasi makroskopik, submikroskopik, dan simboliknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran PowerPoint interaktif berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit  kelas X SMA/MA yang sesuai dengan karakteristik materi dan tuntutan kurikulum 2013. Penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk jenis penelitian pengembangan (research and development) dengan model 4-D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate). Penelitian ini dibatasi sampai tahap develop. Pengujian validitas dan praktikalitas media pembelajaran PowerPoint interaktif berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit menggunakan instrumen berupa angket. Subjek uji validitas media pembelajara PowerPoint interaktif  ini adalah tiga orang dosen jurusan kimia dan dua orang guru kimia MAN. Subjek uji praktikalitas media pembelajaran PowerPoint interaktif ini adalah dua orang guru kimia MAN 5 dan dua puluh orang siswa MAN 5 Mandailing Natal. Data yang dihasilakan dari angket diolah memakai momen kappa untuk memperoleh nilai k setiap item uji validitas dan praktikalitas. Media pembelajaran interaktif larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit yang dihasilkan pada penelitian ini memiliki nilai k kevalidan 0,86 dan kepraktisan oleh guru dan siswa memperoleh nilai k 0.895 dan 0.89, dengan kriteria kevalidan dan kepraktisan sangat tinggi.

Abstract

Thermochemistry is a topic of many chemical reaction equations and calculations so that students experience difficulties in learning. The purpose of this research is to develop a structured inquiry-based thermochemistry module 11th grade and reveal the validity and practice of developed modules. Research and development (R&D) is a type of research that is developed. There are 4 4-D models: Define; design; develop; and disseminate. This study only up to the stage of development, the test validity and practical.The research instrument used an observation sheet questionnaire The results of the analysis of the validity test data obtained kappa moment of 0.76 which is categorized as high. Obtained the mean kappa moment from the teacher of 1 is categorized as very high in the analysis of practicality test data and from students 0.94 is category as very high. Based on the results of this study, the structured inquiry-based thermochemistry module for 11th grade is valid and practical. Materi termokimia adalah materi yang banyak persamaan reaksi dan perhitungan kimia sehingga siswa kesulitan belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengembangkan modul termokimia berbasis inkuiri terstruktur kelas XI SMA dan mengungkapkan valid dan praktisnya modul yang dikembangkan. Penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) adalah jenis penelitian yang dikembangkan. Ada 4 model 4-D yaitu: pendefisian (define); perancangan (design); pengembangan (develop); dan penyebaran (disseminate). Penelitian ini hanya sampai tahap pengembangan, yaitu uji kevalidan dan kepraktisan. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan angket lembar observasi. Hasil analisis data uji kevalidan diperoleh momen kappa rata-rata sebesar 0,76 dikatergorikan tinngi. Diperoleh momen kappa rata-rata dari guru sebesar 1 dikategorikan sangat tinggi analisis data uji kepraktisan dan dari siswa 0,94 dikategorikan sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut maka modul termokimia berbasis inkuiri terstruktur kelas XI SMA sudah valid dan praktis.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe chemical ludo game is a learning media that is useful as an exercise to strengthen the stabilization of students' thermochemical concepts. This study aims to develop the ludo-chemistry game media against thermochemical material and determine the level of validity of the chemical ludo-play media. This type of research is a Educational Desaian Research with a PLomp development model. The development of the ludo chemistry game is limited to the expert review stage. Data were collected using a validation questionnaire. Validation was carried out by four validators, and for the 0ne to one test, it was carried out by three students. The data analysis technique used Aikens V. The results of the media validation test had a V value of 0.85 with the valid category. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to produce a variety of exercises in the form of the Chemical Snakes and Ladders Game to strengthen students concepts on the Atomic Structure material and determine the level of validity of the media function. This type of research is Educational Design Research with a Plomp model consisting of 3 stages, namely: (1) preliminary research, (2) prototyping phase and (3) assessment phase. This research is limited to the stages of prototyping and formative evaluation to the stage of one to one and expert review. The expert review assessment was carried out with a validity test by 3 chemistry teachers at SMAN 7 Padang and 2 chemistry lecturers from FMIPA UNP. The data was sourced from validity questionnaire which was then analyzed using the Aiken's V formula. Abstract

ABSTRACTLearning media is a tool used to support the learning process. The use of learning media in the teaching and learning process can generate new desires and interests, generate motivation and simulation for learning activities and even bring psychological effects on students. One of the ideal demands of 2013 curriculum is the use of ICT to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of learning. One of the learning media that can be used is interactive PowerPoint learning media. This research aim to produces interactive PowerPoint learning media on thermochemistry material for class XI SMA/MA which is valid and practical. The research method applied is R & D with a 4D development model, which has four stages, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. Limited to the develop stage. The validity test was determined by a validation sheet filled out by 5 validators consisting of 2 chemistry lecturers and 3 chemistry teachers with a construct validity test result of 0.88 and a content validity test of 1 with a valid category. Pemakaian media pembelajaran dalam proses belajar-mengajar dapat membangkitkan keinginan dan minat yang baru, membangkitkan motivasi dan ransangan kegiatan belajar, dan bahkan membawa pengaruh-pengaruh psikologi terhadap peserta didik. Salah satu tuntutan ideal Kurikulum 2013 adalah pemanfaatan TIK untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas pembelajaran. Salah satu media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan adalah media pembelajaran PowerPoint interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran PowerPoint interaktif pada materi termokimia kelas XI SMA/MA yang valid dan praktis. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan R & D dengan model pengembangan 4D, yang memiliki empat tahap yaitu define, design, develop dan disseminate. Dibatasi sampai tahap develop. Uji validitas ditentukan dengan lembar validasi yang diisi oleh 5 orang validator yang terdiri dari 2 orang dosen kimia dan 3 orang guru kimia dengan hasil ujivaliditas konstruk sebesar 0.88 dan uji validitas konten sebesar 1 dengan kategori valid. Abstract

ABSTRACTChemical equilibrium is part of material studied in odd semester of 2nd grade Senior High School. One of the learning models used to study this material is the Problem Based Learning. This development research aims to produce and determine its validity category of modules. This research was a Research and Development (R&D) using the plomp model developed by Tjer Plomp. This model consists of 3 main stages, (1)Preliminary Stage ; (2) Prototyping Stage; (3) Asessment Phase. This research was limited to Prototyping Stage of validity test. The research instrument was a validity questionnaire given to two lecturers from Department of Chemistry, of FMIPA UNP and two chemistry teachers at SMA Negeri 3 Padang. Abstract

ABSTRACTMisconception is the discrepancy of a concept with a scientific understanding that is agreed upon by experts. The aim of this study was to identify the misconceptions experienced by students in the salt hydrolysis material. The research data was obtained through a three-tier diagnostic test consisting of 21 questions. This research involved a sample of 50 students of class XI IPA 4 and XI IPA 5 of SMAN 2 Solok. The method used in this research is descriptive. The results of the research show that in general, students experience misconceptions where the average of these misconceptions is 35%. Students experience misconceptions about the concept of understanding salt hydrolysis by 58%, the nature of the hydrolyzed salt by 29%, the types of salt hydrolysis by 34%, determining the pH of salt hydrolysis by 28%, and calculating the pH of salt hydrolysis by 25%.Keywords: Salt Hydrolysis, Misconception, Three-TierABSTRAKMiskonsepsi merupakan ketidaksesuaian suatu konsep dengan pengertian ilmiah yang disetujui oleh para ahli. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi yang dialami peserta didik pada materi hidrolisis garam. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes diagnostik three tier yang terdiri atas 21 butir soal. Peneliitan ini melibatkan sampel sebanyak 50 orang peserta didik kelas XI IPA 4 dan XI IPA 5 SMAN 2 Solok. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa secara umum peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi dimana rata–rata miskonsepsi tersebut sebesar 35%. Persentase miskonsepsi peserta didik berdasarkan konsep adalah; konsep pengertian hidrolisis garam sebesar 58%, sifat garam yang terhidrolisis sebesar 29%, jenis–jenis hidrolisis garam sebesar 34%, menentukan pH hidrolisis garam sebesar 28%, dan menghitung pH hidrolisis garam sebesar 25%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum dalam materi hidrolisis garam peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi.Kata Kunci: Hidrolisis garam, Miskonsepsi, Three-Tier
