Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe profile of middle school students' mathematical literacy ability in Solving Number Pattern Problems. This study used a descriptive case study design with 29 students in grade VIII at a middle school in Kefamenanu city, Indonesia. Test and interviews were the methods to collect data about the mathematical literacy ability. To analysis data we used the Miles and Huberman models with stages namely reduction data, data presentation and conclusions as a technique. The results of the study concluded that the profile of middle school students' mathematical literacy ability in solving number pattern problems is in the high category. Students with high mathematical literacy abilities meet all indicators at 3 levels of mathematics literacy cognitive namely understanding level, implementation level and level reasoning. Students with medium mathematical literacy abilities were able to achieve indicators of the level of understanding, while for the level of application and reasoning not all indicators were achieved. Students with low mathematical literacy abilities are only able to reach the level of understanding indicators, while the level of application and level of reasoning has not been achieved.

Abstract

Mathematics is a universal science that will continue to develop along with the times, a science that is obtained carefully, clearly, and accurately. Learning and understanding math is difficult, complicated and scary because it requires students to think logically, carefully, diligently, systematically, and must have learning motivation. Learning motivation is a description that is often used to explain the success of students' learning tasks, the time and effort they devote to them, so that the desired learning goals are achieved. The higher the child's motivation, the higher the learning outcomes obtained by students. To increase students' motivation and learning outcomes in this study using the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative type. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning motivation and mathematics learning outcomes of students in classes that used Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative type. The population in this study was the learning motivation and mathematics learning outcomes of grade XI students of MA Negri 1 Indramayu. The sample was selected randomly. The instruments used were a test of description questions and observation sheets of student motivation. The results of data processing obtained the average in cycle 1 for learning outcomes is 78.75 and the average motivation in cycle 1 is 2.86 with a sufficient category of 19 students and a less category of 7 students. The results of data processing in cycle 2 obtained an average for learning outcomes of 80.00 and an average motivation in cycle 2 of 3.36 with a sufficient category of 23 students and a good category of 3 students. And the results of data processing in cycle 3 obtained an average for learning outcomes of 86.92 and an average motivation in cycle 3 of 3.86 with a good category of 25 students and a very good category of 1 student. So it can be concluded that cooperative learning type Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) can increase students' motivation and math learning outcomes. For further research, other methods can be developed to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to identify the difficulties lecturers have when facilitating virtual learning for STKIP PGRI Metro Students at English Education Department. Five English lecturers served as the subjects of this study, which used qualitative descriptive research. Interviews and observations served as the research's primary data collection methods. The Miles and Huberman’s hypothesis has been used to analyse the data in three steps. The study's findings revealed that (a) lecturers face difficulties in the virtual learning process because of students' distance from internet resources, (b) it is challenging to get students and lecturers to explain things clearly, (c) lecturers lack motivation to teach because of students' distance and network issues, and (d) students have limited internet knowledge and it is challenging to start a meeting using a different application. This study shows that there are numerous difficulties when lecturers use virtual learning. Because of their distance from internet sources, the majority of lecturers had problems joining the classroom if the pupils did not participate in virtual classes. The lecturer faces additional obstacles due to their inability to motivate their students to learn. Additionally, the restriction on network access forced the students to respond to the lecturers' explanations and assignments in order to assess their understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Program Sekolah Penggerak in efforts to improve the quality of principal leadership and the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the Program Sekolah Penggerak. The research method uses qualitative research methods. The research was conducted at the public elementary school in Lebak Regency. Research data was collected using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Program Sekolah Penggerak is inseparable from five interventions, namely consultative and asymmetric assistance, strengthening school human resources, new paradigm learning, data-based planning, and school digitalization. Supporting factors for the Program Sekolah Penggerak at public elementary schools in Lebak regency are local government support, productive-age human resources, facilities, and infrastructure, as well as support from parents and the community. The obstacles faced were budget constraints and the impact of the implementation of the Program Sekolah Penggerak, namely the existence of policies oriented towards fulfilling student learning and budget policies oriented towards fulfilling teacher-student learning, which required them to get out of their comfort zone. By participating in training activities to strengthen school human resources, there is motivation and enthusiasm for new teachers to accept different learning models because students are served based on their interests and learning styles.

Abstract

Universities have an important role in preparing superior human resources, one of which is in the field of accounting. Internships can be a learning method that can be used to improve the competency of human resources. However, what kind of internship activities can provide more learning than what students get in lectures, especially internship activities in the accounting field? Therefore, this article aims to examine internship activities that can improve student competency, especially students majoring in accounting. This article was created using the literature method with a descriptive analysis approach. The results of the study show that there are several internship programs that can be carried out in the accounting field. However, the competencies to be achieved tend to only be competencies in the cognitive and psychomotor domains. Meanwhile, competence in the affective domain, especially attitudes as a sharia accountant who has a code of ethics, tends to be less explored in sharia accounting internship programs. Therefore, it is necessary to add converted courses by adding business and professional ethics courses in the internship activities of students majoring in accounting so that competence in the affective domain can be achieved.
