Magneton: Jurnal Inovasi Pembelajaran Fisika UNWIRA merupakan terbitan berkala ilmiah yang dikelolah oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas Katolik Widya Mandira (UNWIRA) yang terbit 2 kali dalam setahun atau tiap 6 bulan yaitu bulan Januari dan Juli. Magneton memuat artikel-artikel hasil penelitian pada bidang pendidikan fisika, pengembangan teori dan hasil pemikiran para praktisi yang bergerak di bidang pendidikan fisika dengan scope: Inovasi pembelajaran fisika; Metode, model, dan pendekatan pembelajaran fisika; Media pembelajaran fisika; TIK dalam pembelajaran Fisika; Evaluasi dan asesmen pembelajaran fisika; Etnofisika. Abstract

This study aims to produce electronic worksheets that are: (1) feasible to use to improve science process skills and digital literacy in high school students; (2) practical to use to improve science process skills and digital literacy in high school students; and (3) assess the level of effectiveness in improving science process skills and digital literacy of high school students. This type of research is Research and Development using the ADDIE model, namely Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation. The field trial subjects consisted of 90 students of class X SMAN 2 Bangutapan which were divided into one experimental class and two comparison classes, the sample selection using a simple random sampling technique. The experimental class implemented electronic worksheets guided inquiry model and two comparison classes using conventional and contextual learning. The data collection instruments used were observation sheets, questionnaire sheets, and test questions. Data analysis techniques used feasibility analysis techniques based on the Aiken V value coefficient, practicality analysis based on the results of teacher and student response questionnaires, and effectiveness analysis based on observations of learning implementation and effect size. The results of the study stated that: (a) The website-based guided inquiry model electronic worksheet is declared feasible based on the results of the analysis of the validity of media feasibility and test questions; (b) The website-based guided inquiry model electronic worksheet is practical to use based on the results of the analysis of teacher and student responses; and (c) The website-based guided inquiry model electronic worksheet used in the learning process in improving students' science process skills and digital literacy with the results of the analysis based on the effect size measurement of the difference in the average scores of the three classes and the results of the analysis based on the effect size measurement in the medium category with effective criteria.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low achievement of student competency skills in collaborating, student activities in collaborating only when discussing material, have not shown solid cooperation in designing independent curriculum teaching modules. The purpose of this study was to improve student collaboration skills through Lesson Study using independent flow, combined with Project Based Learning (PjBL) so as to enhance 21st-century skills. The sample of this study used purposive sampling with 40 physics education students at PGRI Silampari University—a quantitative descriptive research method. Data collection uses observation sheets, documentation, and interview guidelines. In open class meetings 1, 2, and 3 there was an increase in student collaboration skills using independent flow from meeting 1 to meeting 3 with an N-gain of 0.81 so the research results were in the high category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of a project-based learning model on physics material "transformer/transformer" on the learning outcomes of students of class XII SMAN 5 de Maio Becora TP 2022. This type of research in terms of sample data is a type of quantitative research. The sample of this research is the XII grade students of Ensino Secundário Geral Publico 05 de Maio Becora, Díli, Timor-Leste as many as 30 people who are divided into two classes, namely 15 people for the experimental class and 15 people for the control class. The experimental class is a class where in the implementation of the teaching and learning process, the teacher applies a project-based learning model. While the control class is the teacher applying conventional model. The results of data analysis showed that students in the experimental class obtained a t_count value greater than the t_count in the control class, namely 16.362> 3.292. This indicates that the learning outcomes of Physics students in the experimental class are better than the control class. Therefore, it can be concluded that the project-based learning model is very effective in applying the physics material "transformer/transformer" because it can make students active and creative in understanding concepts and principles, able to investigate problems related to and find solutions relevant to physics material, and make students learn independently, to obtain excellent learning outcomes. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence on the experimental class with the application of the PjBL-based learning model on the learning outcomes of students of class XII Ensino Secundário Geral Publico 05 Becora Dili, Timor-Leste in the 2022 teaching year

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in learning motivation and learning outcomes using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model in class X-10 Ambulu State Senior High School on environmental pollution material. The research subjects totaled 36 students, consisting of 25 female students and 11 male students. This study uses a class action research method (CAR). This research was conducted in two cycles, which consisted of planning, action and observation, and reflection stages. The research data is in the form of students' learning motivation results and students' cognitive learning outcomes taken by technical description tests. The results of the questionnaire on students' learning motivation found that there were 26 students who felt happy and enthusiastic about physics lessons and 10 others who felt unenthusiastic. This shows that the learning motivation of students is good, but some others are not. The initial test cognitive learning outcomes were 59%, 74% in cycle I and increased to 88% in cycle II. This shows that the application of the PBL learning model can increase learning motivation and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

As a science that studies natural phenomena, physics learning requires students' concept understanding ability. However, in reality the ability to understand the concept of students is still low. This study aims to determine the level of understanding of physics concepts of students on static fluid material. Descriptive method with survey studies research form was used in this research. This study involved 31 students of class XI SMA N 1 Kretek as the research sample. The results showed that the understanding of physics concepts of students in class XI SMA N 1 Kretek in the 2022/2023 school year on static fluid material was in the poor category with an average value of 47.7. The development of learning media such as interactive multimedia based on the Visualization, Auditory, Kinesthetic (VAK) learning model equipped with experimental learning methods can be an alternative to improve the ability to understand the physics concepts of students.

Abstract

The objectives of this study include knowing the relationship between students' involvement in Laboratory Activities (KL) and their success in learning Physics; knowing that KL is one of the excellent learning strategies to improve physics learning concepts; knowing how to use simple or very cheap materials in KL to achieve learning objectives. This research method is a descriptive qualitative method that describes the opinions and answers of participants. The sample of this study was 25 students, who were divided into 5 groups. Each group carried out all the KL that had been prepared. The instruments used to analyze this activity are protocol that guides the KL that has been prepared by the author for each KL; questionnaire: is one of the assessment instruments to collect information and opinions from participants according to the questions that have been prepared relevant to the implementation of KL and allows to include the analysis made by students on the KL developed by themselves. The results of the questionnaire analysis showed that the students had very good skills according to their understanding in preparing and installing the equipment for each KL, regarding the language of instruction (Portuguese) used there were some students who requested that the language of instruction used needed to be adapted to the understanding of the students because it was quite difficult for them to understand. In relation to the implementation of the KL, the students were successful in the implementation of the KL in the Laboratory, material handling, and exploration of the situation (distance, angle, etc.) which contributed very significantly to understanding the terms used and the phenomena studied in this study. While related to understanding, most students are able to use the measurement results well. The conclusions from the results of this study are a) KL has a very relevant role in understanding existing theories and is a motivator for scientific learning; b) the importance of student responsibility to be themselves in preparing and designing experiments, taking measurements, and obtaining values of physical quantities; c) related to the design and preparation of materials and controlling conditions for the implementation of KL

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of critical thinking skills and character of students in class VII junior high school after using models of project-based learning on solar system material. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design, the instruments used were concept understanding test questions and character observation sheets. The result showed that the average understanding of critical thinking in the pre-test was 52% with a moderate category and the post-test was 88% with a high category. The N-Gain value of students' critical thinking is 0,67 with a moderate variety. In contrast, the average character of students is 54% with a moderate category. The result showed that the use of Project Based Learning Models of the solar systems contributed to the improvement of critical thinking and character interest of good students in class VII Junior High School.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of participants in the process of solving problems of sound wave material based on Polya's theory. Polya's theory describes four stages that are carried out in the process of solving a problem, namely understanding the problem, planning the problem solving, carrying out the problem solving and checking the results. In order to obtain data on the students' ability to solve a problem, the research used the testing technique. Tests were given to 19 students in the form of questions in the form of descriptions with a total of five question numbers. The results of the data analysis show data on the percentage of students' abilities for four aspects based on Polya's theory, which are classified based on high, medium and low criteria. The results of the percentage of students' abilities at the stage of understanding the problem obtained the results that 15.79% were in the high category, 68.42% were in the medium category and 15.79% were in the low category. The stage of planning problem solving obtained results 36.84% were in the high category and the medium category and 26.32% were in the low category. The stage of implementing problem solving obtained 100% results in the low category and the last stage, which was checking the results, obtained 5.26% results in the high category, 5.26% were in the medium category and 89.47% were in the low category. From the results of the data analysis obtained, it can be seen that the percentage of students' abilities from very low to high is successively in the stage of carrying out problem solving, in the stage of re-examining the results, in the stage of planning problem solving and in the stage of understanding the problem.
