Abstract

Introduction: Tuberculosis is one of the most common infectious diseases in the community with a percentage of 80% caused by Acid Resistant Bacillus (BTA), namely the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Leukocytes act as an immune system or kill germs and diseases that are in the human bloodstream. In addition to leukocytes, there are CRP parameters that help fight tuberculosis infection, namely by releasing various pro-inflammatory cytokines and bacterial invasion occurs which then induces liver cells to synthesize acute phase proteins such as CRP which will increase sharply for a few moments, inflammation will occur during the systemic inflammatory process. Purpose: This study aims to determine the correlation between leukocyte count and CRP levels in tuberculosis patients. Research Method: This research was conducted in the Hematology Laboratory of the Muhammadiyah Palembang Institute of Health Sciences and Technology in March-April 2021. This type of research is Analytical Descriptive research with a cross sectional approach. Data were analyzed using Spearmen's correlation test. Results: This study had an average leukocyte count of 4.85 cells/µL, CRP examination results with an average value of 9.60 mg/L and Spearman's correlation test with p = 0.113. Conclusion: There is no correlation between leukocyte count and CRP levels in tuberculosis patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Reticulocytes are young blood cells that have just been released into the bloodstream from the bone marrow. Reticulocytes have characteristics that still have ribosomal RNA remnants. Physical activity is a body movement produced by skeletal muscles and requires energy, including activities performed while working, playing, doing household chores, exercising, and traveling.. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the results of reticulocyte examination before and after physical activity. Research Method: This research was conducted in 2 laboratories, blood sampling at the Hematology Laboratory, Faculty of Science and Technology, Muhammadiyah Palembang Institute of Health Sciences and Technology, and at the Palembang Health Laboratory Center. The number of samples used was 17 with 2 treatments using purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of reticulocyte examination before and after physical activity using the sysmex-XN1000 hematology analyzer. Results: The results showed that before physical activity produced an average of 1.24% while those after physical activity produced an average of 1.12%. In this study, there was a decrease that was not far from its normal value. Analysis of the data using the Wilcoxon test results obtained sig 0.209 where p≥0.05. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is no difference between before and after physical activity.

Abstract

Introduction: Typhoid fever is still a very important health problem. This disease is still often found in developing countries located in tropical areas such as Indonesia and subtropical areas. Acute typhoid fever is an acute systemic infectious disease caused by the microorganism Salmonella enteric serotype typhi known as Salmonella typhi (S. typhi). Laboratory examinations to establish the diagnosis of typhoid fever in general can be checked with the Widal test and Salmonella IgG/IgM, tubex test and culture test. Several diagnostic methods are faster, easier to perform and affordable for developing countries with fairly good sensitivity and specificity, such as Widal and salmonella IgG/IgM tests, starting to be used in Indonesia. Purpose: This study was to determine the examination of Widal and salmonella IgG/IgM in patients with suspected typhoid fever.. Research Method: The type of research used was cross sectional, this research was conducted in the Laboratory of Bunda Palembang Hospital. Samples were serum/plasma of patients with suspected typhoid fever. Results: The results showed that there were 11 patients with suspected typhoid fever who were Widal positive and then confirmed using salmonella IgG/IgM and 6 samples were diagnosed positive with typhoid fever. Data analysis using chi-square test obtained p value = 0.014. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there are significant differences in the examination of Widal and salmonella IgG/IgM in patients with suspected typhoid fever

Abstract

Introduction: Leukocytes are blood cellscontaining nuclei, orso-called white blood cells. Leukocytes have a role in the cellular and humoral defense of organisms against foreign substances. Some types of leukocytes or white blood cells are present in the blood. Leukocytes are generally divided into granuocytes (which have special granules) andagranulocytes (which do not have special granules). Granulocytes consist of neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils. Agranulocytes consist of lymphocytes and monocytes. Leukocyte count examination is a routine blood test conducted in the clinical laboratory because of the frequent request for a test to calculate the number of leukocytes. Calculate the number of leukocytes not only determinethe number ofleukocyte cells, but can also be any type of leukocyte cells. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to determine the difference in the number of leucocytes immediately and stored for 6 hours. Methods: This research method usescross sectional, this sample was taken from studentslevel 1 and 4Medical Laboratory Technologyof Health Sciences and Technology Muhammadiyah Palembang. Result: The results of this study obtained an averagecount of the number of leukocytes immediately is 6.3667 cells/μl, while the average count of the number of leukocytes stored for 6 hours is6.4667 cells/μl. Result: The results of T-test statistics showed a significant value (0,477) was higher than the alpha value of 0.05 or ρ>ɑthen Ho, receivedwhich means there is no difference in calculating the number of leukocytes immediately and stored for 6 hours. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is no difference in calculating the number of leukocytes immediately and disinced for 6 hours.

Abstract

The development of information systems is so rapid today, the application of information systems engaged in the management of goods is one of the information systems that is widely used by organizations or companies. The implementation of the goods information system is essentially an effort to maintain orderly documents and orderly administration of goods management. Ordering goods documents is related to efforts to provide and collect data or documents that accompany the existence of goods, while orderly administration is more intended to develop procedures for managing goods from procurement, receipt, data change, to deletion of goods. For an agency the management of goods is very important. At Pondok Ar-Rahman Palembang, all activities (room inventory) are still carried out manually and in recording new items, old items and damaged items in each room are still not well controlled, it can be seen by the existence of data items that do not match the stock records. This study aims to design a web-based room inventory application at Pondok Ar-Rahman Palembang, which in each room can manage data on new items, old items and damaged items, so that a well-structured recapitulation of goods is carried out. The system development method is waterfall.
