Abstract

Coffee is one of the agricultural commodities that plays a vital role as a refreshing beverage and is categorized as a perennial crop. Currently, coffee is becoming a trend and an integral part of people's lifestyles. Coffee is divided into two main varieties: robusta and arabica, each with its distinct characteristics. Differentiating between robusta and arabica coffee beans can be challenging due to their similar physical appearance. Deep learning-based smart engines can offer a solution to this problem, although their complex user interfaces often hinder accessibility. To address this issue, a Spiral development method was employed to build an application using PHP programming language and Codeigniter 4 framework. This application facilitates easy detection of coffee bean types through both a website and a RESTful API, allowing users to access it online from any device. The application underwent comprehensive black box testing, demonstrating successful functionality aligned with the initial design objectives. It is expected that this application will solve the identified problem and provide significant assistance to coffee enthusiasts and the general public in easily distinguishing between various coffee bean types. Users can effortlessly recognize and differentiate between different coffee beans while obtaining useful information about their preferred coffee beans.

Abstract

With the progress of civilization, science, and technology in Indonesia, the study entitled "Design and Development of Prototype Smart Home System using IoT MQTT Panel" aims to facilitate efficient control and monitoring of home activities. This smart home optimizes lighting, security, air, and garden systems, while saving electricity costs. The study adopts an experimental method to establish cause-effect relationships between factors by controlling other potential influences. Functional testing shows that the software system functions well and efficiently controls various aspects of the smart home. Failure value testing evaluates sensor performance, with the garden control showing the highest responsiveness at 93%. This indicates that the system provides a comprehensive solution for smart home management. Conclusion: Successful development of a smart home system using IoT MQTT Panel, effectively controlling lighting, air, security, and garden. Failure value testing shows an average sensor responsiveness of 90% and delay of 10.6%. Recommendations: Improve internet connectivity, add a camera, and conduct testing with different methods.

Abstract

Financing through loans is common in the financial world, but the loan approval process requires careful assessment to minimize credit risk that may arise. In this study, we propose the application of the Naïve Bayes method as a tool to predict the eligibility of prospective customers in making loans. This research uses historical datasets from banks that include credit information, payment history, and customer profiles. The analysis process begins with data pre-processing to clean and address missing or incomplete data. Next, the extraction of relevant features and selection of variables are carried out to build a prediction model. The Naïve Bayes method was chosen because of its simple and fast nature in classifying data. This model makes use of the assumption of feature independence, which is useful when feature dimensions are high. In the training phase, the Naïve Bayes model will learn from historical datasets to recognize good and bad customer eligibility patterns. The results of this analysis show that the Naïve Bayes method has succeeded in predicting the eligibility of prospective customers with a satisfactory level of accuracy. In addition, the model is able to identify key factors that affect loan eligibility, such as credit history, income, and financial dependents. This study contributes to finance by presenting predictive tools that can help financial institutions make more informed and efficient decisions regarding loan approvals. However, we also acknowledge that the Naïve Bayes method has limitations, such as the assumption of feature independence, which must be considered in the interpretation of prediction results.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the practicality, effectiveness and student learning outcomes through the use of the IPL Practicum e-module in class XI TITL at SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya. The novelty of this study is the application of e-modules as new and information technology-based learning tools that contribute to improving student learning outcomes in IPL subjects. The method used is the Pre-Experimental Design in the form of a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design on a sample of 37 students. Using data analysis techniques includes analysis of practicality, effectiveness as well as, analysis of learning outcomes. In the analysis stage, a needs analysis is carried out aimed at the target of implementation and the pre-test value is obtained, the application is continued to the design stage, adjusting the media to the results of the analysis and several tests are carried out, namely material expert tests, media and language. At the implementation stage, the results of the material expert questionnaire obtained a value of 93%, the media expert questionnaire obtained a value of 83% and, the results of the linguist questionnaire obtained a value of 81%, this means that practical media is used in learning after going through the revision process. The results of the evaluation of learning tools show that the e-module has a significant score of 91% which is categorized as very effective. The pre-test and post-test data on knowledge, skills and attitudes analyzed showed a significance value of zero point zero (0.000) which could mean that there was a significant change in student learning outcomes. Through these results it can be concluded that e-modules are practical and effective in increasing learning outcomes.

Abstract

The occurrence of transient disturbances in the power network can be influenced by several factors, including when a short circuit occurs, motor starting, natural factors and sudden addition of load, which causes frequency instability on the bus. As in this study, an additional load of 10%, 20% and 30% for each feeder can cause transient disturbances which cause frequency stability on the 150kV bus. Frequency experiences instability when there is a transient disturbance caused by an additional load. By simulating using the Etap software, each feeder is given an additional load of 10%, showing a normal state. The 50Hz frequency experiences instability down to 47Hz and stabilizes again at 230 seconds. Hz and rose again at 245 seconds, and when given an additional load of 30% the frequency which was originally 50% experienced instability down to 47.5Hz and stabilized again at 230 seconds.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) analyze students' understanding of concepts with the discovery learning model and direct learning model, (2) analyze how effectively the discovery learning model is applied to the mastery of the concept of PDE subject class X TITL SMK Negeri 1 Kediri, (3) find out student responses to the discovery learning model on electromechanical basic work subjects. This study was carried out by giving treatment to the experimental class given the treatment that was taught by discovery learning and the comparison class, namely the control class with the direct learning model. This study involved 34 students from class TITL 2 SMKN 1 Kediri. Concept mastery tests, consisting of pretest and posttest, as well as questionnaires, were used in this study to measure students' responses to the use of discovery learning. According to the results of the recapitulation of the Mann Whitney hypothesis test, (1) shows a difference in mastery of the concept obtained a significance with a value of 0.012 <0.05, which means that rejecting H0 and accepting H1. Therefore, it can be said that students who are taught by discovery learning and students who use direct learning have significantly different mastery of concepts. (2) The discovery learning learning model succeeded in mastering students' concepts with an average N-Gain score of 0.80 and high criteria. (3) Students of the discovery learning model in increasing mastery of the concept are included in the high category, getting a score of 80%.

Abstract

Electrical Power Installation Engineering at SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya provides basic lessons about electric lighting. In practicum learning activities carried out, it is still not optimal and effective. This can be seen from the lack of understanding of students to realize the theory given in the practicum carried out. Based on the results of observations made at SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya, especially in the Electrical Installation Engineering Department, it was found that during the learning process students were still not actively involved, did not understand the theory of the practicum that had been done. In addition, the learning model that is often applied is the Project Based Learning learning model. However, in fact the ability of students in theory is still not optimal, especially practical abilities. Therefore, the learning model used does not only focus on practice but also emphasizes theory to improve student competency. This study aims to determine the effect of critical thinking skills and PjBL learning models on improving learning outcomes of electric lighting installation for class IX TITL students of SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya. In this study using the type of Pre-Experimental research, aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes on critical thinking skills and the application of Project Based Learning. The study used the Non-Equivalent Control Group Pretest-Posttest form, with purposive random sampling. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya, Department of Electrical Installation Engineering, with a population of students at SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya, Class XI TITL Electrical Installation Engineering Expertise Program and two classes were selected at random. The data collection technique used is the test method, student responses, and observation. The data analysis technique uses quantitative analysis. The results of the first hypothesis were obtained, namely a significance value of <0.05, with a significance 0.001. In the second hypothesis, the significance value is <0.05, with a significance 0.033. In the third hypothesis, the significance value is >0.05, with a significance 0.141. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Project Based Learning learning model assisted by the E-Job Sheet and the Project Based Learning learning model without the E-Jobsheet on student learning outcomes in the subject of electric lighting installation, there is an influence on learning outcomes between students who have high critical thinking skills and low critical thinking skills in electric lighting installation subjects, and there is nothing interaction between project based learning models assisted by E-Jobsheets and project based learning without E-Jobsheets on learning outcomes in terms of students' critical thinking skills in class electric lighting installation subjects XI TITL SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya.

Abstract

Warehouse has an important role to support the company's success in achieving its goals, because in this part of the warehouse there is a process of processing input into output. Some Warehouses in a data processing company still use the manual method, namely by filling in the form provided by the company and then storing it in a folder for archiving. This system is good, but there are still perceived weaknesses, including if it is required to quickly find the data needed it is rather difficult, because you have to search for one by one the archives that have been stored, it will take quite a long time, so a lot of time is wasted. Another problem is that the possibility of data or archives being lost or damaged is still very high, with this error the company will suffer losses, that is what must be avoided. In this study the authors created an Inventory Information System as a basis which aims to provide convenience in data processing, especially in warehouses. an information system that is made web-based so that the system can be integrated with other parts, and in developing this information system a prototype method is used so that this system can actually be used by users and can be used easily because in its development it uses a prototype method which involves user.

Abstract

Lumbricus Rubellus (earthworm) has various benefits: serving as livestock feed, medicine, cosmetics ingredients, and organic fertilizer from vermicompost. Earthworm cultivation is not difficult, but requires extra monitoring due to various challenges that affect their growth and development. One key factor to consider is the weather, as prolonged hot temperatures during droughts can disrupt the growth of earthworms. To address this challenge, a monitoring and control device was designed to regulate the temperature and humidity of the cultivation area automatically. Additionally, the device provides information about the age of the cultivated earthworms for predicting the harvesting period. These functions were realized by utilizing various sensors, such as the DHT11 sensor for room temperature measurement with 95.05% accuracy and the Soil Moisture sensor for soil humidity measurement with 96.3% accuracy. Furthermore, a fan and water pump were employed to automate temperature and humidity regulation. The main control unit for this system is the NodeMCU ESP8266. Telegram application was used as a platform to monitor and control this IoT-based device remotely. With this device, the process of earthworm cultivation is expected to be more accessible.
