Abstract

ABSTRACT Produce and develop the kolang kaling jam industry, technical analysis and feasibility are needed to be applied in the midst of society. The results of this research, if it is made into a food industry, can it be profitable or not. The technical and feasibility analysis carried out for an industrial project is in the form of a financial feasibility analysis. Financial analysis is an analysis carried out to evaluate the flow of finance in a business being run. The results of financial calculations show that the Cost of Production (HPP) of Kolang-kaling jam is IDR 11,006 with a selling price of IDR 16,500 per bottle with a net weight of 120 gr. The Break Even Point (BEP) was achieved at a sales level of 4,334 bottles or a value of IDR 71,504,374. Business efficiency (R/C ratio) of 1.31. Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 200,009,265. The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 843.48% and the Payback Period (PP) is 1.11 years. Based on the financial feasibility analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the production of kolang forth jam is feasible. Keywords : jam, kolang kaling, financial analysis, NVP, BEP

Abstract

Commercial galactomannans such as guar gum, tara gum and locust bean gum are used as thickeners and emulsion stabilizers in the food industry. The increasing demand of the food industry for galactomannan has become the focus of research to developed from other plant sources such as sugar pulm fruit. Galactomannan was successfully extracted from kolang-kaling based on the structural characteristics of galactomannan which confirmed the presence of α and β conformers at wave numbers 810 and 871 cm-1. The physicochemical characterization in this study include yield, specific gravity, pH, soluble protein content, moisture content, water absorption and oil absorption. Based on the results of this study, the yield of galactomannan sugar pulm fruit was 2.33% with a specific gravity of 1.00 g/ml. Galactomannan of sugar plum fruit has pH, soluble protein content, water content, water absorption and oil absorption significantly different from tara gum. The water absorption and oil absorption capacity of galactomannan is higher than tara gum, so it can be used as a thickener and emulsion stabilizer to replace commercial galactomannan.

Abstract

The shallot plant is an important vegetable commodity because it contains high nutrition, raw material for medicines, and as a complement to cooking spices, and has many vitamins and acts as an enzyme activator in the body. Shallot production, especially in Riau Province, is still not sufficient for the people's needs. The low production yield is due to low soil fertility and sub-optimal cultivation methods. For this reason, efforts are needed to increase shallot yields in Riau Province. In order for the land to be productive, it is necessary to make efforts to improve it by adding ameliorants, which are materials that can increase soil fertility by improving the physical, chemical and biological conditions of the soil. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and obtain the best dose of Humic Acid, NPK Mutiara 16:16:16 fertilizer, and its interaction on the growth and production of shallots. This research was carried out experimentally using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consisted of two factors, namely H (Humic Acid) which consisted of 3 levels, and factor N (NPK fertilizer) which consisted of 3 levels, and each of them had 3 repetitions, the number of experimental units is 27 plots, each plot consists of 3 plants and 2 plants as samples, so the number of plants is 27x3 = 81 plants. The parameters observed were as follows: "Plant Height" (cm), "Number of Leaves" (strands), "Number of tubers (cm2), Diameter of tubers (cm), Number of tubers (fruits) and Weight of tubers (grams). And the interaction of humic acid and NPK fertilizer with doses of H2N2 (giving 2 g/polybag of humic acid and 20 g/polybag of NPK) gives the best results.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect and obtain the best dose of ZPT Growtone on the growth of oil palm seedlings (Elaesis guineensis Jacq) in pre-nursery. This research was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications namely G0 (without treatment), G1 (ZPT Growtone 2 gr/l), G2 (ZPT Growtone 4 gr/l), G3 (ZPT Growtone 6 gr/l), G4 (ZPT Growtone 6 gr/l). The number of experimental units was 20 plots consisting of 16 plants and 4 plants as samples, the parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter and leaf area. The results of this study were that the administration of ZPT Growtone had a very significant effect on the growth of oil palm seedlings on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter and leaf area. The best growth of oil palm seedlings was found in the G3 treatment with a concentration of 6 g/l.

Abstract

One of the reasons for the low eggplant production in Riau is that the soil type in Riau is generally Red Yellow Podzolik (PMK). Utilization of PMK soil as a medium for plant growth is faced with various problems, especially the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil which are less supportive for growth. To be able to improve PMK soil, it is necessary to provide a lot of organic matter, such as vermicompost fertilizer. Vermicompost organic fertilizer is an organic fertilizer plus, because it contains macro and micro nutrients and growth hormones that are readily absorbed by plants. In addition, giving egg shells is a household waste that can still be used to fertilize plants. Eggshell contains 94% calcium carbonate, 1% calcium phosphate, 1% magnesium carbonate and 4% organic compounds (Rahmawati and Nisa, 2015). The high calcium carbonate contained in eggshells can be used as an alternative source of calcium. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and the best combination of casting and chicken eggshell fertilizer on the growth and production of pondoh round eggplant (Solanum melongena L.). This research was carried out experimentally using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consisted of two factors, namely K (Kascing Fertilizer) consisting of 3 levels, and factor C (Chicken egg shells), consisting of 3 levels, each consisting of 3 repetitions, The number of experimental units is 27 plots, each plot consists of 4 plants and 2 plants as samples, so that the total plant is 27 x 4 = 108 plants. The result of this research is that the interaction of vermicompost fertilizer and chicken egg shells has a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, number of fruits, fruit weight per plant, fruit diameter of eggplant plants, by giving 100 g of castor fertilizer/plant and 30 chicken egg shells. g/plant is the best dose in this study.

Abstract

Long bean plants (Vigna cylindrica L), one type of long bean horticultural plant, are a source of vitamin C and minerals. Long bean production in Pekanbaru is not yet optimal, many factors cause low long bean production. One of them is the Red and Yellow Podzolic land which is majority owned by Pekanbaru. PMK soil is a type of soil that has poor physical, chemical and biological properties, so it requires the addition of ameliorant substances such as manure. The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness and obtain the best dose of the interaction of liquid organic fertilizer from snakehead fish waste and ghost growth regulator (ZPT) on the growth and production of long bean plants.The research was carried out on land at the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, 16 meters above sea level, with flat tropography with Red and Yellow Podzolic soil (PMK). This research was conducted for 2 months, starting from January to February 2023. This research was carried out experimentally using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consists of two factors, namely P (Liquid Organic Fertilizer), consisting of 3 levels, and the factor Z (Ghost ZPT) 3 replications, the number of experimental units was 27 plots, each plot consisted of 4 plants and 2 plants as samples, so that the total plants were 27 x 4 = 108 plants.Based on the results of research that has been carried out on the interaction of giving Snakehead Fish Waste Liquid Organic Fertilizer and Ghost Growth Regulator (ZPT) on the growth and production of long bean plants, it can be concluded that the interaction of giving Cow Manure and Hantu ZPT has a significant effect on the parameters of flowering age, stem diameter, number of fruits, and fruit length. Meanwhile, the fruit weight parameter had no significant effect. The best treatment interaction is P2Z2 with a dose of Liquid Organic Fertilizer of 10 ml/plot and giving Ghost ZPT 4 ml/l.

Abstract

Moringa leaf fragrant tea is tea that is prepared from the leaves of Moringa oleifera plant using the same manufacturing method as the process for making green tea and then added with jasmine flowers for 18 hours to give the tea a jasmine aroma. Moringa fragrant leaf tea has high antioxidant content, namely 71.58%. This research was conducted to look at the nutritional content of fragrant Moringa leaves. From the observations it was found that the fragrant Moringa leaves tea contained 26.48% protein, 1815 mg/100g calcium, 39.45% iron, 101.11 mg/100g carotene, 101.17mg/100g ascorbic acid and were positive contains alkaloids

Abstract

Ammonia is a gas resulting from the decomposition of protein residues in broiler chicken excreta. Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a tropical plant that has antibacterial properties from the curcumin content and essential oils found in its rhizomes. The aim of this research was to determine the levels of ammonia excreta and the performance of broiler chickens by adding turmeric rhizome flour to their drinking water. There were 32 broiler chickens used. The feed used is starter and finisher phase feed. There were four treatments with four replications, namely treatment K0 (control), K1 (drinking water + 0.5 g/L amoxitin), K2 (drinking water + 16 g/L turmeric rhizome flour), K3 (drinking water + 20 g/L turmeric rhizome flour). The data obtained were analyzed for variance using a completely randomized design. Turmeric flour was given for three consecutive days before carrying out weekly performance measurements at the same time interval for four weeks. The parameters observed were performance (drinking water consumption, feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, and final body weight), as well as ammonia production of broiler chickens. The results showed that giving turmeric rhizome flour had no significant effect of p>0.05 on the performance and ammonia production of broiler chickens with the best performance and lowest ammonia production in treatment K2 (drinking water + 16 g/L turmeric rhizome flour), namely drinking water consumption (197 .54±7.58 mL/e/d), feed consumption (83.57±5.14 g/e/d), feed conversion (1.65±0.14), body weight gain (51.08± 5.61 g/e/d), final body weight (1229.75±107.07 g/e) and ammonia production (33.20±7.54 mM). It can be concluded that the addition of 16 g/L turmeric rhizome flour (K2) to drinking water tends to produce better performance and less ammonia production

Abstract

Maggot termasuk dalam serangga decomposer yang mampu mengolah material organik. Dalam mengolah material organik maggot tidak memilih makanan yang dikehendaki akan tetapi maggot dipaksa memakan media yang di berikan yang berakhibat kandungan protein dari magot itu. Sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kandungan protein magot berdasarkan perbedaan media makan maggot. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah perbedaan media makan maggot yaitu sampah daun daunan, buah buahan , hewan dan rumah tangga. Analasis hasil yang digunakan adalah penepatan kadar protein maggot dengan metode lowry secara spektrofotometri. Hasil dari penelitain ini diperoleh persaman kurva baku Y: 0.009X + 0.0217 dengan nilai R2 adalah 0.9892. Kadar protein maggot dari dengan media sampah daun daunan (29 % ), buah buahan (35% ), hewan ( 43%), rumah tangga (239% ). Kesimpulannya Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan penggunaan media hewan mempunyai kandungan protein tertinggi disusul oleh sampah rumah tangga.
