Abstract

Warta iman tentang Yesus, Sabda Allah yang menjelma, seperti yang diwahyukan dalam prolog Injil Yohanes harus ditafsirkan, dimengerti dan dihayati oleh umat dalam konteks kebudayaannya. Selama ini tafsiran terhadap prolog Injil Yohanes lebih banyak menggunakan pemikiran filosofis Yunani. Penjelasan spekulatif-abstrak tentang "logos" atau "Sabdd" tidak cocok dengan alam pemikiran orang Flores. Para ahli Kitab Suci juga berpendapat bahwa prolog Yohanes memiliki motif dan nuansa kebijaksanaan, karena itu harus ditafsirkan dalam terang kitab-kitab Kebijaksanaan. Dari perspektif ini Yesus disebut Sophia atau Kebijaksanaan. Dalam Kitab Suci Perjanjian Lama, Sophia selalu ditampilkan dalam image seorang perempuan. Sering kali Sophia digambarkan dengan simbol-simbol dari alam, karena tradisi kebijaksanaan terbentuk dalam kebudayaan agraris. Image Yesus sebagai Sophia lebih cocok dengan kebudayaan agraris dan pemikiran religius-kosmis orang Flores. Dalam konsep soteriologi-kosmis orang Flores, Ina Pade dipandang sebagai liberatrix. Ada paralelisme antara Yesus Sophia dan Ina Pade sebagai personifikasi kebijaksanaan. Dari proses dialog antara kebenaran Injil dan nilai kultural setempat diharapkan bisa dihasilkan sebuah Wisdom Christology yang kontekstual. Selain itu Kristologi Kebijaksanaan yang kontekstual dapat membantu mendewasakan iman, harapan dan kasih umat kepada Yesus, Sang Sophia Ilahi.

Abstract

The article argues that Maryam has a special and important position in the Holy Quran and hadith or tradition. As a holy and gentle and pious woman, she was chosen in a special way by Allah to bear and give birth to Isa a.s. Although Maryam is not recognized and accepted as the mother of God, but she is respected indeed. She is even asked for help through her prayers. She is also regarded as a holy woman who defended her dignity and obeyed Allah, and she trusted His Word and Commandments. She is always closed to God and truly blessed as a holy woman. Therefore Maryam is really the blessed virgin of Islam.

Abstract

Kemiskinan dan orang miskin ada di sekitar kita. Ada banyak cara yang dipakai untuk menjelaskan fakta itu. Ada yang mengacu kepada nasib yang tidak terelakkan selain harus diterima dengan pasrah. Ada yang menjelaskan fakta itu sebagai akibat dari sistem dan struktur yang tidak adil dan opresif. Baik paham predestinasi maupun paham struktural, tidak mudah diatasi dan dilawan, karena ada banyak cara yang dipakai kelompok manusia yang berkepentingan untuk mempertahankan dan melestarikan status quo. Menurut penulis, walau dalam pandangan Kristiani kemiskinan itu mempunyai nilai rohani tersendiri, tetapi orang tidak boleh membiarkan kemiskinan merusak martabat manusia. Kemiskinan adalah masalah kemanusiaan. Nasib manusialah yang terseret di dalamnya. Jika kemiskinan tidak diatasi, maka akan timbul krisis kemanusiaan. Karena itu orang harus menggali pelbagai wacana filosofis, teologis, religius untuk mengatasinya. Tulisan ini adalah sekelumit upaya untuk mengangkat beberapa wacana tadi dalam rangka mengatasi masalah kemiskinan di sekitar kita.

Abstract

The Title "Pendidikan Budaya dan Budaya Pendidikan" (Formation of the Cul- ture and Culture of the Formation) contains two concepts which are different from each other. Formation of the culture is dealing with the formation touch- ing the culture. The formation is emphasizing the process of creating the guidelines to develop and to put forward the culture. It involves the process of knowing, cultivating and of developing the essence of the culture. Culture of the formation is the practice of the formation. It means the whole activi- ties that include the styles, the behaviours, the attitude and the way of life, the instruments, the practical concepts, the administration and the manage- ment of the education, the ideology and the philosophy of the education. In other words, culture of the formation is dealing with the question of how a formation or education should be done. The author has an effort to elaborate the two concepts in the different meaning, and at the end of this article, the author would like to apply these two different concepts to the Indonesian context nowadays.

Abstract

Kapitel-kapitel General SVD dalam abad ke-XXI memusatkan diri pada dua tema atau konsep fundamental - 'dialog profetis' dan 'interkulturalitas'. Penulis membabarkan, pertama-tama, interkulturalitas dari perspektif ilmu sosial dan misiologis/teologis, dan kedua, dialog profetis sebagai 'kenabian' dan 'dia- log' secara terpisah, dan kemudian sebagai dua dimensi bersama-sama. Selanjutnya, artikel ini mendialogkan kedua konsep ini dan mengusulkan bagaimana dialog profetis dan interkulturalitas bisa saling membentuk, saling memperkaya, dan saling melengkapi satu sama lain. Dalam simpulan, penulis menarik implikasi-implikasi misioner. Artikel ini khususnya merupakan minat SVD tetapi juga relevan bagi mereka yang menaruh perhatian pada jalinan antara misi dan kebudayaan/masyarakat.

Abstract

As small minority and being dispersed community, the Christians in Indonesia are always challenged to present themselves amicably and attentively to people of other faiths. As integral part of Indonesian people they are of course responsible for the development of the society at large and the good of everyone, based on their calling to be light and salt of the world. They can accomplish this particular mission (missio ad extra) if their distinctive quality can be relied on. The article argues that the Church in Indonesia should at best work out the image of being salt or yeast rather than big tree. This theological image could be develop in line with the so-called 'theology of participation', since the Church has been elected to participate in missio Dei and to collaborate with people of other faiths in building up the nation-state of Indonesia to be a 'shared-world' of all.

Abstract

The state of Indonesia protects and guarantees the freedom of religion with- out any discrimination to each citizen. Everyone is free to embrace any religion and to do worship according to his or her beliefs. This article de- scribes the religious freedom in this country and highlights its subsequent problems. Is it true that religious freedom goes in accordance with the constitution of the country?, The Ahmadiyah adherents, however, were badly treated in these recent years. Their communities had to undergo expulsion and persecution in many places throughout the country. They were stripped of their human dignity and deprived of their basic rights, and many of them were even murdered. Historically speaking, they have been in Indonesia since the first quarter of the twentieth century. They also belonged to the fighters for the independence of the country (1945). Finally, their existence was yuridically acknowledged by the government in 1953. Our questions, then, are: "Why are they refused to be integral members of the predominantly Muslim society? What are the errors of their doctrine compared to the so- called true teachings of Islam?"

Abstract

This article describes the movements of Islamic women. The movements show that a lot of women are discriminated against and have to undergo exploitations and violence on their basic rights. Muslim women's movements and/or the movements of Islamic feminism are the ongoing struggles to free them from the subordinate predetermination towards a more balanced and equal position in the society with men. Our questions then: "Are the movements purely Islamic ones? How can we comprehend the development of these movements in Indonesian context?"
