Abstract

Stunting is chronic malnutrition in toddlers resulting from a lack of nutritional intake for a long time and is usually accompanied by frequent illnesses. The target audience for this community service activity is 30 mothers of toddlers. The method used is health education in the form of counseling and interactive discussions. This activity was carried out on June 2 2022 at the Puuwonua Village Hall, working area of ??the Lalonggasu Meeto Community Health Center, Konawe Regency. The results of this community service activity showed that there was an increase in knowledge about nutrition after providing counseling to mothers of toddlers who had an average pre-test score of 6.0 which rose to 8.6 at post-test; The results of the analysis of different tests showed that there was a difference in the mean knowledge scores of participants before and after counseling (p=0.000). Conclusion: implementing outreach to increase nutritional knowledge among mothers of toddlers has proven to be effective, especially in implementing balanced nutrition within 1000 HPK and using local food in efforts to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a disorder of growth and brain development in children caused by malnutrition for a long time, including inadequate intake and increased nutritional needs due to repeated infections, and lack of stimulation. The percentage of stunted toddlers in Southeast Sulawesi in 2017 was 36.4% , Konawe Regency by 29.6%. This study aims to determine the relationship between infectious diseases, knowledge of maternal nutrition and diet with the incidence of stunting under five children Method :. This type of research is descriptive analytical research with a cross sectional study approach. It was carried out from March to May 2020, the number of samples was 35 participant. The sampling technique was Proportional Random Sampling. Results: The study showed as many as 54.3% (n=19) under five were women, 57.1% under five aged 12-36 months, 31.4% under five suffering from infectious diseases, there were 85.7% mothers under five had poor nutrition knowledge, as many as 51.4% Stunting toddlers. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between infectious diseases and the incidence of stunting in toddlers, and there is no significant relationship between knowledge of maternal nutrition and eating patterns with the incidence of stunting. Suggestion: Toddler mothers are given nutrition education to always visit Posyandu regularly so they can monitor their child's growth and development.

Abstract

The important period in child development is the age under five years. Because during this period, basic growth will influence and determine the child's future. The development stage of toddlers has a critical period, where appropriate stimulation/stimulus is needed so that the potential in children develops optimally, so that during this development period, attention is needed, especially from parents. Objective: to improve education (knowledge) for cadres related to SDIDTK which is needed to improve the quantity and quality of services at the integrated health post. Method: This activity is a community service carried out with a descriptive approach through counseling and simulation. Community service was carried out in the Ranomeeto Health Center hall, South Konawe Regency with a duration of 90 minutes for 1 day with a sample of 30 integrated health post cadres spread across 12 villages/sub-districts in the Ranomeeto Health Center working area. Results: counseling and simulations that have been given with the results of all integrated health post cadres understand very well how to detect toddler growth and development. In general, it provides an overview to cadres of what toddler growth and development are like according to their age and how to stimulate growth and development. Conclusion: The use of KPSP can be used by cadres to detect toddler delays in the Ranomeeto District environment so that they can be stimulated immediately.

Abstract

Malnutrition for a long time in pregnant women will cause pregnant women to experience a condition called Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED). Almost all developing countries have experienced SEZ problems, one of which is Indonesia. Another factor that influences the effectiveness of empowering pregnant women in efforts to handle CED is the use of health facilities. The use of health service facilities by pregnant women can be seen from the coverage of pregnancy checks, one of which is the use of antenatal care which is less than the minimum standard. Health workers play a role in empowering the community in the health sector. Health workers strive to develop learning for the community to build independence in solving health problems. The impact that will be obtained if the empowerment of alert villages for pregnant women in an effort to handle CED is not effective is related to the occurrence of cases of stunting in newborn babies, bleeding, defects in the fetus and death can also occur in the mother and baby. The community service method used is educational and participatory outreach, targeting all pregnant women, their families, especially husbands and cadres. It is hoped that this community service activity can increase the understanding of women of childbearing age about the importance of empowering Alert Villages to reduce chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women in preventing stunting.
