Jurnal Pengabdian Mitra Masyarakat (JURPAMMAS) menitikberatkan pada penerbitan artikel hasil kegiatan pengabdian dan penelitian diaplikasikan untuk pemberdayaan masyarakat yang memiliki multidisiplin ilmu baik merupakan produk maupun metode. Abstract

Electrode shielded arc welding or better known as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) is welding using an electric arc as a metal melt heater. An electric arc is formed between the shielded electrode and the base metal. Because of the heat from the electric arc, the base metal and the tip of the electrode melt and freeze together (Wryosumarto, 2004). With the ability of reason, humans are able to use metal as a very vital life aid. Various kinds of machine construction, buildings and others can be created in the presence of metal. The metal raises the need for assembly or joining technology. One such connection technology is by welding (welding). The purpose of the Occupational Health and Safety Counseling for SMAW Welding Workshop Operators in Gang Buntu Village, Medan Timur District, Medan City are: So that the welding company makes procedures and rules for occupational health and safety in the workplace. Welding industry companies provide Personal Protective Equipment (ADP) for welding operators. Because the issue of occupational health and safety is very important to get attention because it is directly related to the productivity and efficiency of workers.

Abstract

Health drinks made from spices or known as Jamu, can increase stamina to maintain a healthy body. One of the herbal medicine makers in the Tanjung Duren area is Mrs. Sri Lestari Rahayu, she was active in making herbal medicine during the pandemic. The herbal medicine business that was initiated during Covid 19 is increasing demand from consumers day by day, but not all of these requests can be fulfilled because the processing process is still done manually, especially in the process of cutting raw materials for spices. Based on this, community service activities are carried out. This activity is carried out by providing training on the use of cutting machines and slicing machines. The spice ingredients consist of ginger, lemongrass, turmeric and lemon, each weighing 1 kg. shavings are carried out using a shaved machine with an electric motor drive. After the shaving process, the pulp is separated from the herbal extract using a slicing machine. From the results of the shaving process, it was obtained that the processing time was faster (15 minutes) than before (120 minutes). The results of the spice shavings are very fine. The amount of spices produced can be increased so that consumer demand can be met.

Abstract

Problem of slum settlements is one of the main issues of rural development.. Many things are the cause of the formation of slum settlements in coastal areas, in addition to the low level of community welfare, social patterns and their habits to live in slum areas make slum settlements exist in the coastal area. In accordance UU No.  1 of 2011 concerning Housing and Settlement Areas, mandates the importance of efforts to improve the quality of slum housing and slum settlements. The Government shall establish policies, strategies, and patterns of handling that are humane, cultural, just, and economical. Determination of the location of housing and slums must be preceded by a data collection process carried out by the Regional Government by involving the participation of the community. The identification activity was carried out in a slum area in Bandar Rahmat Village, Tanjung Tiram District, Batu Bara Regency. Through this identification activity, it is hoped that data and information will be obtained that describe the profile of slum settlements in Bandar Rahmat Village. The results of the identification and calculation of slums in Bandar Rahmat Village, obtained a moderate level of slums with a total value of 46.

Abstract

Community Empowerment is an economic development concept that encapsulates community values to build a new paradigm in development that is people-centered, participatory. In this context, efforts to empower the community (empowering) can be studied from three aspects, the first is enabling, namely creating an atmosphere that allows the community's potential to develop. Second, empowering, namely strengthening the potential of the community through concrete steps involving the provision of various opportunities that will make the community more empowered. Third, protecting, namely protecting and defending the interests of the weak. Economic empowerment is an effort to become a strong, large, modern and highly competitive economy. The method used in the literature review begins with selecting a topic, then determining keywords to search for journals using Indonesian through the database, namely Google Scholar. Based on several explanations put forward. The main goal of community empowerment is to improve people's welfare through their potential so that they are able to improve a better quality of life through self-help activities.

Abstract

Financial literacy is the knowledge, skills and beliefs that influence attitudes and behaviors to improve the quality of decision-making and financial management to achieve public financial welfare. The understanding of financial literacy is one of the things that must be strengthened so that people can become wiser in making financial decisions. The results of observations and interviews conducted in Kelurahan Tanah Enam Ratus, Medan Marelan Subdistrict, we describe how many children spend their money to play online games on mobile applications, even they are not aware of topping up games repeatedly. This community service activity aims to provide an understanding of financial literacy and integrity from an early age, so as to improve the quality of students' insights, knowledge, value skills and attitudes. The implementation of this service at Harapan Bangsa Islamic Elementary School, Neighborhood VI, Tanah Enam Hundred Village. The students will be taught to learn independently and practice not relying on their parents from an early age through saving habits. The method used is through observation, interviews and theoretical presentation and training which begins with an explanation related to financial literacy and integrity. Direct explanation and training to students through financial literacy simulations by saving money carried out for seven days by putting it into each envelope. The implementation of financial literacy activities for students in schools to build integrity is expected to produce a generation that can manage their finances wisely and form individuals to be responsible and trustworthy. This service is expected to improve financial literacy and integrity attitudes so as to foster students' interest in saving from an early age and teach discipline and careful planning as well as increasing awareness to achieve success in the future.

Abstract

Fertilizer is one of the important inputs in increasing the productivity of food crops, so that its existence and utilization has a strategic position. One of the policies in the procurement of fertilizers is fertilizer subsidies. Fertilizer subsidies have long been implemented with various policies that follow it, such as policies on fertilizer procurement, distribution of fertilizers and supervision of subsidized fertilizers. The problem faced is that local people do not know which are subsidized and non-subsidized fertilizers. So that with this extension, the Kepala Sungai community can find out the type and method of obtaining the fertilizer. This PKM activity has added insight from the local community in knowing which fertilizers are subsidized and non-subsidized, although there are some things that still need to be improved for the progress of agriculture in the future. In Indonesia, the distribution of fertilizer subsidies is currently still constrained. These deviations include incomplete RDKK data collection, distribution of subsidized fertilizers to unauthorized parties, lack of distribution volume that causes a shortage of fertilizers, procurement and distribution of subsidized fertilizers by the fertilizer industry, obstacles in calculating fertilizer subsidies, and supervision of subsidized fertilizer distribution. Most of the deviations in the implementation of subsidized fertilizer program policies occur at the retailer, distributor and producer level as well as the weak mechanism for monitoring the implementation of subsidized fertilizers. Aspects of transparency and information disclosure in the implementation chain of the subsidized fertilizer policy program are also still weak. The strategy for distributing or distributing subsidized fertilizers in Indonesia can be implemented through several distribution alternatives.

Abstract

The problems that will be resolved in this PKM consist of: (a) some students have experienced things that were painful and caused trauma, but have not been able to recover (b) students have an underestimation of themselves, and (c) students need assistance to healing mindset in dealing with life. The targets for this PKM were 20 students of the BK FKIP UM-Tapsel study program in the form of group counseling. The solution offered is training in writing about traumatic experiences for students for two months, after which group counseling will be carried out for students for two months. For four months, these meetings have included training in writing about past experiences, expressing writing along with a healing mindset in the form of public speaking, listening to other students' life experiences, and empathizing with other students' experiences.

Abstract

Dari hasil pertanian yang dilakukan warga desa Aras diperoleh hasil samping salah satunya brangkasan jagung. Hasil samping ini belum banyak dimanfaatkan oleh warga desa, karena minimnya pengetahuan dalam hal pemanfaatan hasil samping pertania khususnya brangkasan jagung. Uraian di atas menjelaskan  bahwa hasil samping pertanian di desa Aras Kecamatan Air Putih Kabupaten Batubara berupa brangkasan jagung dari panen akhir yang jumlahnya tergantung kepada  jenis usaha tanaman jagungnya belum dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya. Hasil samping tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi sumber pakan ternak ruminansia melalui pelatihan kepada warga desa Aras, sehingga dapat menjamin ketersediaan pakan ternak sepanjang waktu dengan menggunakan metode fermentasi/pengomposan.

Abstract

Tumpatan Nibung Village is located in Batang Kuis District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. The people of Tumpatan Nibung Village live from agriculture, which consists of 90 percent of their living from cultivating paddy rice and 10 percent cultivating vegetable crops. The land in this village is rainfed land which has limited water, because it does not have irrigation so that the need for water depends on rainfall. The purpose of this service is to increase farmers' understanding of the benefits of using organic fertilizers both for the environment and to reduce the cost of buying chemical fertilizers and to provide added value for organic products that can increase income and also aims to transfer technology by providing training to farmers on how to make organic fertilizers derived from available in the village. The first method used was counseling to Farmer Groups with the theme of the benefits of organic fertilizers for the environment, calculating the cost of using organic fertilizers and the added value of organic fertilizers which can increase farmers' income. The second method used is training in making organic fertilizers. The third method is a demonstration plot for making organic fertilizer and cultivating vegetable crops using organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Go green school program is to create good conditions for schools to be a place of learning and awareness of the school community, so that teachers and students can share responsibility in the effort to save the environment and sustainable development of the school is expected to create and maintain schools that have environmental and sanitary clean, healthy, comfortable and shady with trees. But in reality, the school community to create awareness of environmentally friendly behavior are still facing obstacles. Some problems in the school is the limited human resources to implement the program GGS (both teachers and students), there is no group of activists go green school of students, lack of awareness and knowledge of the school community in the management of organic and inorganic waste, lack of knowledge of process organic waste into organic fertilizers, the limited open space that can be planted with trees, a lack of knowledge of the choice of plants that suit the environment, the limitations of infrastructure and funding for the implementation of programs go green school.To overcome these problems do community service through IbM program with one or two partners namely SMA AnNizam  and SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Medan. Team Community Service Faculty of Teacher Training and Education UISU will do counseling, training, creation of organic fertilizer or compost, formed a task force to go green school students, planting potted plant species adapted to the conditions of the school environment.  With IbM go green school program, is expected to partner schools can overcome the obstacles encountered thus changing the behavior of people in schools that are environmentally friendly and can run a green school program.
