Abstract

Using IFLS data 2007 and 2014, this study aims to examine the impact of parents’ education and attending vocational high school to the probability of children attending tertiary education. This study is motivated by the government plan in increasing the proportion of vocational high school graduates compare to general high school graduates. Multinomial-Logit model is used to examine the senior high school types, Logit and Probit are used to examine the decision on pursuing tertiary education. The main conclusions are (1)  parents’ education has significant impact on the children’s senior high school preference and college enrollment, (2) children who attended vocational senior high school have a lower probability to enrol in tertiary education compared to those who attended general senior high school or MA

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan proses belajar siswa SMKN 3 Yogyakarta kompetensi keahlian teknik kendaraan ringan di tempat kerja dalam pelaksanaan praktek kerja industri (prakerind). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah empat manager/pihak DUDI yang mengelola pelaksanaan prakerind dan tujuh siswa yang terlibat dalam kegiatan prakerind pada empat DUDI tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan ialah metode Miles dan Huberman, melalui tahapan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. 1) Pengaturan belajar siswa di tempat kerja dengan membatasi jumlah siswa dalam pekerjaan dan menjadikan siswa sebagai helper mekanik. 2) Proses pembelajaran siswa di tempat kerja: (a) belajar melalui pekerjaan dengan mengikuti mekanik; (b) peran mekanik: memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk melakukan pekerjaan secara langsung dengan bimbingan dan pengawasan, memberikan penilaian terhadap kinerja siswa; (c) cara siswa mendapatkan kompetensi di tempat kerja: (1) berkomunikasi dan bersosialisasi, (2) rajin dan ulet, (3) memiliki inisiatif dan aktif; (d) pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap yang diperoleh siswa di tempat kerja: (1) pengetahuan tentang dunia kerja bengkel otomotif dan pengalaman kerja pada pekerjaan yang sesungguhnya, (2) kategori kompetensi siswa yang diperoleh dalam prakerind untuk kategori bengkel besar dan kecil adalah kategori specialist, sedangkan untuk kategori bengkel menengah masih dalam kategori orang yang belum berpengalaman, (3) sikap siswa sesuai dengan budaya kerja di DUDI yaitu kerja keras dan peduli mutu. PROCESS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES AT INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT PROGRAM FOR LIGHT VEHICLES STUDY PROGRAM: A CASE STUDY AT PARTNERS INDUSTRIES OF SMKN 3 YOGYAKARTAAbstractThe objectives of this research were to describe the learning process of the students of SMKN 3 Yogyakarta of skill competence of light vehicle in the implementation of industrial practice (prakerind). This research used a case study qualitative approach. The subjects were four managers who managed the implementation of Industrial Attachment and seven students who were involved in prakerind activities at those four industries. The data collection was conducted through observations and interviews. The data analysis techniques used were Miles and Huberman methods conducted in four steps: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research are as follows. 1) The arrangement of students’ learning at workplace is done by limiting the number of students in working and making the students as the mechanic helpers. 2) The learning process at workplace: (a) learning by working which follows the mechanic; (b) the mechanic role: provides the opportunities to the students to work directly with guidance and supervision, gives the assessments to students’ performances; (c) the students’ way for getting the competencies at workplace: (1) by communicating and socializing, (2) by being diligent and tenacious, (3) by having the initiative and active; (d) knowledge, skill, and attitude obtained by the students in the workplace: (1) the students have the knowledge of the work field of automotive and the work experience at the real work, (2) the category of the students’ competence obtained in prakerind for the basic category and the small category is in the specialist category, while for the middle category, it is still in the novice category, (3) the students’ attitude based on the work culture in DUDI is hardwork and quality care.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to find the determinants of e-learning implementation by teachers of vocational school in the Yogyakarta Special Region. The research objective was achieved by describing the essential influence of social environment and facilitating conditions toward the technology acceptance model of e-learning. The study was a correlational research one with an ex-post facto approach. The number of research sample was 132 teachers and the research sample was determined by the Krejcie Morgan formula. The research sample was distributed by means of proportional random sampling technique. The primary data source was the teachers’ self report which had been collected by using a questionnaire. The observation and the open-ended interviews were conducted in order to support the primary data. The content validity was assessed by means of expert judgment and the construct validity was calculated by means of Pearson correlation. The reliability was determined by means  of Cronbach's Alpha minimum value namely 0.70. The data analysis was performed by  using path analysis at a significance level of 0.05. The study concluded that the effect of social environment and facilitating conditions to the e-learning usage had been mediated by three main variables of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), namely perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and intention to use.Keywords: E-learning, technology acceptance model, social environment, facilitating conditions. DETERMINAN PENGGUNAAN E-LEARNING OLEH GURU SMK DI DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKARTAAbstrakStudi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor determinan penggunaan e-learning oleh guru SMK di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Tujuan ini dicapai dengan cara menjelaskan hakikat pengaruh lingkungan sosial sekolah dan kondisi fasilitas teknologi terhadap model penerimaan teknologi e-learning. Studi ini merupakan penelitian korelasional bersifat ex-post facto. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 132 guru ditentukan menggunakan formula Krejcie Morgan didistribusikan dengan teknik proportional random sampling. Sumber data primer adalah laporan diri guru, dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner. Observasi dan wawancara terbuka dilakukan sebagai pendukung data primer. Validasi isi dilakukan dengan expert judgment  dan validasi konstruk dilakukan dengan korelasi Pearson. Reliabilitas ditentukan dengan dengan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha minimal 0,70. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis jalur pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil studi menunjukkan pengaruh lingkungan sosial dan kondisi yang memfasilitasi terhadap penggunaan e-learning dimediasi oleh tiga variabel utama model penerimaan teknologi, yaitu kegunaan, kemudahan penggunaan, dan intensi.Kata kunci: e-learning, model penerimaan teknologi, lingkungan sosial, kondisi yang memfasilitas

Abstract

This research was motivated by the entrepreneurship learning outcomes in vocational education which is still poor. Technopreneurship scientific learning and learning readiness are assumed to be factors affecting entrepreneurship learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to describe and test the contribution of technopreneurship scientific learning and readiness to learning of entrepreneurship learning outcomes. This research used the quantitative method with correlation descriptive. The population was all students who follow the general course of entrepreneurship in Higher Education for 1100 people. While the samples are 217 students who were selected by using proportional stratified random sampling. This research tool was a Likert scale and a valid and reliable reading comprehension test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, simple regression and multiple regressions. The research findings show that there is a contribution of both technopreneurship scientific learning and learning readiness to entrepreneurship learning outcomes.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengetahui kontribusi manajemen operasi laboratorium, (2) pemanfaatan internet, dan (3) motivasi berprestasi terhadap hasil belajar siswa jurusan RPL seKabupaten Bantul. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan kuesioner. Statistik inferensial digunakan dengan metode analisis deskriptif dan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) manajemen operasi laboratorium komputer cenderung pada kategori sangat baik; (2) Pemanfaatan internet cenderung pada kategori buruk; (3) motivasi berprestasi cenderung pada kategori baik; (4) hasil belajar cenderung pada kategori cukup. Pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat kontribusi positif dan signifikan antara manajemen operasi laboratorium komputer dengan hasil belajar siswa; (2) terdapat kontribusi positif dan signifikan antara pemanfaatan internet dengan hasil belajar siswa; (3) terdapat kontribusi positif dan signifikan antara motivasi berprestasi dengan hasil belajar siswa; (4) terdapat kontribusi positif dan signifikan antara manajemen operasi laboratorium komputer, pemanfaatan internet dan motivasi berprestasi dengan hasil belajar siswa SMK jurusan RPL se-Kabupaten Bantul. THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF COMPUTER LABORATORY, THE INTERNET AND ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION TO STUDENT’S ACHIEVEMENT OF SOFTWARE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT IN THE DISTRICT OF BANTULAbstractThis research is aimed to: (1) find out the contribution of laboratory operation management, (2) the use of internet, and (3) the achievement motivation on the students learning outcomes in Software Engineering in Bantul district. Questionnaire and test was used to explore the data. Inferential statistic was used with the descriptive analyse and multiple linier regression analayse. to test the validity and reliability of the research instruments. The results obtained are as follows: (1) The score of the computer lab operation management is at a very good category. (2) The score of the use of the internet is at poor category. (3) Achievement motivation scores obtain good category. (4) The score of the variables of outcome studied at fairl category. Hypothesis testing shows the following result: (1) There is a positive and significant contribution of the operations labs computer management to student learning outcomes; (2) There is a positive and significant contribution of the use of the internet to student learning outcomes; (3) There is a positive and significant contribution of the achievement motivation to student learning outcomes; (4) There is a positive and significant contribution of the operation management of computer laboratory, internet utilization and achievement motivation to student learning outcomes of vocational students majoring in Software Engineering in Bantul district.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) developing a basic electronics learning modules based on problem solving, (2) knowing the response of students and teachers towards basic electronics learning module based on problem solving, (3) knowing the increase in student learning outcomes on subjects Basic electronics. This research method using Research and Development approach to model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subject of this research development are the first grade of Installation Technique of Electricity Power at SMK Negeri 2 Pandeglang as much as 118 students and 3 teachers on Basic electronics subject of SMK Negeri 2 Pandeglang. Furthermore, data collected by the questionnaire and test. Test validity and reliability for the question form is done with a technique Pearson Correlation coefficient obtained 0.88 and coefficient value of Cronbach's Alpha is 0.892. The results of this research are showed that: 1) the basic electronics learning modules based on problem solving that developed in its entirety was declared eligible for use, with the result average of validation of material categories include very decent, and the result average of validation of media categories include very decent too. The readability is included in category of very decent and in terms of learning to use the modules is included in the category of very decent. Using modules in the learning process are known there is increasing with the average value of the students learning outcomes of 68.53 rises to 80.24. T-test analysis results known tcalculate = 11.76 and ttable = 1.69 which means that the student learning outcomes has a significant improvement

Abstract

The independence of student learning in recent years was discussed in several articles. Through the development of an independent attitude in learning, students can diagnose learning difficulties and find the right solution to solve them. This study was aimed at finding out how the influence of learning independence on students' accounting learning outcomes. The type of research used is ex-post facto quantitative research. The population of the research is all students of class XI of Public Middle School in the city of Yogyakarta, with a total of 156 students. The instruments used were questionnaires and multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Validity and reliability of the questionnaire were measured using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) through the Lisrel 8.80 application, while the validity and reliability of MCQs were measured using Rasch approach through the Quest application. Several questionnaires in the form of questionnaires and documentation were used on the testing instrument. The number of instruments for learning independence was 19 statements. The closed statement form used a Likert scale consisting of five alternative answers. The number of MCQs is 18 questions. There were 18 valid statements found after going through the calculation of validation, reliability, difficulty level of the question, and distinguishing power. Simple regression was used for the data analysis technique. The results of the study show that the learning independence variable has a significant and positive influence. It can be seen from the learning independence variable, which has a value of 2.187 and a significance value smaller than 0.05 (0.030 0.05).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) upaya meningkatkan kompetensi membuat garnish, (2) peningkatan kompetensi sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan dua siklus tindakan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes tulis, tes kinerja dan analisa data secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan (1) untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran menggunakan media sosial yang terdiri dari Facebook, google, dan Youtube; (2) Ketercapaian secara umum pada siklus I dengan kategori baik dan siklus II dengan kategori sangat baik. Ketercapaian tersebut terdiri dari: (a) ranah sikap pada pembelajaran di luar kelas rata-rata mencapai kategori sangat baik, sedangkan ranah sikap siswa pada pembelajaran di dalam kelas rata-rata mencapai kategori sangat baik; (b) ranah pengetahuan mencapai kategori sangat baik; (c) ranah keterampilan mencapai sangat baik. IMPROVING COMPETENCIES OF MAKING GARNISHES ON BASIC CULLINARY THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA USAGEAbstractThis study aim to know: (1) the effort of improving students’ competencies in making garnishes of food and beverages , (2) the improvement students’ competencies that were consist of: affective, cognitive, and psicomotoric. This study was a classroom action research that was conducted on two cyclesThe data collection techniques included observations, written tests, and performance test. The data were analyzed descriptively. The result of the study indicates that (1) to improve the learning used the social media that consist of Facebook, google, dan Youtube; (2) generality, the attainment of students’ competencies in cycle I on good category and in cycle II on very good category. The attainments were as follow: (a) the attainment of affective aspect in outside classroom average on very good category; The attainment of affective aspect in the average on very good category; (b) the attainment of cognitive aspect on very good category; (c) the attainment of psychomotoric aspect was on very good category.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) to know the design of delivery strategy of learning of productive lesson; (2) to know the implementation of delivery strategy of learning of productive lesson; and (3) to find out the result of applying the delivery strategy of learning of productive lesson. This research uses qualitative phenomenological approach with multi-case design. Informants in this study are students, teachers, leaders of Vocational High School in Serang City. Data collection through interviews and observation. Data analysis technique is Miles Huberman interactive model. The results of this study found that (1) The design of the delivery of learning strategies productive lesson conducted by teachers is to design learning strategies by involving the media and based on the goal; (2) At the time of learning activities of productive lesson take place, the strategy used by teachers is the use of instructional media by demonstrating to students in front of the classroom; and (3) The implementation of learning delivery strategy of productive lesson applied by the teachers from each of the research sites resulted in increased value.
