The number of cases and prevalence of diabetes has continued to increase over the last 10 years. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease characterized by blood glucose levels above normal values (> 200 mg/dl). This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between duration of diabetes mellitus and blood sugar levels with sleep quality in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. This study used an observational analytic method with a cross sectional approach. It was found that there was no relationship between duration of suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus and sleep quality with the result Asym-sig = 0.585 (p >0.05). It is known that there is no relationship between blood sugar levels and sleep quality with the result Asym-sig = 0.887 (p>0.05). There is no significant relationship between duration of suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus and blood sugar levels with sleep quality.

Abstract

Soil Transmitted Helminth is an infection that causes malnutrition, anemia, growth retardation. Transmission is through contact with eggs or larvae in the soil. Cases of STH infection in Indonesia are high in areas of poor sanitation, poor hygiene and lack of understanding of clean and healthy lifestyles. Therefore, this study aims to determine the contamination of STH eggs on soil in rural and urban areas. This research is a cross-sectional study with purposive sampling. The number of samples is 90 soil sample points in rural and urban areas and then the univariate and bivariate analysis tests are carried out using the pearson chi-square Test. The number of STH contamination in rural areas was 29 out of 90 samples with 26 samples of Ascaris lumbricoides, 2 samples of Hookworm, and 1 sample of Trichuris trichiura. STH egg contamination in urban areas was 22 out of 90 samples with details of 17 samples of Ascaris lumbricoides, 3 samples of Hookworm, and 2 samples of Trichuris trichiura. Based on the results of the pearson chi-square Test analysis, a p-value of 0.467 was obtained. There is no difference in contamination of STH eggs on soil in rural and urban areas.

Abstract

Depression is a mood disorder. Depression is characterized by a feeling of sadness that lasts continuously and for a long time, which can interfere with a person's physical condition and social life. Around 121 million people in the world suffer from depression. It is estimated that only 30% of people with depression get proper treatment. This number does not include people who have clinical symptoms of depression but are not actually diagnosed. Some patients are also considered not to get proper treatment. The number of Indonesian populations aged more than 15 years and diagnosed with depression is 12 million sufferers. Pharmacological therapy in depressed patients is antidepressants such as serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). However, there are side effects that can result from long-term use of these drugs. Therefore, other treatments such as giving herbal medicines are needed to reduce symptoms in people with depression. Giving caffeine with the right dose can reduce the risk of depression, because of its ability to block the adenosine receptor subunit. However, caffeine consumption with doses above 68mg and below 509mg per day is assessed to have the opposite effect that increases the risk of developing depression.

Due to its high prevalence, hypertension is a major global health problem and the main cause of death and disability in the world every year.12 Treatment of hypertension is carried out for a long time so that the success of hypertension treatment is strongly influenced by self management of patients to adhere to the treatment, routinely checking blood pressure, increasing physical activity, reducing cunsumption of foods containing sodium.11 Self management of hypertension has an important role in effective control off blood pressure in patient with hypertension.3 One of the ways to increase knowledge related to the prevention and control of hypertension is through education.10 The education provided in the form of theoretical materials such as lectures, discussions, counseling, e-learning, and also practices such as workshops or training with various related topics. The materials provided is in the form of facts about hypertension such as definitions, signs and symptoms, risk factors, how to diagnose and treat them, normal blood pressure, hypertension prevention, complications, drug use, drug side effects, the importance of taking medication regulary, the importance of blood pressure checks periodically, diet, physical activity, relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, muscle relaxation, guided imagery.18

Abstract

Rheumatoid arthritis is the result of a chronic inflammatory process that involves the immune system. One of the antibodies that is often detected in RA and scleritis patients is rheumatoid factor (RF). RF are antibodies produced by the immune system to attack the body's own tissues, including joints and synovial membranes. Another part of the antibody effect that is cyclic anti-citrate antibody (Anti-CCP), is an antibody that recognizes citrulinating proteins in body tissues, namely certain protein modifications that occur in RA patients and are considered as important factors in the pathogenesis of this disease. Increased RF levels can occur in patients with RA as well as in patients with scleritis. Scleritis is an inflammatory condition of the sclera, which is the thick white layer that lines the front of the eyeball. The etiology or cause of scleritis is still not known with certainty, apart from uncertain etiology, there are factors that can increase the risk of developing scleritis, such as autoimmune diseases, infections, vascular disorders, trauma, and drugs. This literature review discusses the relationship between rheumatoid arthritis and scleritis.

Abstract

The current pattern of disease incidence has undergone changes which are characterized by epidemiological transitions. Changes in disease patterns that were originally dominated by infectious diseases turned to non-communicable diseases. Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus are one of the non-communicable diseases which are very serious health problems both in the world and in Indonesia. The purpose of this case report is to implement a holistic and comprehensive family doctor service by identifying risk factors, clinical problems, and patient management based on evidence-based medicine with a patient-centered and family approach. This study is a case report study. Primary data were obtained through history taking (autoanamnesis from the patient and alloanamnesis from the patient's family), physical examination and home visits. Secondary data were obtained from the patient's medical record. Assessment is based on a holistic diagnosis from the beginning, process, and end of the study qualitatively and quantitatively. Patient Mrs. E is 42 years old, has been diagnosed with hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus with neuropathy has concerns about his health condition getting worse. The patient's hope is that the complaints disappear completely and do not recur, so they can be comfortable with their activities as usual. The patient's limited knowledge of the illness and an unfavorable lifestyle are factors that cause problems that occur in patients and their families. The diagnosis of hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus with neuropathy in this case is in accordance with several theories and critical studies from recent research. Management has been given in accordance with the management guidelines. There is good progress in patients starting from decreased clinical symptoms to changes in behavior after an intervention based on evidence-based medicine that is family-approach and patient-centered.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases (PTM) which is a very serious health problem both in the world and in Indonesia and is the cause of death which reaches 6.7% of the population at all ages in Indonesia. Dyspepsia is a health problem that is often encountered in daily practice. It is estimated that nearly 30% of cases found in general practice and 60% in gastroenterology practice are dyspepsia. A 41-year-old female patient came to the health center with complaints of dizziness, nausea, vomiting and cold sweat. The patient has a history of hypertension since 2013. In addition, patients also often complain of pain in the pit of the stomach. Complaints are felt repeatedly. Patients do not routinely take antihypertensive medication and do not routinely control and do not follow a healthy lifestyle. Patients have a desire to know more about the patient's illness and want to recover. The patient's knowledge about the disease is lacking, as well as curative treatment patterns, poor diet, rarely exercise and moderate physical activity. Diagnosis and management of these patients has been carried out in a holistic, patient-centered, family approach based on evidence-based medicine and there have been changes in the knowledge and behavior of patients and families after the intervention.
