Abstract

This research aims at revealing the scientific dialectics of Tremas Boarding School in a gender perspective. It is kind of field Research that was carried out in Tremas Boarding, located in Tremas Village, Arjosari District, Pacitan. The technique of taking the subjects in this research was purposive sampling. And the methods of collecting data are observation, interviews, and literature study. Based on the Research findings that the scientific dialectics of Tremas boarding school in the gender perspective is revealed in: 1) the process of Ijab (consent) and qabul (acceptance) between foster parent and Kiai, 2) the system of Teaching and Education, 3) the study of Islamic classic books (well-known as yellow books), 4) concept of Kiai toward gender. The fourth aspecst shows that the strong dialectics of gender is occured in this boarding school. There is no distinction and impairment in each other. Men are not treated more superior than women, and women are not treated more privileged than men. Abstract

Studies on the implementation of basic and secondary education become very urgent in the era of regional autonomy, considering that not all areas can be to support the existing schools in the area to carry out eight national education standards with good and proper. This paper wants to show how the level of perception and expectations of the public on the implementation of primary and secondary education program which includes eight national education standards in the area of Ponorogo. Results of this study can provide input to local governments even specifically to schools in Ponorogo thatthe implementation of primary and secondary education must still be improved. Given this level of education is a solid foundation for the development of human resources before going on a higher level. Many people (more so the parents guardians) hopes on the success of their children’s education.Keywords: Perceptions, expectations, primary and secondary education.

Abstract

This research is aimed at: (1) describing the structure of the poem in poem collections of Kerygma & Martyria Remy Sylado work, (2) describing the meaning of treatise (risalah) of religiosity in poem collections of Kerygma & Martyria, Remy Sylado work using semiotic approach. The poems presented in this study are: “Age of Torment”, “Opus of Painting”, “Counting Horizon”, “When The Eyes are Closed”, “Christian-Islam”. Data analysis techniques used in this research were semiotic reading model of Riffatere (heuristic and hermeneutic reading) and Pierce semiotic (with icon, index, and symbol). Based on the semiotic reading of Kerygma & Martyria poetry work of Remy Syladopoet, those were found a poet religious treatise that included (1) treatise of religiosity towardportrait of human life being visible in the poem of “Age of Torment” (2) treatise of religiosity to inspire His Greatness was visible in the poem of “Opus of Painting” and “Counting Horizon” (3) treatise of the religiosity toward the human nature was visible in the poem of “When The Eyes are closed” (4) treatise of religiosity toward mutual respect of religious differences (Pluralism) was visible in the poem of “Christian-Islamic“.Keywords: Treatise, Religiosity, and Semiotic.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to find out the meaning variations between John Steinbeck’s of Mice and Men (original version) and Premoedya Ananta Toer’s Tikus dan Manusia (translated version) and the probable reasons that motivate the occurrence of meaning variations between John Steinbeck’s of Mice and Men (original version) and Premoedya Ananta Toer’s Tikus dan Manusia (translated version). This research was descriptive quantitative research. The data were gathered through reading both of the novels and putting the clauses into the table to be analyzed. The results showed that the meaning differences between SL and TL were classified into seven levels of meaning differences: the lowest differences, very low differences, low differences, medium differences, high differences, very high differences, and the highest differences. The meaning differences were caused by eleven factors, namely the element and clause omission, the element and clause addition, the changing of word, the different sense of word, the use of informal word in SL and the formal word in TL, the deletion of marking relationship/conjunction between clauses, the use of idioms, the use of active formation in SL and passive formation in TL, the changing of back and forth formation or structure shift.Keywords: meaning differences, interpersonal meanings, novel

Abstract

The main target of the obligatory rural social internships for university students’ program (KKN-PPM) is to increase the gross enrollment rate (APK) of secondary and higher education in Gondang village society, which can directly improve the Human Development Index (HDI). In addition, KKN-PPM is projected to create society self-reliance, by optimizing the local potency of the village. KKN program for society empowerment is an option to raise the potency and overcome all the existing problems in the Gondang village as well as strengthen the global commitment of the year 2000, on the establishment of aims and targets of the Millennium Development Ages or Millenneum Development Goals (MDGs). This community empowerment is established, guided and developed as a social institution in the form of friendship forums, advocacy, communication, education and, activity medium to strengthen integrated family functions that is established and carried out from, by and for their families and communities. Thus, the principle of transfering science and technology can be fulfilled. Because there is a flow of solution from the campus intellectuals, and as a consequence, three is a challenge flow from the society. Having KKN, for community service of civitas academicians STKIP PGRI Pacitan, forms a response to the dynamic society that is always closely correlated with the developing issues, needs and faced challenges.Keywords:acceleration, community development, optimization, local potential.

Abstract

This research is constituted by the application of teaching early reading literacy impplemented in some schools across ex-residency Madiun. The teaching should implement character based teaching as an introduction into the ability of early reading literacy. That is carried out for various reasons, for example, the demands of the students’ parent, the demands of the furhter school level, commercial reasons, and so forth. This study implemented a combination of research methods. Initiated into content validity analysis or analysis of existing learning contents based on theory of study the effectiveness of learning, then combined with observations and school interviews and literature study,narrowing the findings to lead the new concept for early reading literacy learning. 40 Schools being randomly selected were used in this research in the ex-residency Madiun. These research findings illustrated the true condition about the application of early reading literacy learning in the field. Referring to the findings of questionnaires and interviews, the teaching of early reading literacy was delivered in additional learning program. This made it possible to avoid infringement of the government rules about unpermitted learning at that level. Besides, those were found the lack of some language components that allows the imperfectness of introduction and readiness of children to acquaint the language. Furthermore, it lacked involvement of children playing environment both at home and at school for learning outcome optimality. Finally those findings were used as a reference to create an integrated learning tools in the children’s playground in the form of teachers and parents’ guide.Keyword: Reading, Young learner preschool, Playing, and Environment.

Abstract

The vision of national education development is “Realization of intelligent, productive, and noble people in Indonesia.” Section 8 states that “Teachers have to be obligatory to have academic qualification, competence, educator certificate, be physically and mentally health, and have the ability to realize the goal of national education”. National Education Standard is an aim as one of the quality education assurance to be properly implemented and not be just a symbol. National Education Standard, whcih includes content and process standard, graduate competency, educator and educational personnel, facility and infrastructure, management, financing, educational assessment, accreditation and others, are major requirement for the government that needs standard competency and quality of education. Teacher is a human component for the learning process that has a role of reaching the determined educational goals. Therefore, teaching is a professional work, because of the technique and procedure use which stand on an intellectual basis on behalf of the other benefits.Keywords: Quality, Education and Teacher Professionalism

Abstract

This article attempts to reveal the science development from time to time. Being its wider field and scientific study, the authors focused only on the development of science which had been discovered by earlier scientists from generation to generation. Where pioneering personage of his day had been succesful to carve the milestones of a theory to be utilized as a study and produce a variety of science becoming increasingly sophisticated technology in this era. The development of science in this period can not be separated away from the role of philosophy of science. So the researchers probed the initial data from the philosophy of science that had been developed by the Greek philosophers. Many experts were debating the onset of science. Some stated that science existed since pre-history, in which the time, according to the experts, was declared as the period of pre-history (not familiar with writing).Keywords: Periodization, Development of science, and Philosophy of science.
