Menara Riau: Jurnal Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Pengembangan Masyarakat Islam (Print ISSN: 2085-8833 | Online ISSN: 2797-6963), merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau sejak tahun 2004. Jurnal Menara Riau ini semula merupakan jurnal yang berada di bawah Lembaga Pengabdian Masyarakat dan hanya memuat hasil riset ilmiah dosen dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Namun sejak terjadinya peleburan Lembaga Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPM) ke dalam Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM), maka jurnal Menara Riau fokus mempublikasikan hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan berbagai pendekatan dari berbagai disiplin ilmu baik agama, sosial humaniora, maupun sains dan teknologi. Mulai terbitan tahun 2020 Menara Riau diterbitkan dua kali setahun (April dan Oktober)

Abstract

The function of da'wah is to spread Islam to mankind as members of society so that they have good morals and behavior according to Islamic guidance. The method of delivering da'wah is important so that what is conveyed is true and correct. This service aims to foster Akit Tribe converts, through da'wah communication and interpersonal communication as a medium of learning that is carried out in fostering converts to converts at Rumah Saudara Baru. The subject of this service activity consisted of 8 converts to Islam with an observation, interview, and documentation approach. The results of the service show that the development of Akit tribe converts uses lecture, demonstration, question and answer, and discussion methods, analyzed using Fritz Heider's Attribution theory. Interpersonal communication and group communication patterns include reading the Qur'an and religious lectures. Seen based on the direction of information that is circle pattern and chain pattern. Both are described in accordance with the form of activity, messages through the communication media of the coach. The results of the service are used as input for fostering converts to Islam to develop more interesting and varied learning methods in the future.

Abstract

Many destruction and neglect of historical and cultural heritage are caused by a lack of conservation literacy. The younger generation must be appropriately informed about this issue to build apprehension and give ideas and creativity concerning preservation. Senapelan, as the ancient city area is known now, is rich in historical and cultural value. Unfortunately, the existence of these relics has not been effectively used for the benefit of science and society. On the other hand, a community of observers or historical activists seeking recognition for their efforts in promoting historical heritage and tourism has begun to emerge. Collaboration between universities and historical and tourism observers communities can take place, giving meaning to campus support for conservation efforts carried out by the community. The activity partners are young people who are intended to motivate the community to care for the environment. They get new knowledge, a new and different concept of conservation, and a lasting impact. They can comprehend that conservation is more than just safeguarding cultural heritage or keeping it clean; it is also about developing and exploiting it for the benefit of the community.

Abstract

Writing articles or scientific papers is an activity that cannot be avoided in the academic world. The problem is that not all writings produced can be protected from integrity violations such as plagiarism and originality of works. For this reason, training is needed to assist the Turnitin software's operation. The aim is to provide the knowledge and skills required to prevent plagiarism in student academic writing. The Participatory Action Research approach was chosen to emphasize cooperation and active participation of stakeholders in the mentoring process. Participants included study program staff, academics and lecturers in the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The activity was carried out using the lecture method and demonstration of the operation of Turnitin. The results show that the Participatory Action Research approach effectively promotes participants' active participation, leading to successful training sessions. The results of this activity are expected to contribute to ongoing efforts to promote responsible and ethical academic practices for students and lecturers.

Abstract

The condition of a pandemic spreading the Covid-19 virus that occurred in Indonesia in early 2019 inevitably caused the dynamics of a shift in the learning model from outdoor/face-to-face to online/virtual, as well as various monthly activities in the form of workshops and other activities. to improve the competence of all teacher educators in the Sakura Cluster environment. The purpose of this activity is that Kindergarten/PAUD teachers in Cluster VI Sakura can get to know google classroom and implement google classroom and assist in teaching and learning activities that are carried out online. The method of implementing the activities carried out in this activity with reference to the problem solving framework previously described, namely varied lectures. The results of this community service activity include increasing the skills of kindergarten/PAUD teachers who are gathered in Cluster VI Sakura, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City in using and utilizing technology and GAFE (especially google classroom) for the learning and teaching process, especially now that is done online.

Abstract

Hyperlipidemia is one of the non-communicable diseases which is the top 10 leading causes of death globally. The prevalence of hyperlipidemia in Indonesia in the 25-34 year age group is 9.3% and in the 55-64 year age group it has increased to 15.5%. The geographical conditions of Karangnongko Village are favorable for the growth of Moringa plants, so that many Moringa plants grow in residents' yards. For this reason, the KKM 135 team at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held counseling and training activities for women from the PKK driving team to improve the health status of the Karangnongko village community by making nutraceutical products Moringa dimsum. This activity is carried out using lecture methods, discussions, and direct practice through training. The results of community service activities show that the community does not know about hyperlipidemia. With counseling and training in the manufacture of nutraceutical products, the public knows more about hyperlipidemia and nutraceutical products as new innovations. After being given the material, the community began to understand hyperlipidemia and the nutraceutical product Moringa Dimsum as a way to prevent it.

Abstract

The development of well-planned tourist objects not only brings economic benefits that increase the level, quality and standard of living of the local community, but also improves and maintains a good environment. The purpose of this activity is to: Provide understanding and knowledge to the people of Kampar Kiri Hulu District, Kampar Regency about the use of social media for the Batudinding Waterfall tourist attraction. The teaching methods used to support the success of the program include lectures and questions and answers. This method was chosen to explain material that is theoretical in nature and related to tourism awareness and the Batudinding waterfall demonstration. This method is used to explain the process of working in stages so that participants can follow the process of tourism potential carefully. The impacts of this useful activity are: 1) the community is able to develop and promote tourism at Batudinding Waterfalls through social media, 2) increase the knowledge of the Pokdarwis of Tanjung Belit Village about the community's economic potential in the field of tourism, 4) increase the creativity of the community in processing natural resources around the village.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to increase the understanding of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) managers regarding Islamic financial management and increase the motivation of BUMDes managers to carry out Islamic financial management in BUMDes management. The strategy used in the implementation of community service is to start with conducting a situation analysis, then the service team determines the method of solving the problem, namely providing understanding and motivation regarding Islamic financial management in the form of socialization. The target audience of this service is the manager of the Taiba Smart BUMDes. The results of this community service activity note that the management of Taiba Smart BUMDes has not implemented sharia financial management in operations because Taiba Smart BUMdes in general still use conventional systems. From the socialization results, it is known that the understanding of BUMDes management regarding Islamic financial management has increased. Sharia financial management that can be carried out by BUMDes Taiba Smart is to make BUMDes financial management by contracts and transactions in the Islamic economy. In the microfinance business, cooperation contracts (mudharabah and musyarakah) can be used, buying and selling (murabahah, salam, istishna), services (wakalah, kafalah, hiwalah, wadiah, rahn, qardh). For trading businesses, murabahah, salam and istishna sale and purchase agreements can be used. For the rental business, you can use an ijarah contract. The motivation given showed the increasing desire of participants to apply Islamic financial management to the Taiba Smart BUMDes operations.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman generasi Z terhadap wakaf uang dan memberikan motivasi kepada generasi Z di Kota Pekanbaru untuk berwakaf uang. Metode pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan edukasi dan sosialisasi wakaf uang, dengan materi  pengertian wakaf, sejarah wakaf, jenis harta benda wakaf, penghimpunan (fundrising) wakaf uang, penyaluran atau peruntukan hasil pengelolaan wakaf uang, dan kelembagaan pengelolaan wakaf uang. Diperoleh peningkatan literasi tentang wakaf uang  dikalangan Genersi Z di Kota Pekanbaru melalui hasil pre test dan post test. Hasil pre test dengan nilai dibawah 50 ada 2 peserta, namun pada post test nilai dibawah 50 sudah tidak ada. Pada pre test dengan nilai 5 –70 ada 16 peserta, namun pada post test nilai 50–70 terdapat  8 orang. Pada pre test dengan nilai 71–100 terdapat 7 peserta, namun pada post test nilai 71– 100  ada 17 peserta.

Abstract

Orphanage children who incidentally did not have parents or come from the poor make them did not have adequate learning facilities. It ultimately causes the orphans to have low learning outcomes or, in other words, no academic achievement at school. Most of them need more motivation to learn. The purpose of this service is to assist orphanage children, especially junior high school students, to deepen their understanding of math material, which is considered difficult, and to provide encouragement and motivation to study hard. The subjects of this activity were 12 junior high school students at the Pekanbaru Ash-Shohwah Orphanage. The results of this community service activity are: (1) getting a positive response from the management of the orphanage, (2) The children are satisfied with the mathematics learning assistance activities and hope that this activity will continue, (3) The children take part in the training enthusiastically and actively respond when the service team provides material.

Abstract

Panbo Beach is a natural tourist spot located in Batu Bersurat District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. This tourist spot is a new tourist spot whose management is assisted by the Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) Panbo Beach. The main problem faced by Panbo Beach is the small number of visitors. The purpose of implementing this Community service are to create a website to market this tourist spot, then provide training to operate the website. The method used in conducting this community service is, first, needs and design  system analysis, then carry out a workshop in purpose to using the website. The result of the community service were, the availability of a website with the address is http://panbobeach.com and increased knowledge and skills of workshop participants in operating the website.
