Abstract

Abstract The very rapid development of technology in the era of Society 5.0, requires lecturers to package learning that is interesting for students, one of which is with media and learning approaches from abstract material to concrete material. The purpose of this research is to produce e-comic products with a realistic approach. mathematics education in geometry transformation courses that can be used in online tutorials for 4th semester mathematics education study program students at Universitas Terbuka. This research method uses the Dick and Carey development design by including eight steps. Based on the results of student questionnaire responses using e-comic media with a realistic mathematics education approach, namely based on the results of student assessment responses, an average value of 86 percent was obtained, which means that e-comic media is classified as good as a learning medium. Meanwhile, based on the test of the effectiveness of the use of media on students, it is obtained tcount 3.285 more than ttable 2.002 from the two results from the t-test through comparison it can be concluded that is rejected and is accepted, which means that it means that there is a difference in the average learning outcomes between tutor class scores and the class media score. This means that the e-comic media learning outcomes with the RME approach to this transformation geometry material is effectively used for students of mathematics education program at the Universitas Terbuka.     Keywords development research, e-comics, realistic mathematics education. Abstrak: Perkembangan teknologi yang sangat pesat di era Society 5.0, menuntut dosen mengemas pembelajaran yang menarik bagi mahasiswa, salah satunya dengan media dan pendekatan pembelajaran dari materi abstrak ke materi konkret. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan produk e-comic dengan pendekatan yang realistis. pendidikan matematika pada mata kuliah transformasi geometri yang dapat digunakan dalam tutorial online bagi mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika semester 4 di universitas terbuka. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain pengembangan Dick and Carey dengan memasukkan delapan langkah. Berdasarkan hasil respon angket mahasiswa penggunaan media e-comic dengan pendekatan realistic mathematics education yaitu berdasarkan hasil respon penilaian mahasiswa diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 86 persen yang artinya media e-comic tergolong baik sebagai media pembelajaran. Sedangkan berdasarkan uji keefektifan penggunaan media pada siswa diperoleh thitung 3,285 lebih dari ttabel 2,002 dari kedua hasil uji t melalui perbandingan dapat disimpulkan bahwa ditolak dan diterima, dimana artinya ada perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar antara nilai kelas tutor dengan nilai kelas media. Artinya media hasil belajar e-comic dengan pendekatan RME pada materi geometri transformasi ini efektif digunakan untuk mahasiswa program pendidikan matematika di Universitas Terbuka.   Kata kunci penelitian pengembangan, e-comics, pendidikan matematika realistic.DOI http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1769-1778

Abstract

Abstract Students' creative thinking skills need to be developed in the learning process. However, the learning process in schools has not fully implemented learning models that develop students' skills. From the results of observations at SMAN 7 Padang, learning at school still does not make use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and lacks interest in learning in class. To overcome these problems, the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model which is intervened with the use of ICT is applied. The use of ICT used is utilizing cellphone and internet networks in obtaining broader information. This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of the problem-based learning model that is intervened by information technology on students' creative thinking skills. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with a randomized control-group posttest only design. The results of testing the hypothesis, namely tcount more than ttable, indicate that the research hypothesis is accepted.   Keywords problem-based learning, information and communication technology, creative thinking skills, cellphone. Abstrak: Keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik perlu dikembangkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun, proses pembelajaran di sekolah belum sepenuhnya menerapkan model pembelajaran yang mengembangkan keterampilan peserta didik. Dari hasil pengamatan di SMAN 7 Padang, pembelajaran di sekolah masih kurang memanfaatankan Teknologi Informasi (ICT) dan kurang minat belajar dikelas. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, model Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang diintervensi dengan penggunaan ICT diterapkan. Penggunaan ICT yang digunakan yaitu memanfaatkan ponsel dan jaringan internet dalam mendapatkan informasi yang lebih luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh implementasi model problem based learning yang diintervensi teknologi informasi terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan penelitian randomize control-group posttest only design. Abstract

Abstract Considering that mathematics has an important role in learning and in everyday life, the process of learning mathematics that hones the problem solving skills of people who play a role in solving the problem, usually mathematics based on this problem uses questions that contain elements of contextual problems that intersect with students' daily lives. . The aim is to describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities on the material of a two-variable system of linear equations. Class VIII students are the subjects of this research. The indicators according to Polya are (1) Understanding the Problem, (2) Developing a Plan, (3) Implementing a Solution Plan, (4) and Reviewing the Overall Answer. The result of this research is to have an average in the medium category. In the process of completing all Polya indicators, students were able to meet all indicators, but students who had moderate mathematical problem solving abilities were only able to fulfill the indicators of planning and reviewing overall answers, while students with low mathematical problem solving abilities could not fulfill all existing indicators.     Keywords mathematical problem solving ability, system of two variable linear equations. Abstrak Mengingat matematika mempunyai peranan penting dalam pelajaran maupun kehidupan sehari-hari, proses belajar matematika yang mengasah kemampuan pemecahan masalah orang yang ikut berperan dalam penuntasan masalahnya, biasanya matematika yang berlandas masalah itu menggunakan soal berunsur permasalahan-permasalahan kontekstual yang bersinggungan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Tujuannya untuk menggambarkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Siswa kelas VIII menjadi subjek pada penelitian kali ini. Indikator menurut Polya yaitu (1) Memahami Masalah, (2) Menyusun Rencana, (3) Melaksanakan Rencana Penyelesaian, (4) dan Melihat Kembali Jawaban Keseluruhan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mempunyai rata-rata dalam ketegori sedang. Dalam proses penyelesaian semua indikator Polya siswa mampu memenuhi semua indikator, namu pada siswa yang memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sedang hanya mampu menenuhi indikator menyusun rencana dan melihat kembali jawaban keseluruhan, sedangkan siswa yang berkemmapuan pemecahan masalah matematis rendah tidak bisa memenuhi semua indikator yang ada.  Kata kunci kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1839-1849

Abstract

Abstract: Geometry is one of the challenging subjects for students. This study aimed to determine the ability of students to solve geometric transformation problems, the difficulties they experienced, and the causes. This research employed a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design. Eight Year 9 students were the subjects of this study. Data were collected through tests and interviews. The data were analyzed quantitatively, followed by qualitative analysis involving reducing data, presenting data, and concluding. The results indicated that the students ability to solve geometric transformation problems was moderate. Students found it difficult to solve geometric transformation problems. The students difficulties included determining the translation when a starting point and an image point were given and determining the image of a point/curve by a transformation. Students had not fully mastered the schemes in the geometric transformation, were not proficient in using formulas, and were not precise in their calculations.     Keywords students’ difficulty, transformation, translation, rotation, dilatation. Abstrak Geometri adalah salah satu topik yang sulit bagi siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal transformasi geometri dan kesulitan yang dialami oleh siswa serta penyebab terjadinya kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal transformasi geometri. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Mixed Method dengan jenis explanatory sequential. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 8 siswa kelas IX. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu tes dan wawancara. Data dianalisa secara kuantitatif, kemudian kualitatif dengan mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal transformasi geometri tergolong kategori sedang. Hal ini mengindikasikan siswa masih sulit dalam menyelesaikan soal transformasi geometri. Adapun kesulitan siswa yaitu menentukan translasi jika diberikan sebuah titik awal dan titik bayangan, menentukan bayangan suatu titik/kurva oleh suatu transformasi. Penyebabnya yaitu siswa belum sepenuhnya menguasai skema yang ada di dalam transformasi geometri, tidak mahir menggunakan rumus, dan tidak tepat perhitungannya.   Kata kunci kesulitan, geometri, translasi, rotasi, dilatasi.  DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i2.pp1724-1737

Abstract

Abstract Mathematics Capita Selecta For Elementary School is a course that aims to produce students who are able to find solutions to problems that occur in learning mathematics in elementary schools. To achieve this, implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is the right choice, because PjBL is a student-centered learning model. This study aims to find out impact of the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model which is applied to the Mathematics Capita Selecta for Elementary School course. The subjects in this study were 31 students of the Mathematics Education Study Program University of Bengkulu 2021/2022 who took the courses. Data collection method used is open-ended tests and surveys using questionnaire response. Research results show that students’ learning outcome is at the value of 75 obtained from the t test using SPSS software, where obtained P-Value more than 0.05. Besides that, results research also shows that response student to learning is very good with percentage of 64.52 percent and good with percentage of 35.48 percent.     Keywords project based learning, mathematics capita selecta , elementary school Abstrak Matakuliah Mathematics Capita Selecta Matematika Jenjang Pendidikan Dasar merupakan matakuliah yang bertujuan menghasilkan mahasiswa yang mampu menemukan solusi terhadap permasalahan yang terjadi pada pembelajaran matematika di Sekolah Dasar. Untuk mewujudkan hal ini,  penerapan Model Project Based Learning (PjBL) menjadi salah satu pilihan yang tepat, karena PjBL merupakan model pembelajaran yang terpusat pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh implementasi Model Project Based Learning (PjBl) pada matakuliah Mathematics Capita Selecta MatematikaJenjang Pendidikan Dasar (JPD). Subjek sasaran dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi S1 Pendidikan Matematika FKIP UNIB TA 2021/2022 yang mengambil matakuliah Mathematics Capita Selecta Matematika Jenjang SD yang berjumlah 31 orang. Metode pengambilan data yang digunakan ialah tes menggunakan lembar tes open-ended dan survey menggunakan angket respon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar mahasiswa berada diatas nilai 75 yang diperoleh dari uji t menggunakan software SPSS, dimana didapatkan P-Value lebih dari 0,05. Selain itu, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa respon mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran sangat baik dengan persentase 64,52 persen dan baik dengan persentase 35,48 persen.  Kata kunci project based learning, Mathematics Capita Selecta matematika, sekolah dasar. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1738-1750

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of discovery learning on cell material on students' concept comprehension of class XI. In this study, the quantitative research method used quasi-experiments and a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used in the research consisted of learning materials (lesson plan, students’ worksheet and textbooks) and data collection instruments in the form of reasoned multiple choice written tests of 20 pretest-posttest questions. The research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Batu Bara. The population in this study were all 3 classes of XI IPA, and the sample used was 2 classes totaling 60 students taken using cluster random sampling technique. Class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class using the discovery learning model, while class XI IPA 2 as a control class using conventional learning methods. Data analysis techniques in this study were analyzed using ANCOVA. The results showed that there was an influence of the discovery learning model on cell material on students' concept comprehension.     Keywords: conceptual understanding, discovery learning model, biology lesson. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran discovery learning pada materi sel terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa kelas XI. Dalam penelitian ini, metode penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan quasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian non-equivalen pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan penelitian terdiri atas perangkat pembelajaran (rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar kerja peserta didik dan buku teks) dan instrument pengumpulan data berupa tes tertulis pilihan ganda beralasan sebanyak 20 soal pretest-posttest. Penelitian dilakukan di Madrasah Aliyah Batu Bara. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas XI IPA sebanyak 3 kelas, dan sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 2 kelas berjumlah 60 siswa diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eskperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning, sedangkan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan ANCOVA. Abstract

Abstract Translation is considered as a step in transforming the information contained from the source representation to the destination representation. In the process of students doing mathematical translation there are four stages of activity, Unpacking the Source, Preliminary Coordination, Constructing the Target, and Determining Equivalence. This study aims to analyze the activities carried out by students in translating representations from graphic to symbolic, table to symbolic, and verbal to symbolic based on HOTS. This research was conducted at SMA Lamongan Regency with three research students in class XI who had learned about the concept of quadratic functions. The instruments used were translation questions and interview guidelines. The applied data analysis focused on four stages of translation activity which were then grouped according to (high, medium, and low categories). The results showed that the translation of verbal representations into symbolic ones was the most difficult for students to complete. Keywords mathematical translation, representation, HOTS. Abstrak Translasi dinilai sebagai langkah dalam mentransformasikan informasi yang termuat dari representasi sumber ke representasi tujuan. Kemampuan siswa dalam mentranslasi representasi sangat penting dalam pembelajaran. Proses siswa dalam melakukan translasi matematis terdapat empat tahapan aktivitas, Unpacking the Source (membongkar suatu masalah), Preliminary Coordination (menghubungkan suatu masalah), Constructing the Target (melakukan kontruksi target), dan Determining Equivalence (pengecekan kembali). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses aktivitas yang dilakukan siswa dalam melakukan translasi representasi dari grafik ke simbolik, tabel ke simbolik, dan verbal ke simbolik berbasis HOTS. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Kabupaten Lamongan dengan tiga siswa penelitian kelas XI yang telah belajar mengenai konsep fungsi kuadrat. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah uji soal translasi dan pedoman wawancara. Analisis data yang diterapkan, difokuskan pada empat tahapan aktivitas translasi yang kemudian dikelompokkan sesuai dengan (kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah). Abstract

Abstract This research is a qualitative research. The purpose of this study is to describe students' mathematical connection abilities in terms of self-efficacy. Data collection techniques in qualitative research include (1) questionnaires, (2) interviews, and (3) documentation of students' work as supporting data for analysis. Data analysis in qualitative research includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. From this study it can be concluded that students with high self-efficacy are able to relate the 3 indicators of mathematical connection ability well, which means students with high self-efficacy will also have high mathematical connection ability. Students with moderate self-efficacy are only able to connect 2 indicators of mathematical connection ability well because students tend not to because these students lack understanding of the concepts being taught and students with low self-efficacy are only able to relate 1 indicator of mathematical connection ability well because students are less able connecting mathematical concepts. Likewise, student self-efficacy is still in the low category, this is because students still seem hesitant in working on a problem.     Keywords mathematical connection ability, self-efficacy, junior high school students. Abstrak Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeksripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa ditinjau dari self-efficacy. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian kualitatif meliputi (1) angket, (2) wawancara, dan (3) dokumentasi hasil karya siswa sebagai data pendukung analisis. Analisis data dalam penelitian kualitatif meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa dengan self-efficacy tinggi mampu menghubungkan 3 indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis dengan baik yang artinya siswa dengan self-efficacy tinggi maka kemampuan koneksi matematisnya akan tinggi pula. Siswa dengan self-efficacy sedang hanya mampu menghubungkan 2 indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis dengan baik karena siswa cenderung tidak karena siswa tersebut kurang dalam memahami konsep yang diajarkan dan siswa dengan self-efficacy rendah hanya mampu menghubungkan 1 indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis dengan baik karena siswa kurang mampu menghubungkan konsep-konsep matematis. Begitu pun dengan self-efficacy siswa masih ada dalam kategori rendah, hal ini dikarenakan siswa masih terkesan ragu-ragu dalam mengerjakan suatu soal.  Kata kunci: kemampuan koneksi matematis, efikasi diri, siswa SMP.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1862-1875

Abstract

Abstract Creative thinking skills have an important role to face the challenges of the 21st century. This study aims to improve the creative thinking skills of junior high school students through a project-based learning model for processing cassava peel waste. This research method is quasi-experimental, non-equivalent pre-test-post-test control group design. The sample in this study was class VII students of SMPN 1 Purbolinggo, who were determined using a purposive sampling technique. The number of students in the control and the experimental classes was 32 people each. The instruments in this research are the Creative Thinking Skills Test and Performance Assessment. The results showed that the average N-gain for creative thinking skills in the experimental class was in the medium category (0.58), while on the control class, it was in the low category (0.29). Cohen's d coefficients for each indicator of creative thinking skills fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration; were 0.62, 0.58, 0.72, and 0.72, respectively, all in the medium category. However, Cohen's d coefficient effect size for the average N-gain overall creative thinking skills is 2.40, belonging to the very large category. Based on these results, it can conclude that the project-based learning model is effective with a very large effect on improving students' creative thinking skills.     Keywords creative thinking skills, project-based learning models, cassava peel waste. Abstrak Keterampilan berpikir kreatif adalah penting untuk menghadapi tantangan Abad 21.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP melalui model pembelajaran berbasis proyek pengolahan limbah kulit singkong. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain the matching only pretest-posttest control group. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas VII SMPN 1 Purbolinggo. Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik puposive sampling. Jumlah siswa pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen masing-masing sebanyak 32 orang. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah Tes Keterampilan Berpikir Kreatif dan Instrumen Asesmen Kinerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata N-gain keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada kelas eksperimen berada pada kategori sedang (0,58), sedangkan pada kelas kontrol berada pada kategori rendah (0,29). Koefisien d Cohen untuk masing-masing indikator keterampilan berpikir kreatif kelancaran, keluwesan, orisinalitas, dan elaborasi; berturut-turut adalah 0,62, 0,58, 0,72, dan 0,72 yang semuanya termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Namun, ukuran efek koefisien d Cohen untuk rata-rata N-gain keterampilan berpikir kreatif secara keseluruhan adalah 2,40, termasuk dalam kategori sangat besar. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis proyek efektif dengan pengaruh yang sangat besar terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa. Hal ini menggambarkan bahwa pengaruh yang sangat besar dari penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek pengolahan limbah kulit singkong adalah pada sinergi keseluruhan indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif, bukan pada bagian-bagian yang terpisah-pisah.  Kata kunci keterampilan berpikir kreatif, pembelajaran berbasis proyek, limbah kulit singkong.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1850-1861

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to develop the MoIP-ST (Momentum and Impulse Problem-Solving Test) instrument to measure students' problem-solving abilities according to the stages of problem-solving skills. The research method used is 4). The research participants were 64 students, consisting of 32 rural and 32 urban 10th-grade students in East Java, who were randomly selected. The first analysis is a multi-rater Rasch measurement based on the results of expert validation, which indicates that item I1 needs improvement. The second analysis is the analysis of the MoIP-ST instrument using the Rasch model, which shows that overall the items on the MoIP-ST are valid and reliable with a Cronbach Alpha of 0.87. The third analysis is the use of the MoIP-ST, which shows that the problem-solving ability of rural students is lower than that of urban students. Student problem-solving needs to be improved through models, methods, learning models, and teaching materials that support problem-solving.    Keywords test instrument, problem solving skills, physics learning.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen MoIP-ST  (Momentum and Impulse Problem-Solving Test) untuk mengukur kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa sesuai dengan tahapan kemampuan memecahkan masalah. Metode yang digunakan penelitian adalah 4). Partisipan penelitian adalah 64 siswa yang terdiri dari 32 siswa pedesaan dan 32 siswa perkotaan kelas 10 di Jawa Timur yang dipilih secara acak. Analisis pertama adalah pengukuran Rasch multi-rater dari hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa item I1 perlu perbaikan. Analisis kedua adalah analisis instrumen MoIP-ST  menggunakan Rasch Model menunjukkan secara keseluruhan item pada MoIP-ST  valid dan reliabel dengan Cronbach Alpha sebesar 0,87. Analisis ketiga adalah penggunaan MoIP-ST  menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pedesaan lebih rendah dibandingkan siswa perkotaan.
