Abstract

                Motif Batik Mega Mendung comes from the word mega or cloud style has a meaning like a roof that symbolizes the sky as a highly appreciated natural phenomenon in the Trusmi Cirebon area. The result is a traditional batik Trusmi Masina that has a style, motif and character Cirebonan. Cloud shape is a special form found in batik Mega Mendung. In this paper, author apply the visual elements, especially the shape and color of batik motif Mega Mendung on fashion products that are used during the rainy season which is a raincoat, with the application of coloring glow in the dark. Methodology used in this research is experimental quantitative methodology. The experimental method was performed on glow in the dark while the quantitative data was taken by spreading the questionnaire on raincoat users, so it can come up with a design of rain jacket with Mega Mendung motif application which put forward visual element as mentioned by Marvin Bartel.

Abstract

This study on the interactional experience of people who have visual impairments or disabilities in using Go-jek and Grab Android applications employs usability testing using mixed approach. It is an explanatory sequential design research; quantitative data were measured in time, number of errors, Single Ease Question (SEQ) questionnaire score and System Usability Scale (SUS) score. They were used to evaluate the usability level of the application, and finger mapping data and participant comments were used to find more specific problems in the design or look for user patterns. Usability evaluation was carried out on 6 sub-applications from Go-jek and Grab companies. Good grouping of visual elements and the completion of a small task makes usability perceptions increase. Yet, the design problems that make usability perception decrease are touch targets that are too small in size, bad visual element grouping, too many items in one page, and unfamiliar operational gestures. This research has also found that high usability score is not always determined by visual elements. Navigation behavior has an important role in making good usability perception in users with visual impairment. A problematic visual design could be considered a problem in one navigation method, but not in another.

Abstract

Hak Desain Tata Letak Sirkuit Terpadu diberikan kepada pendesain yang  melakukan pendaftaran, sehingga  apabila pemilik desain tidak melakukan pendaftaran, maka berarti tidak mendapat perlindungan hukum.  Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan   sistem pendaftaran yang dianut dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 32 Tahun 2000 tentang Desain Tata Letak Sirkut Terpadu. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori  tentang Kekayaan Intelektual, sedangkan metode yang digunakan adalah yuridis normatif  yaitu mengkaji  bahan pustaka atau data sekunder sebagai bahan dasar untuk diteliti dengan cara mengadakan penelusuran terhadap peraturan-peraturan dan literatur-literatur yang berkaitan dengan permasalahan yang diteliti. Hasil temuan menunjukan bahwa permohonan pendaftaran Desain Tata Letak Sirkuit Terpadu tidak dilakukan dilakukan pemeriksaan substantif hanya administratif  saja.  Selanjutnya, belum ada  pendaftaran untuk mendapatkan  Hak Desain Tata Letak Sirkuit Terpadu  karena kualitas sumber daya manusia atau kurangnya kesadaran hukum pendesain, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ketentuan tentang Desain Tata Letak Sirkuit Terpadu secara  yuridis sosiologis belum merealisasikan pengembangan industri teknologi elektronika di Indonesia.

Abstract

Home industry food packaging displayed on shelves in stores will compete with products from other brands that are placed close together. In order to attract consumers’ attention and assist them in the purchasing decision-making process, packaging that has a competitive advantage is needed. This research is limited to the Primary Display Panel (PDP) packaging of home industry banana chips. In previous studies, the research used was quantitative, but this does not reveal the whole story. The data recording process can support “what” the participant looks at but does not reveal “why” they look at it. For this reason, this research is aimed to establish a broader understanding of what participants perceive of the packaging design seen using eye tracking methods and why it happened. This study uses qualitative approach. The study consists of three phases: literature study, eye tracking data recording, and data processing and interviews analyzed using content analysis. The result is colors and images are perceived to be the same by teenagers and young adults. There is no connection between likes and dislikes for colors/images with colors preference in choosing snack products. The results can be used by producers and packaging designers to create packages that generate consumer purchase interest.

Abstract

This paper describes the burial practice in the Gravettian (early Upper Paleolithic) and the Epi-Gravettian periods (late Upper Paleolithic) in Italy, and the Gravettian period (early Upper Paleolithic) in Czech and Russia. In Italy, the Gravettian and the Epi-Gravettian burial sites were mostly situated in caves because geologically Italy has extensive karstic systems throughout Alpine mountains. Meanwhile, the Gravettian single and multiple burial sites in Czech and Russia were found in an alluvial plain. The single burials are more numerous in the Epi-Gravettian than the Gravettian periods in Italy. Furthermore, Italy has the largest number of the Gravettian single and multiple burials compared to Czech and Russia. If the compass direction and the corpse placement (prosthesis) in the ground and the position of the head are considered, it apparently links to their origin. The ancestors of the Gravettian peoples in Italy, Czech, and Russia are supposed to have originated from the East or Southeast. The disparity of cultural behavior between the Gravettian and the Epi-Gravettian periods in Italy can be deduced by the number of single burial and the environmental condition where the Gravettian period developed during the last glacial maximum (LGM), while the Epi-Gravettian happened in warmer condition.

Abstract

The degradation of mangrove ecosystems in Bengkalis Regency is caused either one by mangrove ecosystems management that are still not optimal. The research of institutional analysis of mangrove ecosystem management in Kelapa Pati Village was conducted in November 2019 in the mangrove ecosystem of Kelapa Pati Village, Bengkalis District, Bengkalis Regency. The assessing of institutional  role about mangrove ecosystems management in Kelapa Pati Village was carried out based on in-depth interviews with informants in the form of selected stakeholders. Institutional analysis of mangrove ecosystems shows that the mangrove ecosystem institutions in Kelapa Pati Village are grouped into: Key players (Managers, Village Heads, Regents, Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Provinsi, Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten), context setters (DPRD), crowds (Dinas PU , BAPPEDA, Dinas Perikanan, NGO, and University); and subjects (community and community leaders).

Abstract

The present study is aimed at investigating the perception of elementary school pre-service teachers regarding the genre based digital story telling projects in their General English (GE) class. The benefits and challenges of digital storytelling projects have been studied by many researchers. However, perception of elementary school pre-service teachers of the issue is still rarely investigated. The data were collected from open and closed questionnaire to 47 elementary school pre-service teachers of a public university in West Java, Indonesia. In the second semester, they had a GE class (kelas Mata Kuliah Umum/MKU Bahasa Inggris). They were given two genre-based digital storytelling projects i.e., the digital descriptive and narrative text projects. The findings are further explained in relation to the 4Cs skill in 21st century education. It is found that genre-based digital storytelling projects improve the elementary school pre-service teachers’ communication, collaboration, creative thinking, and creativity skill. The pre-service teachers generally perceived the learning as meaningful, engaging, and enjoyable, supporting digital storytelling as a powerful media in the 21st century education.

Abstract

Sains dapat membantu mengungkapkan kebenaran dalam proses mewujudkan keadilan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan interaksi hukum dan sains dalam pencarian kebenaran di pengadilan dalam perkara perdata. Proses mengungkap kebenaran mestinya dilakukan dengan cara yang adil. Secara teoritis proses peradilan memiliki kemiripan dengan proses ilmiah. Sains dapat membantu proses peradilan dengan menyediakan bukti fakta atau pendapat yang dapat memberikan gambaran pada pengadilan mengenai suatu hal berlandaskan pada metode ilmiah yang memiliki nilai pembuktian. Dalam peradilan perkara perdata, kebenaran ilmiah yang dihasilkan oleh proses menurut sains dapat menjadi dasar bagi pembentukan kebenaran menurut hukum. Interaksi hukum dan sains di pengadilan Indonesia dalam kenyataan perlu dikaji lebih lanjut secara lebih komprehensif.

Abstract

Social Distancing has been imposed almost in all countries affected by Covid-19 including Indonesia, causing almost all companies to urge their employees to work from home (WFH). Teleworking in pandemic conditions is not a person’s choice, but a compulsion. This research is aimed at finding the relationship between personal traits and job satisfaction towards WFH. This study employed the big five personality and demography variables such as sex, age, ranks, and duration of work as control variables. This research uses a quantitative method, through a survey of 129 administration staff (Tendik) at the Institut Teknologi Bandung (Bandung Institute of Technology). The results of this study have demonstrated that there is a positive influence from the personal traits toward job satisfaction in WFH. Another finding is there is a negative influence from the rank of workers toward their job satisfaction in WFH setting, while other demography variables such as sex, age, and work duration have not significantly predicted job satisfaction towards WFH. Technological and cultural aspects of workspace communication are further discussed as a contributing factor that is not directly measured in this research.

Abstract

Gula kelapa kristal merupakan salah satu produk yang sudah dikembangkan di Kabupaten Banyumas. Dengan segala keunggulan yang dimiliki, gula kelapa kristal  berpotensi untuk dikembangkan oleh Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) menjadi berbagai produk olahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi  produk berbasis gula kelapa kristal dan mendapatkan urutan prioritas alternatif produk berbasis gula kelapa kristal untuk dikembangkan pada skala UMKM di Kabupaten Banyumas. Penelitian terdiri atas identifikasi produk berbasis gula kelapa kristal yang dilakukan dengan metode studi pustaka, dan penentuan produk prioritas dengan kuesioner, wawancara pakar, dan metode Bayes. Penelitian menunjukkan produk berbasis gula kelapa kristal yang dapat dikembangkan untuk UMKM meliputi sirup asam jawa, abon ikan, jahe merah instan, temulawak instan, cincau hijau instan, bumbu gado-gado, dan enting-enting kacang. Sirup Asam Jawa merupakan produk pada ranking pertama prioritas untuk dikembangkan di Kabupaten Banyumas.
