Abstract

Road capacity guidelines of the developed countries can not be applied with success in Indonesia. Because, that guidelines are generally developed based on homogeneous traffic mainly consists of four-wheeled vehicles, so the presence of motorcycles can be ignored. In addition, traffic behavior patterns in Indonesia is different from that of  the developed world. For Indonesian case, guidelines which ignores the existence of motorcycle is clearly unappropriate, because the road traffic is dominated by motorcycles. The purpose of the study was to better understand the actual Indonesian traffic characteristics and driver behavior by taking into account heterogeneous traffic conditions. To achieve the objectives, models were developed for speed, capacity and delay at unsignalized T-intersections using streams of conflicting traffic as predictor. Analysis was done using regression techniques. The study produced speed models, aproach capacity models, and delay models for  unsignalized T-intersection as a function of traffic flow. The models can be used as tools for performance analysis of unsignalized T-intersection.

Abstract

Growth and development of the desert city that lasted until the current development of new settlements in the bypass due to reduced carrying capacity of the neighborhoods in the city center, which causes changes in land use are likely to spread. Construction of medium and large scale housing in bypass increases with the rate of population growth. Kelurahan river weaning, District Kuranji become one of the new housing growth point. One of the new housing that is located in the Village of the river weaning Housing jabal rahmah .Perumahan sustainable and have been selected to be a study area because it has a great potential trip generation. It can be seen from the number of houses which amounted to more than a thousand units of the houses are built which is a simple RSS or home healthy. That the higher seizure bypass region has the potential to cause problems such as traffic delays. There needs to be research on the residential trip generation in the bypass. The purpose of this study is to trip generation induced land use jabal rahmah sustainable housing. Movement or movement in one direction of travel is from the origin zone to the destination zone, including the movement of the foot (Tamin, 2000). In this study, the movement in question is a movement with the goal zone is outside the housing complex with purpose regardless of movement or travel. Average movement per day is calculated from the movement of households conducted by the movement of the weekly aggregated daily basis The method used in the study is a quantitative method with a quantitative analysis approach.

Abstract

Searching product informationand buying goods online causes significant changes in travel behavior and shopping trips. Online shopping is expected to reduce shopping trips. The aim of this study is to explore the factors that affect online shopping and its effect on the frequency of shopping trips. This study used structural equation modeling (SEM) for multiplying the relationship between online shopping and shopping trip and the factors influencing it. Data were distributed by online questionnaire and obtained 300 data and 19 data were not used because they never done online shopping. The variables used were 5 variable latent exogenous, 3 variables latent endogenous and 15 variables observed. The result showed that the frequency of searching product information has a positive effect on the frequency of shopping trips and the frequency of online shopping and online shopping has negative effect on shopping trips. These results indicated that, online shopping was additional and substitution of shopping trips. To optimize the benefits of online shopping that reduce the frequency of shopping trips did 4 scenarios. Scenarios were the most effective in reducing the frequency of shopping trips is improving the quality of internet network at home that affected a reduction of 53%from the present level.

Abstract

PT. KAI as the train operator in Indonesia need to provide good service quality that will result in customer satisfaction. To evaluate service quality need to be known customer expectation and customer perception toward services offered. From Importance-Performance Analysis, shown that punctuality, easiness to mode change and waiting room are attributes that belong to performance shortfall, that means those attributes need to get priority in improvement. Then regression analysis was conducted to know how quality attibutes influence the satisfaction. The result show that, there are two component factor that are main services and additional services. All of three attrtibutes that obtained from IPA analysis belong to main services that has significant influences to customer satisfaction. Related with value creation dimension, PT. KAI need to improve services quality in customer experience. Customer who has good experiences toward service offered can increase level of satisfaction and create positive emotional bonds.

Abstract

Motorcycle choice might be influenced by travel characteristics. The purpose of this study is to analyze relationship between motorcycle characteristics and travel characteristics of motorcyclist. The data used in this study are primary data gathered from questionnaire distribution to motorcyclist in the City of Bandung. The results show that motorcycle characteristics distribution by the type and purchase status of motorcycle is different. Type of motorcycle has a weak relationship with travel characteristics. The capacity of the bike also has weak relationship with trip distance and trip frequency per day. Differently with motorcycle purchase status, it isn’t having a significant relationship with travel characteristics, except trip distance.

Abstract

In planning road construction, a pavement design is connected with the soil CBR value. Soil is the road foundation that needed to be considered. Problems which were usually caused by soil were properties or the content of such poor soil of high plasticity, high dry bulk density, small shear-strength soil, big thriving and shrinking, and also a low CBR value. Therefore, the relevancy of doing the research was to improve the strength of expansive clay soils, one of which was the chemical stabilization or adding certain chemicals, causing a chemical reaction. To overcome the existing problems in the expansive clay soils research conducted using Residium Catalytic Cracking and Stone Factory Waste as stabilization material. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of substituting Residium Catalytic Cracking with factory waste rock to the value of CBR (California Bearing Ratio) on expansive clay.  Expansive clay soil samples was taken from the area of Tanjung Api-api Km.27 Palembang, whereas samples of Catalytic Cracking Residium was taken from PT. Pertamina RU III, Palembang and Stone Factory Waste was taken from Lengot, sub-district of Jayapura, East Oku Regency (OKUT). Variation of mix were Catalytic Cracking Residium 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and stone factory waste 0%, 20%, 25%, 30% with treatment period 0, 7 and 14 days. The results showed that the stabilizing agent of Residium Catalytic Cracking could increase the value of CBR expansive clay soil while the addition of the Stone Factory Waste lower the value of CBR expansive clay. From the optimization results of CBR value, the best composite were 6% Catalytic Cracking Plant and 0% Stone Factory Waste with 4.1% CBR value and the percentage transformation in the CBR value 124.044%.

Abstract

A highly urbanization and private vehicle ownership has led to the development of cities becomes unmanageable as well as tends to be urban sprawl. Moreover, congestion, pollution and fossil fuels consumption are increased, along with the decreasing of the feasibility habitation as well. Therefore, we need to manage its growth by applying the right policies. One of them is green belt, which is rounding the existing city by green area. Furthemore, the developments of new settlement are directed outside the green belt and become satellite cities to the major cities.  The increasing of urbanization, make the demand in transportation will be increased as well; the requirements of accessibility and mobility have to be supported to keep them running well. Comparative analysis method is used in this research by determining policy transportation as a result of comparing transport policies from among these countries: China, Dutch, England, Malaysia and Indonesia. Transportation policies that are propossed including: restrictions on the amount of ownership of a vehicle, the construction of facilities ‘park and ride’ outside the green belt  and public transport facilities  towards the city center using railway or bus station in an integrated area services concept. Thus, it will allow the enhancement of accessibility and mobility of citizens.
