<![CDATA[Student in Indonesia has many regional accents. It influences them when they are pronouncing English words. Most of them thought that pronunciation is quite-hard. However, with the use of application media could help students in the learning process. One of the applications that can be used as a medium to improve the student pronunciation is JOOX. In this paper, the researcher will investigate student’s perception towards the use of JOOX Application to improve their pronunciation. Furthermore, the researcher uses descriptive qualitative as a method of the study. The participants of the study are 20 students of English Education batch 17 at Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. Data were collected through questionnaire and interview. After collecting the data, the researcher analyzes the data by tabulating data. The result revealed that most of the students (74%) are agreed that JOOX application help them to get better pronunciation with the help of lyrics features in JOOX application.]]>

<![CDATA[Dictionary has become one important tool for learning a foreign language. Many kinds of dictionaries can be used for students who want to learn a foreign language. An online dictionary is one of the technologies that can be used for learning a foreign language. Nowadays in the digital era, students can use it through internet networking. Thus, this study discusses the influence of the online Cambridge dictionary on students' pronunciation and vocabulary of students at Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia (UTI). Subjects of the research were 25 students who take Academic Writing subject majoring in English Education study program. Data were then analyzed by using descriptive analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews, the student was given a questionnaire and interview related to an alternative reference in technology for learning vocabulary and pronunciation especially online Cambridge dictionary. As a result of this study, the online Cambridge dictionary influences student pronunciation and vocabulary in terms of pronunciation mastery and vocabulary enrichment. It is suggested that the online Cambridge dictionary can be an alternative solution to solve the problem of pronunciation and vocabulary mastery.]]>

<![CDATA[Vocabulary plays an important role in learning English. Learning vocabulary in English is not easy, especially for students in vocational high school. In addition, they have special characteristics that are very different from adults. With emphasis on these different characteristics, it can be concluded that teachers who teach vocational learners have a challenging task to be able to motivate them in the learning process. In this case, teachers must be more creative and keep their students away from boredom while learning English vocabulary. They must prepare material to be given to students and also choose appropriate techniques to use. By doing these things, they can make students have a great interest in the learning process. They must be able to choose and use teaching techniques that can make the learning process more fun, interesting, and exciting for students. One such technique is to use games in the classroom. Using games can provide many benefits for teachers and students.This research aimed at identifying students’ improvement on their vocabulary mastery after learning English using game. The participant of this study is students of junior high school in Lampung province. Data gathered through questionnaire. The data then analyzed by using Creswell method. The result shows that using games in learning English vocabulary is very effective, because using games is very fun and matches the characteristics of children as learners.]]>

<![CDATA[Covid-19 pandemic becomes global issue that gives global impact in all sectors especially in educational one. The Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia make a policy in which all education sectors are shifted from face-to-face learning into online learning. This policy is well-responded by one of private universities in Lampung. The researcher conducted a research to response this policy. The objective of this study is identify the impact of online learning toward students’ academic performance on Business Correspondence course. Participants of this study are 40 students (14 male and 26 female) who enrolled Business Correspondence course at English Education study program of Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. The design of this research is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through questionnaire that consists of 22 statements and open-ended interview. The result showed that online learning has positive impact on students’ academic performance in term of learning motivation, learning achievement and learning engagement. Participants also showed that conducting online learning is relevant during pandemic. Furthermore, flexibility, accessibility, learning autonomy, and boosting students’ achievement become the strengths of conducting online learning. However, financial issue and bad internet access become problems that hamper online learning.]]>

<![CDATA[Learning English as a foreign language, especially in a formal context, leads the students to have their own strategy in order to achieve the objective of learning. The strategy is considered as a helpful way to learn English better. After all, every student has their own strategy in learning. Thus, this study presents an exploration of English language learning strategies used by management and engineering students of Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia (UTI). Subjects of the research were 70 students who take English for Business (EFB) subject majoring management and engineering study program. Data were collected through questionnaire and interview. Data were then analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The result of this study gained a platform of learning strategies used by students. As a result, Management and Engineering students showed almost the same strategy in learning English in a class.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this study is to uncover the students’ attitude toward vlogging activities in improving students’ speaking ability. Participants of this study are 40 students majoring English Education who enrolled in transactional conversation subject at Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. Research design used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data were gained through questionnaire exposing students’ attitude toward the subject and students’ attitude toward using vlog to support learning process. There were 11 indicators with 32 questionnaire items. The results of this study reveal that Vlog helps students to understand the materials, improve students’ learning achievement, motivation, creativity, and engagement, provide interesting learning activities, efficient learning, effective learning, and lead students to be confident, independent and critical.]]>

<![CDATA[Pentingnya penguasaan Bahasa Inggris bagi setiap peserta didik merupakan hal yang perlu diperhatikan, baik oleh para tenaga pendidik maupun peserta didik itu sendiri. Hal ini mengingat kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang terus berkembang menuntut para individu untuk dapat menguasai keterampilan Bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan pembelajaran dasar Bahasa Inggris kepada siswa-siswi SMA/MA/SMK di desa Purworejo, Kecamatan Kotagajah, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah guna meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris mereka. Adapun tahapan kegiatan ini adalah: 1) pemberian materi Bahasa Inggris mengenai self-introduction dan daily activities, 2) pendampingan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris, seperti sesi konsultasi atau tanya jawab saat diperlukan, dan 3) evaluasi kegiatan dengan meminta respon dan saran terhadap kebermanfaatan kegiatan PKM yang telah dilakukan. Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya kemampuan Bahasa Inggris siswa-siswi SMA/MA/SMK desa Purworejo, Kecamatan Kotagajah, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah yang ditujukan oleh hasil wawancara para peserta didik setelah mendapatkan kegiatan pelatihan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris.]]>

<![CDATA[Pemberdayaan dan kesejahteraan keluarga (PKK) adalah gerakan nasional pembangunan masyarakat yang tumbuh dari bawah ke atas, menyelenggarakan pemerintahan di lingkungan masyarakat sekitar untuk kesejahteraan bersama. Penyelenggaraan PKK merupakan salah satu tugas pemerintah desa atau kelurahan. Setiap desa atau kelurahan memiliki kelompok PKK yang mendukung pemerintah desa atau kelurahan dalam pengelolaan kependudukan dan pembangunan wilayah. Salah satunya desa/kampung purworejo kecamatan kota gajah kabupaten lampung tengah. Kampung purworejo adalah desa yang memiliki peranan penting dalam memberdayakan wanita untuk berpartisipasi dalam pembangunan desa dengan organisasi PKK yang dicanangkan pemerintah. Organisasi PKK memiliki sebuah struktur organisasi. PKK juga mempunyai sebuah kelompok kerja (POKJA) dan setiap POKJA memegang peranan kegiatan yang berbeda. Selama kegiatan PKK saat ini rekap hasil kegiatan dilakukan secara manual di buku sekretaris. Dengan berkembangnya sistem informasi, proses pencatatan dan pendokumentasian kegiatan PKK harus terekap secara rapi dan terorganisir. Untuk memberikan solusi maka perlunya dikembangkan Sistem Informasi berbasis website. Hasil dari Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah sistem informasi PKK berbasis website yang mencakup keseluruhan kegiatan PKK, termasuk diantaranya pendataan anggota, penyajian informasi dan dokumentasi kegiatan setiap POKJA yang akan membantu para petugas dalam menjalankan tugasnya dengan baik.]]>

<![CDATA[The use of technology has increased rapidly in our daily activities since first industrial revolution and its features also becomes more and more enchanting from time to time. Thus, people are used to work with it to lighten their jobs, including education, such as delivering/learning material through multimedia, online teaching and learning, etc. It is line with the result of preliminary study that 56% students of English Literature at Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia (UTI) said their lecturers used more technology in class. Thus, the researchers used classroom action research in order to know whether the use of technology does not only help the lecturer in delivering material in a class but also improve students’ international culture understanding in English class. To collect the data, the researchers used observations, tests, and questionnaires. The subjects of this research were second semester students of English Literature at UTI. The finding showed that students’ international culture understanding improved after each cycle. Improvement was also seen based on the result of observations that students showed positive behaviour during the teaching and learning activity.]]>

<![CDATA[This study is aimed at describing the implementation of flipped classroom learning model and analyzing the impact of this learning model on students’ satisfaction on Grammar class. This study was conducted at Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. The participants of this study were 48 students of English Education study program who enroll Intermediate Class. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative. Data were obtained from observation, questionnaire and interview. Observation technique was used to gain information on how flipped classroom learning model implemented. Questionnaire consists of 13 statements an participants may respond on the level of strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree and strongly disagree to gain information about impact of flipped classroom learning model toward students’ satisfaction. Interview was administered to strengthen the data of questionnaire. The results of this study were flipped classroom learning model has been well-implemented in teaching grammar. This learning mode broke the physical limitation between students and lecturers. Another result of this study was the students satisfy with the learning process carried out using flipped classroom. It was found that flipped classroom was easy to implement, promote self-directed learning and improve grammar knowledge. It can be suggested that flipped classroom learning model is an alternative mode incorporating education with technology advancement.]]>
