(Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal 2019, Palembang  4-5 September 2019. pp. 201-210.  Palembang: Unsri Press. Setaria grass is one of the superior types of grass for Ruminants which has not been widely cultivated due to limited planting land. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth and first  production of Setaria grass planted on ultisol soil with the addition of Goat Manure Fertilizer (GMF). The study design used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment is S0 = Ultisol Land, S1 = S0 + GMF 100 g/Polybag, S2 = S0 + GMF 150 g/Polybag, S3 = S0 + GMF 200 g/Polybag, S4 = S0 + GMF 250 g/Polybag, and S5 = S0 + GMF 300 g/Polybag. The variables observed were Plant Height, Number of Tiller, Fresh Weight, and Dry Weight. The data obtained were analyzed for variance (ANOVA) and further tests were carried out using the DMRT Advanced Test. The results showed that the treatment of GMF addition on Ultisol soil had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on Setaria grass height, Number of tillers, Fresh weight production, and Production of dry weight. Advanced Test Results DMRT shows the highest Setaria grass shown by S5 treatment (85.58 cm), the highest number of tillers indicated by treatment S5 (20.42 tillers), the heaviest fresh weight of Setaria grass shown by S5 (225.33 g), and weight the heaviest dryness is also indicated by S5 (46.50 g). The conclusion of this study is that the growth and production of Setaria grass planted on Ultisol soil significantly increased with the increasing dose of goat manure fertilizer.Keywords: growth, production, goat manure fertilizer, setaria grass, ultisol land

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the performance of Peking ducks which were added with galangal flour in their rations. The research method was an experimental method using a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and 4 replications where each replication consisted of 4 ducks. The study was conducted for 56 days. The research materials were 96 Day Old Ducks, rations (milled corn, bran, tofu dregs, and kale waste), drinking water, sugar water and calx. The equipment used were a stage cage, a litter, a place for feeding and drinking, a scale, stationery and other equipment. The treatments consisted of P0 = basal ration, P1 = P0 + 0.1% galangal flour, P2 = P0 + 0.2% galangal flour, P3 = P0 + 0.3% galangal flour, P4 = P0 + 0.4% galangal flour, and P5 = P0 + 0.5% galangal flour. The variables observed were feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, and mortality. Data were analysed using analysis of variance. The results showed that the addition of galangal flour in the ration had a significant effect (P <0.05) on ration consumption and body weight gain and had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on ration conversion and mortality. The conclusion of this research is that the performance of Peking ducks which were given the addition of galangal flour in the ration could increase the feed consumption and body weight gain, but has not been efficient in reducing the value of feed conversion and the percentage of mortality.

Abstract

The addition of salt and herbal plants such as bay leaf (Eugenia polyantha) and lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus DC) extacts can extender the shelf life and increase the flavor of the salted eggs. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of eggs produced from using the herbal plants in terms of the organoleptic testing. This research used eggs from laying hens with salted egg making media consisting of rubbing ash plus salt, supplemented with bay leaf (Eugenia polyantha), lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus DC), with storage period of 10 days. Organoleptic test results showed that the addition of bay leaves and lemongrass to the production of salted eggs, did not significantly improve the quality of salted eggs produced. The lack of storage time in the egg marinating process led to the incomplete, in salt water absorption into the egg. It is concluded that the addition of bay leaves and lemongrass to the media of making salted chicken eggs did not have a significantly different effect on the organoleptic quality of the salted eggs.

Palembang: Unsri Press. The livestock system in Indonesia still uses conventional and minimal technology farming systems, one of which is in the field of feeding, especially medium-scale cattle and industry which consumes a lot of energy when feeding manually. Innovations offered to farmers include robotics technology. The technology in question is a hydraulic and Line Follower (HLF) robot. Hydraulics robot is a type of robot that uses liquid pressure as its driving force while the Robot Line Follower is a feed distribution robot that utilizes sensor technology. Robot Line Follower can move on its own by using a sensor line that will be made to follow the direction of the animal feed so that the robot can distribute feed to existing livestock. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is for medium-scale farmers and industry to know how to assemble Hydraulic and Line Follower robots, HLF robot work, process of using robots and know the advantages of applying HLF robot technology. The scope of this scientific article is in the fields of technological innovation, animal husbandry, and the food industry. The problems that will be examined in this scientific article consist of: how to assemble HLF robots, how to work HLF robots, HLF robot applications in cattle farms and the advantages of HLF Robot application. The idea of this article is sourced from surveys to cattle farms to obtain data and analysis of the work mechanism of animal feed and literature studies to strengthen opinions. The conclusion of this scientific article is the existence of robotics technology in the field of animal husbandry will further assist farmers in carrying out existing work so that it can be more efficient and profitable for farmers.Keywords: hydraulic robot, line follower robot, livestock industry, robotic technology

Abstract

Daging ayam ras petelur afkir memiliki kualitas yang rendah seperti aromanya yang amis dan tekstur dagingnya yang alot. Hal ini menyebabkan konsumsi masyarakat terhadap daging ayam ras petelur afkir rendah. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk melakukan pelatihan kepada PKK. Desa Karang Jaya terkait pengolahan daging ayam ras petelur afkir menjadi abon. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di desa Karang Jaya, Kecamatan Selupu Rejang kabupaten Rejang Lebong Provinsi Bengkulu. Tahapan kegiatan pengabdian ini meliputi: transfer ilmu pengetahuan tentang ayam ras petelur, daging ayam ras petelur, abon, manfaat pembuatan abon, dan teknik pengemasan. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan inti yaitu pelatihan pembuatan abon ayam ras petelur afkir, dan pengemasan abon. Sebelum dan setelah rangkaian kegiatan pengabdian, dilakukan evaluasi terhadap pengetahuan, keterampilan dan minat peserta terhadap pelatihan pembuatan abon. Hasil dari pelatihan ini terlihat bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 50%, keterampilan meningkat sebesar 78%, dan minat peserta baik sebelum dan setelah pelatihan tetap bertahan 100%. Simpulan dari kegiatan penabdian ini adalah bahwa kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan abon daging ayam ras petelur afkir telah berlangsung dengan baik, peserta antusias mengikuti rangkaian kegiatan pelatihan serta terjadi peningkatan dari segi pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta terkait abon ayam ras petelur afkir. Abstract

Feed is an important aspect in livestock business. Its role can reach 60-70% of the total production cost so that the use of alternative feed ingredients based on local resources needs to be increased. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of dried tofu dregs in the ration on the performa of starter Tegal male ducks. The research method used is an experimental method. The duck maintenance process lasts for 2 months. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications. Each test consisted of 4 ducks. The treatments consisted of: P0 = 100% ration, P1 = 90% ration + 10% Dry Tofu Dregs, P2 = 80% Ration + 20% Dry Tofu Dregs, P3 = 70% Ration + 30% Dry Tofu Dregs, P4 = 60% Ration + 40% Dry Tofu Dregs, P5 = 50% Ration + 50% Dry Tofu Dregs. Observed variables: Feed Intake, body weight gain, feed conversion, and mortality. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance and Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the treatment of the use of dried tofu waste in the ration had a significant effect (P <0.05) on feed intake, and did not significantly affect (P> 0.05) on body weight gain, feed conversion, and mortality. The conclusion from this study the P3 treatment showed an indication that the performa of Tegal ducks was relatively better than other treatments.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahuipotensi  limbah pertanian dan agroindustry sebagai pakan ternak di Kecamatan Selupu Rejang Kabupaten Rejang Lebong. Penelitian ini telah  dilaksanakan dari bulan Juni – Oktober 2021. Lokasi penelitian adalah kecamatan Selupu Rejang kabupaten Rejang Lebong. Prosedur penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan meliputi tahapan: persiapan, koordinasi dengan perangkat daerah, pengambilan data primer dan sekunder melalui survey, pengambilan sampel limbah pertanian dan agroindustry, persiapan sampel untuk analisis proksimat, tabulasi data, analisis data, dan pembuatan output penelitian. Metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, survey, dan pengambilan sampel limbah pertanian dan agroindustry.Sampel penelitian diambil secara purposive sampling dan penentuan jumlah petani ditentukan secara proporsional sampling.Data yang diperoleh dilakukan tabulasi data selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil survey menunjukkan bahwa komoditas tanaman di kecamatan Selupu Rejang terdiri atas tanaman hortikultura 83,33%, tanaman perkebunan 10,61%, dan palawija 6,61%. Produksi limbah pertanian terdiri limbah tanaman hortikultura rata – rata 36,04%, limbah tanaman palawija (Jagung) 100-231,67%, dan limbah agroindustri rata – rata 55%. Hasil analisis proksimat: Tebon Jagung mengandung Abu 11.23%, Lemak kasar 0,6%, Protein Kasar 10,02%, dan Serat Kasar 27,12%. Kulit Biji Kopi mengandung Abu 32,20%, Lemak kasar 0,94%, Protein kasar 10,68%, dan Serat Kasar 14,20%. Kulit buah Aren mengandung Abu 13,72%, Lemak kasar 0,81%, Protein kasar 11,21%, dan Serat kasar 17,61%. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah dari segi kuantitas dan kualitas nutrisi, limbah pertanian dan agroindustri di kecamatan Selupu Rejang berpotensi sebagai pakan ternak, yaitu tebon jagung, kulit buah kopi, dan kulit buah aren. Kandungan nutrisi limbah pertanian perlu ditingkatkan kualitasnya dengan menerapkan teknologi pengolahan makanan ternak.

Abstract

Masyarakat Musi Rawas Utara memiliki budaya dalam sistem pemeliharaan ternak kerbau dimana sistem pemeliharaan bersifat tradisional dan erat kaitannya dengan nilai kearifan lokal. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui kearifan lokal dalam mendukung perkembangan ternak kerbau berbasis kawasan. Objek yang diamati peternak dan stakeholder lainnya. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survey. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri dari data primer dan data sekunder. Data yang dikumpulkan selanjutnya dianalisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan analisis Lacation Quantient (LQ) untuk menentukan wilayah kawasan. Luaran yang di targetkan publikasi artikel dijurnalnasional terakreditasi peringkat 1-6. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 7 bentuk kearifan lokal dalam mendukung pengembangan ternak kerbau yaitu pemeliharaan sistem piket bergilir, sistem gaduhan ternak kerbau dari masyarakat, hukum adat tentang ternak kerbau, sistem pencarian ternak kerbau secara berkelompk pada sore hari, peloncengan pada ternak kerbau, sistem pemeliharaan ternak secara berkelompok (kolektif), serta pembangunan kandang secara berkelompok (kolektif). berdasarkan analisis LQ terdapat 3 Kecamatan kawasan ternak kerbau yaitu Kecamatan Rawas Ulu, Kecamatan Ulu Rawas dan Kecamatan Rupit. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat di simpulkan terdapat 7 kearifan lokal yang mampu mendukung pengembangan ternak kerbau berbasis kawasan dan 3 wilayah kawasan ternak kerbau di Kabupaten Musi Rawas Utara.

Abstract

Desa Kayu Manis merupakan desa yang memiliki potensi dalam pengembangan ternak sapi potong dan pakan ternak, salah satunya pada Kelompk Tani Tunas Muda. Namun, pengembangan ini belum didukung dengan penerapan teknologi dan kegiatan  pelatihan di bidang peternakan. Limbah pertanian berupa tebon jagung dan hijauan yang melimpah belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal sebagai pakan ternak. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penerapan teknologi pengawetan hijauan dan tebon jagung melalui pembuatan silase. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah mengoptimalisasi pemanfaatan limbah pertanian berupa tebon jagung dan hijauan sebagai pakan ternak, meningkatkan ketersediaan pakan ternak pada musim kemarau, meningkatkan pengetahuan, wawasan dan keterampilan  kelompok tani dalam pembuatan silase. Metode yang digunakan yaitu sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan. Setelah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, terjadi peningkatan dalam hal pengetahuan sebesar 97,73%, minat sebesar 95,45%, dan keterampilan sebesar  97,50% peserta pelatihan. Silase yang dihasilkan berwarna kuning kehijauan, beraroma fermentasi, dan bertekstur lunak serta memiliki tingkat palatabilitas ternak sebesar 80-100%.

Abstract

Pertanian sebagai ladang yang menghasilkan makanan manusia secara otomatis memainkan peran yang sama.  Kabupaten Rejang Lebong merupakan salah satu daerah produksi pertanian terbesar di Provinsi Bengkulu. Terletak di ketinggian 500 hingga 1.300 meter di atas permukaan laut, Rejang Lebong memiliki kekayaan potensi sumber daya alam, sebagian besar masyarakat bekerja sebagai petani atau buruh tani. Rendahnya minat pemuda melanjutkan kuliah maupun untuk menekuni pekerjaan di bidang pertanian tidak bisa dibiarkan begitu saja, mengingat peran penting dari sektor pertanian. Berdasarkan hal itu, penulis merasa perlu diadakan sosialisasi dan pelatihan mengenai pertanian kepada generasi muda. Pengenalan terhadap suatu pengetahuan akan lebih efektif jika dilakukan sedini mungkin. Melihat hal tersebut pengabdi merancang sebuah permainan edukasi agar siswa sekolah dasar bisa terlibat aktif dan menambah pengetahuannya terkait pertanian, peternakan dan perikanan. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan bentuk permainan edukasi ular tangga pada siswa sekolah dasar. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peserta mengapresiasi media yang digunakan dan menerima informasi dengan baik.
