Abstract

Desa Kayu Manis merupakan desa yang memiliki potensi dalam pengembangan ternak sapi potong dan pakan ternak, salah satunya pada Kelompk Tani Tunas Muda. Namun, pengembangan ini belum didukung dengan penerapan teknologi dan kegiatan  pelatihan di bidang peternakan. Limbah pertanian berupa tebon jagung dan hijauan yang melimpah belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal sebagai pakan ternak. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penerapan teknologi pengawetan hijauan dan tebon jagung melalui pembuatan silase. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah mengoptimalisasi pemanfaatan limbah pertanian berupa tebon jagung dan hijauan sebagai pakan ternak, meningkatkan ketersediaan pakan ternak pada musim kemarau, meningkatkan pengetahuan, wawasan dan keterampilan  kelompok tani dalam pembuatan silase. Metode yang digunakan yaitu sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan. Setelah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, terjadi peningkatan dalam hal pengetahuan sebesar 97,73%, minat sebesar 95,45%, dan keterampilan sebesar  97,50% peserta pelatihan. Silase yang dihasilkan berwarna kuning kehijauan, beraroma fermentasi, dan bertekstur lunak serta memiliki tingkat palatabilitas ternak sebesar 80-100%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth and yield of Okra plants in the highlands of Rejang Lebong Regency. This research was conducted at the Simpang Nangka Experimental Garden, Selupu Rejang District, Rejang Lebong Regency. The experimental design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with p lant genotype treatment, namely G1 (Green Okra) and G2 (Red Okra). Each treatment consisted of ten plant samples which were repeated three times so that there were 60 plant samples. In this study, observations were made on quantitative observational variables. The quantitative observation variables consisted of plant height, number of leaves, length of crates, diameter of crates, number of books, stem diameter, flowering age, number of fruit planted, fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter. The results showed that there was a tendency that red varieties were able to produce superior vegetative and generative components.

Abstract

The limitations of paddy fields can be overcome by the use of dry land through the application of the Aerobic Rice system. To increase rice production, the application of organic fertilizer is used as organic material that can improve the characteristics of dry land to nutrients available to plants. This study aims to determine the dose of goat manure that can increase the growth and yield of rice plants through the application of Aerobic Rice technology so as to be able to overcome the problems faced by people in Rejang Lebong District on land productivity and rice productivity. This study used factorial Randomized Complete Design, namely varieties and doses of goat manure on the Aerobic Rice system which were repeated three times. The results showed that real interactions were shown in the nine characters growth and yield observed, namely plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, flowering age, harvest age, panicle number, panicle length and number of pellets and number of pellets per clump. The difference in varieties is clearly indicated by the eight characters of growth and results observed, namely plant height, flowering age, harvest age, panicle length, number of pithy grains, weighted grain weight and number of pithy grains per clump. The application of goat manure doses also significantly affected twelve characters observed such as plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, age of flowering, harvest age, number of panicles, panicle length, number of rice grains, weight of grains, number of grains per clump, grain weight per clump and weight of 100 grains.

Abstract

As the main commodity in the market, the demand for chili continues to increase. Meanwhile, its average productivity is only 9.01 tons/ha nationally and classified as low. The main cause of this low productivity is the infeasibility of chili cultivation techniques among farmers. The optimal cultivation technique is expected to increase the rate of chili productivity, for example through pruning the buds of chili plants. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the best number of buds to perform an optimal growth and yield of chili plants. The experimental design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) where the buds treatment as followed: T0 (without maintaining bud), T1 (maintaining 1 bud), T2 (maintaining 2 buds), and T3 (maintaining 3 buds). Those treatments were executed with 3 repetitions. The observation data were analyzed using ANOVA at the 5% significance level. The results showed that the bud's maintenance on chili plants did not affect the variables of plant height, dichotomous branch height, canopy width, fruit weight per plant, number of fruits per plant, and weight per fruit.

Abstract

Green leafhopper is one of the important pests found in eggplant cultivation, especially in the Solanaceae family. To control the attack of green leafhoppers, in general, farmers will spray pesticides. This activity is an activity that aims to determine the effectiveness of lemongrass leaf extract for controlling green leafhopper attacks on eggplant plants tested. This activity was carried out at the Experimental Field of the Horticultural Crop Cultivation Study Program, Rejang Lebong State Community Academy. This activity was carried out from February to March 2022. In its implementation, this activity used an experimental design with a single Completely Randomized Design where each treatment was P0 (without spraying lemongrass leaf extract), P1 (Spraying Lemongrass Leaf Extract with a Concentration of 100 ml/ L), and P2 (Spraying Lemongrass Leaf Extract with a Concentration of 250 ml/L). the results of observations made it was known that there was a decrease in the population of green leafhoppers on plants after spraying treatment with lemongrass leaf extract. Although the analysis did not show a significantly different effect.

Abstract

Desa Sambirejo merupakan salah satu sentra produksi tanaman tomat. Pengaruh cuaca saat ini memberikan dampak yang buruk terhadap hasil produksi tomat. Karena tanaman tomat merupakan tanaman yang mudah diserang penyakit sehingga hasil panennya mengalami fluktuatif. Melalui penerapan teknologi sonic bloom dapat menambah pengetahuan, dan keterampilan serta dapat menjadi solusi pemecahan masalah dalam meningkatkan hasil panen petani. Teknologi sonic bloom merupakan gelombang suara berfrekuensi 3.500 – 5.000 Hz. Gelombang tersebut dapat merangsang pembukaan stomata tanaman sehingga penyerapan pupuk daun meningkat. Penerapan teknologi ini dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman tomat yang lebih baik. Hasilnya batang lebih tinggi, buah jauh lebih besar dan jumlah buah tomat lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan tanaman tomat jauh dari sumber suara.

Abstract

Desa Karang Jaya berada di kawasan wisata Kabupaten Rejang Lebong yang memiliki potensi dalam pengembangan sumber pendapatan masyakarat. Pengembangan sumber pendapatan masyarakat dapat dilakukan melalui pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal potensial yang dikenal sebagai sumber penghasil produk pertanian khususnya pada tanaman hortikultura seperti sayuran, buah dan tanaman hias. Pengembangan potensi tanaman hias melalui usaha yang dilakukan oleh Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Desa Karang Jaya membuat perekonomian masyarakat setempat mulai berdampak positif pada sumber pendapatan masyarakat. Untuk menjaga stabilitas perekonomian tersebut, diperlukan keterampilan yang dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi produk yang dihasilkan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberdayakan KWT pada usaha tanaman hias dalam meningkatkan keterampilan dan pendapatan masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di Desa Karang Jaya, Kabupaten Rejang Lebong dengan tahapan seperti survei lokasi, sosialisasi terhadap sasaran kelompok, demonstrasi, monitoring, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini secara nyata  memberikan keterampilan dan  menghasilkan produk-produk lokal hasi pengembangan tanaman hias berupa suvenir lokal yang siap kepada KWT di Desa Karang Jaya.

Abstract

Abstract The activity of utilizing coffee husks into compost for organic vegetable cultivation by farmer groups in Kayu Manis Village, Selupu Rejang District, Rejang Lebong Regency was carried out from March to August 2021. This activity aims to provide science and technology to the community, especially the Tunas Muda Farmers Group in Kayu Manis Village Selupu Rejang District in the utilization of agricultural waste such as coffee husks into compost so that it can be used to produce vegetables organically. The activity was carried out in several stages, starting from site surveys, counseling, mentoring through direct practice, monitoring to the stage of evaluating the implementation of activities. The results of this activity can significantly improve the science and technology of the community in utilizing coffee husks as compost for organic vegetable cultivation. Abstrak Kegiatan pemanfaatan kulit kopi menjadi kompos untuk budidaya sayuran organik oleh kelompok tani di Desa Kayu Manis Kecamatan Selupu Rejang Kabupaten Rejang Lebong dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai dengan Agustus 2021. Kegiatan tersebut bertujuan untuk memberikan IPTEK kepada masyarakat khususnya pada Kelompok Tani Tunas Muda di Desa Kayu Manis Kecamatan Selupu Rejang dalam pemanfaatan limbah pertanian seperti kulit kopi menjadi kompos agar dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memproduksi sayuran secara organik. Kegiatan tersebut dilakukan dalam beberapa tahapan yaitu mulai dari survei lokasi, penyuluhan, pendampingan melalui praktik langsung, monitoring hingga sampai pada tahapan evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini secara nyata dapat meningkatkan IPTEK masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan kulit kopi sebagai kompos untuk budidaya sayuran secara organik.

Abstract

Pertanian sebagai ladang yang menghasilkan makanan manusia secara otomatis memainkan peran yang sama.  Kabupaten Rejang Lebong merupakan salah satu daerah produksi pertanian terbesar di Provinsi Bengkulu. Terletak di ketinggian 500 hingga 1.300 meter di atas permukaan laut, Rejang Lebong memiliki kekayaan potensi sumber daya alam, sebagian besar masyarakat bekerja sebagai petani atau buruh tani. Rendahnya minat pemuda melanjutkan kuliah maupun untuk menekuni pekerjaan di bidang pertanian tidak bisa dibiarkan begitu saja, mengingat peran penting dari sektor pertanian. Berdasarkan hal itu, penulis merasa perlu diadakan sosialisasi dan pelatihan mengenai pertanian kepada generasi muda. Pengenalan terhadap suatu pengetahuan akan lebih efektif jika dilakukan sedini mungkin. Melihat hal tersebut pengabdi merancang sebuah permainan edukasi agar siswa sekolah dasar bisa terlibat aktif dan menambah pengetahuannya terkait pertanian, peternakan dan perikanan. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan bentuk permainan edukasi ular tangga pada siswa sekolah dasar. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peserta mengapresiasi media yang digunakan dan menerima informasi dengan baik.

Abstract

Tissue culture is one of the in vitro propagation techniques for orchids that can be used to produce superior seeds. The final stage of the activity is the acclimatization process. The aim of acclimatization is to condition orchid seeds (in vitro) so that they can live in the real environment. One of the factors that influence the growth and development of seedlings at the acclimatization stage is the use of the type of planting media. Therefore, this study aims to obtain the right planting media used in the acclimatization stage of three types of orchids. This research was carried out in the plant house of the Horticultural Crop Study Program at the State Community Academy of Rejang Lebong in May - September 2022. The experimental design used was a factorial completely randomized design (CRD). The first factor is the type of planting medium (M1: fern, M2: husk charcoal, and M3: coffee husk), while for the second factor is the type of orchid plant which consists of A1: D. dicalor, A2: Phalaenopsis, and A3: Nodula. Each treatment was repeated three times in each experiment. carried out on the character of plant height, number of leaves, and stem diameter of orchid plants. The results showed that there was an interaction between the type of planting medium and the type of orchid on the character of the number of leaves. The best interaction performance was shown in the type of rice husk charcoal growing medium against the moon orchid.
