Abstract The writing of this paper aims to describe the process of making information about Karo tribe culture in North Sumatera. Data collected using descriptive research methods with objects of cultural research found in Karo tribes as well as techniques for collecting data through interviews with traditional male, female, and community members, as well as through literature studies in accordance with the discussion under study. Based on the discussion it can be concluded the process of making information about the culture of the North Sumatera tribe as follows: (1) determine the topic: the topic raised was Karo tribe culture. (2) information gathering: data collection on Karo tribe culture was conducted by interview. (3) packaging information: packaging information is carried out in accordance with the draft content that has been made in advance. The design of information content consist of the front cover, preface, table of content, introduction of chapter, contents of the subject of information on the culture of the North Sumatera Karo tribe, and the back cover. This paperaims to describe the Shelter Home Management provided Solok City Public Library. Based on theresults of the survey and the analysis found that the Shelter Home Management Solok City Public Library began with the planning of activities organized by Solok City Public Library. The nextplanis organizedin a coordinated manner by the employee or staff assigned tomanage thes helter. Operational activitiesin thes helter directly supervised by the Public Library of Solok and must submita reporton the application to the head of the library budget. From the report managers helters will receive direction from the head of the library if necessary. Of these findings should be expected Solok City Public Library include eshelt ermanagers in creatingan action plan that will be implemented by the halfway house. In operations hould need additional staff fing shelters because of the density of the activities to becarried out by the halfway house. Keywords: library; information; shelter home

The purpose of this paper is to explain the process of making the trap pests in the maintenance of the archive against the head and members of the Office Unit Manager (UPK) Activity Sub Koto XI Tarusan. The creation of this pest trap aimed at keeping the archives from damage caused by insects.The method used is descriptive method. Data collected through direct research, based on the facts that happened on the field Unit Office Manager (UPK) Activity Sub Koto XI Tarusan. Observations were made during 10 days.Based on the results of the study it was concluded that to prevent insects breeding there is no longer carried out fumigation, simply by mounting the trap pests in archives. The materials and tools used in pembutan this pest trap is a simple tool and material. This is because there are a lot of advantages derived from the making of this pest traps, traps the pest has no effect against damage to archives, and does not require special treatment because once created enough placed on shelves hung way archives that have been given a nail, a distance which is not far from the surface of the floor then the insects will go by itself.Keyword: Manufacture Of Trap Pests.

Writing this article aims; (1) to describe the process of making educational video library user in the UNP, (2) to describe video library user education as a medium for enhancing student understanding of the desert state university library services. Based on the analysis it can be concluded that the implementation of user education is conducted in Padang State University Libraries is less effective. This can be seen from there are still some students do not understand how to use the services available in the Library of the State University of Padang, especially in the online catalog and borrowing service. This lack of understanding is due at the time the student user education activities only a few participants who had the opportunity memperaktikkan online catalog services, while other participants see only just. Based on this conclusion suggested giving more interesting things in the delivery of user education materials to participants, so that participants do not feel bored, for example, just by using video media library user education. The purpose of this study was to describe the factors that cause students not to visit Bung Hatta Library. Data was collected through observation and guided interviews.Â Interviews was were given to students.The data was analyzed by (1) describe the results ofthe interview, (2) describe thedirectobservation, (3) obtained in accor dance with the theories discussed, (4) concluded, (5) reporting. Based on analyzing the data it can be concluded: (1) the of the library is very far from the students location studied at campus II Aia Pacah, (2) the collection thatÂ available in the library are obselent and (3) the books which are needed by student are often not available in the library. Bung Hatta University Library should provides a collection as the uders needed. Collections of the library can not meet the needs of the students, and the collection most obselent. This paper discusses about the design of a web-based database as the retrieval media of archive in main computer office of UNP. This writing aims to describe how to design a web-based database as the retrieval media of archive in main computer office of UNP, so it can help the process of finding the archives that required quickly and accurately. There are some steps in design a web-based the retrieval media of archive. First, the retrieval media of archive can be more effective tool in supporting the management of archive in main computer office of UNP. Second, the retrieval media of archive can be used as an alternative tool of archival storage from paper into non-paper that can be stored into a computer database. Third, the retrieval media of archive can be as a searching tool of archive that has stored into the database quickly and accurately. Fourth, the retrieval media of archive provides a lot of convenience for archivists in terms of the search and management. Keywords: database; retrieval; search

This paper discusses electronic database of medical records of patients in Health Center Kapau, Tilatang Kamang Subdistrict, Agam Regency. This study aims to describe the design method of the database that is hoped can accelerate the performance of the Healt Center officer. Data were collected through observation and document reviews and then analyzed descriptively. Based on analysis of the data, it can conclude that in the database could be designed by using Microsoft Office Access 2007, a database application computer program for designing, creating and processing different types of data with a large capacity. This database consists of two tables, namely the identity of the patient table and patient visits table. In this database design typography and colors is used according to the needs of visible. Interesting, and easy to be read. Patient medical records database is especially useful for the health center since it can facilitate the work of officers inÂ searching for the location of patientâ€™s medical record document. Moreover, the database can shorten working time of the officers because it can be retrieved quickly compared with the manual searching that relatively slow and takes a long time. AbstractIn this paper, it is discussed about Making Library Promotion Videos in Imam Bonjol State Islamic University Library Padang. The purpose of this paper is to describe the stages of making library promotional videos at the Imam Bonjol State Islamic University Library in Padang. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive method. Data collected through observation and interviews with the Head of Imam Bonjol State Islamic University Library Padang. Based on analyzing the data it can be concluded that the steps in making a library promotion video are follows: First, preproduction is the initial stage before the video production process consists of the discovery of ideas which are the theme of production, synopsis, treatment which gives an overview of the production theme, storyboards that describe a series of events, shooting scripts as a guide in the field, production planning, and production preparation. Second, production to realize all the steps in the preproduction stage. Third, post-production is the final stage in video production before itâ€™s ready to be presented.Keywords: videos, promotions, libraries

AbstractA makingÂ library promotionÂ Â videoÂ and reading for children in Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat,, to promote library especially children service in order to optimize library usage in growing reading interest to society which expected to start from early age. Making this research using descriptive methods, by way of observation. After the data collection is done, the next step in the library promotion and reading for children is (1) pre production by determining the idea, making synopsis, treatment, storyboard, shooting script, production planning, production preparation, and the last is editing vidio, (2) production, production stage, production stage is the stage used to run all the stages that have been designed at the stage of pre-production, (3) post production vidio production using video editing software is Adobe Pemier Pro Software.Keyword: making, video, promotion, library

This paper is aimed to describe about the maintenance and preservation of library materials in SMAN 7 Padang dealing with: (1) the factors that caused damage in library materials in SMAN 7 Padang, (2) how to prevent the damage to library materials in SMAN 7 Padang, (3) the constraints faced in the maintenance and preservation of library materials SMAN 7 Padang.Data were collected through observation and interviews with librarians in SMANegeri 7 Padang then from other materials that are supportive. From the analysis and discussion of the study, the result was found as the following: First, the damage of library materials in SMANegeri 7 is caused by factors of physics, biology, chemistry, and humans. Second, the maintenance of library materials in SMANegeri 7 Padang has been done but not optimal yet, such as cleaning the books from dust by using a feather duster and wipe dry. Third, SMANegeri 7 Padang does not have professional staff and also lack of funds to maintenance.Based on the conclusion above, it is suggested as follows. First, it should have professional librarians there. Second, the school should pay more attention to the library by providing the funds for maintenance of library materials.
