Abstract

The creative industry is one of the industries that currently supports the Indonesian economy. The purpose of this study is to formulate the distribution model of Jember's creative industry towards the international market. This study is quantitative-descriptive research conducted in Jember using SMEs as population. Furthermore, samples were taken by using a non-probability sampling technique with a convenience sampling method. The analytical tool used in this study was a fishbone diagram. The results of the fishbone diagram analysis showed several causes of SMEs growth problems such as the lack of HR skills in foreign languages, the inadequate of sophisticated technology in business, and the minimal amount of business capital. The inappropriate adoption of the technology was then identified as the root cause of the problem. Thus, the distribution model for the creative industry to increase competitiveness in the international market is the technology application in every element of the SMEs. Abstract

For controlling the negative impact of Covid-19 outbreak, the Indonesia government instructs the citizen to work from home (WFH). Unfortunately, the WFH productivity is still questioned. This study is an attempt to elaborate work productivity and the effect of digital skill as individual driver, digital collaboration as group driver, and perceived organizational support or POS as organizational driver. For supporting the arguments, this article has conducted a quantitative study which involved 824 working citizens as the respondents from all over Indonesia. The respondents are mostly the first timers of working from home. They were working for governmental institution or business organizations from various industries in Indonesia. Collected data was structured and calculated by PLS structural equation modelling) and SmartPLS application version 3. This study concludes that digital skill and POS affect directly on work productivity, but digital collaboration impacts indirectly. Digital skill becomes a mediator in linkage between digital collaboration and work productivity

During COVID-19, working from home (WFH) becomes most possible working arrangement alternative in order to practice social distancing. The productivity of WFH is still questioned by many organizations, especially companies which conduct WFH extensively for the first time. Do digital skills, work motivation, digital leadership, digital collaboration, perceived organizational support, and performance management impact positively and significantly on work productivity? This paper is based on cross-sectional study which involved 855 office workers from 32 provinces in Indonesia.  PLS SEM and SmartPLS version 3.0 were used to structure and test the research model. The analysis result reveals that individual factor influences WFH productivity directly, while group and organizational antecedents influenced indirectly. To leverage WFH productivity, organizations should focus to develop digital skills and work motivation as individual factor. The organizational and group antecedents should be aligned and directed to impact on WFH productivity.

Abstract

The topic of Millennials (1980-1995) in the workplace raises many business conversations and studies. These past few years, Millennials have filled up the workplace and surprisingly brought an interesting phenomenon. Millennials easily leave their jobs to find another in less than two years after starting the job. The goal of this paper is to examine this phenomenon by understanding the factors related to high millennials turnover. Some things that will be explained related to millennials are their employee commitment, wellbeing, and the function of career path and development in retaining millennials. The method of this writing is through journal reviews. In many studies, millennials are explained to be aware of their wellbeing and value work-life balance. They are eager to learn more and make changes when they could. Organizations that do not provide millennials with a place to grow and explore their capabilities to the fullest would not earn their loyalty. Clear career path and career development create the environment in which millennials feel appreciated, and it leads to employee satisfaction and a healthy workplace. When employees are satisfied, they will perform better to achieve the organization's goals and their own goals. Eventually, satisfied millennials will possess a higher commitment to the organization. It is crucial for an employer to understand millennials' characteristics and provides them with opportunities to grow because millennials' trust must be sought through processes where millennials are looked after.
