Abstract

This study is aimed at developing the application of responsibility through the implementation of Numbered Head Together model in the social science learning process. The type of this research was descriptive analysis using qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were the third-grade students and teachers of social science learning in Sukoharjo Sub-district. Data collection techniques in this study were documentation studies, observation, and interviews. The findings of the research were analyzed using interactive analysis of Miles and Huberman model and presented through descriptive narrative text. The results of the research show that: 1) the learning result of the third-grade students in social science subject is not maximal yet, 2) the students are not aware of the social science learning objectives for their future, 3) the teachers remain applying the conventional model, 4) the teacher has not implemented the social science learning process involving the students' responsibility. The characteristics of Numbered Head Together learning model are suitable to be applied in learning social science because it makes the students serious in learning, develop thinking skills, and improve social relationships among students that can be used as a means to develop the studenta responsibilities in the social studies learning process.DOI: https://doi.org/10.24071/ijiet.2018.020202

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of grammatical and lexical cohesion markers, the variation of the grammatical and lexical cohesion markers use, and the misuse of cohesion markers on the exposition of the students. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data sources came from a collection of students expository text, with purposive sampling as data analysis technique. The results of this study indicates that: (1) the most used grammatical cohesion marker by class X IPS 2 students is the reference form with the highest appearance of 42 data, while the lexical cohesion marker most used is form repetition with the highest appearance of 13 data; (2) the use of the grammatical and lexical cohesion marker in writing the exposition has been shown to be varied, although the use is still uneven; (3) the most common misuse of grammatical cohesion marker in the student exposition is the use of the conjunction with the percentage of 73.08%.

Abstract

Buku ajar bahasa Indonesia memegang peranan penting bagi keberhasilan penulisan karya ilmiah mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan umum dalam penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan Buku Ajar Mata Kuliah Umum Lintas Program Studi Perguruan Tinggi di DKI Jakarta dengan Pendekatan Scientific Approach. Pentingnya buku ajar dalam proses perkuliahan memudahkan dan membantu pemahaman suatu mata kuliah yang dipergunakan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa. Kemampuan dosen untuk memilih buku ajar yang baik sangat diperlukan. Buku ajar mahasiswa sangat banyak dan beragam yang tersedia di pasaran dan tentu dengan kualitas yang berbeda. Pada buku ajar menurut beberapa hasil penelitian dan pengalaman penulis sendiri masih ditemukan konsep-konsep yang kurang tepat, miskonsepsi dan memerlukan konsepsi alternatif. Karena, semua mahasiswa harus memiliki kemampuan dan pedoman untuk memilih buku ajar. Hasil kajian ternyata buku ajar harus dipilih berdasarkan kepada integritas dan literasi ilmiah.Kata Kunci: buku ajar, scientific approach, menulis, karya ilmiah. Indonesian textbooks play an important role for the success of writing student scientific papers in the learning process. The general objective in this research is to develop Textbooks for General Subjects across Higher Education Study Programs in DKI Jakarta with a Scientific Approach Approach. The importance of textbooks in the lecture process makes it easier and helps the understanding of a subject used by lecturers and students. The ability of lecturers to choose good textbooks is needed. There are many and varied student textbooks available in the market and of course with different qualities. In textbooks, according to some research results and the author's own experience, there are still inappropriate concepts, misconceptions and require alternative conceptions. Because, all students must have the ability and guidelines to choose textbooks. The results of the study show that textbooks must be selected based on integrity and scientific literacy.Keywords: textbook, scientific approach, writing, scientific work.

Abstract

AbstrakArtikel ini menjelaskan tentang Pelaksanaan kebijakan pemerintah Indonesia terhadap etnis Tionghoa di Kota Malang tahun 1967-2000. Kota Malang merupakan salah satu wilayah yang kosmopolit dan multi etnis yang terbuka terhadap segala bentuk budaya dari luar. Di Kota Malang salah satu keberadaan komunitas yang cukup penting untuk dikaji adalah etnis Tionghoa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi politik untuk menganalisis keberadaan komunitas Tionghoa di Malang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam rangka mengintegrasikan etnis Tionghoa ke dalam masyarakat pribumi, pemerintah mulai menerapkan asimilasi sebagai kebijakan yang resmi pada masa rezim Orde Baru. Kebijakan asimilasi yang diterapkan oleh pemerintah Orde Baru memberikan dampak terhadap etnis Tionghoa di Malang, baik yang sifatnya positif ataunpun negatif. DI masa masa reformasi, paling tidak sampai tahun 2000, pemerintah memberikan kebebasan kepada komunitas Tionghoa dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan, khususnya dengan mencabut kebijakan yang dianggap mendiskriminasi mereka. Berbagai kebijakan pemerintah pada era reformasi mencerminkan pembelaan terhadap kaum minoritas Tionghoa. Oleh karenya kehidupan komunitas etnis Tionghoa di Kota Malang lebih baik. Bahkan, komunitas Tionghoa juga merasakan dampak positif secara kultural, yakni kebebasan mengekspresikan kekayaan budaya mereka.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang proses industrialisasi di Kabupaten Pasuruan, utamanya Pasuruan Industrial EstateRembang (PIER). Permasalahan yang dikaji dalam artikel ini adalah sejarah berdirinya kawasan industri PIER,bagaimana kondisi kawasan PIER dari tahun 1992-2007 dan dampak adanya industri PIER terhadap masyarakatdan Pemda. Data yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah data-data hasil studi pustaka berupa buku,laporan, terbitan khusus, survey lapangan, dan wawancara. Adapun hasil dari analisis data adalah kenyataanbahwa keberadaan kawasan industri PIER berdampak positif baik terhadap masyarakat sekitar kawasan PIERkhususnya maupun masyarakat Pasuruan pada umumnya serta terhadap Pemerintah daerah setempat. Dampakterhadap masyarakat adalah munculnya pusat-pusat ekonomi baru, terserapnya tenaga kerja dan perkembangankota. Sementara dampak bagi Pemerintah daerah adalah peningkatan PAD, baik dari sektor pajak maupun sektoryang lain.Kata Kunci: industrialisasi, perubahan, PIER

Abstract

The Chinese was considered the foreign people in Besuki Residency, despite of they hadsettled in Java northeast coast, even some had become administrators in the private land ofthe area. This article identifies and describes why they were able to be the administratorsin the area from the end of 18th to the beginning of 19th century. The problems to discuss are the relationship between Chinese administrators and the indigenous government and their relationship to the people. This study shows that there were differences and similaritiesbetween Chinese contract handlers (Chinese landlords) and Chinese as administrators.They were differentiated by the way of earning wide land and the way of getting power.The landlords had the right to manage wide land by renting or buying from the colonialgovernment. Meanwhile, Chinese administrators were promoted as the head of area becausetheir merit for colonial government. However, in managing the rented district both of them had similiar tendency; governing by feudal manner from which they considered themselvesthe owners of the land.

Abstract

One problem faced when implementing the 2013 curriculum at SD Negeri Jajar No. 73 Surakarta, is about the application of authentic assessment. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the teacher's knowledge about authentic assessment, factors that cause teachers difficulties in implementing authentic assessment, and solutions that teachers do to overcome these difficulties. This research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this study was teacher at SD Negeri Jajar No. 73 Surakarta. Data was collected by interview, observation and documentation. The results of research showed: 1) teachers understanding of authentic assessment is good, teachers knew that authentic assessment is an assessment that used in 2013 curriculum consisting of cognitive, affective, psychomotor assessments. 2) Factors causing difficulties faced by teachers in implementing authentic assessment, namely: often found different basic competencies from one book to another, there are still some students who do not collect assignments, too many assessment techniques that need to be done cause teachers to experience being overwhelmed, time is limited. 3) The teacher's efforts to overcome difficulties when implementing authentic assessment are: always looking for the latest information (up to date), attending training or workshops related to authentic assessment, teachers can manage time better.

Abstract

Abstract: The value of local wisdom “Perdikan Cahyana” which became the philosophy and principles of life in society would be more meaningful if it was manifested in learning. As a form of local wisdom manifestation in learning of Indonesian and Literature subject, especially fiction material is to develop instructional material which was meaningful and relevant to the environment and local wisdom values of the students. This research used research and development (R&D) method to develop instructional material of fiction story that was suitable with the students’ cultural needs, contexts, and then it was validated based on the criteria of the eligibility of instructional material. The local wisdom integration in the instructional material did not damage the material content, but it could strenghten the material. The development of this instructional material based on the local wisdom of “Perdikan Cahyana” which was aimed to achieve the learning objectives and also to converse and internalize the values of local wisdom had meet the instructional material feasibility based on the elibility criteria of the contents, language and readability, materials presentation, and graphics.Keywords: fiction material, perdikan cahyana, local culture.

Abstract

Abstract. 21st century life is viewed as a modernity era in various areas, one of which is education. The 21st century's role is one of the keys to success in advancing education in both academic and nonacademic areas. That success should be accompanied by competence mastered by the teacher. Teachers must have adequate competence because it is particularly important in determining the success of the objectives of education, especially in today's modern era, the pennogical competence alone is not enough. Teachers need to have ability in planning learning programs, ability to interact with learners or manage the teaching process, and doing assessment ability. The skills of the 21st century are those requiring 21-century educated people to be literate, be technologically gifted, be critical in mind and creative in mind, and be able to communicate or collaborate effectively. One skill a learner must master is creative thinking skills. Creative thinking skills are the mental faculties that a person USES to build new ideas and ideas, so in school learning how well the teacher emphasizes on developing creative thinking skills. Creative thinking skills are among the skills a learner needs. Creative thinking skills are expected to benefit the science of nation.

Abstract

Mastering Indonesian language is a crucial thing although it is not one of requirements to study in Indonesia. The foreign students need to speak in Indonesian language because people like to communicate in same language. That’s why many Indonesian Language Teaching Institutions for Foreign Students (ILTIFS) provided some services to conduct Indonesian learning especially in Central Java- Indonesia. This study is purposed to describe an effort to develop Indonesian learning material for foreign students enriched by local culture. Learning language means learning its culture, foreign students need to know local culture so they can communicate contextually and avoid from shock culture in early living here. The paper used qualitative description to explain four steps on developing learning material.
