Abstract

Kulit ubi jalar biasanya hanya dibuang sebagai limbah ke lingkungan, atau kadang dijadikan sebagai makanan ternak. Kulit ubi jalar sebenarnya masih menyisakan bahan-bahan yang dapat dijadikan medium biakan bakteri  Acetobacter xylinum untuk menghasilkan nata. Akan tetapi informasi dari sekolah yang disurvey umumnya belum memiliki pengetahuan langkah-langkah untuk memanfaatkan kulit ubi jalar tersebut dan keterbatasan alat serta bahannya. Telah dilakukan kegiatan Bimbingan teknis cara pembuatan nata yang berbahan dasar kulit ubi jalar kepada guru-guru biologi dan siswa-siswi SMA/sederajat se-kabupaten Tanah Laut dan sekitarnya. Proses pembuatan nata mengacu pada teknik dasar pembuatan nata oleh (Saragih, 2004). Metode kegiatan bimbingan teknis dengan cara: 1) pemaparan materi tentang nata dan cara pembuatan nata; 2) Demonstrasi secara virtual pembuatan nata de piel batatas melalui tayangan video; Kegiatan diikuti oleh 68 peserta yang meliputi guru dan siswa dari 5 SMA Negeri dan 1 MAN serta dari Politeknik yang ada di Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Hasil bimbingan menunjukkan bahwa peserta memahami cara membuat nata de piel batatas yang berasal dari kulit ubi jalar. Berdasarkan jawaban angket yang diberikan setelah bimbingan, sebanyak 74,2% peserta menyatakan memahami cara membuat nata de piel batatas yang berasal dari kulit ubi jalar dan sangat setuju dengan kegiatan ini. Peserta memberikan respon yang positif dan 71,2% berminat untuk mencoba membuatnya. Sweet potato skin is usually only dumped as waste into the environment or sometimes used as fodder. Sweet potato skin still leaves ingredients that can be used to breed bacteria Acetobacter xylinum to produce Nata. However, in school do not know measures to use the sweet potato skin and the limitations of tools and materials. Technical guidance on how to make sweet potato skin-based Nata has been conducted to biology teachers and high school students/equivalents in Tanah Laut and surrounding districts. Making Nata refers to the basic techniques of making Nata by (Saragih, 2004). Methods of technical guidance activities through: 1) exposure of material about Nata and how to make nata; 2) Virtual demonstration of the making of Nata de piel batatas through video viewing; The activity was attended by 68 participants including teachers and students from 5 public high schools and 1 MAN as well as from polytechnics in Tanah Laut Regency. Based on the evaluation after guidance, 74.2% of participants stated that they understood how to make Nata de piel batatas from sweet potato skins and strongly agreed with this activity. Participants gave a positive response, and 71.2% were interested in trying to make it.

Abstract

Pembuatan preparat segar suatu tumbuhan atau hewan merupakan ketrampilan yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang guru biologi karena praktikum merupakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang tidak bisa dipisahkan dengan teori / konsep-konsep biologi. Bagus atau tidaknya tampilan suatu preparat tergantung pada  ketrampilan saat preparasi. Untuk membangun ketrampilan preparasi pengamatan stomata kepada para guru biologi  maka solusinya dengan memberikan bimbingan teknis preparasi jaringan epidermis tumbuhan untuk pengamatan stomata daun. Teknik preparasi mengacu pada Budi & Dhea (2018), Amintarti (2020) dan Nugraha (2020)  Metode bimbingan teknis dengan cara: 1) Menyampaikan materi tentang jaringan epidermis pada tumbuhan; 2) Menayangkan video preparasi jaringan epidermis untuk mengamati stomata; dan 3) Praktek pembuatan preparat jaringan epidermis untuk pengamatan stomata. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 35 orang guru biologi SMA/sederajat di Kabupaten Tanah Laut yang dilaksanakan secara luring bertempat di SMAN 1 Pelaihari. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan   77,8% peserta menyatakan sangat setuju bahwa cara yang diberikan oleh Tim sangat praktis untuk membuat preparat pengamatan stomata. Sebanyak 33,3% peserta bimbingan telah berhasil membuat preparat dengan tampilan gambar stomata di bawah mikroskop yang sangat bagus, dan sebanyak 66,7% juga telah berhasil membuat preparat dengan tampilan gambar stomata yang belum sempurna. Keberhasilan ini membuat 100% peserta menyatakan mempraktekkannya pada pembelajaran di kelas. Dan 88,9% dari peserta bersedia untuk menginformasikannya kepada guru-guru biologi lain yang tidak mengikuti kegiatan bimbingan teknis ini. Making fresh preparations of a plant or animal is a skill that a biology teacher must possess because practicum is a learning activity that cannot be separated from biological theories/concepts. The appearance of preparation depends on the skill during preparation. To build preparation skills for observation stomata for biology teachers, the solution is to provide technical guidance for preparing plant epidermal tissue for leaf stomata observation. The preparation technique refers to Budi & Dhea (2018), Amintarti (2020) and Nugraha (2020). The technical guidance method is by 1) Delivering material about epidermal tissue in plants, 2) Showing a video of epidermal tissue preparation to observe stomata, and 3) The practice of making epidermal tissue preparations for stomata observation. The activity was attended by 35 high school biology teachers/equivalents in Tanah Laut Regency, which was carried out offline at SMAN 1 Pelaihari. The activity results showed that 77.8% of participants strongly agreed that the method provided by the team was very practical for making stomatal observation preparations. As many as 33.3% of the guidance participants have successfully prepared a very good appearance of stomata images under a microscope. As many as 66.6% have also succeeded in making preparations with rudimentary stomatal images. This success made 100% of the participants state that they would practice it in classroom learning. Moreover, 88.9% of the participants were willing to inform other biology teachers who did not participate in this technical guidance activity.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an intellectual process that actively and conceptually conceptualizes, implements, analyzes, synthesizes, and evaluates information gathered or generated from observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, to guide beliefs and actions. That's because with critical thinking, individuals can be trained to solve problems in different and diverse ways. Giving problems to be solved by the student can track the ability to think critically well, because to solve the problem, one must have the ability to think critically. The purpose of this research is to describe the students' critical thinking profile in solving a valid and reliable microbiological problem. The type of research used is descriptive research using qualitative approach. Subjects in this study were some students of Biology Education of Lambung Mangkurat University who have taken microbiology courses in 2014/2015 academic year, amounting to 6 students, students drawn from 3 high, medium, and low category based on the value of microbiology course. The results of this study indicate that the critical thinking level of Biology University students of Lambung Mangkurat is dominant in critical thinking with critical and critical category. Students who take the course of microbiology certainly have different levels of critical thinking on each person based on written assignments that have been given.

Abstract

Modul on Oyster Mushroom cultivation was used in training for 17 students ofGrade X and XI, SMA Negeri 1 Jorong, Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan Province. The purpose of the research was to measure their knowledge as well as performance and appoint students as cadres of oyster mushroom cultivation. Knowledge of the students was tested pre-training and post-training. Their performances were evaluated through 6 parameters. Those were discussion, making the planting medium, making leaflet, making school magazine, behaving as a guide, and making processed food based on Oyster Mushroom. The knowledge of the students increased post-training, although varied. In general their performanceswere very satisfying. Of 17 students, 15 wereappointed as cadres on Oyster Mushroom cultivation.Keywords:        cultivation, knowledge, Oyster Mushroom, performance, student

Abstract

Learning in the curriculum 2013 provides a learning model that facilitates critical thinking skills. The material for the Sub-Regulatory System in biology learning is still conceptual, so it is necessary to develop a learning material. Learning materials in the form of student worksheet (LKPD) function to facilitate students to actively shape their knowledge according to the demands of the curriculum 2013. The research uses the EDR model and aims to develop student worksheet (LKPD) based on valid critical thinking skills. The research method used Tessmer design, by going through stages 1) self-evaluation; 2) expert review; 3) individual test; 4) small group test and 5) field test. Expert review research subjects consisted of 2 supervisors and 1 high school biology teacher. Individual test subjects were 3 students of class XI MIA 1. Data collection techniques for the validity and practicality of the content used the mean technique. The data analysis technique for the validity and practicality of the content was determined with a final score of 4 in the very valid category. The results showed the validity of LKPD based on expert review obtained the valid category with an overall average of 3.73.    Abstrak. Pembelajaran pada kurikulum 2013 menyediakan model pembelajaran yang memfasilitasi keterampilan berpikir kritis. Materi Sub Sistem Regulasi dalam pembelajaran biologi masih berupa konseptual sehingga perlu dikembangkan sebuah bahan pembelajaran. Bahan pembelajaran berupa LKPD berfungsi untuk memfasilitasi peserta didik untuk aktif membentuk pengetahuannya sesuai tuntutan kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan model EDR dan bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD berdasarkan keterampilan berpikir kritis yang valid. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain Tessmer, dengan melalui tahapan 1) Evaluasi diri; 2) uji pakar; 3) uji perorangan; 4) uji kelompok kecil dan 5) uji lapangan. Subjek penelitian uji pakar terdiri dari 2 dosen pembimbing dan 1 orang guru Biologi jenjang SMA. Subjek uji perorangan adalah 3 orang peserta didik kelas XI MIA 1. Teknik pengumpulan data validitas dan kepraktisan isi menggunakan teknik rerata. Teknik analisis data validitas dan kepraktisan isi ditetapkan dengan skor akhir 4 dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) validitas LKPD berdasarkan uji pakar mendapatkan kategori valid dengan rata-rata keseluruhan 3,73; 2) kepraktisan isi LKPD mendapatkan kategori baik dengan rata-rata keseluruhan 3,95.

Abstract

One of the urgent problems in Ethnobotany learning is the lack of learning resources. Jatropha gossypiifolia is one of the plants found in the Tabanio Coastal Forest Area, Tanah Laut Regency, and has the potential to be used as a learning resource. The potency of the Jatropha gossypiifolia plant as a learning resource, teaching materials are made in the form of a scientific book on the study of ethnobotany Jatropha gossypiifolia plants in the Tabanio coastal forest as supporting material for the Ethnobotany course. This study aims to describe the validity of scientific books has developed by plant ethnobotany Jatropha gossypiifolia. This as supporting material for Ethnobotany courses. This study uses a research development method with the Education Design Research (EDR) model with a formative evaluation of the Tessmer test. This scientific book "Study of Plant Ethnobotany Jatropha gossypiifolia Tabanio Beach Forest" has been stated by two valid validated validators with a validity score of 93.75%, and individual tests with a score of 92.11% were in the excellent category.AbstrakSalah satu permasalahan penting dalam pembelajaran Etnobotani adalah kurangnya sumber belajar. Jatropha gossypiifolia adalah salah satu tumbuhan yang terdapat di Kawasan Hutan Pantai Tabanio Kabupaten Tanah Laut berpotensi dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar. Oleh karena potensi tumbuhan Jatropha gossypiifolia sebagai sumber belajar maka dibuat bahan ajar berupa buku ilmiah tentang kajian etnobotani tumbuhan Jatropha gossypiifolia hutan pantai Tabanio sebagai materi penunjang mata kuliah Etnobotani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validitas buku ilmiah yang dikembangkan tentang Etnobotani Tumbuhan Jatropha gossypiifolia sebagai materi penunjang mata kuliah Etnobotani. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan dengan model Education Design Research (EDR) dengan evaluasi formatif uji Tessmer. Buku ilmiah yang dikembangkan berjudul Kajian Etnobotani Tumbuhan Jatropha gossypiifolia  Hutan Pantai Tabanio dinyatakan oleh dua validator bernilai sangat valid dengan skor validitasnya 93,75% dan untuk uji perorangan mendapatkan skor 92,11% dengan kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Implementation of the 2013 curriculum has generally used recommended models, but the role of the work-sheets used in the learning process still does not facilitate students' critical thinking skills. The research aims to evaluate the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the development worksheets on the microbial concepts based on urban wetlands to improve students' critical thinking skills. The development of work-sheets was carried out in 2 phases; preliminary research phase and prototype phase using the Tessmer design. Content validation uses a validation assessment sheet instrument. The practicality data of the contents was using an assessment sheet instrument on the worksheet structure. Practicality data (expectations and actual) were collected using a practicality sheet instrument obtained from students' responses to the contents of the worksheet. Effectiveness data (expectations and actual) are obtained based on the results of critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills (cooperation), and intra-personal skills (responsible). Data analysis techniques by calculating the percentage of validation refer to Akbar (2017), practicality test, and effectiveness test with criteria referring to Purwanto (2012). The results showed that worksheets for students were valid and were practical for users with the practicality of contents and practicality of expectations is good. Work-sheets was declared to be effectively used based on the results of the critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills (collaboration), and intra-personal skills (meticulous), and the value of the effectiveness of expectations is good categories too.AbstrakImplementasi Kurikulum 2013 umumnya telah menggunakan model-model yang direkomendasikan, namun peran LKPD yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran masih belum memfasilitasi keterampilan berpikir kritis (KBK) peserta didik. Penelitian bertujuan mengevaluasi validitas, kepraktisan,dan  keefektifan LKPD hasil pengembangan pada konsep-konsep dunia mikroba berbasis lahan basah perkotaan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Pengembangan LKPD dilakukan 2 fase;  fase penelitian pendahuluan dan fase prototipe dengan menggunakan desain Tessmer. Validasi isi menggunakan instrumen lembar penilaian validasi. Data kepraktisan isi menggunakan instrumen lembar penilaian terhadap struktur LKPD. Data kepraktisan (harapan dan actual) dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen lembar kepraktisan yang diperoleh dari respon peserta didik terhadap isi LKPD. Data keefektifan (harapan dan aktual) diperoleh berdasarkan hasil KBK, keterampilan inter-personal (kerjasama) dan keterampilan intra-personal (bertanggung jawab). Teknik analisis data dengan menghitung persentase validasi mengacu pada Akbar (2017), uji kepraktisan dan uji keefektifan dengan kriteria mengacu pada Purwanto (2012). Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa LKPD valid, namun LKPD yang dikembangkan praktis digunakan dengan kepraktisan isi dan kepraktisan harapan yang berkategori baik. LKPD dinyatakan efektif  digunakan berdasarkan hasil KBK, keterampilan inter-personal (kerjasama), dan keterampilan intra-personal (teliti) maupun nilai keefektifan harapan juga berkategori baik.

Abstract

Pteridophyta is a sub-concept on Plant (Plantae) material in the Biology subject for Grade X Senior High School. In this competency, students are expected to apply classification principles to classify plants into divisions based on observations of plant morphology and metagenesis and linking their role in the continuity of life on earth. However, most students still find it difficult to understand the concept. This Pteridophyta is due to the lack of local potential-based references that are directly related to student life, one of which is learning media. Learning media is one of the means to help teachers and students learn concepts in Biology more broadly. This encourages researchers to develop learning media in the form of a booklet on the Plantae material sub-concept of ferns (Pteridophyta). This study aims to describe the validity of the booklet developed on the types of ferns (Pteridophyta) on the riverbanks of the Wisata Alam Sungai Kembang. This research uses RandD method with 4D development model to develop learning media in the form of booklets. The results of the validity test of the developed booklet showed very valid results.AbstrakPteridophyta merupakan subkonsep pada materi Tumbuhan (Plantae) di mata pelajaran Biologi SMA Kelas X. Pada kompetensi tersebut siswa diharapkan dapat menerapkan prinsip klasifikasi untuk menggolongkan tumbuhan ke dalam divisio berdasarkan pengamatan morfologi dan metagenesis tumbuhan serta mengaitkan peranannya dalam kelangsungan kehidupan di bumi. Namun kebanyakan siswa masih sulit untuk memahami konsep Pteridophyta tersebut karena masih kurangnya referensi berbasis potensi lokal yang berkaitan langsung dengan kehidupan siswa, salah satunya yaitu media pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran merupakan salah satu sarana untuk membantu guru maupun siswa dalam mempelajari konsep pada Biologi secara lebih luas. Hal tersebut mendorong peneliti untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa booklet subkonsep tumbuhan paku (Pteridophyta). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validitas booklet yang dikembangkan tentang jenis tumbuhan paku (Pteridophyta) di bantaran sungai Wisata Alam Sungai Kembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode RandD dengan model pengembangan 4D untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa booklet. Hasil uji validitas terhadap booklet yang dikembangkan menunjukkan hasil sangat valid.

Abstract

The people of Kandangan Baru Village have traditional wisdom in utilizing plants. The plants are used as medicine or economic materials. One of them is Claoxylon indicum in the Bukit Tamiang Forest, Tanah Laut Regency which can be used as a value of local wisdom for the local community. The purpose of this study was to describe the validity of the ethnobotany scientific work of Indian geranium as supporting material for ethnobotany. This study uses a development research method with the Educational Design Research (EDR) model and formative evaluation of the Tessmer exam. Teaching materials are in the form of a Popular Scientific Book entitled The Ethnobotany Study of Claoxylon indicum Plants in the Bukit Tamiang Forest Area in the expert test by two validators with a score of 94.4% as well as the practicality of the content for the individual test (one to one) by 3 biology education students of FKIP ULM Banjarmasin who had passed the ethnobotany course had very good results with a score of 3.7.Abstrak Masyarakat Desa Kandangan Baru memiliki kearifan tradisional dalam memanfaatkan tumbuhan. Tumbuhan digunakan sebagai obat atau bahan ekonomi. Salah satunya adalah Claoxylon indicum di Hutan Bukit Tamiang Kabupaten Tanah Laut yang dapat dijadikan sebagai nilai kearifan lokal bagi masyarakat setempat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan validitas karya ilmiah etnobotani geranium India sebagai bahan pendukung etnobotani. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan dengan model Educational Design Research (EDR) dan evaluasi formatif ujian Tessmer. Bahan ajar berupa Buku Ilmiah Populer yang berjudul Kajian Etnobotani Tumbuhan Claoxylon indicum di Kawasan Hutan Bukit Tamiang pada uji pakar oleh dua validator memiliki hasil validasi sangat valid dengan skor 94,4% serta hasil kepraktisan isi untuk uji perorangan (one to one) oleh 3 mahasiswa pendidikan biologi FKIP ULM Banjarmasin yang telah lulus mata kuliah etnobotani memiliki hasil sangat baik dengan skor 3,7.

Abstract

Media in biology learning is one of the means so that students understand the concept of biology in a broad sense. This encourages researchers to develop learning media in the form of macroscopic fungi booklets. This study aims to describe the characteristics and identify the types of macroscopic fungi found on the banks of the Kembang River natural tourism river and to describe the results of the validity of the macroscopic fungi booklet on the banks of the Kembang River natural tourism river as a learning medium for high school students. This research uses the descriptive method and 4D development method. The results showed that the characteristics of macroscopic fungi can be seen from the shape of the hood, the surface of the hood, its hymenophores, the shape of the stem, color, presence or absence of annulus and odor, and the type of substrate where the fungus grows. Macroscopic fungi found on the banks of the Sungai Kembang Nature Tourism river are divided by taxon level into 2 divisions, 3 classes, 4 orders, 6 familia, 8 genera, and 17 species. Utilization of research results on types of macroscopic fungi on the banks of the Kembang River natural tourism river is then presented in the form of a booklet (learning media) which gets an average expert validity of 82.10% with very valid criteria and suitable for use as a learning medium.Abstrak Media dalam pembelajaran Biologi merupakan salah satu sarana agar peserta didik memahami konsep pada Biologi secara luas. Hal tersebut mendorong peneliti untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa booklet  materi jamur makroskopis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik dan mengidentikasi jenis jamur makroskopis yang ditemukan di bantaran sungai wisata alam Sungai Kembang serta mendeskripsikan hasil validitas Booklet  jamur makroskopis di bantaran sungai wisata alam Sungai Kembang sebagai media pembelajaran siswa SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dan metode pengembangan model 4D. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik jamur makroskopis dapat dilihat dari bentuk tudung, permukaan tudung, hymenophorenya, bentuk batang, warna, ada tidaknya annulus dan bau, serta jenis substrat tempat tumbuhnya jamur. Jamur makroskopis yang ditemukan di bantaran sungai Wisata Alam Sungai Kembang yang terbagi berdasarkan tingkatan taksonnya menjadi 2 divisio, 3 kelas, 4 Ordo, 6 Familia, 8 genus, dan 17 species. Pemanfaatan hasil penelitian jenis-jenis jamur makroskopis di bantaran sungai wisata alam Sungai Kembang kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk booklet  (media pembelajaran) yang mendapat hasil rata-rata validitas ahli 82,10% dengan kriteria sangat valid dan layak digunakan sebagai salah satu media belajar.
