Abstract

The art of chisel mask is developed in Tumpang Malang area as part of dance costume fairs, puppet show andcultural ritual, although in its development, this mask sculpture is also sold and become a tourism commodity. The potentialsales of mask sculptures is increasing, especially because of the demanders are foreign tourists, cultural enthusiasts andcomponent of tourism activities. That is, Topeng Malangan has the potential to be developed as an export commodity. Thesales system is still limited to cultural events or when there is a visit of education and tourism to the arts-padepokan. Thisprompted some people around the padepokan to start a home industry to meet the availability of the mask. In general, theproblems encountered by the craftsmen are (1) availability of raw materials, especially for suitable wood species, (2)production equipment, especially for pre-carving process and preservation of product, (3) there is no standard marketingscheme, (4) does not have a business management system, and (5) highly skilled craftsmen are still very limited. The solutionsoffered are divided into three stages: (1) technological strengthening, including strengthening production process technologyand increasing the number of craftsmen; (2) establishing business management; and (3) establishing trademarks, copyrightsand product marketing expansions

Abstract

Chili (capsium annum L) is an important horticulture commodity. The availability of water is one of the supporting factors for the chili crop production system. Meeting the water needs of chili greatly affects its growth. One obstacle for farmers is managing time when processing land. Farmers spend a lot of time watering and fertilizing plants. This has an impact on the time efficiency of farmers to cultivate other land and clear weeds. The design development of a plant irrigation system using soil moisture sensors can be an alternative solution. This system is capable of automatically watering and detecting the availability of water for watering. The control system used is Arduino Uno as the main controller. From the automated design mindset, it can be said that it is possible to carry out an automation process on the work of watering chili plants. The problem of adequate water in the dry season can be overcome based on controlling the amount of water spray, which is adjusted to the soil moisture sensor readings. As for other problems that need to be studied, related to the system of controlling soil moisture during the rainy season. This problem can be assessed by reference to a soil moisture based watering control system that might also be combined with a soil dryer / dryer system. This can be developed into the next appropriate technology as a community service work.

Abstract

Kecamatan Gandusari, kabupaten Trenggalek, Jawa Timur, sejak lama terkenal sebagai pusat produksibarang-barang kerajinan berbahan dasar bambu. Dusun Nglaban, Desa Karanganyar, dikenal sebagai penghasil sangkar burung dan ayam. Harga sangkar burung dengan kualitas biasa adalah Rp 10.000, yang halus Rp 15.000. Untuk sangkar ayam mulai dari Rp 15.000 ? Rp 25.000, tergantung dari kualitasnya. Saat ini harga bahan baku maupun produk hasil sudah berkembang sekitar 300% dan muncul pengrajin-pengrajin sangkar burung khusus untuk burung berkicau. Sangkar jenis ini biasanya memiliki nilai seni sehingga tingkat kerumitan pembuatannya lebih tinggi. Harganya bisa mencapai 5 kali harga sangkar burung biasa. Peluang inilah yang dibidik mitra IbM. Sebagaimana umumnya usaha mikro, kecil dan menengah, mitra IbM tidak memiliki sistem manajemen usaha sama sekali. Mereka mendasarkan usahanya pada pola kebutuhan keluarga dan menggabungkan keuangan usaha dengan keuangan usaha tanpa sistem pencatatan. Target kegiatan yang diajukan untuk membantu permasalahan mitra adalah konsultasi usaha untuk mengembangkan sistem menejemen dasar, bantuan peralatan tepat guna, dan pengembangan sistem pemasaran. Dengan kegiatan ini diharapkan kedua mitra bisa merintis terbentuknya kelompok pengrajin ruji dupa dan sangkar burung yang khas. Dalam masa 3 bulan pelaksanaan kegiatan, produk teknologi tepat guna sudah bisa berfungsi sempurna. Kapasitas produksi meningkat pesat dari semula rata-rata 1000 batang diselesaikan dalam sehari (8 jam kerja)menjadi hanya satu jam saja. Peningkatan kapasitas produksi ini masih terserap pangsa pasar sepenuhnya. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya ketersediaan pangsa pasar yang cukup tinggi untuk diraih. Kendala utama yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah pada 1) aspek peralatan tepat guna yang memerlukan modifikasi desain, penyesuaian pola kerja dan ukuran bahan baku terhadap kondisi kerja mesin; pelatihan dan pembiasaan operator terhadap sistem kerja mesin; serta pelatihan metode perawatan mesin, 2) keengganan mitra untuk memulai sistem manajemen sederhana, 3) keengganan mitra untuk mengembangkan metode pemasaran. Kendala pertama telah bisa diatasi dengan baik, sementara kendala kedua dan ketiga sedang diupayakan penanganannya.

Abstract

Singosari District, Malang Regency, which is located at the foot of the mountain, is an area that has many water sources. This activity is carried out to identify problems and potentials that can endanger this natural resource. Activities are carried out by direct visits to 3 source locations. The results of the visit showed that around the location there were still many trees to support water sources. Utilization by the community can cause potential environmental damage in the form of non-organic waste. Community service activities can be carried out in the form of educating the community.

Abstract

Production control is an important aspect in a company. Control management is carried out as an effort to reduce and prevent product failures or defects. The purpose of writing this article is to review production failures through product quality control. The results of the review can be used as a situational analysis study for community service activities, especially for industrial engineering. The review is carried out by searching the literature for national publications over the last 10 years. The summary of the research is carried out by grouping based on the category of control method used, the field of study or product being studied and the results of the research. The results of the analysis show that the FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) method is widely used in case studies in manufacturing companies. Further research can be carried out to compare the application of the method to similar case studies. Community service activities in this field can be directed to implement the FMEA method for target partners for types of businesses that carry out production processes, goods, and services.

Abstract

Sumber Nagan is one of the water sources located in Gunungrejo Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency. This water source has cultural and religious values. The main use of this water source is for bathing, and drinking water sources. Some residents also use the overflow of water to wash. So far, Nagan Source has not been seen as one economic potential. When the PKM Team of Widyagama University of Malang has completed the repair of physical facilities in Sumber Nagan, there are positive comments from visitors and the user community regarding comfort. This turned out to cause side effects in the form of business land disputes among local residents. This phenomenon is discussed in this article because in general this kind of thing does not appear in community service activities. The results of the analysis show that the general assumptions compiled above the perception that the results of activities are things that should be enjoyed together, need to be reviewed. The situational analysis of partners needs to be extended to their potential social impact.

Abstract

Community service is the activity of a lecturer in carrying out the tridharma obligations of higher education. Likewise with lecturers with a background in mechanical engineering. The aim of preparing this article is to obtain the results of a review of community service activities in the field of mechanical engineering. The review was prepared based on the results of a library search of publications on community service activities. The references obtained are then categorized based on the type of partner business, number of partners and form of activity. The results of the review show that there are five types of business in the field of mechanical engineering, where welding workshops are the ones with the most activity partners. Technical training is the most common form of activity. The results of this review can be a consideration for those implementing community service activities in the field of mechanical engineering to design activities that have high novelty value.
