Abstract

Abstrak: Sulitnya mencari literatur bahasa asing di perpustakaan menjadi masalah bagi mahasiswa departemen bahasa asing dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi akademiknya. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini secara umum adalah untuk mengetahui perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Asing Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya. Tujuan khusus penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui informasi apa yang diperlukan mahasiswa DPBA, (2) untuk mengetahui asal sumber informasi mahasiswa DPBA, (3) untuk mengetahui perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa DPBA, dan (4) untuk mengetahui hambatan yang timbul dalam melakukan pencarian informasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan model studi kasus. Penentuan subjek penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling.  Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah 12 mahasiswa dari enam departemen bahasa asing yang berbeda yakni Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Arab, Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang, Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman, Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis, Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Korea, dan Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan analisis data yang telah dilakukan peneliti, maka hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa membutuhkan informasi berupa buku penunjang seperti buku teks, modul, video dan rekaman, literatur mengenai kebudayaan, kesusastraan, dan tata bahasa. Sumber informasi yang digunakan mahasiswa adalah ruang baca, buku, internet, dan sumber manusia. Kemudian, perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa adalah dengan starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, extracting, verifying, dan ending, serta hambatan internal dan eksternal yang dialami mahasiswa. Kata Kunci : Kebutuhan Informasi, Perilaku Pencarian Informasi, Sumber Informasi Abstract. Based on the result of observation, the students of foreign language departements find the dificulty for finding foreign languages literature. It becomes a main problem for them to fulfill their information needs, especially for supporting their academic needs. Generally, this research aims to determine the information seeking behavior of foreign language departement' students. Meanwhile, the specific purposes of this research are 1) determining types of information those are needed by the students of DFLE, 2) finding the sources of information those are needed by them, 3) knowing the information seeking behavior of DFLE students, and 4) determining the obstacles when seking information. This research is done by using descriptive qualitative and case sudy model.. Purposive sampling is used for selecting informants. There are twelve informants from six different foreign language departements, those are departement of arabic language education, departement of japanese language education, departemen of germanic language education, departement of french language education, departement of korean language education, and departement of english language education. Interview and document study are chosen as techniques of collecting data. The result shows that text books, module, video and record, literature about cultures and grammar are kind of library collection those are needed by them. Reading room, books, and internet, and human explanation are the sources they used to get information. The information seeking behavior of students are starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, extracting, verifying, and ending. Barrier of seeking information come from internal and external.Keywords : Information Needs, Information Seeking Behavior, Information Sources

Abstract

Abstract. This research is motivated by the development of information and communication technology (ICT) in the library world so rapidly that allows libraries in the present to develop its services into digital-based services. This study aims to find out the school community’s perception of library apps developed by Riche Cynthia Johan, Hana Silvana, and Holin Sulistyo and its influence on library empowerment at the library of SD Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung. Library apps in this research belong to the context of m-libraries, which is a library that meets the needs of its users by using mobile platforms such as smartphones,computers, and other mobile devices. Empowerment of library is the utilization of all aspects of the implementation of libraries to the best in order to achieve the expected goals. An analysis of the schoolcommunity’s perception of library apps using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) includes: ease of use, usefulness, usability, usage trends, and real-use conditions. While the empowerment of the library includes aspects: information empowerment, empowerment of learning resources, empowerment of human resources, empowerment of library facilities, and library promotion. The research method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative approach. Population and sample in this research is school community at SD Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung. Determination of sample criteria by using disproportionate stratified random sampling with the number of samples of 83 respondents. Data analysis using simple linear regression to measure the influence of school community perception about library apps to library empowerment. The result of data analysis shows that there is influence between school community perception about library apps to library empowerment at library of SD Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung which is proved by library acceptance level and library empowerment improvement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh banyaknya informasi hoax yang tersebar di media sosial  instagram yang menuntut kita untuk dapat menentukan dan memilih informasi yang akurat, serta masih rendahnya kemampuan literasi media yang  dimiliki pemustaka. Masalah yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah terdapat hubungan antara pemanfaatan media sosial instagram dengan kemampuan literasi media pemustaka UPT Perpustakaan Institut Teknologi Nasional. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara pemanfaatan media sosial instagram dengan kemampuan literasi media pemustaka UPT Perpustakaan Institut Teknologi Nasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pemustaka  di UPT Perpustakaan Institut Teknologi Nasional dengan  jumlah 9.818 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah proportionate stratified random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 99 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif korelasional, dan analisis data  menggunakan korelasi spearman rank. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner tertututp dengan skala empat kategori Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang kuat dan signifikan antara pemanfaatan media sosial instagram dan kemampuan literasi media. Secara khusus hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran pemanfaatan media sosial instagram berada pada kategori sangat baik dan gambaran kemampuan literasi media berada pada kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) prioritas tujuan terhadap pengembangan OPAC ramah anak; (2) kondisi lapangan terkait pengembangan OPAC ramah anak; (3) kesenjangan (discrepancy) antara harapan dan kondisi terkait pengembangan OPAC ramah anak; (4) prioritas kebutuhan yang paling mendesak, layak dan patut dilaksanakan di Perpustakaan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Perpusdikbud). Penjaringan data dilakukakan melalui wawancara pada bulan Desember 2020 terhadap pustakawan-pustakawan Perpusdikbud, hasil pengumpulan data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pengembangan OPAC ramah anak belum dijadikan suatu prioritas kebutuhan; (2) pustakawan sadar penuh terhadap pentingnya perkembangan literasi digital anak namun tingkat kondisi kebutuhan layanan dan koleksi digital khusus anak dapat dikatakan masih rendah; (3) kesenjangan terdiri dari aspek keputusan pimpinan, aspek sistem dan perangkat yang dibutuhkan dalam pengembangan OPAC ramah anak hingga SDM pengembangnya, faktor dana atau pengeluaran yang diperlukan, faktor jumlah koleksi, jumlah pengunjung dan tingkat literasinya, serta adaptasi dengan metode pembelajaran untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada anak mengenai OPAC tersebut; (4) prioritas kebutuhan yang paling layak dan patut dilaksanakan oleh Perpusdikbud untuk saat ini yaitu perjenjangan koleksi anak. Hasil penelitian yang dapat disimpulkan bahwa kebutuhan pengembangan OPAC ramah anak di Perpusdikbud belum menjadi suatu suatu prioritas pada saat ini.

Abstract

The development of technology and information has led to the emergence of many media that can be used as information sources, including social media. Twitter has started an automatic base (autobase) system with has automenfess feature. This study aims to see the level of users' ability and the use of autobase as an information retrieval system. Respondents were users or followers of the @collegemenfess Twitter account. This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis. The data were obtained through an online survey of 70 followers of the @collegemenfess account. The study found that users' ability level was in the intermediate user category and the use of information retrieval system on this autobase was to send messages with a certain format which then that message will be a confession mention.

Abstract

In the 21st century, continuous innovation and adaptation in every component of learning is required in education, both in the competency component, material content, strategy and media, as well as its evaluation. This study emphasized the development of an electronic or digital module in the information behavior course, it is one of the courses regarding the characteristics of the student activity level that accommodates information retrieval and strives to use appropriate information. The e-module design is developed utilize the 4D model by define, design, develop and disseminate. The participants of this research involved media experts, material experts and students of the Library and Information Science study program at two universities, which are are Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and Universitas Negeri Malang, there are 20 people in total who used e-modules in limited dissemination on information behavior course. This research revealed the electronic module in the course, the emphasis of the module content design which is enriched with digital-based information sources or in another word called as hyper content that becomes a differentiator in presenting the module content, coupled with the power of audio and visual media or called as screencast. Through this research, lecturers able to prepare independent learning materials by utilizing digital technology.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to find out what information is needed by the teacher in supporting teaching and learning activities, to find out the use of Internet-based information sources, and to find out the obstacles that arise in searching information what is done to overcome obstacles in conducting information searches. The method used in this study is a descriptive method. The Informant in this study were teachers of SD Laboratorium School, Indonesia University of Education. The results of the study found that the information needs of teachers were four aspects. Aspects of learning planning, information needs include RPP planning, teacher learning objectives, competencies, indicators, and material scope. Content or material aspects or learning experiences of information needs include student characteristics, forms of learning activities, learning strategies, and learning outcome evaluation tools. The aspects of choosing learning strategies and methods of information needs include learning objectives, students' initial knowledge, student characteristics, time allocation, supporting facilities, and the surrounding situation. The aspect of media selection, information needs include learning objectives, material scope, student characteristics, supporting features and technological development. Obstacles in information retrieval include time, ICT skills, weak and lazy search techniques.

Abstract

Introduction. The three main aspects to improve literacy movement are family, school, and society. Using social media could be useful to improve literacy as many reading materials can be accessed and freely available. However, the content should be selected to prevent from unexpected materials. Data Collection Method. Data obtained through observations of 100 participants in the development of community literacy movement. They were religious education community (pesantren) with professions such as, teachers, education staffs and students’ representatives from two levels of education within the reading village frameworks in Tanjungmekar village, Tanjungkerta, Sumedang. Analysis Data. Data were analyzed using descriptive percentage studies, and describing the results of observations. Result and Discussions. The community accesses reading material dominant using printed material, reading assignment and communication through social media have not done as expected. In general, the activities of fostering literacy in the religious education community require patterns that are in accordance with time, motivation, access, technological devices, various social media to foster literacy readiness. Conclusions. Alternative use of social media is expected be able to support community movement to build the literate village.

Abstract

Introduction. This study aims to explore effects of bubble filter and echo chamber on information searching behaviour on the internet, how it affects the scope of the internet ecosystem and users, and what we can see from the behaviour. Data Collection Method. The paper used a mixed-methods approach with surveys, online discussions, and literature research. Twenty respondents between 19-21 years old participated in this exploratory study. Analysis Data. Data was obtained and calculations have automatically accumulated through Google Form. The user data analysis and discussion were conducted manually by considering aspects of rationality concerning the literature and previous research. Results and Discussions. The analysis results obtained were bubble filter and echo chambers were proven to affect internet users both in positive and negative ways. Conclusions. Bubble filter and echo chamber may have both positive and negative effects simultaneously, however, it depends on the user because the system has provided control features to reduce both features. Using internet wisely is also parts of the important aspect.

Abstract

Permasalahan pokok yang dikaji pada penelitian ini adalah bagaimana mengembangkan video konten pembelajaran MKDK Kurikulum Pembelajaran (Kurpem) dengan melibatkan mahasiswa untuk terlaksananya pembelajaran smart classrooM. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan proses kolaborasi dosen dan mahasiswa dalam merencanakan pembelajaran MKDK Kurpem agar menghasilkan video konten pembelajaran yang berkualitas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian time series design. Responden penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Dosen dan mahasiswa berkolaborasi merancang pembelajaran yang aktif, kreatif, dan efektif. Penilaian proses pembelajaran MKDK kurpem meliputi tiga tahapan kegiatan yang dinilai, tahapan kegiatan pertama adalah kegiatan pendahuluan, tahapan kegiatan kedua adalah kegiatan inti, dan tahapan kegiatan ketiga adalah kegiatan penutupan. kegiatan pendahuluan berada pada skor sangat baik. Proses pembelajaran MKDK Kurikulum dan Pembelajaran, pada tahapan kegiatan kedua, atau kegiatan inti berada pada skor baik. pada tahapan kegiatan terhakhir, atau kegiatan penutup berada pada skor sangat baik.  Collaboration of Student Lecturers in Developing Video Learning Content MKDK Curriculum & Learning To Support Smart Classroom. The main issues studied in this research are: "how to implement the video content learning MKDK Kurpem by involving students for the implementation of smart classroom learning?". This research was conducted with the aim of describing the process of collaboration of lecturers and students in planning the learning of MKDK Kurpem to produce quality learning content video. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental research method with time series design research design. Respondents of this research are students of English Education Study Program. The course of MKDK curriculum and learning (Kurpem) will develop a video learning content to meet the material needs of the smart classroom learning. In order to develop this content video more effectively in its implementation will involve students. Lecturers and students will collaborate together to design an active, creative, and effective learning process in conducting the learning process of MKDK Kurpem which will be published in the form of learning video, so it is expected to be used as a prototype in implementing learning related to MKDK Kurpem material.
