Abstract

Kesehatan mulut merupakan komponen integral dari kesehatan umum. Hal ini juga menjadi jelas bahwa faktor-faktor penyebab dan risiko penyakit mulut sering sama dengan yang terlibat dalam penyakit umum. Kesehatan secara keseluruhan, kesejahteraan, pendidikan dan pengembangan anak, keluarga dan masyarakat dapat dipengaruhi oleh kesehatan mulut. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut anak. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah dan tanya jawab yang dilakukan mahasiswi kepada anak-anak SD Swasta Muhammadiyah Desa Panobasan. Pada kegiatan ini kami melihat anak-anak antusias mengikuti penyuluhan mengenai Kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Anak-anak yang sedikit kurang memahami materi yang disampaikan sehingga perlu bantuan alat peraga untuk mempraktekkan nya secara langsung. Anak perlu mendapatkan informasi tentang kesehatan gigi agar bisa menerapkan perilaku hidup sehat.

Abstract

Angka kematian akibat kanker serviks di Indonesia disebabkan karena 95% wanita usia subur (WUS) tidak menjalani pemeriksaan secara dini sehingga menyebabkan keterlambatan diagnosis dari kanker serviks dan menurunkan harapan hidup wanita. Tingginya kasus kanker serviks disebabkan oleh kurangnya pengetahuan dan juga kesadaran untuk melakukan deteksi dini seperti pemeriksaan IVA (Inspeksi Visual Asam Asetat) sehingga kanker serviks baru ditemukan pada stadium lanjut. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap WUS melakukan IVA test. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan informasi tentang IVA dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 18 orang. Hasil evaluasi selama proses kegiatan berlangsung diperoleh seluruh peserta memahami tentang skrinning kanker serviks dengan pemeriksaan IVA. Diharapkan pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu sehingga berminat melakukan IVA pada WUS

Abstract

The use of food additives (BTP) in the food production process needs to be watched out together, both by producers and by consumers. The impact of its use can have positive or negative consequences for society. Deviation in its use will endanger us together, especially the younger generation as the successor of nation development. This community service program aims to provide knowledge to students about food additives that are harmful to health and encourage students to consume foods that do not contain harmful chemicals. The target of the extension activities is the students of SDN 200514 in Labuhan Labo Village. Based on preliminary investigations, students did not know the dangers of food containing hazardous chemicals such as rhodamine B dye, borax preservative, MSG flavoring and artificial sweeteners. It cannot be denied that everyone, especially schoolchildren, really likes food snacks. Therefore, traders strive to give children an attractive appearance and taste by using certain ingredients regardless of safety. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out activities that include counseling about food additives that are harmful to health. This activity has contributed to improving the level of public health, especially for children to adolescents since they were in elementary school.

Abstract

Hand sanitizer is an alcohol-based hand sanitizer product that can be in the form of a gel or liquid. Hand sanitizer can instantly kill germs without using water, can be used anytime and anywhere, for example after handling money, before eating and after eating. Hand sanitizer is an alternative to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus because it contains alcohol and other substances that can kill viruses that stick to the hands, especially in the area of ​​​​the hands. The form of hand sanitizer itself varies, ranging from gel, spray, to foam. The requirement for a hand sanitizer to be effective in killing germs and viruses is that it contains at least 60% alcohol. This community service program aims to distribute and implement hand washing with hand sanitizers in an effort to prevent covid-19 in the Aek Tampang village, South Padangsidimpuan District. The target of the outreach activities is the entire community in Environment III, Aek Tampang Village, South Padangsidimpuan District. The expected result of this service is that the community accepts and implements the use of Hand Sanitizer as a practical step for washing hands to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Abstract

Introduction: Citrus fruits can be processed into various types of preparations that are very useful. Sweet orange (Citrus X sinensis) is a type of orange that is consumed by squeezing it into a drink. So far, sweet orange peels (Citrus X sinensis) have not been fully utilized and become waste that is thrown away. Meanwhile, the peels of citrus fruits have useful content, so that the peels of citrus fruits can be processed into products that are useful for the community. Wet sweet orange peel is better to use than dried sweet orange peel. This is because the sweet orange peel contains essential oils which have not completely evaporated so that the oil can be taken directly. Method: This research is a laboratory-based experimental study. Results: From the analysis, it was found that the water content of sweet orange peel was 75.5%. The results of data analysis showed that the highest oil yield was obtained using the soxhletation method for 12 hours using 6.15% hexane as a solvent, 4.89% ethanol as a solvent, and 1.67% aquadest as a solvent. When compared to these three solvents, hexane solvent is more effective than ethanol and aquadest. It shows that in general the essential oil from lime peel produced is still within the range of essential oil quality standards based on ISO 3519:2005. Conclusion: In this study, the best solvent was hexane. The sweet orange peel essential oil produced has a greenish yellow color for hexane and aquadest solvents and yellowish green for ethanol solvents. The essential oil produced has a density of 0.8580 g/cm3.

Abstract

Introduction: Essential oil is also known as ethereal oil or flying oil (ethereal oil, volatile oil) produced by plants. The oil is volatile at room temperature without decomposition, has a bitter taste, smells good according to the smell of the plant that produces it, is generally soluble in organic solvents and insoluble in water. At high concentrations, essential oils can be used as local anesthetics, for example clove oil is used to treat toothaches, but can damage mucous membranes. Most essential oils also have strong antibacterial and antifungal properties. Methods: This research is a laboratory-based experimental study. Results: Based on the specific gravity test, the tested lemongrass oil has good quality because it meets the requirements of the Indonesian National Standard, namely the specific gravity must be in the range of 0.880 - 0.922. From the tests carried out twice (duplo) the results obtained were in that range with the value in the first Conclusion: The density of citronella oil is 0.8800 and the test sample meets the requirements of SNI. The solubility in ethanol of citronella oil is 1: 2 clear, the test sample meets the requirements of SNI.

Abstract

Indonesia people generally consume boiled water of herbal plants to prevent or treat various diseases. To make it easier for people to consume herbal plants, one of which is in the form of tea. How to consume tea is very easy and practical, just by brewing it with hot water. The purpose of this research was to identify secondary metabolites contained in soursop leaf tea and to determine the characteristics of soursop leaf tea which included organoleptic tests, water content tests and ash content tests. This research is a true experiment in the laboratory. The results showed that the characteristics of soursop leaf tea (Annona muricata L) include organoleptic, soursop leaf tea has a brownish green color, powder form and has a soursop leaf aroma. The soursop leaves have water content and ash content respectively are 1.111% and 0.6444%. Soursop leaf tea positively contains secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins and saponins

Abstract

Pemutihan kulit merupakan pemutihan lapisan epidermis melalui aplikasi buatan sendiri, produk kosmetik atau dermatologis. Namun, ternyata terdapat zat berbahaya yang digunakan pada kosmetik pemutih kulit.Oleh sebab itu, berdasarkan fakta yang telah dipaparkan maka artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mengetahui zat yang berbahaya yang terdapat pada krim pemutih.Metode penelitian yag digunakan adalah literature review, diperoleh hasil penelitian bahwa dalam krim pencerah kulit ini biasanya ditambahkan satu atau lebih bahan aktif yang bersifat mencerahkan. Efek mencerahkan ini biasanya berasal dari aktivitas bahan tersebut yang dapat menghambat proses pembentukan melanin maupun melindungi dari paparan sinar UV. Namun, bahan aktif yang ditambahkan ke dalam krim tersebut, ada yang aman dan ada pula yang berbahaya bagi kesehatan manusia.Telah dilakukan banyak penelitian yang menemukan bahaya bahan-bahan tersebut pada manusia. Beberapa di antara bahan berbahaya tersebut adalah logam seperti Hg,Pb, Ni, Co, Cr, Cd, As, Sb, hidrokuinon, titanium dioksida dan kortikosteroid.

Abstract

Penurunan stunting penting dilakukan sedini mungkin untuk menghindari dampak jangka panjang yang merugikan seperti terhambatnya tumbuh kembang anak. Anak stunting berisiko lebih tinggi menderita penyakit kronis di masa dewasanya. Salah satu intervensi yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah stunting adalah meningkatkan asupan gizi utama Protein dengan memanfaatkan potensi sumber daya alam setempat, misalnya ikan yang kaya akan zat gizi Protein dan asam lemak esensial yang baik bagi kesehatan, diantaranya untuk membentuk dan membangun jaringan tubuh, berperan dalam proses pertumbuhan dan perkembangan manusia. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat utamanya Ibu rumah tangga dalam mengolah ikan sehingga dapat menjadi alternatif makanan yang sehat untuk Balita dan juga keluarganya.

Abstract

Endometriosis didefinisikan sebagai suatu kondisi adanya epitel endometrium dan atau sel stroma di luar kavum uterus. Infertilitas adalah gejala yang relatif umum pada pasien dengan endometriosis. Sayangnya, banyak perempuan sering mengalami keterlambatan diagnosis endometriosis yang mengakibatkan kesakitan yang tidak perlu dan penurunan kualitas hidup. Pemberian penyuluhan kesehatan tentang penyakit endometriosis diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran perempuan sejak masuk usia reproduktif tentang bahaya endometriosis dan dapat segera memeriksakan diri ketika mengalami tanda dan gejala endometriosis. Bentuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah penyuluhan kesehatan tentang endometriosis. Penyuluhan Kesehatan dilakukan untuk menjelaskan secara mendalam tentang endometriosis, termasuk penyebab, gejala, diagnosis, pengobatan, dan dampaknya pada kehidupan sehari-hari. Penyuluhan dilakukan kepada siswi SMK Negeri 4 Kota Sebanyak 30 siswa perempuan kelas XI menjadi peserta penyuluhan kesehatan. Penyuluhan dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, dan tanya jawab. Dengan Adanya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan terhadap siswa perempuan kelas XI, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyuluhan kesehatan tentang endometriosis ini terbukti dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta penyuluhan tentang endometriosis. Abstract Endometriosis is defined as a condition of the presence of endometrial epithelium and/or stromal cells outside the uterine cavity. Infertility is a relatively common symptom in patients with endometriosis. Unfortunately, many women often experience late diagnosis of endometriosis which results in unnecessary pain and reduced quality of life. Providing health education about endometriosis is expected to increase women's awareness from the time they enter reproductive age about the dangers of endometriosis and that they can immediately check themselves when they experience signs and symptoms of endometriosis. The form of community service activity carried out is health education about endometriosis. Health education is carried out to explain in depth about endometriosis, including causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and its impact on daily life. Counseling was carried out to female students at SMK Negeri 4 Kota. A total of 30 female students from class XI participated in the health education.
