Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah kemampuan yang dimiliki oleh setiap individu untuk menyelesaikan sebuah masalah dengan berfokus kepada proses dan langkah-langkah yang diambil secara teliti yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Salah satu strategi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan Berpikir Kritis siswa adalah strategi pembelajaran Means-Ends Analysis (MEA) yang merupakan suatu strategi untuk menganalisis permasalahan melalui berbagai cara untuk mencapai tujuan akhir yang diinginkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya dan bagaimanakah pengaruh penerapan Strategi Means-Ends Analysis (MEA) dalam pembelajaran matematika terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah tes, dimana respondennya sebanyak 14 orang. Sedangkan untuk analisis data penulis menggunakan Product Moment dan diperoleh r kerja lebih besar dari harga kritik r yakni , sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Dari hasil analisi data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa: Penerapan strategi Means-Ends Analysis (MEA) dalam pembelajaran Matematika berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA Al Hayyan Karduluk Kec. Pragaan Kab. Sumenep Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 Strategi Means-Ends Analysis (MEA) sangat berpengaruh khususnya pada pemecahan masalah yang unik/tidak seperti biasanya.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) how the application of Blog-Gothic as an interactive learning media in Analytical Geometry course (2) the response of students to the use of Blog-Gothic as an interactive learning media in the course of Analytical Geometry. This blog utilization is expected to produce a significant influence, which is in addition to aiming to improve student learning outcomes, it is also expected to help students wisely utilize the internet to find material lectures, discuss difficulties in certain subjects and increase creativity in writing. In addition, lecturers are also easier to monitor the progress of their students through their Blogs or by visiting student Blogs. It is also expected to be able to overcome the diversity of the ability to ask and argue and also can be a solution to the lack of face-to-face hours of lectures. This research is a quantitative research with the use of quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental. Subjects are given an initial test and then given Blog-based learning and then given a final test to find out the improvement in learning outcomes. Observations, questionnaires and interviews were conducted to obtain student response data on Blog-Gothic usage.

Abstract

Error may appear when students put the English grammatical incorrectly. Errors is mostly occurred in English as the foreign or second language. The aim of this study is describing kinds of errors are made by the seventh semester students of English department in Madura University on the use of simple past tense in a translated narrative text. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The subject is seventh semester students of English department which consist of 15 students. The instruments used is translating test. The data is analyzed by collecting the data from students, identifying the errors based on its grammatical errors, classifying them into errors classification, and calculated them into percentage. The results showed that the students' errors can be classified into four kinds of errors, which are 25% for omission errors, 5.36% for addition errors, 62.5% for missed formation errors, and 7.14% for missed ordering errors. There are total 56 errors occurred which is dominated by missed ordering errors. The teachers recommended to make a clear understanding related to differentiate grammatical differences between Indonesia and English. Further, students need to practice it more often. The other researchers can provide techniques to increase students’ English grammatical understanding, especially in simple past tense usage.

Abstract

English Mathematics course mostly deals with comprehension questions, grammar and vocabulary related to the field of Mathematics. The goal is that students have the confidence in communicating using English as well as utilize various sources of English teaching materials. But in reality, they usually experience several problems as the medium of instruction changes from their mother tongue to another language. This phenomenon in the case of Mathematics education brings the consequences faced by Mathematics educators. This paper describes the understanding of Mathematical concepts in English textbooks (Fraction) on the students of English Mathematics Study Course of Mathematics Education of Madura University. The data that used in this research is the result of the translation scripts of students at the Mathematics education department on the fractional concepts in English textbooks, observations on the student presentation and interviews. The result of this research are, Subjects still have not been able to understand the meaning of fractions that are linked in real objects and clear Mathematical models, subjects still used word-for-word translation, translating without providing meaningful information and also lack of vocabulary.

Abstract

Dictation is one of techniques in learning foreign language. Understanding dictation is not always easy for students. An English lecturer should choose suitable techniques to teach them in order not to make students bored because she is one of the factors that determines whether the teaching learning process will be successful or not. The lecturer has to be able to apply various techniques in teaching English because the students prefer listening and writing an easy text. So, the lecturer can use correction techniques like shadow dictation and passing the buck.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine student responses to English Mathematics lectures using the silent way method and also to determine students' speaking skills when the method was applied. Aspects assessed from speaking skill include grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, and pronunciation. This study uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods which aim to see the responses and learning outcomes of students in the form of speaking skills using English mathematics with Integer and Fractions material. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the responses and speaking skills of students in English mathematics lectures on the topic of integers and fractions at Madura University are generally good. The response given by students to lectures with this method is positive. Meanwhile, the speaking ability score which includes 5 aspects is also good, namely the students' grammar mastery of 35.9% who got a score of 3 in the very good category, vocabulary mastery of 47.2% in the very good category, and 41.5% of the comprehension mastery with very good category, fluency mastery of 20.7% in very good category, mastery of pronunciation indicator by 16.2% in very good category.

Abstract

One of the four competencies that teachers and lecturers must possess is professional competence. A lecturer must be able to master and develop material in accordance with the field of science that is taught and can take advantage of advances in technology, information, and communication (ICT) as a communication medium that supports teaching and learning activities. Similarly for students who have the ability to ask questions and argue differently. Students only give a little bit solution to the problem given due to the lack of media to express themselves in asking freely without feeling embarrassed and the limitations of face-to-face hours. Blog media as one of the learning media through the internet or media interaction between students and lecturers. The use of this media as an alternative in overcoming the limitations of face-to-face hours during lectures and of course utilizing the progress of information and communication technology that is developing at this time. The blog in question is given the name of a gothic blog as a learning center which includes lecture plans, teaching materials, assignments of reference links, videos and discussion material on the subject of analytical geometry. In addition, there are lecturer and student blogs to interact with each other. There is also a community of learning bloggers that allows interaction and communication between lecturers and students as well as from various universities to join the blogger learning community.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap metode pembelajaran brainstorming dengan soal open-ended dan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh metode pembelajaran brainstorming dengan soal open-ended terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Proppo pada tanggal 26 maret sampai 4 april 2018 di kelas VII D sebanyak 25 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII C sebanyak 25 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu lembar angket respon siswa dan tes. Sedangkan analisis datanya menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: (1) respon siswa dalam mengikuti metode pembelajaran brainstorming dengan soal open ended dengan rata-rata persentase respon siswa ≥ 60 % kategori dianggap positif; (2) ada pengaruh penerapan metode pembelajaran brainstorming dengan soal open-ended terhadap hasil belajar siswa yang menunjukkan bahwa

This Community Benefit (PKM) points to make strides English dialect abilities through the TOEFL educating program for Al-Amien Bugih Tall School understudies. Abstract

The Community Service (PkM) activity carried out by the Madura University PKM team with the theme "Changing literacy culture into a learning environment at SDS Al-Amien Pamekasan Pamekasan" was carried out by the Madura University community service team involving teachers to learn more about the dynamics and growth of reading gardens to then further encourage the reading tradition or the reading culture of the community. society to develop as students in modern times in the future.  The activity which lasted for three days succeeded in providing soft skills and motivation to teachers and students of SDS Al-Amien Pamekasan. The proposal for this training is the need for all parties to participate in supporting the program so that the younger generation in particular and the community have a literacy culture and become learners in all the developments of life to grow bigger. In addition to deep motivation for the younger generation and society, it is also important for students to be able to fulfill their potential by developing a reading culture, especially how to read and deliver literary works effectively. This positive activity became a real work among students who were born from a love of reading
