Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan a) apakah ada hubungan antara perilaku motivasi siswa terhadap hasil pemahaman membaca mereka dan b) apa jenis perilaku motivasi yang paling mempengaruhi terhadap hasil pemahaman membaca siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Sasaran penelitian ini sebanyak 26 siswa kelas dua SMAN 1 Pringsewu. Tes kuesioner dan membaca digunakan sebagai alat untuk pengambilan data. Analisis data menggunakan program statistik untuk ilmu sosial (SPSS) versi 16.0. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara perilaku motivasi siswa terhadap hasil pemahaman membaca siswa dan attention merupakan jenis perilaku motivasi siswa yang paling mempengaruhi terhadap hasil pemahaman membaca siswa. Dapat disarankan bahwa perilaku motivasi berperan penting didalam pemahaman membaca siswa.The aims of this study were to find out a) the correlation between students motivational behavior and their reading comprehension and b) what kind of motivational behavior mostly influences students reading comprehension. This research was quantitative research. The subjects of this research were 26 second grade students of SMAN 1 Pringsewu. The Questionnaire and reading tests were administrated as the instrument. The data were analyzed by using statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 16.0. The result showed that there was a significant correlation between the students, motivational behavior and their reading comprehension with the significant level 0.000.05. Attention, as a part of motivational behavior, provides the most contribution to students reading comprehension. This suggests that motivational behavior plays an important role in reading comprehension.Keywords: correlation, motivational behavior, reading comprehension

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu perbedaan dari motivasi belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah penerapan dari materi-materi yang autentik dan pembelajaran campuran. Desain dari penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan motivasi belajar siswa dan nilai menulis mereka setelah diajar menggunakan materi yang autentik berdasarkan pembelajaran campuran. Peningkatan yang paling signifikan dalam motivasi adalah motivasi intrinsic. Sedangkan, penggunaan bahasa adalah peningkatan aspek menulis yang paling signifikan (rentan nilai= 8,4). Hasil dari analisis korelasi juga menunjukkan korelasi dari motivasi belajar siswa dan nilai menulis mereka dari two tail significance menunjukkan p0.05 (p= 0.470) yang diklasifikasikan sebagai korelasi sedang. Sejak pengintegrasian materi authentic dan pembelajaran campuran terutama berguna dan mereka dapat membantu siswa-siswa untuk menjadi pembelajar yang berhasil, guru direkomendasikan untuk mendalaminya dan mengajar siswa-siswa mereka menggunakan media online yang sejalan dengan zaman moderen ini. This research was aimed to find out the difference of students learning motivation before and after the implementation of authentic materials and blended learning. The design of this study was quantitative research. The result showed that there were difference of student learning motivation and their writing achievement after being taught by using authentic material based on blended learning. The most significant increase in motivation is intrinsic motivation. Meanwhile, Language use is the most significant increase writing aspect (range score= 8,4). The result of Correlation analysis also showed that the correlation of students’ learning motivation and their writing achievement from the two tail significance showed p0.05 (p= 0.470) which classified as medium correlation. Since the integrated authentic material and blended learning are principally worthy and they could help students to be successful learners, the teacher are recommended to explore them and teach their students by using online media which is in line with this modern era. Abstract

Abstrak.Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mencari tipe content words yang paling meningkat setelah siswa diajar melalui teknik clustering dan untuk mengidentifikasi persepsi siswa terhadap pembelajaran kosakata melalui teknik clustering. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas satu SMP Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung. Class VIIE sebagai kelas penelitian dan kelas VII G sebagai kelas percobaan. Penelitian ini menerapkan T-test dan one way anova. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan kosakata siswa meningkat secara signifikan dengan level signifikannya p0.05. Kata benda adalah tipe content word yang paling meningkat setelah siswa diajar melalui teknik clustering. Sebagai tambahan, peneliti menemukan beberapa efek positive pada persepsi siswa walaupun ada beberapa masalah yang dihadapi selama implementasi teknik cluster. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik cluster memfasilitasi siswa dalam meningkatkan pencapaian kosakata. Abstract.This research aims to find out which types of content words improves the most after the students are taught through clustering technique and to identify the students’ perception towards teaching-learning vocabulary through clustering technique. The subject of the research was the first grade students of SMP Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung. Class VII E was chosen as the experimental class and class VII G as the try out class. T-test and one way anova were applied in this research. The result indicates thatthe students’ mastery of vocabulary is improved significantly with the significant level 0.000.05. Noun was noted as a type of content words which improved the most after the students were taught through clustering technique. In addition, the researcher found some possitive effects on the students’ perception even though there were some problems faced during the implementation of clustering technique. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat apakah kemampuan menulis siswa meningkat setelah mereka diajar menulis melalui teknik Clustering dan aspek manakah yang paling meningkat setelah mereka diajar dengan menggunakan teknik Clustering. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kuantitaif. Sasaran penelitian ini mencakup 30 siswa kelas X MIPA 1 di SMA Negeri 1 Sukau Tahun Akademik 2018/2019. Tes menulis yang mencakup pretest dan posttest digunakan sebagai alat untuk mengumpulkan data. Tes tersebut digunakan untuk melihat sejauh mana peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa setelah diadakan perlakuan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan t-test dengan tingkat signifikan level p0.05 menggunakan SPSS versi 17.00. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan menulis siswa meningkat secara signifikan setelah diajarkan menulis menggunakan teknik Clustering. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa teknik Clustering dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks descriptive.The objectives of this research were to find out whether students’ writing improved after being taught by using clustering technique and which aspects of writing improved the most after they have been taught by using clustering technique. The approach of the research was quantitative. The subjects of the research were 30 students of X MIPA 1 class at SMA Negeri 1 Sukau in academic year 2018/2019. The writing tests consisted of pretest and posttest to collect the data. The tests were given to see how far the students improve their descriptive writing ability after the treatment. The data were analyzed by using T-test with the significant level p0.05 through SPSS 17.0. The result showed that there is a significant improvement of students’ writing ability after they had been taught by using clustering technique. Abstract

The objectives of this research were to find out whether teaching by using Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) could give improvement toward students’ descriptive text writing or not  and to find out which aspect of writing that improved the most after they have been taught by using Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM). This research was conducted at the first grade of SMPN 10 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2019/2020 using one group pretest posttest design. The sample of this research was VII B class which consisted of 29 students. The result showed that there was an improvement of students’ writing descriptive text after the implementation of PWIM. In addition, all aspects of writing improved regarding to the result, but vocabulary improved the most.  Briefly, referring to the result above, it can be said that PWIM is well applied to improve students’ ability in writing descriptive text and all aspects of writing.

Abstract

This research was aimed to find out whether there is significant difference after the implementation of descriptive text related to the local culture toward students’ reading comprehension and to investigate how the students’ appraisal after the implementation. Adapting quantitative approach, this research was conducted through one group pre-test and post-test design. The result showed that there was significant difference of students’ reading comprehension after they were taught through descriptive text related to the local culture concerning the gain of their score from the first to the second test. It could be seen from the computation that the significant value of the test were lower than alpha (0.000.05) while the t-value (9.342) was higher than t-table (2.0322). It was also revealed that students had a positive appraisal after the implementation. It could be seen from the computation that frequency of students above 70% with range frequency (70-100%) who had a high appraisal were 25 and the frequency of students under 55% with range frequency (1-54%) who had a low appraisal were 6. Most of the students accepted the implementation of descriptive text related to the local culture. Thus, local culture can be used as reading material in teaching and learning English. The students have a good score after implementation and they also enjoyed the activities and learning process of reading that has been provided.

Abstract

This research was intended to find out whether there is any significant correlation between students’ listening habit with English songs and their vocabulary mastery. This research was quantitative, and the design was ex-post facto design; so, there was no treatment in this research. The population of this research was the second grade students of SMAN 16 Bandar Lampung. 30 students of XI Science 1 were taken as samples through the use of cluster random sampling. A listening habit with English song questionnaire and a vocabulary test were used to obtain the data. Moreover, the data was analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation in SPPS 20.0. The result of analysis showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between students’ listening habit with English songs and their vocabulary mastery since the r-value (0.770) was higher than the r-table (0.361). It means that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. This indicates that the more students listen to English songs, the higher their vocabulary score. Moreover, for those who are used to listen to English songs, it is likely to be easier for them to comprehend what they hear. As a conclusion, the habit of listening with English songs helps the development of vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

ABSTRACT THE CORRELATION BETWEEN STUDENTS’ FREQUENCY OF WATCHING ENGLISH CARTOON MOVIE AND STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY By Yunike Denasti Mandasari This research was aimed to know : “There was significant correlation between students’ frequency of watching English Cartoon movie and Students; vocabulary Mastery SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2020/2021. The research method of this research was a quantitative. The population of the research was the twelve grade students of SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2020/2021, the number of students was 32 students. The researcher gave a questionnaire to know students’ frequency of watching English Cartoon movie, and test to know the students’ vocabulary mastery. The data that has been gathered was analysed by Pearson Product Moment Correlation. Data Analysis shows that there is significant correlation between two variable since p0.01 (p=0.98). It can be happened because most of students use their time to watching English Cartoon movie and it can enrich their vocabulary.
