Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of teachers in the teaching process in terms of aspects of mathematics teacher competency. It describes how the four teacher competencies have been running in the learning process in the classroom based on students' perceptions related to student competencies themselves using Structural Equation Modeling data analysis techniques (SEM). The study population was all junior high school students in Merauke City, Papua. The method of sampling was used proportional random sampling, which is continued by simple random sampling, to obtain a total sample of 436 students. The data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to students' perceptions about the performance of mathematics teachers consisting of 48 questions in the form of a Likert scale. The results obtained that pedagogic and social competencies are competencies that affect student competencies with mathematics teacher pedagogical competence is most influential on student competencies. Therefore, to improve student competency, teachers need to improve pedagogical and social competence.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve student’s mathematical understanding through the scientific approach and peer tutor model. This research was classroom action research that was done in 2 cycles. Every cycle divided into 4 parts that were planning, action and observation, and reflection. The subject of this research was students’ grade VIIA MTs Al-Munawwaroh Merauke that consists of 25 students. The technique of data collection was used test observation and questionnaire of students learning motivation. The research result showed that the average of the students increased in every cycle and classical completeness of the cycle I was 64% and cycle II 88% from that result showed that an increase classical of cycle I and cycle II. Students activity increase on cycle I 60% with active category and cycle II obtained 84% with active category and extremely active. Then can be said that the scientific approach and peer teaching model can improve students’ understanding of mathematics class VIIA MTs Al-Munawaroh Merauke. DOI: https://doi.org/10.30862/jhm.v1i2.1044

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe students' self-potential from the potential sources of IQ and potential EQ for interest in becoming mathematics teachers. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with the subject of this research being students majoring in mathematics education who collect 87 students. The technIQue of collecting data using tests and filling out questionnaires. The test is used to obtain student IQ data, while filling out the questionnaire sheet is used to obtain EQ data and students' interest in becoming a teacher. Data acquisition through tests and questionnaire filling is done online by using the help of Google Form media. Based on the results of data processing there are still students who are lacking in terms of IQ, but students have a good EQ with considerable interest in the teaching profession. Good student EQ through self-awareness contributed 60%, independent students contributed 51%, student motivation contributed 92%, student empathy contributed 89%, and students' social skills contributed 69%. Besides that students' interest to become teachers is approved through awareness, emotions, and conation. Student cognition contributed 94%, student logistics contributed 93%, and contribution or contribution 62%. Thus it can be concluded that mathematics education students are quite ready to become a teacher

Abstract

This study aims to apply one of the techniques in multivariate statistics namely Factor Analysis to determine the factors that influence the decision of students to choose Mathematics Education Department, Teaching and Education Faculty, Musamus University. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 70 students majoring in mathematics education that consists of force in 2015, 2016 and 2017. To analyze the data used factor analysis method with SPSS 20 and obtained that from 25 variables studied can be reduced to only 7 factor. The factors that are formed are the quality factors of the study program, lecturer professionalism, curriculum relevant to the world of work, advice, costs, personal abilities and prospect factors and job opportunities. Abstract

This research aims to know the characteristic of ideal mathematics teacher according to student of SMA Negeri 1 Merauke. This research is quantitative research. The sampling technique used was stratified proportional random sampling technique and obtained 256 students as sample. Data collection techniques used is the spread of questionnaires, then data from the questionnaire were analyzed using conjoint analysis with full profile method and orthogonal array. The results showed that the characteristics of mathematics teachers desired by students are teachers of male sex, have age between 46-55 years, then have a relaxed but serious teaching style, using unconventional learning method, teacher convey mathematics material accompanied by its application in daily life, then have high spirit of teaching and able to use technology in learning well, interaction between teacher with active student.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji model pertumbuhan populasi model predator-prey Holling-Tonner yang dimodifikasi. Pertumbuhan model predator-prey yang dianalisis mengadopsi pertumbuhan logistik. Sementara pada fungsi pemangsaan mengikuti model Holling Type II. Variabel yang tidak kalah penting dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya sumber alternatif bagi predator. Konsep seperti ini sangat realistis untuk dipertimbangkan, mengingat banyak spesies predator yang berganti sumber makanan, dikarenakan sumber makanan yang terbatas. Analisis kestabilan dilakukan pada model untuk melihat keberlangsungan populasi dalam jangka waktu yang lama dengan tingkat interaksi yang sesuai. Dari empat titik equilibrium non-negatif yang dihasilkan pada model, pengujian kestabilan hanya dilakukan pada satu titik equilibrium. Secara matematis dilakukan uji Routh-Hurwitz, dengan matriks Jacobian yang bersesuaian. Simulasi numerik menjadi asumsi realistis awal bagi keberlangsungan hidup masing-masing spesies dan melihat karakter dari masing-masing spesies tersebut. Titik equilibrium yang dipilih menjadi pegujian pada kesetabilan asimtotik lokal dan kurva pertumbuhan. Kemungkinan adanya perpindahan sumber makanan sangat mungkin terjadi, sementara interaksi kanibalisme pada model yang dikembangkan tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan pada masing-masing spesies. Kata Kunci:  Kanibalisme, makanan alternatif dan Predator-Prey.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana persepsi siswa terhadap kinerja guru matematika pada kompetensi professional. Populasi dalam adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP BP Al-Munawwaroh Merauke yang berjumlah 66 siswa. Kuesioner persepsi siswa terhadap kinerja guru matematika menjadi Instrumen dalam pengumpulan data yang selanjutnya di analisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis korespondensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan, persepsi siswa terhadap kinerja guru matematika pada kompetensi professional sudah baik. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa menurut siswa, kompetensi profesional guru matematika pada aspek penguasaan materi dan konsep secara umum telah dipenuhi oleh guru matematika, sehingga siswa dapat dengan mudah memahami materi pelajaran dan menyukai guru tersebut. Namun, untuk indikator pemanfaatan media dan teknologi pembelajaran dinilai perlu ditingkatkan lagi guna mendukung tercapainya pembelajaran yang efisien dan terbarukan.

Abstract

Jurnal ini membahas mengenai model populasi mangsa-pemangsa dengan tahapan struktur. Pengambangan model matematika untuk memprediksi keberlanjutan dari suatu populasi makhluk hidup. Dalam hal ini tahapan struktur terjadi pada pemangsa kecil dan pemangsa dewasa. Fungsi respon yang menjadi karakteristik dari pemangsa adalah dengan mengikuti fungsi respon Holling Type I yang sesuai dengan karakteristik pada ekosistem makhluk hidup. Pada model yang dibentuk tersebut di analisis tentang nilai equilibrium dan kestabilan nilai equilibrium yang paling mendekati. Analisis ini dilakukan dengan menghitung nilai yang ada kesetimbangan pada titik equiblibrium yang terbentuk sebagai produk. Metode pelinieran pada sistem titik equilibrium ini untuk mewujudkan nilai eigen yang akan membuat model tersebut memenuhi syarat kestabilan. Pada proses yang dilakukan diperoleh empat produk titik equilibrium. Setiap titik equilibrium tentu memiliki ciri dan karakteristik serta syarat yang unik. Kriteria Routh-Hurwitz menjadi karakteristik yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan karakteristik kestabilanya. Sementara interpretasi dari nilai eigen pada persamaan karakteristik juga mempertimbangakan persamaan karakteristik matriks Jacobi. Disini juga dianalisis dinamika perubahan pada kasus yang memungkinkan dalam ekosistem untuk dilakukan eksploitasi jangka panjang dan berkelanjutan.
