Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT: It is known that the regression model used to analyze the crisp data. In the condition that there is  uncertainty  (imprecision,  vagueness)  on  values  of  observed  variables,  then  the  fuzzy  regression model is required. In this paper discussed a fuzzy regression model with symmetrical fuzzy dependent variable and crisp independent variables using the least squares approach. The method used to find the  linear  model  is  to  minimize  the  distance  function  between  observed  fuzzy  variables  with  the estimation dependent variable or the corresponding theoretical value. It is shown that the solution of this  model  is  a  generalization  of  the  classical  regression  model. Further  discussion  is  about  the properties of solution of the model.Keyword: center model, spread model, fuzzy distance, iterative solution.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to describe mathematics communication skill based on self-efficacy of students in problem based learning assisted by mobile learning. This research was a concurrent embedded. The population was X grade students of MAN 1 Kota Pekalongan. The technique of sampling was purposive sampling. It was selected X MIA 2 as experimental group. The subjects were grouped based on self-efficacy with high, moderate, and low categories to be interviewed about their mathematics communication skill. The instruments were test and interview. The findings showed that PBL assisted by mobile leanring was qualified. The result of mathematics communication description based on self-efficacy was varied, it was shown from 8 students with high self-efficacy, there were 5 students categorized high, 2 categorized moderate, and 1 categorized low. From 20 students with moderate self-efficacy, there were 5 students categorized high, 11 categorized moderate, and 4 categorized low. From 8 students with low self-efficacy, there was only 1 students categorized high, 2 categorized moderate, and 5 categorized low.

Abstract

This research aims to describe mathematics problem solving skill viewed from epistemic curiosity of students on Fostering Communities of Learners of VIII graders about probability material. The design of this research was mixed concurrent – triangulation method. This mixed method took the research subjects purposively. They consisted of 6 students, each of 3 students with high and moderate epistemic curiosity. The findings showed that mathematics problem solving skill viewed from epistemic curiosity were varied. It was shown by 8 students with high epistemic curiosity whom obtained 4 high mathematics problem solving skilled students and 4 moderate skilled students. From 22 students with moderate epistemic curiosity, it obtained 10 high mathematics problem solving skilled students and 12 moderate skilled students. The students with high and moderate epistemic curiosity tended to be incapable in determining appropriate problem solving strategy.

Abstract

The underlying background of this research was the importance of teaching problem solving skill as 21st-century skills. Providing a qualified learning facility to train learners solving problems is a challenge for teachers. This research applied the Problem Based Learning model as innovative learning in the form of independent learning. The learners did this independent learning with the given geometric problem solving module. The teachers guided the learning process via online. It was also monitored by the learners' parents as well as the peer tutors. After the lesson, an evaluation and a work discussion were promoted together with the school teachers. This research examined the learning quality taught by module-assisted independent PBL model. It consisted of analyzing the learning instrument validity level, the learning implementation, and the model effectiveness as indicated by the completeness and the correlation tests. This research applied a mixed method with sequential exploratory design. The finding showed the learning instrument was valid. Thus, it could be applied practically at school. The effectiveness level showed that PBL model based on independent learning and assisted by module was effective. The completeness test results, assisted by SPSS, showed Sig score higher than 5%, 0.731. Thus, it had reached the completeness. The correlation test assisted by SPSS obtained a sig score of 0.3%. It was lesser than 5%. Thus, there was a correlation between learning autonomy toward problem solving skills. Therefore, this module-assisted independent PBL model was qualified based on the plan, the implementation, and the evaluation. Thus, it could be a qualified learning alternative at primary school.
