Abstract

In this article, we want to discuss one of the higher-order thinking skills, namely students' mathematical critical thinking on trigonometric material, related to the achievement of class X MIPA high school students. Descriptively reviewing students 'answers to questions containing indicators of mathematical critical thinking ability with a total of 35 students, was taken based on the considerations made by the researcher through purposive sampling and the students' critical thinking levels were categorized into high, medium, and low. The data collection technique uses tests of mathematical critical thinking skills and research results based on analysis by obtaining the results of achieving critical thinking skills in students seen from high category students if they meet all indicators of mathematical critical thinking skills, students in the moderate category meet 2 indicators of mathematical critical thinking skills, and Students in the low critical thinking category meet 1 indicator of mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is part of the main goal of learning mathematics. This study aims to analyze the problem-solving ability of high school students in solving problems with function material. So get a description of students in understanding the problem, devise a plan, carry out the plan, and look back in solving problems. This research is qualitative research using descriptive method. The study conducted on the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Telukjambe Timur, Karawang Regency. The instrument consists of solving the problem of function material which was adopted from the teaching materials of the 2017 revised edition of the curriculum compulsory textbook. The data analysis technique carried out consisted of three stages, namely analyzing the result of students' answers, presenting data from the analysis, and making conclusions from the results of research on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.The result of this article provides an overview of problem-solving abilities in solving functional problems carried out by high school students related to mathematical problems.

Abstract

Aljabar merupakan bagian matematika yang berperan penting dalam proses penyelesaian masalah pada bidang matematika maupun bidang ilmu lainnya. Mulai dari konsep-konsep hingga cara berpikir aljabar. Sehingga penting bagi siswa untuk menguasai kemampuan berpikir aljabar. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini akan memberikan gambaran terkait kemampuan berpikir aljabar dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif analisis deskriptif. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada salah satu SMA di kabupaten Karawang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggambarkan secara deskriptif bagaimana kemampuan siswa SMP dalam menyelesaikan masalah berkaitan dengan kegiatan merepresentasikan gambar, simbol, dan verbal pada materi segitiga. Penelitian yang digunakan merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu 1) penentuan subjek penelitian, 2) penentuan instrumen penelitian, 3) pemberian soal kepada siswa, 3) pengumpulan data penelitian, 4) analisis data hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada aspek representasi verbal, kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dalam menerjemahkan gambar ke dalam bentuk verbal sudah dimiliki siswa dengan semua tingkat kemampuan. Sedangkan kemampuan representasi siswa dalam mengungkapkan ekspresi verifikasi masih kurang. Pada representasi gambar, siswa dengan semua tingkat kemampuan sudah mampu mengungkapkan istilah yang berkaitan dengan gambar, sedangkan pada proses menggambarkan suatu gambar menggunakan kemampuan representasinya hanya siswa kemapuan tinggi yang mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan. Pada aspek kemampuan representasi simbolik, ketiga siswa sudah mampu mengoperasikan bentuk aljabar, meskipun pada salah satu siswa kurang teliti dalam proses penyelesaiannya yang mengakibatkan hasil yang dihitung tidak benar

Abstract

In this research, the researcher wanted to analyze the students' mathematical understanding ability on integral material by using a descriptive qualitative approach. One of the class XII students of SMAN 1 Cikarang Barat was made the subject of this research. The instrument used in this research is a test instrument, which is in the form of an integral material description test question which consists of 7 questions. The results of problem solving by students will be analyzed based on indicators of mathematical understanding, namely interpreting, exemplifying (giving examples), classifying, summarizing, inferring, comparing, and explaining. The results showed that the research subjects were only able to answer 3 questions correctly, which means they were only able to fulfill 3 of the 7 indicators of mathematical understanding. Indicators of mathematical understanding that can be fulfilled by research subjects are summarizing, classifying, and exemplifying (giving examples).

Abstract

Today's users of gadgets are getting more and more from every year and continuously increasing along with the development of communication information technology. This development has triggered the emergence of various android applications specifically offered to support the sophistication of gadgets, including game applications, business applications, social applications, and educational applications. One android application that has more value is a math game, as if inviting users to play like a game in general but inside it can help develop numeracy skills. In this study, it is very interesting to examine how the application of mathematical games in improving mathematical calculation skills. Most of the gadgets currently used, offer more entertainment, whether it's games or shows that aren't good enough. Therefore the application of this mathematical game application can at least shift the use of the existence of gadgets commonly used for playing or entertainment can be used as a means for learning especially for learning mathematics. This research is an experimental study with a quasi-experimental method that tests a learning with the help of an android math game application through the scientific approach used in the 2013 curriculum. This learning provides a new breakthrough in learning, especially mathematics, because of the presuppositions of learning mathematics it is difficult and scary to switch to being fun and enjoyable with the use of gadgets during the learning process.  Keywords:  mathematical calculation skills, math game.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan metode quasi exsperimental dengan menggunakan desain kelompok kontrol non ekuivalen, yang bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan, peningkatan, dan perbedaan peningkatan, dari kelas eksperimen pembelajaran dengan penggunaan saldermath algebra dan kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi penelitian merupakan seluruh siswa kelas VII di SMP Rawamerta  sebanyak 75 siswa, diambil sampel sebanyak 75 siswa dengan cara Cluster  Sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes uraian kemampuan aljabar, dan di analisis dengan menggunakan uji-T, uji Mann-Whitney dan uji Gain. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh beberapa kesimpulan antara lain, pencapaian kemampuan aljabar siswa yang pembelajarannya menerapkan permainan Saldermath Agebra berbeda dengan kemampuan aljabar siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran langsung secara keseluruhan dan pengelompokan kemampuan awal matematis siswa. Peningkatan kemampuan aljabar siswa yang pembelajarannya menerapkan permainan Saldermath Agebra lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kemampuan aljabar siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran langsung secara keseluruhan sama halnya berdasarkan pengelompokan kemampuan awal matematis siswa kelompok tinggi dan kelompok sedang, akan tetapi peningkatannya tidak lebih tinggi berdasarkan kelompok rendah. Kemudian minat belajar matematis siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran menerapkan permainan Saldermath Agebra berbeda.

Abstract

Algebraic thinking skills are very important to be mastered by students, by thinking algebra students can better understand and solve problems that occur in daily life, especially problems related to the form of algebra. The research aims to analyze and describe the algebraic thinking ability of junior high school students in solving problems in SPLDV material. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Karawang Barat School Year 2020/2021, with the subject of the study as many as 30 junior high school students in grade VIII. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with instruments in the form of description tests as many as 2 SPLDV questions and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this study were conducted by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. From the results of the study found that there are still many students who have not been able to meet the Graduate Competency Standards that indicate that students' algebraic thinking ability is still low, it is due to the lack of understanding of students about the concept of algebra. Evidently, from 2 points of algebra thinking given to students obtained percentage data of 20% of students thinking high algebra, 16.67% of students thinking moderate algebra and 13.33% of students thinking low algebra.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP pada materi Prisma dan Limas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 3 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kedungwaringin yang dipilih masing-masing 1 siswa dari setiap kategori kemampuan komunikasi matematis tinggi, sedang, dan rendah secara purposive. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data di olah melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa kemampuan memahami masalah sudah mampu dipahami oleh siswa kategori tinggi, sedang dan rendah sedangkan kemampuan menyusun rencana penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, dan memeriksa kembali hasil penyelesaian siswa kategori rendah masih lemah.
