Abstract

Communication between team members is the most vital thing inachieving victory in online games, even any player or captain should be aware thatevery member has an equal and equally important position. During the course ofthe game, each member of the team is required to interact in command from thecaptain to another member, share information about the status and condition ofeach Hero the player uses, share information about the opponent's movements, andagree on the steps to be taken to achieve victory .The study was conducted at bootcamp or eSports team training locationin Pekanbaru City, while the reason for choosing the location was due to the titleof the researcher. This research was conducted in March - April 2018. In datacollection, the researcher used interview, observation, and documentationtechnique. Using informant as the source of information.The results showed the Fun Gaming communication pattern in the DotA2 eSports team during the match had been running well in accordance with itsfunction. Communication used is virtual communication and face to face by way ofemail, chat and web with chain communication pattern. Face to facecommunication patterns Fun Gaming eSports team DotA 2 when not competingwell and applied well in groups with a pattern of face-to-face communication withstar patterns. They always gather together to exchange ideas and share each otherwith the game DotA 2.Key Words: DotA 2, eSports, Fun Gaming, virtual communication.

Abstract

The development of science and technology that is increasingly rapid turns to bring changes in all walks of life. One such human product is the internet. Today's internet technology is growing rapidly, one of its benefits is as a means of entertainment, for example to play. Video game games using an internet connection are known as online games. This study uses a qualitative research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Qualitative research usually emphasizes participatory observations, in-depth interviews and documentation. So in this study, researchers emphasized observation and in-depth interviews in digging data for the validity of this research, but still using documentation. Thus, this descriptive method is used to systematically describe how the communication behavior of online game addicts. The results of the study show that the use of online games has a huge influence on their communication behavior. These online game addicts are more comfortable using informal languages, which are usually their respective regional languages. This informal language has abbreviations and slang used because online game addicts understand each other the meanings of abbreviations and slang used. The informal language used in communicating is used because according to Paraca this online game addict feels more familiar. Keywords: online game, communication

Abstract

Utilization of social media today is not only to merely interact, but a place for the public to express public opinion that is human interest. President Joko Widodo is now beginning to use his youtube channel as a media of his presentation, it becomes viral and invites the attention of the public so as to bring up various perceptions. These perceptions and attitudes will shape society opinion and behavior. How society's opinion depends on the role of media and interpersonal communication, as Elizabeth Noelle Neuman puts it in the spiral theory of silence. The purpose of this study is to find out Opinion of governmental students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Riau on the self-image of President Jokowi in Kaesang's blog video.This research uses quantitative descriptive research type, with survey method approach. Data collection techniques in this study using questionnaires. The total sample for this study of 89 respondents. Sampling using accidental sampling technique. To know opinion on self image, author used a simple linear regression analysis. For the processing of questionnaire, were performed using program Statistic Product And Service Solution (SPSS) Windows version 21.The result of research about opinion of government science student of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Riau University to self image of President Jokowi in Kaesang blog video obtained value of regression coefficient in this research is Y = 0,582 + 0,774 X with level significance 0,000 smaller than α = 0, 05. This means that the opinion of the government science students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Riau University on President Jokowi's self image in Kaesang's blog is 52.8% and is in the medium category. The percentage indicates that a negative self-image has been formed in the perspective of the students. Thus Ho is rejected and Ha accepted.Keywords: Video blog, public opinion, self-image

Abstract

Websites are pages of information sites that can be accessed quickly. It is important for local governments to provide websites that can meet the needs of public services. The existence of Pekanbaru city DPRD website is a form of technological progress in supporting the process of delivering information to the public through their own media. The first Pekanbaru city DPRD website was inaugurated in 2013 with the domain name http://dprd-pekanbarukota.go.id. Many benefits from the use of the website, but the current phenomenon, where the Pekanbaru city DPRD website has not been updated since 2014-2016This type of research uses qualitative method. The determination of research subjects and informants using purposive techniques. In this study which became the researcher informant is Kabag. Public relations, Kasubag. Aspirations & information technology, public relations staff and representatives of legislators Pekanbaru city. While the object of this study is the implementation of the DPRD website in publicizing the activities of members of parliament pekanbaru city. Data collection techniques in this research is done through observation, interview, documentation and internet searching. The data analysis technique used in this research is using interactive model Miles and Huberman. Testing technique of data validity using triangulation tecgnique.The results of this study indicate that the city council website pekanbaru fakum because the government has decreased the budget so that it affects the operational budget, human resources are also less competent, facilities and infrastructure is absent so the 45 DPRD members and the completeness of the board can not be covered in news services. However, all efforts have been made to ensure that it is resolved, so the pekanbaru city DPRD website now runs smoothly and is always updated as a reliable informant in providing information to the public.Keyword : Implementation, Website, Publication, Public Relation, Government

Abstract

The research begins with the author's interest in the number of viewers of Atta Halilintar video which has the highest number of subcriber in Southeast Asia on the YouTube platform that is able to compete with other YouTubers only in YouTube or in the form of videos. Ateam is Atta Halilintar's fanbase who idolizes Atta as a YouTuber. Atb Halilintar or Ateam Fanbase members as subjects in the study have their own reasons for wanting to watch the Atta Halilintar YouTube channel. Researchers can convert to un missatge causat per motius and per motivar el canal by watching YouTube Atta Halilintar on Ateam Members.          This research uses the theory of phenomenology of Alfred Schutz which is because of motive and in order to motive from the actions of atheam members who want to watch YouTube channel Atta Halilintar. By using qualitative methods with a phenomenological tradition. Data collection techniques carried out by means of participant observation and in-depth interviews. This study uses subject-based taking techniques based on the objectives. Data analysis in this research is a descriptive analysis technique.          The results of the study revealed that because of motive A-team members wanting to watch Atta Halilintar's YouTube channel was due to the personality and creative factors of Atta Halilintar. Whereas the objectives to be achieved or in order to motive A-team members to watch YouTube channel Atta Halilintar are related to motivation and entertainment. The four motives above that answer the question what are the motives for watching YouTube channel Atta Halilintar to A-team members.

Abstract

Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI) Pekanbaru is one of Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam’s branch with is located in Pekanbaru. Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam Pekanbaru has a developing process in implementation of its funchtion. The development program in HMI held in suistainable training with started in Basic Training (First Member Training). This research was intended to learn about instructional communication process, instructional communication method, instructional communication tool, and communication issue in membering process in HMI Pekanbaru.This research is using qualitative research method with the informant’s selection used purposive technique, with selecting eight chosen informants that is a chairman, two administrators, and five instructors HMI Pekanbaru. The object of research is the activities of instruction communication HMI Pekanbaru to build the regeneration’s personality. The sampling method used observation, interview, and documentation. In tne order to gain the valid data in this research, researcher participate, take part in extension way and triangulation.The result of this research shows personality forming that begin with Basic Training process (LK I). Instruction communication process consist of three phases that is pre-training phase, training, post-training. The most intense communication happens in training phase. The using methode consist of lecture, debarating discussion, brain storming, focus group discussion, demonstration, stimulation, projection or line of duty. The lecture method is the likely method used by instructor. Instructional method is used visual media, audio media, and audiovisual media. The most used media is visual media. The issue of instructional communication consist of psychology issue and technical issue.Keyword : instructional communication, regeneration, HMI

Abstract

Women as perpetrators of murder is an interesting phenomenon to be studied, given the stigmatizing between men and women do in the community. Combining the law, psychology and communication, the authors try to see how the concept of self-female murderers in prison. Results of the study revealed that women prisoners perpetrators can be categorized into two: as the main actors and Performers accompanying. The main culprit is the women who commit murder with his own hands and actors accompanying a woman who was involved in the murder, but no loss of life with his own hands. The concept of self-murder convict women as main actors tend negative, compared with female inmates as actors accompanying murder, as seen from the object of their remorse. Inmates main perpetrator blame yourself for what happened to them at this time, while the inmates as actors accompanying tend to blame others that cause it to inmates

Abstract

Gemala Sari village, located on the outermost island adjacent to Malaysia and the Indonesian island of Batam, holds a natural and exotic beauty. The challenging condition of access roads to the villages will add to the challenges of the natural tourist adventurers who are currently being loved now. This becomes interesting if the village community independently wants to manage the ecotourism potential while at the same time introducing other potential potentials in the village. The red lake is caused by the red water due to the swampy ground. The red lake is still somewhat closed and has not been touched by the ignorant hands of the community so that the red lake is still maintained its naturalness. Independent community service activities in collaboration with students of the University of Riau develop the natural potential into their thematic programs. The implementation method is in the form of assistance in realizing ecotourism, and the results of the output in the form of promotional videos of Tasik Merah ecotourism are expected to begin to open people's eyes to develop this potential. From the results of the evaluation of assistance, it is very necessary for the participation of extension participants, especially the local government, to be able to manage this potential on their own. The team hopes that this activity can foster their motivation to be selective and active in media. Smart and critical attitude in media that is grown makes them village youths become a virus for their friends who have not participated in tourism promotion. They also hope that the activity can be carried out sustainably, bearing in mind that this is not just education but also entertainment and foster motivation in developing the country by utilizing the potential around them.

Abstract

This article is a research conducted in the cultural tourism village of Koto Sentajo. The research was initiated by creating a network with various related advice and assistance in improving the quality of local community skills through training and hands-on practice which aims to be able to help increase income for the village. Apart from the collection of Rumah Godang, this tourist village is also enriched with natural beauty such as protected forests, rice fields and rivers that have interesting potentials for the benefit of local residents. However, all the potential of this tourist village has not been well mapped as a tourist attraction and is supported by tourism promotion management. This then becomes an interesting object of research on how all the potentials of this tourist village can be mapped and helps strengthen community independence in managing existing tourism potential. This research puts forward the method of direct local community participation in data collection which is also supported by the method of interviews, observation and literature study. The research succeeded in carrying out a comprehensive mapping of tourism potential on a number of tourist objects, cultural attractions, culinary delights and local arts. In terms of strengthening the role, the community has begun to be able to receive live in tours through various involvement of tourism activities in their daily activities. This new phenomenon in the life of cultural village communities is an indication that the community can grow and develop in terms of tourism through inclusive behavior in accepting tourists and at the same time promoting local tourism potential towards e-tourism

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana konsep diri perokok di kalangan dosen Universitas Islam Riau. Konsep diri yang merupakan seperangkat persepsi yang relatif stabil yang dipercaya orang mengenai dirinya sendiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling untuk nendapatkan informan yang merokok di Universitas Islam Riau. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti melakukan wawancara mendalam kepada 10 orang informan untuk menggali konsep diri perokok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga konsep diri perokok di kalangan dosen Universitas Islam Riau. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa terdapat tiga konsep diri perokok: 1) Perokok ketergantungan yaitu perokok yang ketergantungan positif, ketergantungan negatif dan ketergantungan adiktif; 2) Perokok Percaya diri memiliki rasa percaya diri dengan menghisap rokok dan memudahkan pergaulannya; 3) Status ekonomi mapan dengan menunjukkan rokok yang dihisap dan kemampuan mereka membeli rokok.
