Abstract

Abstrak: Kopi merupakan komoditas andalan perkebunan di Indonesia, utamanya bagi Kabupaten Bondowoso, Jawa Timur. Salah satu pemasok kopi utama di Bondowoso adalah Desa Tanah Wulan, Kecamatan Maesan dimana mata pencaharian utama penduduknya adalah sebagai petani. Mayoritas perempuan berprofesi sebagai ibu rumah tangga sehingga mempunyai banyak waktu luang untuk memproduksi kopi mentah menjadi kopi olahan, sehingga hal ini menjadi obyek pendampingan bagi tim pengabdian untuk melakukan pelatihan pengolahan kopi rempah (KORE) pada tahun 2019. Namun dampak pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan pengolahan kopi rempah masih belum maksimal, sehingga sejak tahun 2020 hingga kini Tim Pengabdian berinisiatif melakukan strategi pengurusan sertifikasi industri rumah tangga melalui Produk Industri Rumah Tangga (PIRT) dan mendampingi dalam manajemen kaderisasi perempuan di desa Tanah Wulan.Solusi yang ditawarkan pada kegiatan ini berupa pemberdayaan perempuan melalui manajemen kaderisasi perempuan di Desa Tanah Wulan. Manajemen kaderisasi berguna untuk menciptakan orang-orang yang akan berperan penting dalam kegiatan produksi hingga pemasaran produk KORE sehingga produk KORE mampu berjalan secara berkelanjutan. Kegiatan inti program ini adalah pengurusan PIRT produk KORE dan pendampingan perempuan di desa Tanah Wulan melalui manajemen kaderisasi. Peningkatan nilai ekonomi kopi rempah melalui pengurusan PIRT dan manajemen kaderisasi petani perempuan Desa Tanah Wulan memberikan peluang yang menjanjikan. Selama pelaksanaan program, perempuan petani kopi menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi dalam membentuk kader dan melaksanakan usaha KORE yang berkelanjutan.  Abstract:  Coffee is a plantation commodity in Indonesia, especially for Bondowoso Regency, East Java. One of the main coffee suppliers in Bondowoso is Tanah Wulan Village, Maesan District where the main livelihood of the residents is as a farmer. Women work as housewives so they have a lot of free time to produce raw coffee into processed coffee, so this has become an object of assistance for the team to conduct spice coffee processing (KORE) training in 2019. However, the impact of the implementation of the spice coffee processing training is still not maximum, so that since 2020 until now the Team has taken the initiative to carry out a strategy for managing home industry certification through Home Industry Products (PIRT) and assisting in the management of women's regeneration in Tanah Wulan village.The solution offered in this activity is in the form of empowering women through the management of women's regeneration in Tanah Wulan Village. The regeneration management is useful for creating people who will play an important role in production activities to market KORE products so that KORE products can run sustainably. The core activities of this program are the management of KORE product PIRT and women's assistance in Tanah Wulan village through cadre management. The economic value of spiced coffee through improving the management of PIRT and the management of the regeneration of women farmers in Tanah Wulan Village provides the promised opportunities. During program implementation, female coffee farmers showed high enthusiasm in forming cadres and implementing sustainable KORE businesses.

Abstract

The availability and price of animal feed have become big obstacles in developing animal husbandry, especially for broiler chickens. Broiler chicken requires more than 40 chemical ingredients for its feed supplementation by protein content of 19.5-21%. A strategy could be conducted by combining tofu solid waste and rice bran as the main ingredients in animal feed production. Tofu solid waste and rice bran showing the protein content of 17.4% and 12%, lipid content of 5.9% and 12.1%, and crude fiber content of 16.8% and 13%, respectively. The utilization of those components fulfilling the necessity of animal feed. They also have a relatively cheap price and easy to obtain, so they are highly potential to be used as substitution for animal feed. Partners in this program were two chicken farmers (Firqin Fatahillah and Miqdad Mauladi) located in Tlogosari village, Tlogosari sub-district, Bondowoso regency. The problems coped by the farmers were : (a) a high price of animal feed which resulting in the low value of benefit, (b) the minimal processing method of excrement of chickens, (c) the high risk of production of chicken broiler threathened by some diseases and price fluctuation. The solution for those problems were (1) the application of science and technology in the production of fermented animal feed made from tofu solid waste and rice bran, (2) the application of zero waste principles, (3) the application of risk management.

Abstract

Abstrak: Desa Tanah Wulan merupakan salah satu pemasok kopi utama di Bondowoso. Desa ini memiliki potensi sumber daya manusia yang besar dengan mata pencaharian utama sebagai petani. Sebagian besar hasil produksi kopi penduduk masih dijual dalam bentuk buah kopi sehingga hasil penjualan masih belum maksimal. Tingkat ekonomi dan pendidikan di desa ini masih relatif rendah dengan mayoritas keluarga prasejahtera dan penduduk belum tamat Sekolah Dasar. Solusi yang ditawarkan pada kegiatan ini berupa pemberdayaan perempuan melalui produksi kopi rempah instan. Kopi rempah adalah pengolahan biji kopi menjadi bubuk kopi dengan penambahan rempah untuk meningkatkan cita rasa. Rangkaian kegiatan ini dibagi dalam beberapa fokus: community upgrading dan sosialisasi prosedur ekspor, produksi, pemasaran serta inovasi packaging. Selain itu dilakukan pendampingan kelompok salah satunya melalui pelatihan peluang ekspor kopi Desa Tanah Wulan. Adanya pelatihan peluang ekspor kopi Tanah Wulan memberikan wawasan baru serta motivasi bagi perempuan petani di Desa Tanah Wulan untuk bersinergi bersama dan memperoleh kesuksesan bersama-sama.Abstract: Tanah Wulan Village is one of the leading coffee suppliers in Bondowoso. This village has excellent potential for human resources with the main livelihood as farmers. Most of the population's coffee production is still sold in coffee cherries, so the sales are still not maximized. The level of economy and education in this village is still relatively low, with most poor families and residents not completing elementary school. The solution offered in this activity is empowering women through the production of instant spiced coffee. Spice coffee is the processing of coffee beans into coffee powder with spices to enhance the taste. This series of activities is divided into several focuses: community upgrading and socialization of export, production, marketing, and packaging innovation procedures. In addition, group assistance was carried out, one of which was through training on coffee export opportunities in Tanah Wulan Village. Tanah Wulan coffee export opportunities provide new insights and motivation for women farmers in Tanah Wulan Village to work together and achieve mutual success.

Abstract

Abstrak: Salah satu lembaga pendidikan di Jember yakni Yayasan Raudalatul Athfal (RA) Nurut Thalibin yang mengelola beberapa lembaga pendidikan berlokasi di wilayah yang cocok untuk menanam sayur-sayuran, memberikan dasar yang baik bagi siswa terhadap ilmu bercocok tanam. Metode cocok tanam yang dilakukan umumnya masih konvensional, yakni menggunakan tanah sebagai media tanam yang kemudian diikuti dengan penggunaan pupuk dan pestisida sebagai pemercepat pertumbuhan tanaman serta antisipasi terhadap serangan hama. Seiring dengan perkembangan industri, lembaga perlu memberikan tambahan wawasan kepada siswa untuk mulai menggunakan teknologi budidaya tanaman organik yang lebih efisien. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah masih lemahnya jiwa kreativitas siswa, keterbatasan siswa dalam memaksimalkan teknologi budidaya pertanian, lemahnya jiwa kewirausahaan siswa dan keterbatasan strategi pemasaran siswa. Solusi yang diberikan adalah pengembangan jiwa kreativitas siswa melalui pelatihan sistem budidaya hidroponik DFT (Deep Flow Technique) tanaman hortikultura berdasarkan metode experiental learning dan pelatihan strategi pemasaran secara online. Tujuan pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah untuk: (1) menstimulasi daya kreativitas siswa, (2) mengembangkan strategi budidaya tanaman hidroponik DFT, dan (3) membina siswa untuk mengembangkan jiwa kewirausahaan. Setelah dilaksanakannya pengabdian ini, siswa menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi untuk menguasai cara budidaya hidroponik dan perakitan hidroponik sistem DFT. Selain itu, siswa mampu menerapkan strategi pemasaran yang dilakukan secara langsung maupun menggunakan media pemasaran elektronik.Abstract: Raudalatul Athfal Nurut Thalibin manages Play Group, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Madrasah Tsanawiyah, and Vocational Schools in agriculture. Located in area suitable for growing vegetables provides reasonable basis for students in the science of farming. The most common method of planting was conventional, using soil as growing media, followed by fertilizers and pesticides to accelerate plant growth and pest control. As industry develops, institutions need to provide sophisticated method for students to start using organic farming technologies more efficiently. The problems faced by partners are the weak spirit of student creativity, limitations of students in maximizing agricultural cultivation technology, weakness of students' entrepreneurial spirit, limitation of student marketing strategies. Solution provided are development of students' creativity through training of DFT (Deep Flow Technique) hydroponic cultivation systems based on experimental learning methods and online marketing strategy training. The Objectives of this program are to (1) stimulate students' creativity, (2) develop DFT hydroponic cultivation strategies, and (3) foster students to develop their entrepreneurial spirit. After the implementation of this training, students showed high enthusiasm for mastering hydroponic cultivation and hydroponic assembly of the DFT system. In addition, students have been able to apply direct marketing strategies or use electronic marketing media.

Abstract

Arabica coffee from the plantation on the foothill of Ijen-Raung mountains in Bondowoso is well known for its Java Arabica Coffee specialty. The exploration to strengthen the specialty identity is keep going on. This study aims to determine the changes in physical properties and flavor of that arabica coffee during roasting at various times and temperatures of roasting. The aspects of physical properties that were studied include weight to volume ratio, coffee bean dimension, and a color index of RGB (red green blue). The weight-to-volume ratio and color index of RGB decreased as the time and temperature roasting increased. The change in dimension of the coffee bean was caused by roasting also detected, but not dominant signifies the roasting level. This is due to the dimension change of coffee bean in each roasting profile having tiny differences and the dimension of the green bean had high variation. Based on this study, it is known that the roasting with a maximum temperature of 165°C and total time process of 9.5 minutes gives the highest total score of aroma, flavor, acidity, and aftertaste of that arabica coffee.

Abstract

ABSTRAKLidah buaya atau aloe vera adalah tumbuhan yang mudah dan cepat tumbuh di daerah tropis dengan lahan berpasir dan memiliki sedikit air. Lidah buaya bermanfaat untuk digunakan sebagai bahan baku industri farmasi, kosmetika, bahan baku makanan dan minuman kesehatan, obat-obatan yang tidak mengandung bahan pengawet kimia. Lidah buaya dapat ditanam baik secara langsung di tanah maupun di pot sehingga lahan-lahan pekarangan yang kosong pun dapat dimanfaatkan untuk budidaya lidah buaya.  Permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat sasaran adalah kurangnya keterlibatan anak-anak didalam melakukan kegiatan bertanam tanaman budidaya. Selain itu  lemahnya jiwa kreativitas anak-anak karena kurang dilakukan kegiatan yang bersifat aktif dan partisipatif. Program ini dilakukan dengan memperkenalkan cara bertanam lidah buaya didalam pot bagi anak-anak di kecamatan Patrang, Jember. Adapun tujuan pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah untuk: (1) mengasah daya kreativitas anak-anak, (2) melatih bertanam tanaman lidah buaya dan (3) membina anak-anak untuk menyukai kegiatan bercocok-tanam. Partisipasi aktif dari peserta menunjukkan semangat dan antusiasme peserta didalam bertanam lidah buaya. Adanya program ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang lebih luas sehingga anak-anak memiliki rasa percaya diri yang lebih tinggi. Kata kunci: anak-anak; berkebun; kreativitas; lidah buaya. ABSTRACTAloe vera is a plant that is easy and fast to grow in tropical areas with sandy soil and little water. Aloe vera is useful as a raw material for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, health food and beverage industries, medicines that do not contain chemical preservatives. Aloe can be planted either directly in the ground or in pots so that the empty yard can be used for aloe vera cultivation. The problem faced by the target community is the lack of involvement of children in carrying out cultivation activities. In addition, the creative spirit of children is weak because they are less active and participative. This program is carried out by introducing how to grow aloe vera in pots for children in Patrang District, Jember. This service aims to: (1) train children's creativity, (2) train to cultivate aloe vera plants, and (3) foster children's farming activities. The active participation of the participants showed the enthusiasm of the participants in planting aloe vera. This program is expected to provide broader knowledge and skills so that children have higher self-confidence. Keywords: aloe vera; creativity; children; gardening.

Abstract

Kabupaten Bondowoso merupakan penghasil kopi dengan jumlah yang besar sehingga pada tahun 2016, Bupati Bondowoso mendeklarasikan Kabupaten ini sebagai Bondowoso Republik Kopi. Desa Tanah Wulan, Kecamatan Maesan merupakan salah satu pemasok kopi utama di Bondowoso. Desa ini memiliki potensi sumber daya manusia yang besar dengan mata pencaharian utama sebagai petani. Mayoritas perempuan berprofesi sebagai ibu rumah tangga sehingga memiliki banyak waktu luang untuk memproduksi kopi mentah menjadi kopi olahan. Namun sebagian besar hasil produksi kopi penduduk masih dijual dalam bentuk buah kopi sehingga hasil penjualan masih belum maksimal. Tingkat ekonomi dan pendidikan di desa ini masih relatif rendah dengan mayoritas keluarga prasejahtera dan penduduk belum tamat SD. Solusi yang ditawarkan pada kegiatan ini berupa pemberdayaan perempuan melalui produksi kopi rempah. Kopi rempah dibuat dengan mengolah biji kopi menjadi bubuk kopi dan menambahkan berbagai jenis rempah seperti jahe dan kapulaga untuk meningkatkan cita rasa. Kegiatan inti program ini adalah aktivasi kembali kelompok perempuan, pemberdayaan perempuan melalui produksi kopi rempah instan, dan produksi serta pemasaran untuk meningkatkan nilai jual kopi. Peningkatan nilai ekonomi kopi rempah melalui pemberdayaan petani perempuan Desa Tanah Wulan memberikan peluang yang menjanjikan. Selama pelaksanaan program, perempuan petani kopi menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi terhadap teknologi produksi kopi rempah dengan memberikan banyak masukan dan ide kreatif.

Abstract

Chocolate spread is a type of paste which is mostly spread on breads and pastries. This research was conducted by calculating financial feasibility of chocolate spread with addition of coconut flour and coconut sugar produced by Yayasan Suren untuk Indonesia. The aim of this research is to observe the financial feasibility of chocolate spread with addition of coconut flour and coconut sugar in order to obtain its development strategy on production management and marketing. The results showed BEP value of 16659,4; PBP (year) value of 1,9; NPV value of 20389635,9; IRR value of 1526% and B/C ratio of 1,05. Therefore, based on financial feasibility analysis, this business is feasible to execute. Furthermore, based on sensitivity analysis using four scenarios, this business is not feasible to execute while undergoes increasing of price of raw material as big as 4% and decreasing of selling price as big as 3%. Based on those scenario, NPV value of this business was Rp -194.353.160,28 (<0); followed by value of IRR, Net B/C, payback period and BEP were 10,94%; 1,00; 7,88 and 155.020,62 respectively.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the Indonesia's leading plantation commodities. Nowadays there is much interest to use the mixture of spices and herbs to add the characteristics of the taste and effects or efficacy of the brewed coffee. Spice coffee is a roasted coffee product that is added to a mixture of spices and brewed using hot water. One of the producer of spices coffee in Bondowoso district, Indonesia is a woman farmer group of Tanahwulan village. The product is manufactured by using various mixture of spices such as red ginger and cinnamon. This study aims to assess the financial feasibility of the red ginger and cinnamon coffee business and its development strategy so that these products are highly competitive as a quality Indonesian agro-industrial product. This research was a quantitative descriptive study using primary and secondary data. Primary data obtained by observations and questionnaires. Meanwhile, secondary data were obtained from various literatures. The data analysis methods used were financial feasibility analysis and SWOT analysis. The business financial analysis results explained that the business of Red Ginger-Cinnamon Coffee of Tanah wulan village was feasible to be executed. Based on the sensitivity analysis, the business could still exist if the second scenario applied with scenario of 5% increase in raw materials and 3% decrease in selling prices. Based on SWOT Analysis, the business is in the most profitable situation. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the aggressive strategy by taking advantage of existing opportunities and internal strengths of the organization.
