Abstract

Online learning is an ideal technological development that is created and improved according to technology within the present educational context. The purpose of this study was to find out motivation, attitude, and readiness, as well as demographic factors in online learning, applied linguistics in the Civil Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya cadets. The instruments in this study were online learning motivation, online learning readiness and online learning attitudes Likert scale questions cumulated using quantitative method with multiple linear regression. This study utilized a group of 139 Diploma-3 Aeronautical Communication Officer and Diploma-3 Air Traffic Controller cadets. Study results mentioned that attitude to online learning, readiness of online learning, age, gender, and education are all important predictors of the motivation for education. The results showed that the level of education and readiness of online learning were variables that have a considerable effect on motivation. The outcomes of this research cope with students' online learning motivation problems in Aviation English online learning. HIGHLIGHTS: The factor excluded from the model, with findings inverse to the ranking of the model. The age as a predictive measure of online learning motivation increases the contrast between expectations of technical skills. Educational institutions need to prioritize online learning experiences before learning to deal more efficiently with the problem of on-line learning motivation. The contribution of this research is key to enhancing online learning output for cadets in addressing the online learning motivation issue, while educational institutions may use online learning as the most successful learning platform.

Abstract

Microstrip antenna is an antenna that is widely developed in various applications. Microstrip antennas are very attractive because of their light weight, easy adjustment of shape and low cost. In radio wave communication, an antenna that has good performance is needed: bandwidth, working frequency, VSWR, and good gain. This study aims to design a rectangular patch microstrip antenna with existing antenna parameters, so that it can be used as a learning medium in the air navigation engineering study program. The author conducted an experiment by designing and analyzing the performance of a microstrip antenna with a rectangular patch shape at a frequency of 2.4 GHz using the CST Studio Suite 2018 software and the ADS 2019 software as a simulator. The use of Epoxy FR-4 as a substrate is based on the aim of designing a smaller antenna but it has an impact on lower antenna efficiency and a wide antenna bandwidth. This is because the relative permittivity values and the dielectric thickness are quite large, namely 4.8 and 1.6 mm. The antenna specifications to be designed are obtained from calculations, namely the patch width is 36.70 mm, the patch length is 29.03 mm. The results of simulation work using CST Studio Suite 2018 software and ADS 2019 software show the optimal working frequency at 2,388GHz. Parameters such as return loss, bandwidth, VSWR, and gain in the two simulators are different, the CST Studio Suite 2018 application design is more in line with the expected Long Term Evolution (LTE) antenna specifications.

Abstract

You Tube about an emergency situation is believed to be the bearer of the technological revolution in relation to pedagogy, which can provide more comfortable access to language input materials, such as hearing, visuals, and other authentic types of resources to promote progress in all four language learning skills namely listening, speaking , reading and writing. Among these skills, for flight communication cadets and air traffic, listening comprehension provides the opening key to access to language mastery. This study examines and analyzes the effects of YouTube video clips on emergency situations as teaching material for flight communication cadets and Surabaya air traffic policing on their hearing comprehension performance. In more detail, this compares the effect of using various amounts of YouTube clips in three experimental groups with those found in a control group where no clips were used. Certain numbers of YouTube video clips about emergency situations - two, four, or six - used for each group represent an attempt to find out how many results were optimized. The subject of his research, 75 cadets of aviation communication and air traffic in Surabaya Polytechnic participated in a fourteen-week experimental study. Pre and post tests and background surveys are used for the control group (0-video) and experimental (2-video, 4-video, and 6 video clips).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to implementation lecturers’ knowledge about effective classroom and their classroom practices for teaching English. It was also knowing the correspondence between lecturers’ knowledge and the practices. This study designed using qualitative case study approach. The data was obtained using multiple-choice typed test, observation checklist, and interview. The subjects were four English lecturers and their cadets as supporting subject. The data obtained was analyzed using interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman. The data revealed that the subjects had variety of knowledge about classroom ; one of them had sufficient knowledge , another one showed average result and the other two were emerging. In their classroom practice, two lecturers performed effective classroom skill, but the other two showed average effort in managing their class. For the correspondence, it was found that there were three group of lecturers; the first group has sufficient knowledge and applied it simultaneously, the second group has average knowledge but applied it in more effective ways, and the third group has emerging knowledge and applied it likely to be the same as their knowledge in the classroom practice.

Abstract

This research discusses about English for specific purposes in particular integration of the methods and learning design in aircraft maintenance engineering subject for cadets in Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya. Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya has some specific curricullum of each study programs. The curriculum depends on the major of each study programs. The researchers concern for aircraft maintenance engineering study program in aviation english subject to be researched. The researchers interested to explain the vocabulary subject in Aviation English by deviding into 4 groups, this research offers an example passage of how this can be done and evaluated the passage. Requirements analysis is made and the curriculum is presented on the teaching of vocabulary subject in Aviation English using observation and comparison methods, so the cadets can get and learn the aircraft engineering subject in theory and practice effectively in the classroom and apply it in the world of work. The results of this research is to analyze the progress of the cadets skill using these designs or methods by practicing and exploring their knowledge, we can see the table result of each group in this paper. The cadets can learn many vocabularies and understand the curriculum design of aircraft maintenance engineering subject in Aviation English and organize the material for learning that is appropriate to current conditions.

Abstract

Parts of Speech is one of the material in the learning curriculum first-year aircraft engineering cadets that often cadets make mistakes when making and using sentences using words about Noun-Pronoun, Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs, Conjunction, Number, Articles, Preposition. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the increase in learning outcomes of English learning cadets in the Part of Speech material before and after using the Crown Academy of English method. The sample of this study is aircraft engineering cadets 4C at the Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya. This research was conducted in November 2018. Data collection methods in this study were observations, tests, interviews, and field notes. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and verification of reflection.

Abstract

Strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform memiliki potensi besar untuk menanggulangi kecemasan bahasa asing khususnya bahasa inggris dan meningkatkan ketrampilan berbicara berbahasa inggris taruna di Poltekbang Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform. Namun, sedikit penelitian mengarah pada penelitian kecemasan dan ketrampilan berbahasa ingrris dalam strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform . Oleh karena itu pertanyaan dari penelitian ini adalah adakah pembeda antara nilai tes kuesioner kecemasan bahasa asing setelah dan sebelum diberikan perlakuan strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform? adakah pembeda antara nilai tes kuesioner ketrampilan berbicara berbahasa inggris sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform?. Lebih lanjut, penelitian ini mencoba membandingkan kecemasan bahasa asing dan ketrampilan berbicara berbahasa inggris taruna setelah mendapat perlakuan strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform. Hal ini dilakukan dengan melakukan survei kecemasan Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale setelah dan sebelum diberikan perlakuan strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform. Terakhir, taruna mengikuti test ketrampilan berbicara berbahasa inggris sebanyak dua kali yaitu setelah dan sebelum diberikan perlakuan strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform. Penelitian mengidentifikasikan adanya pembeda secara statistik dalam peningkatan ketrampilan berbicara berbahasa inggris. Hal ini berlaku untuk keempat area yang dinilai: kefasihan, pengucapan vokal / konsonan, pengucapan nada, dan akurasi sintaksis. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa dari strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform dapat menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan berbicara. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan statistik terhadap tingkat kecemasan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform. Sehingga bisa diambil kesimpulan bahwasanya terdapat korelasi hubungan antara setelah dan sebelum diberikan perlakuan strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform terhadap ketrampilan berbicara berbahasa inggris. Dan terdapat korelasi antara setelah dan sebelum diberikan perlakuan strategi pembelajaran One By One Zoom Platform dengan kecemasan bahasa.

Abstract

Calibration procedures for the aviation navigation system which involve full size aircraft and its crew may be considered risky and high cost . This paper introduces the state of the art communication system to provide lower cost and flexible solutions based on Raspberry Pi, and SDR device Hack RF One, equipped with proper and aviation-related sensors, which later may be treated as unmanned aerial vehicle payload to replace flying aircraft aviation instruments. Design principles which mainly consist of both flexible communication and operating feasibility are explained in early of this paper. As a preliminary method, simple FSK modulation coupled with data integrity mechanisms are implemented to realize reliable but fast sensor data transmission. Data communication rate under a single board computer environment may achieve 40 kbps. Proposed system achieved a data transmission success rate as high as 88% in reasonable condition. In addition, the discussion of further system development is presented.

Abstract

Rancang bangun alat pendeteksi titik kerusakan pada kabel coaxial dan UTP. Hasil output yang dihasilkan berupa jeniskonfigurasi kabel UTP dan jarak titik kerusakan pada kabel coaxial dan UTP. Hasil tersebut diperoleh dari perhitunganbesar kapasitansi dalam pemograman Arduino Due dengan tampilan LCD.Alat pendeteksi titik kerusakan kabel coaxial dan UTP ini menggunakan metode perhitungan sebagai konsep dasar darisistem pendeteksiannya. Pembuatan alat ini memiliki tujuan sebagai alat bantu ukur menemukan titik jarak kerusakandari ujung kabel pada Modul A secara cepat dan sebagai kajian ilmu dalam sistem pembelajaran mikrokontroler dan jeniskabel coaxial dan UTP bagi taruna Teknik Telekomunikasi dan Navigasi Udara (TNU) pada umumnya di PoliteknikPenerbangan Surabaya.

Abstract

Analog Eksperimenter merupakan satu set alat elektronika yang ditujukan untuk uji rancangan yang akan dirakit dibreadboard. Di dalam analog eksperimenter terdapat rangkaian pembangkit frekuensi hingga 20KHz beserta bentukgelombang sinus dan kotak, sumber tegangan AC (Alternating Current) dan DC (Direct Current), serta breadboardsebagai papan penghubung antar kaki-kaki komponen elektronika yang akan dirakit. Pada saat ini pengukuran nilaitegangan yang dihasilkan oleh volt DC maupun volt AC dapat dilihat melalui alat ukur multimeter, penghitungan nilaifrekuensi yang dihasilkan oleh pembangkit analog eksperimenter dapat dilihat melalui alat ukur osiloskop, dan untuk nilaifrekuensi yang dihasilkan oleh signal generator masih belum memenuhi kebutuhan dalam praktikum. Sehingga penulismembuat suatu rancangan modifikasi analog eksperimenter berbasis mikrokontroller dengan menggunakan displaydengan range nilai frekuensi signal generator yang mencapai 1 MHz beserta gelombang segitiga.
