Abstract

Online learning is an ideal technological development that is created and improved according to technology within the present educational context. The purpose of this study was to find out motivation, attitude, and readiness, as well as demographic factors in online learning, applied linguistics in the Civil Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya cadets. The instruments in this study were online learning motivation, online learning readiness and online learning attitudes Likert scale questions cumulated using quantitative method with multiple linear regression. This study utilized a group of 139 Diploma-3 Aeronautical Communication Officer and Diploma-3 Air Traffic Controller cadets. Study results mentioned that attitude to online learning, readiness of online learning, age, gender, and education are all important predictors of the motivation for education. The results showed that the level of education and readiness of online learning were variables that have a considerable effect on motivation. The outcomes of this research cope with students' online learning motivation problems in Aviation English online learning. HIGHLIGHTS: The factor excluded from the model, with findings inverse to the ranking of the model. The age as a predictive measure of online learning motivation increases the contrast between expectations of technical skills. Educational institutions need to prioritize online learning experiences before learning to deal more efficiently with the problem of on-line learning motivation. The contribution of this research is key to enhancing online learning output for cadets in addressing the online learning motivation issue, while educational institutions may use online learning as the most successful learning platform.

Abstract

Beban kerja air traffic controller adalah salah satu faktor yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap stres kerja personel air traffic controller. Beberapa hal yang menjadi indikator dalam menentukan tingkatan beban kerja antara lain mental demands, physical demands, timporal demands, performance, frustation level, dan efforts. Sedangkan, indikator dalam menemtukan tingkat stres kerja antara lain tuntutan kerja, prosedur operasional, waktu kerja, peralatan kerja, lingkungan kerja, dan organisasi kerja. Teori yang mendasari makalah ini adalah dokumen CASR 170, Annex 11, Human Factor Manual, Circular 241, CASR Advisory Circular 69-01, Human Factor Manual, Circular 247-AN/284, Doc.9426-AN/924. Serta tujuan penulisan makalah ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh beban kerja pada personil Air Traffic Controller terhadap stres kerja di Bandar Udara Internasional Juanda. Teknik pengumpulan data yang penulis gunakan adalah observasi, kuesioner dan wawancara. Metode analisis data yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriftif kuantitatif. Dari penelitian ini, hasil perhitungan dengan menggunakan software Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) serie 22 dan analisis pengukuran beban kerja subyektif Nasa-TLX. Berdasarkan pada hasil perhitungan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: (1) Beban kerja memberikan pengaruh postif signifikan terhadap tingkat stres para air traffic controller ; (2) Tingkat beban kerja rata-rata para air traffic controller berada pada tingkat sangat berat (85,3 persen), dan stres kerja berada para tingkat sangat berat juga (85,5 persen).

Abstract

To become an international standard aviation navigation service provider, Perum LPPNPI Surabaya carries a mission to provide flight navigation services that prioritize safety, flight efficiency, and are environmentally friendly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of time management, work culture, and work ethics of ACO personnel on aviation safety at Perum LPPNPI Surabaya. This study uses multiple linear regression techniques to analyze the magnitude of the relationship and the influence of the independent variables. From the research that has been done, it is found that the value of the coefficient of determination or R square is 0.949 which means that the variables of time management (X1), work culture (X2), and work ethics (X3) simultaneously (together) have a strong effect on aviation safety variable (Y) is 94.9%. From the results of the T-test, it is found that the t-count value of the time management variable is 2.182> t table of 2.09302, the t value of the work culture variable is 2.676> t table of 2.09302, the t value of the work ethic variable is 2.686> t table of 2.09302 which as a whole, it can be interpreted as having an effect on aviation safety variables at Perum LPPNPI Surabaya.

Abstract

You Tube about an emergency situation is believed to be the bearer of the technological revolution in relation to pedagogy, which can provide more comfortable access to language input materials, such as hearing, visuals, and other authentic types of resources to promote progress in all four language learning skills namely listening, speaking , reading and writing. Among these skills, for flight communication cadets and air traffic, listening comprehension provides the opening key to access to language mastery. This study examines and analyzes the effects of YouTube video clips on emergency situations as teaching material for flight communication cadets and Surabaya air traffic policing on their hearing comprehension performance. In more detail, this compares the effect of using various amounts of YouTube clips in three experimental groups with those found in a control group where no clips were used. Certain numbers of YouTube video clips about emergency situations - two, four, or six - used for each group represent an attempt to find out how many results were optimized. The subject of his research, 75 cadets of aviation communication and air traffic in Surabaya Polytechnic participated in a fourteen-week experimental study. Pre and post tests and background surveys are used for the control group (0-video) and experimental (2-video, 4-video, and 6 video clips).

Abstract

Artikel ini berkaitan dengan penelitian tentang pengaruh vocabulary preparation terhadap kemampuan pemahaman mendengarkan pada kinerja kosakata L2 peserta didik di poltekbang Surabaya. Para peserta dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok dimana mereka diberi tiga waktu persiapan yang berbeda untuk mempelajari kosakata baru yang akan diperdengarkan dalam kegiatan pemahaman listening. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kosakata dan tes pemahaman listening. Hasil menunjukkan bahwasanya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam tes kosakata tetapi tidak dalam tes pemahaman listening. Tes kosakata dan pemahaman listening yang konsisten menunjukkan bahwa semakin banyak waktu persiapan mereka memiliki, skor yang lebih tinggi yang mereka capai.

Abstract

Sejalan dengan berkembangnya jaman dunia transportasi saat ini banyak pengguna jasa angkutan udara memunculkan banyaknya maskapai-maskapai baru. Munculnya maskapai-maskapai baru ini menyebabkan antar maskapai saling memasang strategi dan berlomba-lomba untuk menarik minat masyarakat. Khususnya masyarakat untuk kalangan menengah. Sehingga banyak maskapai penerbangan menggunakan berbagai strategi agar dapat memberikan pelayanan yang baik. Istilah Penerbangan “low cost” atau sering disebut LCC (low cost carrier). LCC sering juga disebut sebagai Budget Airlines atau no frills flight atau juga Discounter Carrier. LCC merupakan model penerbangan yang unik dengan strategi penurunan operating cost. Dengan melakukan efisiensi cost di semua lini, maskapai melakukan hal-hal diluar kebiasaan maskapai pada umumnya. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan adalah yuridis empiris dengan spesifikasi penelitian inferensial analitik, dan data yang digunakan adalah data primer yang diperoleh dari lapangan melalui kuosioner dan wawancara kepada penumpang yang menggunakan maskapai citilink, dan data sekunder yaitu data yang diperoleh dari bahan pustaka melalui studi dokumen, sedangkan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sampling. Alat analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif (distribusi frekuensi) dan analisis inferensial (korelasi sederhana yaitu korelasi Rank Spearman), sedangkan untuk menguji hipotesis digunakan alat uji nilai probabilitas yang akan mengukur nilai probabilitas korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pelayanan Penerbangan dan Low cost Carrier berbanding terbalik dengan kepuasan pelanggan maskapai Citilink. Dengan demikian Penerapan Pelayanan Penerbangan dan Low Cost Carrier yang di terapkan Maskapai Citilink belum menjamin kepuasan pelanggannya. Berdasarkan hasil data Uji Multicolinearity, Uji Distribusi Normal dan Uji Regression dimana Variabel X1 (Pelayanan Penerbangan) dan Variabel X2 (Low Cost Carrier) berdampak 0.756 atau 75% terhadap Kepuasan Pelanggan maskapai Citilink di Bandar Udara Juanda Surabaya.

Abstract

Perlunya menerapkan program Blended Learning Approach (BLA) untuk memaksimalkan potensi taruna di politeknik penerbangan Surabaya yang diadaptasi dari Horn and Staker (2011) untuk pengembangan kemampuan bahasa Inggris. Studi penilaian kebutuhan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa Inggris taruna poltekbang Surabaya dilengkapi dengan data kualitatif dan kuantitatif melalui wawancara, survei kuesioner, dan focus group. Data kuantitatif dikumpulkan, dengan memberikan survei kuesioner untuk mengetahui pendapat taruna poltekbang Surabaya yang berhubungan dengan deskripsi bahasa yang ditetapkan oleh ICAO yaitu: pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, fluency,comprehension, and interaction. Survei kuesioner menghasilkan temuan yang mendukung kebutuhan akan program blended learning. Hasil diskusi kelompok dan wawancara menegaskan bahwa dibutuhkan kecakapan berbahasa Inggris untuk level yang lebih tinggi. Taruna yang sudah lulus dan bekerja menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan mereka dalam bahasa Inggris perlu perbaikan lebih lanjut agar mereka dapat mengejar karir di bidang penerbangan. Dengan demikian, program blended learning aviation English dianggap perlu.

Abstract

This research discusses about English for specific purposes in particular integration of the methods and learning design in aircraft maintenance engineering subject for cadets in Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya. Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya has some specific curricullum of each study programs. The curriculum depends on the major of each study programs. The researchers concern for aircraft maintenance engineering study program in aviation english subject to be researched. The researchers interested to explain the vocabulary subject in Aviation English by deviding into 4 groups, this research offers an example passage of how this can be done and evaluated the passage. Requirements analysis is made and the curriculum is presented on the teaching of vocabulary subject in Aviation English using observation and comparison methods, so the cadets can get and learn the aircraft engineering subject in theory and practice effectively in the classroom and apply it in the world of work. The results of this research is to analyze the progress of the cadets skill using these designs or methods by practicing and exploring their knowledge, we can see the table result of each group in this paper. The cadets can learn many vocabularies and understand the curriculum design of aircraft maintenance engineering subject in Aviation English and organize the material for learning that is appropriate to current conditions.

Abstract

Parts of Speech is one of the material in the learning curriculum first-year aircraft engineering cadets that often cadets make mistakes when making and using sentences using words about Noun-Pronoun, Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs, Conjunction, Number, Articles, Preposition. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the increase in learning outcomes of English learning cadets in the Part of Speech material before and after using the Crown Academy of English method. The sample of this study is aircraft engineering cadets 4C at the Aviation Polytechnic of Surabaya. This research was conducted in November 2018. Data collection methods in this study were observations, tests, interviews, and field notes. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and verification of reflection.

Abstract

Peneliti melakuakan penelitian kuantitatif untuk mencari pengaruh mata kuliah keahlian antara lain: Bahasa Inggris, Aerodrome dan Heliport, dan Aeronautical Mobile Service (AMS) terhadap hasil nilai mata kuliah Aerodrome Flight Information Service (AFIS) dan prestasi On The Job Training Aerodrome Flight Information Service (AFIS) Taruna D.III Komunikasi Penerbangan Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya dengan mengambil sampel taruna D.III KP III alpha dan bravo dan D.III KP IV alpha dan bravo. Peneliti menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa mengambil nilai mata kuliah bahasa inggris, Aerodrome dan heliport, AMS, AFIS dan nilai OJT taruna untuk dianalisa menggunakan analisis jalur (path analisys) dan analisis SEM.
