Abstract

This study aims to determine the best performance of broiler in the conventional brooding system and the thermos.  The research was conducted from December 4, 2015 - January 3, 2016 , in the Experiment Farm PT Ramajaya. Material  research is a broiler strain new lohmann aged 0 --14 days as many as 2000 individuals. Experiments based on case studies. The study used two experimental brooding systems, namely P1 : Conventional brooding system; P2 : Thermos brooding system. The results showed that the performance of ayam pedaging in thermos brooding system such as feed intake, body weight and feed conversion is better than the performance of the conventional brooding system . Keywords : Broiler, Brooding Systems, Performance

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out interior quality of egg laying hens which immersion with moringa leaf solution and to find out the best moringa leaf solution.  This research carried out on August 14--September 13, 2016 housed in the Laboratory Animal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.  The material of research used 72 eggs laying hens strain isa brown from layer of 60 weeks old with the average weight 63,0±1,51 gram and coefficient of variation 2,40%.  This research used a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 6 repetition.  The treatments of research consists of immersion egg used moringa leaf solution 0% (w/v), 10% (w/v), 20% (w/v), and 30% (w/v).  Analyzed data observation used variance with 5% trust level and continued with Least Significant Different test.  The result showed that immersion egg with moringa leaf solution significant effect (P<0,05) increase albumin index and the haugh unit, and not significant effect (P>0,05) to yolk index and percentage egg weight lo.  Concentration 30% of immersion moringa leaf solution to give the best treatment to interior quality of egg laying hens.                                 Keywords :  Albumin Index Moringa Leaf, Percentage Egg Weight Lost, Yolk Index, Haugh Unit.

Abstract

This research aims to 1) the effect of spraying a solution of  B complex on fertility, weight loss, hatchability, and embryo mortality on eggs of tegal duck;  2) the optimal dose of solution B complex as an ingredient sprayers on fertility, weight loss, hatchability, and embryo mortality on eggs of tegal duck.  This research was conducted at duck farms in the village Bumirestu, District Palas, South Lampung regency in April--May 2015.  Completely rndomized design (CRD) with 4 treatment dose of vitamin B complex (0, 4, 6, and 8 g/l of water) used as spraying and 5 replications. Each experimental unit using  6  eggs of tegal duck. The data were analyzed using ANOVA with  the assumptions of variance at 5% significance level. Significantly different result further tested with orthogonal polynomials test.  The research showed that 1) spraying a solution of vitamin B complex 0--8 g/l of water provide no real effect (P> 0.05) on fertility, hatchability, and embryo mortality.  However, significant (P <0.05) on weight loss; 2) the optimal dose of vitamin B complex use solution 0--8 g/l of water as spraying material tegal duck hatching eggs is 3,9 g/l of water on weight loss. Keywords: vitamin B complex, duck eggs tegal, ferlility, weight loss, hatchability, and embryo mortality.

This research to know the impact of Indigofera zollingeriana that wasgiven in rations onliving weight, giblet, and abdominal fat of peking ducks. This research was use completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 repetitions, every repetitions were consist of 1 duck with a total20 ducks (unsex) with 8,6% diversity. The treatments were given on this research are the R0: 0%, R1: 4%, R2: 8%. R3: 12%, and R4: 16% of Indigofera zollingerianameals. This research was held in the Laboratory Lapang Terpadu of Agriculture Faculty, University of Lampung for 7 weeks from February to April 2018. The variables that observed are livingweight, weight of giblet, and the weight of abdominal fat. The result showed that the impact of Indigofera zollingeriana that was given is not significant (P>0,05) for the of peking ducks. Keywords: Indigofera zollingeriana, living weight,  giblet, abdominal fat, peking ducks

Abstract

This study aims to determined the effect of adding various levels of shrimp waste mash in the ration by chemically processing on external quality of layer’s egg and knowing the best level of addition of shrimp waste mash by chemical processing in layer’sration. The research was conducted in June--July 2018 at henhouse laying in Tanjung Kesuma Village, District of Purbolinggo, East of Lampung Regency, Lampung Province and Laboratory of Animal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The experimental design was completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments of adding shrimp waste mash with levels (0; 6; 9; 12%) and 5 replications, so that there were 20 experimental units and each experimental unit consisted of 1 chicken. The material used in this study was 20 chickens of 50 weeks of Lohmann brown strain. The results showed that the addition of shrimp waste mash with level 0; 6; 9; 12% in the ration had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the external quality of layer’s egg (egg weight and shell thickness), but had an influence on the consumption of ration. The ration with the addition of shrimp waste mash with a level of 12% (R3) reduced the consumption of ration, but produced relatively the same egg external quality as the control ration (R0). Keywords :Layer hen, Shrimp waste mash, Egg external quality

Abstract

This study aims to determined the effect of giving rations with different of  herbs dosages on external quality of crossbred chicken eggs and to find out the best dosage of herbs in ration that affect the external quality of crossbred chicken eggs.  This research was conducted in September 2018 in the poultry house of the Integrated Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.  The chickens used were   crossbred chickens between male Lohmann brown and female kampong (3/4 Lohmann brown +1/4 kampong) layer phase aged (48 weeks) as many as 20 chickens.  The experimental design used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications.  The treatment given are a diet with different dosages of herbs, which are, H0: without herbs, H1: 1g / 1kg, H2: 2g / 1kg, H3: 3g / 1kg.  The data obtained were analyzed by analyze of variance using significant level of 5% and followed by least significant different test.  The variables observed were consumption of calcium and phosphorus, egg weight, and shell thickness.  The results showed that different rations with herbs level had a significant effected (P <0,05) on egg weight and did not significant effected (P> 0,05) on calcium intake, phosphorus intake, and shell thickness. Keywords: Rations, Herbs, External quality of eggs, Crossbred chicken

Abstract

Egg are nutrient-rich livestock products and are needed by the body as a source of protein, fat, andminerals are cheap and affordable for all people. However, the egg is a perishable farm products. Thesecond phase of broiler production was 42--72 weeks to produce eggs which have a large surface area, thin shell, causing release CO2 and H2O through the pores for fast storage, so that the rate of decline ininternal egg quality the faster. The purpose of this study are (1) determine the effect of egg storage time on the internal quality ofeggs and (2) determine the best long shelf against internal quality egg production in the secondphase. This research was carried out on September 25--October 9, 2013 housed in the LaboratoryAnimal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture,University of Lampung. This study use a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments eggstorage time for 1,5, 10, and 15 days. The data obtained were tested in accordance with theassumption of variance. If there was a real variable Duncan test at 5% significance level. The results of this study showed that treatment of egg storage significant effect (P<0,05) on eggweight, HU impairment, an increase in the pH of the egg, and egg yolk color score. Storage time forfive day the best effect on egg weight is lowest at 1,4% and the value of Haugh Units (HU) of 55,4(quality B) compared to the old 10 and 15 days of storage.
