Abstract

This research aims to identify the Bajo’s local wisdom in preservation sea and coastal area in the form of teaching material in the Basic Natural Science (BNS) focused on environment preservation. The type of research is research and development. Teaching material is arranged based on the principle and procedures of developing a 4-D model, there are: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Teaching material draft validated by two matter experts, one language experts, and one design expert. Teaching material draft tried to the Language and Literature Education students with 10 people in the small group and 40 people in the large group. The average validation results were 83.73% (very good) and did not need revision. Revised sections: cover, image source, chapter display, and change the unsuitable image. The small group student trials result obtained 80.68% (good) and large groups obtained 82.95% (good). The implication of this research is as an alternative solution to maintain and enhance the local wisdom value of the Bajo’s in preserving the sea and coast through teaching materials.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of using Edmodo, as one of the online learning platforms, in the lecture process at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of the Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka (USN Kolaka). A sample of 124 students from a total of 1,606 FKIP students of USN Kolaka participated in this study by filling out questionnaires distributed online. Student responses were analyzed descriptively quantitatively to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of learning, in terms of two aspects (the level of student participation, and the attitude of students towards the implementation of lectures). The results of data analysis showed that online learning using Edmodo at FKIP USN Kolaka has been carried out effectively. The effectiveness of using Edmodo is due to its practicality (simple display, provides various features, and supports various file types), as well as the accessibility of its use (accessible even though the connection is unstable, and saves internet quota). The convenience provided by Edmodo platform is able to increase the average participation rate of students in online learning to reach 89.18%.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the implementation of politeness in the language of lecturers and students as well as students and students through online lectures at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka on the WhatsApp application. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative with a focus on research, namely the fulfillment and violations of the principles of politeness in the language contained in online lecture conversations on WhatsApp. The data collection technique uses documentation or screenshots, and the data analysis technique uses content analysis methods with inductive procedures. The results indicate that the communication of lecturers to students and students to students based on the WhatsApp social network still pays attention to the principles of linguistic politeness in communication discourse. Based on the WhatsApp social network, students and lecturers can meet the principles of linguistic politeness, including maxim of wisdom, generosity, appreciation, simplicity, compatibility, and sympathy. However, there were also still some violations of the principle of politeness.

Abstract

Although the writing skills in the Indonesian language has been taught formally starting from the seventh grade junior high school to twelfth grade to senior school, new students' writing skills of the Indonesian Language Education and Literary  Study Program, Universitas Sembilanbelas November  Kolaka in average remains low. The results of writing tests conducted in the course writing of second semester indicated that the poor writing skills of students especially the essay writing skills. The average writing scores obtained did not reach 62. In other words, when given a letter grade, the average ability of the new student was at a value C. This is still relatively low because the average minimum expected is 65 or B. Learning to write an essay with the process approach is seen as an approach that can provide a solution. Therefore, this approach emphasizes the writing process, which is divided into three activities, namely activities before writing, writing activities, and activities after writinG.

Abstract

Deixis is a technical term (from the Greek) to one of the fundamental things that we do with speech. Deixis means ‘designation’ through language, when we appoint a foreign object and ask, “apa itu”-“what is it”, then we use the the expression of deixis  (“itu”-“it is”) to point something in a context suddenly. The problem in this research is “What Deiksis is contained in Kick Andi's conversation at a dialog of Kick Andy Metro TV”? The goal to be achieved in this research is to describe the  Deixis contained in the conversation of Kick Andi at Kick Andy Metro TV show. The benefits in this study theoretically the results in this study is expected to be a source of reference teaching materials with pragmatic subject. Academically, the results of this study can be used as a foothold in examining further pragmatic and  Deixis studies in conversations at educational institutions who want to study the language from pragmatic aspects. Practically the results of this study are expected to provide input for the team of curriculum and teachers. For the curriculum team, the pragmatic aspect and the fulfillment of the use of deixis become very important to be included in teaching materials. This research is a type of library research. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study are the speeches of the perpetrators containing deixis conversations in broadcast Kick Andy Metro TV. Sources of data in this studvy are conversations Kick Andi dialogue and participants. Data collection techniques in this study is the technique of reading, and note. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. The results show the use of deixis types in conversational dialogues such as (1) deixis of persona, (2) deixis of place, (3) deixis of time, (4) deixis of discourse, and (5) deixis of social.

Abstract

The forms and meanings of a 2-year-old lexicon are very interesting. The aesthetics are found in the different meanings of similar lexicon forms. The purpose of this study is to explain the forms and purpose of the lexicon of children at age 2. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research is 2-year-old children who live in the Sabilambo Village, Kolaka Regency. The object of this study is the lexicon of these children. The data collection techniques are through direct observations, recordings, notes, and interviews. The data were analyzed using a contextual approach. The context approach is used to explain the different meanings of the same lexicon forms. The results showed that the 2-year-old children during the research expressed 65 lexicons in the forms of nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, and pronouns. From these lexicon forms, it is found that there are some similar forms that convey different meanings, and consequently, the understanding of a context is needed to be able to explain the meaning.

Abstract

Since the last of 2019, the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) identified and its spreading globally as pandemic disease. During the COVID-19 outbreaks all countries all over the world change in terms of regulation include educational system. The majority of countries were implementing online learning from elementary to higher education level. However, how students’ barriers and perceived during attending the online learning were still unidentifed. This study aims to investigate the engineering students’ barriers and perception in online learning environment during the pandemic. This study applied cross-sectional study were participants recruited from engineering schools both mining and civil engineerings. There are 170 students participated in this study, and predominantly who age range 17-20 (81.2%), men (84.1%), mining engineering (55.9%), freshmen (47.6%),  students’ barriers in severe level (50%), and students’ perception in good perception level (55.9%). The statistic analysis using Chi-square test found that there is no effect of socio-demographics on students’ barriers and perception in online learning. While, the correlation test shows that barriers and perceptions has positive correlation in online learning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan konflik eksternal dalam novel Pangeran Hati karya Mellyana Dhian. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deengan metode analisis isi. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh konflik pada tokoh sebagai makhluk sosial yang akankehilangan pengendalian diri ketika tingkat peradaban mencapai suatu kemajuan sehingga memicu suatu konflik. Desain/ metode/ pendekatan - Data penelitian ini adalah kutipan dengan sumber data kata-kata dalam novel Pangeran Hati karya Mellyana Dhian. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dengan pengumpulan data bersumber primer dan sekunder. Teknik analisis data berupa reduksidata, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Temuan/ hasil - Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan menunjukkan konflik dalam novel Pangeran Hati karya Mellyana Dhian adalah konflik eksternal. Konflik eksternal dalam novel Pangeran Hati karya Mellyana Dhian merupakan suatu peristiwa yang sengaja dibuat pengarang untuk menarik perhatian para pembaca. Konflik eksternal yang terjadi pada novel ini saling berkaitan dan bertautan yang dibungkus dalam suatu peristiwa. Novel Pangeran Hati karya Mellyana Dhian dapat diimplikasikan pada pembelajaran sastra di SMA dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kontekstual. Konflik eksternal dalam novel Pangeran Hati karya Mellyana Dhian dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan pelajaran kepada masyarakat yang mempunyai konflik yang sama. Kesimpulan pada Penelitian sebagai berikut. Pertama, konflik dalam novel Pangeran Hati karya Mellyana Dhian adalah konflik eksternal. Kedua, novel Pangeran Hati karya Mellyana Dhian dapat diimplikasikan pada pembelajaran. Ketiga, Konflik eksternal dalam novelPangeran Hati karya Mellyana Dhian dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan pelajaran kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

Bahan ajar merupakan bagian kelengkapan pembelajaran yang dapat membantu pendidik dan peserta didik dalam proses belajar mengajar. Mata kuliah Evaluasi Pembelajaran di lingkup Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP), Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka (USN Kolaka) terdapat kendala belum adanya sumber belajar yang dikembangkan langsung oleh pengampu mata kuliah dan belum menerapkan model yang ditargetkan dalam Indikator Kinerja Utama 7 yaitu berbasis model Project Based Learning. Hal ini menyebabkan kelengkapan pembelajaran yang dirasakan mahasiswa dalam mendukung mata kuliah Evaluasi Pembelajaran kurang mencukupi. Hal ini menjadi dasar diperlukannya pengembangan bahan ajar Evaluasi Pembelajaran. Pemahaman dan aplikasi tentang Evaluasi Pembelajaran di lingkup FKIP, USN Kolaka yang dikembangkan sesuai keilmuan dan bernuansa Project yang kontekstual penting untuk dijadikan dalam bentuk bahan ajar cetak maupun E-Book. Tujuan penelitian dan pengembangan untuk menghasilkan produk bahan ajar mata kuliah Evaluasi Pembelajaran. Bahan ajar dikembangkan dengan tahapan pengembangan Borg and Gall. Tahapan terdiri atas 10 yaitu research and information collection, planning, develop preliminary form of product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, operational product revision, operasional field testing, final product revision, dan dissemination and distribution. Bahan ajar hasil pengembangan divalidasi oleh ahli materi fokus isi, ahli materi fokus kurikulum, ahli desain peyajian bahan ajar, dan ahli bahasa. Bahan ajar yang telah divalidasi ahli diujicobakan dengan uji coba kelompok kecil dari beberapa mahasiswa yang tersebar di Program Studi lingkup FKIP, USN Kolaka yaitu Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia, Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Pendidikan Matematika, Pendidikan Geografi, Pendidikan Jasmani, PPkN, Pendidikan Kimia, Pendidikan Biologi, dan Pendidikan Fisika. Berikutnya dilakukan uji coba kelompok besar pada program studi tersebut. Hasil validasi dan uji coba dalam bentuk data tanggapan, saran, dan penilaian untuk revisi bahan ajar Evaluasi Pembelajaran sebagai prosedur pengembangan. Penelitian melibatkan dosen pengampu mata kuliah Evaluasi Pembelajaran di lingkup FKIP, USN Kolaka yang berjumlah 9. Data diambil dengan wawancara mendalam melalui format Focus Group Discussion. Pengembangan bahan ajar mata kuliah Evaluasi Pembelajaran diharapkan membantu mahasiswa dan dosen dalam proses perkuliahan. Output penelitian ditargetkan berupa bahan ajar mata kuliah Evaluasi Pembelajaran yang dipublikasikan pada Journal of Educatioan, Teaching, and Learning (JETL) Terakreditasi Sinta, Buku Ajar ber-ISBN yang diterbitkan Penerbit Anggota IKAPI yakni Deepublish, dan HKI Hak Cipta Buku. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan pada tahap define didapatkan elaborasi materi dari sudut pandang evaluasi pembelajaran Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia, Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Pendidikan Matematika, Pendidikan Geografi, Pendidikan Jasmani, PPkN, Pendidikan Kimia, Pendidikan Biologi, dan Pendidikan Fisika. Tahap design atas saran validator desain terkait tampilan menarik dalam cover, judul bab, dan format isi buku ajar. Tahap develop menghasilkan draft untuk divalidasi kembali dan diujicobakan. Hasil ujicoba mahasiswa kelompok kecil didapatkan 78,33% atau kualifikasi baik. Hasil ujicoba kelompok besar didapatkan 77,00% atau kualifikasi baik dan terdapat revisi terkait tanda baca, huruf kapital, dan kata cetak miring atau kata asing. Masukan terkait dalam pengembangan bahan ajar ke depan agar ujicoba dilakukan pada kelompok umum yang lebih besar
