Abstract

Based on Global Tuberculosis Control WHO 2012, Indonesia went up from fifth to forth rank after India, China, and South Africa, obviously problem within restraint of Tuberculosis has increased. On 2008 North Sulawesi classified Pulmonary TB diseases as the top 10 infectious diseases with a prominent number of 1,571 cases. Manado City on 2012 Pulmonary Tuberculosis with BTA positive number was 1.645 cases. Basically, this condition exhibit an efforts development of healthy in order to improve risk factors for Pulmonary TB until now has not been entirely successful. The type of this research is cross sectional that purpose to know risk of factors (age, gender, education, employment, level of income, knowledge and the side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs related with obedience of treatment pa-tients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis in five health centers in the city of Manado. There were 171 samples taken from a total population of 119 people. Data obtained from direct interviews using questionnaires. The statistical test used was Chi square. The result of research indicates that the variable, which relates with treatment compliance of TB pa-tient, is education. (p=0,000) and knowledge (p=0,000). Variable that are not related to obedience of treatment TB patients are age, gender, education, occupation, level of income and side effect OAT (p=0,05).Keywords: Clean and Health Behaviour, Knowledge, Attitude and Behaviour

Abstract

Patient satisfaction for health care is a level of someone’s feeling after comparing the result of the service they get with their expectation.. Patient satisfaction provides information whether success or not of health care is. Universal Coverage is a free health care program for Manado citizens. Tuminting community health center is a health center that has most listed people in Universal Coverage Program. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of pa-tients satisfaction for health care in Tuminting community health center judges from reliability, responsiveness, as-surance, empathy, tangible and patient overall satisfaction. This is a descriptive research. Samples are collected using purposive sampling technique with sample size as much as 106 Universal Coverage patient who came to Tuminting community health center for medical treatment from October to November 2013. The results shows that 50,9% pa-tients are satisfied with reliability, 54,7% patients are satisfied with responsiveness, 77,4% patients are satisfied with assurance, 55,7% patients are satisfied with empathy, And 66% patients are satisfied with tangible. The overall Uni-versal Coverage patient satisfaction rate for health care is 51,9%. Based on this result, it can be concluded that the health care given by Tuminting community health center to Universal Coverage patient goes along with the order that satisfies patient the most is asssurance, tangibles, empathy, responsiveness, and reliability.Keywords: Satisfaction, health care, Universal Coverage

Abstract

Tuberculosis and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are two issues of public health which has become concern inthe world. HIV related stigma is a major barrier to treatment. Many cases of AIDS have been found compered hiv positiveraised the question how is hiv services in manado city. This study aims to determine the correlation betweencharacteristic, knowledge with stigma of health care workers about tuberculosis-human immunodeficiency virus coinfectionsin Manado city. The method of this research is analytical with cross-sectional design was conducted at fiveclinic of Manado city. Ninety seven health care workers were included in this study and they were selected proportion.Bivariat analysis (chi-square) was used to identify the correlations between characteristic, knowledge with stigmatizedattitudes. The result of research indicates that the level of stigmatized attitudes was high. Chi-square testshowed a correlation (p<0,05) between characteristic based on age with stigmatized attitudes, characteristic based onjob with stigmatized attitudes, characteristic based on years of experience with stigmatized attitudes, and knowledgewith stigmatized attitudes. Conclusion: There are a correlation between characteristic based on age, job, years of experienceand knowledge with stigmatized attitudes.Keywords: Characteristic, knowledge, stigma, health care workers, TB-HIV co-infection.

Abstract

Background: Malaria is a contagious disease which caused by Plasmodium sp. that attack red blood cells. Indonesiahad five species of the malaria parasites. Method: The study is a descriptive study with survey method. This studytook place in Tatelu Village and was done during November to December 2012 with respondents of 120 families.Sampling is by using the simple random sampling. Result: There was 75% for the respondents who know about malaria.The respondents who did not know that Plasmodiums cause malaria was 70,8% and the respondents who didnot know about the symptomps of malaria was 65,8%. Up to 73,4% respondents did not know anything how to protectthemselves from malaria. Conclusion: The villagers of Tatelu did not have a sufficient knowledge about malariaeradication. This was most likely caused by the lower study level and low socioeconomy level. However, the villagerrealised the dangerous of this disease, so they wanted that malaria will not be a threat for their health.Keywords: Spesies, Malaria, parasite, Plasmodium

Abstract

Background : Water is an essential component of the environment for human survival. Provision of clean water should beable to fulfill the needs of the people because the limited of fresh water will ease the spread of various diseases in thecommunity, one of which is diarrhea. Diarrhea remains one of the important public health issue. In Manado diarrhealdisease is a disease that causes a potential Extraordinary Events from 2009-2012. This study aims to obtain an overviewof the water source and the incidence of diarrhea in the Tubir village Paal II district of Manado. Methods : This study is adescriptive study using survey method to get an overview of the water source and the incidence of diarrhea in the Tubirvillage Paal II district of Manado which held for 3 months since October 2012 – January 2013. Population of this study wasall head of families and the number of samples obtained by using the Lemeshow formula 1997 is 100 head of families whofulfilled the inclusion criteria. Result and Conclusion: The result of the study of the water source found that the watersource used for daily needs the most is the river (52%), followed by plumbing water (PAM) (23%), the walled well (22%),and the least is not walled well. In order to obtain the needs of drinking water the large sourced (41%) from water refill,following the wells (23%), plumbing water (PAM) (21%), and the least is the river water (15%). From the results obtained,it was concluded that the incidence of diarrhea found 100 respondents, there were (74%) of respondents claimedto experience defecated with liquid fecal consistency > 3 times daily (diarrhea), while (26%) respondents had defecated <3 times daily (not diarrhea).Keywords: water source, diarrhea, diarrhea incidence

Abstract

Background: Diarrhea is a condition as the passage of three or more loose or liquid stools per day or more frequent passagethan is normal for individual . Research Objective: To analyze the relationship between hand-washing behavior toward theincidence of diarrhea in Manado Advent Sario Elementary School. Methods: This research using cross sectional survey approach.The population in this study were all children who are presence and attending the class and still active as the sixthgrade students. Sampling was done using purpossive random sampling, as many as 31 children were taken as samples.Results: The study shows the number of children who have a good handwashing with soap behavior is 31 children (90.3%),and those who have less behavior is 4 children (9.7%). Elementary school students who have a diarrhea occurence in thelast 6 month is 9 children (29%), while children who do not have any diarrhea incident is 22 children (71%). Conclusion:There is a relationship between the behavior of handwashing with soap toward the occurrence of diarrhea in children ofprimary school age in Manado Advent Sario Elementary School with p = 0.03, this means there is a significant relationshipbetween handwashing with soap and the occurrence of diarrhea.Keywords: washing hands with soap, diarrhea incidence, school children

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 adalah penyakit metabolik terbanyak yang dikarakteristik oleh hiperglikemia sebagai akibat dari gangguan sekresi insulin. Dibutuhkan sukarelawan seperti kader kesehatan untuk membantu tenaga medis. Penanganan kasus Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 sangat penting sehingga diharapkan kader kesehatan harus memiliki pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran perilaku kader kesehatan terhadap Diabetes tipe 2 di puskesmas Kota Manado. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh kader kesehatan di Kota Manado yang berjumlah 410 orang. Jumlah responden yaitu 5 kader kesehatan di tiap 15 puskesmas dengan jumlah 75 responden. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 75 responden, semua responden memiliki pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan yang baik. Abstract

Diabetes melitus memberikan dampak terhadap kualitas hidup manusia, semua pihak terutama tenaga kesehatan wajib memiliki pengetahuan dalam memelihara dan meningkatkan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran umur, jenis kelamin, pengetahuan tenaga kesehatan tentang kadar normal glukosa darah puasa, 2 tipe diabetes melitus, penyebab, faktor resiko, gejala-gejala, dan pencegahan diabetes melitus. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 75 orang tenaga kesehatan. Data di kumpulkan melalui kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan umur responden sebagian besar 25-36 tahun sebanyak 42 responden (54,7%), jenis kelamin sebagian besar perempuan sebanyak 67 responden (89,3%), sebanyak 100% responden mengetahui tentang kadar normal pemeriksaan glukosa darah puasa, sebanyak 96% responden mengetahui tentang 2 tipe diabetes melitus, sebanyak 97,3% responden mengetahui tentang penyebab diabetes melitus, sebanyak 97,3% responden mengetahui tentang faktor resiko diabetes melitus, sebanyak 98,7% responden mengetahui tentang gejala-gejala diabetes melitus, sebanyak 97,3% responden mengetahui tentang pencegahan diabetes melitus. Tenaga kesehatan diharapkan dapat mencegah dan mengurangi kejadian diabetes melitus di masyarakat. Kata Kunci: tenaga kesehatan, diabetes melitus, pengetahuan.

Abstract

Tuberkulosis paru adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh mycobacterium tuberculosis dan merupakan masalah kesehatan global dimana jutaan orang setiap tahun terinfeksi. Tuberkulosis merupakan peringkat kedua penyebab kematian di dunia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kasus tuberkulosis di Kecamatan Tuminting tahun 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode bersifat deskriptif dengan menggunakan data sekunder kasus tuberkulosis dari puskesmas Tuminting. Populasi yang diambil adalah semua penderita dugaan tuberkulosis yang tercatat di puskesmas Tuminting dan sampel yaitu penderita tuberkulosis dengan pemeriksaan BTA (+) yang ditemukan di puskesmas Tuminting.  Hasil penelitian ini disajikan dalam bentuk pemetaan sebaran penderita tuberkulosis dengan menggunakan GIS. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sebaran terbanyak berada di Kelurahan Sindulang I dan terendah berada di Kelurahan Tumumpa II. Terjadi penurunan jumlah kasus tuberkulosis BTA(+) sebanyak 3,25% pada tahun 2013 dibanding tahun 2013.   Kata Kunci : tuberkulosis paru, pemetaan

Abstract

Penyakit tuberculosis (TB)  merupakan masalah kesehatan global dan penyebab kematian ke dua setelah infeksi Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Indonesia termasuk dalam high burden countries, menempati urutan kelima beban penyakit TB dunia.Dan Kota Manado pada tahun 2013 diperkirakan 1.198 orang terdiagnosis TB. Angka kematian karena TB dan prevalensi TB merupakan salah satu indikator penyakit menular yang diukur untuk menilai kemajuan pengobatan agar mencapai target Milenium Developmen Gold (MDG). Sementara untuk penyebab kematian yang terjadi di Negara berkembang catatan resmitidak konsistentersedia, sehingga penilaian kemajuan pengobatan dan target MDG’s kurang dapat dievaluasi. Sehingga autopsi verbal dibutuhkan sebagai suatu registrasi vital kematian yang valid dan reliable di masyarakat. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan sampel total pupulasi. Sampel  penelitian ialah 15 pasien yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dari populasi  pasien yang telah meninggal karena TB di Kota Manado tahun 2013-2014. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner AV 5+. Hasil penelitian didapatkan sebagian besar sampel yaitu laki-laki (73%) dan paling banyak berumur > 65 tahun (34%). Sebagian besar dari caregivers mengaku bahwa sampel mengalami gejala demam (60%), sesak nafas (60%) , dan batuk > 2 minggu (86,7%). Mayoritas sampel juga diketahui telah melakukan pemeriksaan dahak (80%) dan foto rontgen paru (86,6%). Penyebab kematian sampel secara keseluruhan adalah TB Paru tunggal  (60%) dan TB paru disertai penyakit lainya (40%). Data menunjukan bahwa sebagian besar pasien tidak melakukan pengobatan secara teratur dan lengkap (60%). Dinas Kesehatan Kota Manado diharapkan dapat bekerja sama dengan tenaga kesehatan dan keluarga pasien dalam menyikapi kejadian TB terutama dalam melakukan tindakan prefentif dan evaluasi kejadian di masyarakat.
