Abstract

The existence of the provisions of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries that the capture and / or expenditure of crabs (Scylla spp.) with the provisions of the size of the carap above 15 (fifteen) cm or weight above 200 (two hundred) grams per tail becomes a challenge in the soft carapas (soca) crab business that generally using crabs with an average weight below 150 grams. This study aims to determine the success rate of moulting and survival rate crab (Scylla serrata Forskal) with different salinity treatment using crabs weighing above 200 gr. This study used Completely Randomized Design with 5 (five) treatments and  used 3 (three) replications,  analysis of variance (ANOVA) at 95% confidence level  was used to analyzing  the data obtained. If there was a significant difference (P <0.05) then proceed with LSD test (Least Significant Differences) with 95% confidence level. The results of this research showed that the highest moulting success rate was obtained from the treatment with salinity of 10 ppt. While the highest survival rate (SR) was obtained from the treatment with salinity 30 ppt.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat Pulau Doom melalui pemanfaatan limbah ikan menjadi tepung ikan dan pakan ikan/ternak sehingga membantu pemerintah menangani permasalahan ketahanan pangan di Indonesia, membuka lapangan kerja baru sehingga dapat membantu pemerintah dalam mengurangi pengangguran. Metode pelaksana kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah ceramah dan praktik langsung pengolahan tepung dan pembuatan pakan ikan. Metode pearson square digunakan untuk formulasi pembuatan pakan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah seluruh peserta mampu memahami konsep pelatihan dan mampu membuat tepung dan pakan ikan secara mandiri. Materi kegiatan sangat dibutuhkan masyarakat untuk menjawab pemanfaatan hasil samping penangkapan dan limbah ikan. Abstract: This service activity aims to improve the welfare of the people of Doom Island through the use of fish waste into fish meal and fish / livestock feed so to help the government deal with food security problems in Indonesia, open new jobs so that it can help the government reduce unemployment. The method of implementing this service activity is lectures and direct practice of processing fish flour and making fish feed. Pearson square method is used for the formulation of feed production. The result of this service activity was that all participants were able to understand the concept of training and were able to independently make fish meal and feed. The community needs the material for the activity to respond the utilization of by catch and waste fish products.

Abstract

ABSTRAKEvaluasi yang dilakukan terhadap kegiatan wirausaha muda masih terdapat beberapa kelemahan kelompok seperti ide yang ditampilkan merupakan ide tahun sebelumnya, penyusunan proposal belum sesuai, belum ada strategi pemasaran, dan teknik presentasi yang kaku. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berwirausaha sehingga dapat menjadi bekal Ketika lulus pendidikan. Metode pendampingan dilakukan dengan ceramah, diskusi, dan tanya jawab serta proses coaching kepada tiga kelompok wirausaha taruna dan satu wirausaha alumni. Hasil pendampingan dengan metode CPDT dan coaching meningkatnya kreativitas kelompok wirausaha, proposal bisnis sesuai pedoman, dan kelompok mampu melakukan presentasi lebih menarik dan efektif. Kata kunci: wirausaha muda; pendampingan; ceramah; diskusi dan penugasan; coaching. ABSTRACTThe evaluation carried out on young entrepreneurial activities still has several weaknesses in the group, such as the ideas presented in the previous year, inadequate proposal preparation, no marketing strategy, and rigid presentation techniques. This community service aims to improve entrepreneurial skills so that they can become provisions when graduating from education. The mentoring method is carried out by lectures, discussions, and questions and answers as well as a coaching process to three youth entrepreneur groups and one alumni entrepreneur. The results of assistance with the CPDT method and coaching increased the creativity of entrepreneurial groups, business proposals according to guidelines, and groups were able to make more attractive and effective presentations. Keywords: young entrepreneurs; accompaniment; lectures, discussions and assignments; coaching.

Abstract

Salah satu komoditas unggulan pada budidaya ikan air tawar adalah ikan lele. Proses budidaya ikan lele membutuhkan ketersediaan pakan. Kebutuhan pakan masih didominasi pakan komersil dengan harga yang tinggi. Pakan buatan menjadi alternatif pemenuhan kebutuhan pakan budidaya ikan lele. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembuatan dan kualitas yang terkandung pada pakan apung untuk ikan lele. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari 01 Maret 2021 sampai 30 Mei 2021 di KUB Timoer Mandiri, Jember, Jawa Timur. Observasi langsung dilakukan untuk mengetahui proses pembuatan pakan. Pengujian pakan apung dilakukan dengan uji proksimat dan uji fisik pakan. Pengujian proksimat pada bahan dan pakan yang diproduksi sesuai standar AOAC 2005. Pengujian fisik pakan meliputi pengujian warna, bau, lama mengapung, kecepatan tenggelam, daya apung dan pengujian stabilitas pakan yang dilakukan tanpa aerator. Proses produksi pakan apung ikan lele meliputi persiapan bahan, penepungan, formulasi pakan, penimbangan, pencampuran, pencetakan, pengeringan, pendinginan, pengepakan dan penyimpanan. Hasil pengujian proksimat bahan baku pakan sudah memenuhi untuk pembuatan pakan. Pakan apung ikan lele memiliki kandungan protein 31.17%, abu 6.86%, lemak 5.29%, serat 6.17%, air 10.35%, BETN 39.76%, gross energy 3.891,43 Kcal/kg pakan dan digestible energy 31.131.419 Kcal/kg pakan. Pakan apung memiliki warna coklat cerah, bau menyengat, lama mengapung 424 menit, kecepatan tenggelam 0.39 cm/detik, daya apung 100% dan pakan hancur di dasar pada menit 480. Pakan apung ikan lele yang dihasilkan memiliki kualitas baik fisik dan kimia yang menyerupai dengan pakan komersial.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service aimed to train fish farmers in Sorong City to produce artificial feed containing 30% feed protein . Methods: The methods implemented were lectures and direct practice of making fish diets. Pearson square method was used for the feed formulation. Results: The output of this dedication activity increased the knowledge and expertise of fish farmers to make fish feed independently so that farmers can save operational costs in farming activities. Conclusions: This activity was attended by 10 participants and all participants could understand the concept of the training and be able to make artificial fish feed independently. Abstract

Purpose: This community service aimed to improve skills and provide knowledge about catfish artificial spawning techniques in aquaculture at Salak village. Method: The activity was carried out with an interactive method, preceded by a survey of aquaculture location, material provision, accompanied by questions and answers as a problem solver related to catfish artificial spawning techniques and direct practical assistance on artificial spawning techniques. Result: Artificial spawning techniques of catfish result in a faster ovulation process, namely hatching occurs within 18-24 hours so that the availability of seeds is always fulfilled. Conclusions: Training on artificial spawning techniques of catfish provides knowledge to the farmer community about producing catfish seeds quickly to meet consumer demand.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia and even the world caused a decline in people’s income because several work sectors experienced disruption. The aim of providing fish farming skills in buckets (Budikdamber) will be an alternative source of income for the people of Saoka Village, Tanjung Kasuari, Sorong City in the midst of pandemic. A site survey was conducted to determine the place and to find participants in the activity. The service process is carried out in two stages, namely The provision of Budikdamber material is carried out online, while the practice of making Budikdamber is carried out offline. A total of 1200 catfish were stocked in 6 buckets which reselted in a total fish survival rate of 60%. The results obtained by catfish that are kept are able to live and grow even though there is death in the fish. After four months of rearing. The fish can be sold whit a yield of 112 kg whit a selling price of IDR 35,000/kg, whit a total income of IDR 3,920,000. This shows that the tarining is able to provide an alternative source of income for the people of Saoka Village.

Abstract

Komoditas budidaya Cherax semakin meningkat karena memiliki ketahanan tubuh tinggi, mudah dibudidayakan, dapat dikonsumsi dan dijadikan sebagai krustacea hias. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pakan berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot tubuh serta kelangsungan hidup lobster air tawar (Cherax quadricarinatus). Wadah penelitian menggunakan akuarium berukuran 60x40x40 cm yang dilengkapi peralatan aerasi. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu C1: Pakan Pellet, C2: Pakan Kelapa dan C3 : Pellet+Kelapa dan masing-masing 3 kali ulangan. Penelitian tersebut memberikan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan bobot dan panjang tubuh namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap kelangsungan hidup lobster air tawar. Pertumbuhan bobot tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan C3 yaitu sebesar 4.400 gram/ekor, panjang tertinggi pada perlakuan C2 yaitu sebesar 1.220 cm/ekor dan kelangsungan hidup tertinggi yaitu pada perlakuan C2 dan C3 yaitu masing-masing 86,67%.

Abstract

Woton (Sterculia sp.) plant is an endemic plant of Papua and West Papua, Indonesia that has many benefits for the community. This research aims to examine the contents of proximate, amino acid, and antibacterial activity from the leaves extract of two plants namely Sterculia shilinglawii and Sterculia tragacantha. The sample of Sterculia sp. leaves are cleaned, dried, and milled. Then, its chemical composition, amino acid, and bacterial activity are analyzed using a standard procedure. The chemical composition was analyzed using standard AOAC, amino acid was examined using LCMS and antibacterial activity was analyzed using barrier zone against the bacteria that attack the fish. The research results showed that the chemical compositions of Sterculia sp. leaves are carbohydrates, protein, water, ash and fat. The main amino acid contents of woton (Sterculia sp.) leaves are L-Arginine, L-Valine, L-Proline, L-Alanine. Bacterial Test Results showed that woton (Sterculia sp.) leaves extract has intermediate inhibition response against V. algynoliticus. It has been concluded that Sterculia sp. leaves have the potential chemical content.
